Youtube daily to make Nov 3 2018

Hey there, this is Clay with modernlove.life and this is Relationship Inner Game.

Now this is actually the fifth video in a series that we're putting together on how

to connect with your ex on a deeper level and this video is on the topic of how to make

your ex want you back.

And really when, when you think about it, the only way that your ex is going to want

to get back together with you is if the connection between the two of you feels great and feels

amazing, right?

Your Ex is only going to want to get back into a relationship with you if they know

that it's not the same relationship or the same dynamic or the same situation that caused

them to leave the relationship in the first place.

So the best way to show them that things are going to be different is of course to demonstrate

that there is an actual, real, tangible, meaningful change.

One of the best changes that you can make to show your ex that things are absolutely

going to be different and to make them want you back is to really connect with them on

a deeper emotional level because our emotional connections that we have with our partners

are really the glue that binds our relationship together.

You know it's not really any of these superficial things like text messaging or toys and gadgets

that we have or like a hot bottle, although that doesn't hurt.

But the thing that really makes a relationship work is the quality of the connection that

the two of you have.

So if you can simply just ignore all of this other stuff that is getting in the way, like,

oh, they didn't like this post on facebook, suddenly what does that mean?

Oh, they unfollowed me on this social media platform.

What does that mean?

They, you know, weren't at this party that our mutual friend was having.

What does that mean?

If you can just set all that stuff aside and just focus laser sharp on the quality of the

emotional connection that the two of you are having, then that is all you really need to

get back together with them and to make your ex want you back.

Now, in the previous four videos, we've talked about some of the different things that you

can do to lay the foundation and to start building up these layers of positive interactions

that will make your ex want to come back to you.

If you really put these together and really start practicing these and really start combining

these, then you'll absolutely be able to have a much more positive impact on your ex.

If you can continue to have that positive impact and sustainably have these great interactions

with each other, then yes, your ex will eventually start to open up to you again.

Yes, your ex will start to share what's going on emotionally with you again and yes, your

ex will eventually want to get back together with you again.

If they truly believe that the two of you are having this strong emotional connection.

If they truly believe that the two of you are better off together than you are a part,

and if they truly believe that something fundamentally is different for the better in the relationship

and in the dynamic between the two of you, that is what is going to make your ex want

you back.

So once again, I hope you found this video series helpful.

If you are watching this on Youtube, please head down below and click on the link that

will take you over to our website relationshipinnergame.com where you can sign up for a series of tips

and strategies that will help you get back together with your ex by simply

filling out a short, painless, 30-second questionnaire about what is going on in your relationship

and what the specifics are.

Okay.

If you're watching this over on our website and modernlove.life, again, you can just go

down below this video and there'll be a link there that will take you to another page where

it will show you how to put all of these different things together to really allow you to create

these amazing connections between you and your ex.

We teach these things called advanced relational skills that actually help you to have deeper,

more meaningful interactions.

Of course we've just scratched the surface with this video series, but we actually spend,

you know, actually quite a bit of time in delving into more of the nitty gritty and

specifics about what it takes to have a deep, meaningful connection with your ex.

The kind where you know, maybe the two of you get together for coffee or something.

And at the end of that coffee date, neither one of you really wants to say goodbye.

And you have one of those long drawn out moments where the two of you are just kind of lingering

and looking for some excuse to kind of keep things going.

Right?

That is absolutely not unheard of and that is absolutely something that can happen for

you, but first you need to go down below and click on that link.

Anyway, this has been clay with modernlove.life.

How to Create a Sales Hiring Strategy - Duration: 21:22.

- When it comes to hiring sales people

there are five things you need to put in place.

First, a well-defined, customer-centric sales process.

There's no such thing as innate sales skills.

When you're looking for new sales people

don't look for talent.

Look for people who can execute your sales process.

- The real thing is sales is a process.

Executing that process

is what a very successful salesperson does.

Believe it or not, you look for creativity in salespeople,

but you also look for people that are process oriented.

We all look for that diamond-in-the-rough salesperson,

the guy that's just naturally a salesperson.

But, really, what happens is I think

you have to find people that are motivated,

they wanna succeed, they wanna build their career,

they're intelligent, that they grasp what it is

that you're selling, or your organization is selling.

And I think that they also have to be

someone that's moldable a bit,

that you can actually teach them,

this is our process.

Sales is nothing but a process.

- Once you've defined your sales process,

the next thing you need to do

before you can hire salespeople

is get a deep understanding of your target persona.

Sales is very different from one industry to the next,

and from one kind of buyer to the next.

Hire salespeople who are going to succeed

when interacting with your target persona.

- As far as recruiting and hiring salespeople is concerned,

you really have to have some way of gauging

what type of, first of all, sale that you're doing

and whether that person matches up to it.

It's a fallacy that a good salesperson can sell everything.

That's just not the way life works.

It's not the way people work.

What you come to understand is that some people

are geared toward having business level conversations

in the C-suite.

Others are geared towards having

more of a process-level type of conversation

where, instead of CXOs,

it's more of, maybe, a VP or Director.

And there are others

that really are just very transactional.

And you can gauge when you're speaking with them

what type of seller that they're going to be.

If they use the pronoun, for example, I,

as in I have, or we, as in my company,

but mainly I have this.

That's all they're talking about

is the widgets that they sell,

then you have a very transactional type of seller.

If the pronoun that they use is more along lines of you,

as in you, Mr. Customer, what is it that you need,

and they're more of a consultative diagnostic

type of conversation,

that's gonna be something that's more in tune

with like a process type of seller.

'Kay?

Or we can go to market style.

It's gonna be a level two type of seller.

A level three type of seller is gonna be somebody

that can handle a conversation in a C-suite.

Topics revolve around much more strategic things,

such as cashflow and asset utilization, growth,

market share, that type of thing.

And so depending upon the level

that the person is comfortable actually having

that type of conversation,

it's kinda where we have to start plugging them in.

But one of the problems that we have in sales today

is that so many of them still work by territory

rather than something trying to match up

the seller with the buyer,

as to how much the buyer wishes to be interacted with.

And so consequently you'll have these sellers

that are put into these awful positions

where they expect them to go into the C-suite,

they arm them with a couple of conversational bits

just to get them past the gatekeepers,

and then once they start talking

about five minutes into the conversation

after they've exhausted the tricks that they actually have,

they start talking about the widgets.

And that's when the CXOs say, ah, I see,

you've lifted your veil now.

Now what you are is you're a technologist.

Let me walk you out of my office

and down to this person's office.

And have a nice day.

You can have the conversation from there,

never to get back into the C-suite again,

because you've labeled yourself as a technologist.

You really have to understand what your strategy is,

as far as how you intend to sell.

You have to understand how it is

that your customers wish you to interact with them,

'cause they don't all want to operate at the C-suite level

of conversation there or in process, however.

And then you have to find the right people

that can actually carry on the type of conversation

that you wish to have.

- Once you've defined your process and target persona

you need to create a profile of the kind of salesperson

who will succeed with that process and persona.

There are lots of fancy tests and evaluations

you can pay a lot of money to use for this,

but the simplest way to figure out

what a successful salesperson looks like

is to look at your current sales team

and figure out what makes them succeed of fail.

- There is no best practice, ideal sales hire

for all of business.

It is personalized to your context,

which partially we've defined with our buyer journey

and who you're selling to, but it's much broader than that.

What stage is your category?

Is this a new product or is it a product

that's been around for 50 years?

How much competition is there?

How complicated your product?

Are you selling $10 million jets?

Or $50 widgets?

There's what stage is your venture at.

Are you a new company or have you been around for 30 years?

These are all important contextual elements

that are going to define the ideal decisions

around demand gen and around your sales hires.

But there is a process to uncover these.

On the sales-hiring front,

one of the things that we underappreciate with sales hiring,

is the function of sales, success or failure,

is highly quantifiable.

Right?

It's really difficult to walk into a room of engineers

and be like, that right there,

that's my best engineer by 7%.

You just can't do it!

I can get pretty close with a room full of salespeople.

That person right there is my best salesperson by 7%.

But we don't take advantage of it in selling.

Right?

The process to do this is to quantify

the characteristics you're observing,

the behaviors, the skills you're observing

during the interview process, for your context,

giving your market maturity, giving your product complexity,

giving your buyer what is gonna be important characteristics

for the people you hire.

Is it that they have lots of experience?

Is it that they have experience selling

to this particular buyer?

Is it that they're really

run a consultative selling process?

Is they're high work ethic?

Is it they're extraordinarily convincing?

Is it that they're super smart?

Like what is it that's gonna make them really successful

in your environment?

Figure out what those attributes are,

define what a score of a one, a three, a five, a seven,

a ten would sound like,

and establish a weight of importance.

And start scoring your people,

even if you're gonna hire two sales reps next year.

You've gotta go through this process to get ready for scale.

And now we've established another

test, learn, iterate, feedback loop.

That, even if I hire three salespeople this year,

I guarantee you all three of them

will not perform the same way.

One or two, hopefully, will crush it.

And one or two, probably, will be mediocre or less.

And we'll be in a position now to say,

okay, why did that happen?

Why is Julie crushing it?

And why is Bob not doing so good?

What is it about them?

Were we assessing on that?

Did we assess on that during the interview process?

How did we miss it?

And, if so, how do we need to iterate the interview process?

So, we have to set up that feedback loop.

- [Instructor] Once you identify the things

that make a salesperson successful in your organization

you need to develop a robust standardized interview process

that will help you determine

whether someone fits that profile.

- As I like to say, the onboarding process actually starts

with the very first interview.

So, in hiring salespeople you wanna make sure

that you have identified, hey, you can't work here

unless you have these baseline competencies,

and then you have a process in your hiring approach

that assesses for those competencies.

- When it comes to assessing a candidate's competency

you have a few different options.

- So there's a personality assessment,

there's a behavioral assessment,

and then there's a skills assessment.

The personality assessment helps you understand

what that individual's makeup is,

the things that motivate them individually.

A behavioral assessment will let you know

how a person would work inside of an organization

or in collaboration with a team.

It kinda gives you a sense of a culture,

a flavor, if you're trying to build out a diverse team

in that respect.

A skills assessment tells you whether or not somebody

is coachable, trainable, and where they are today

as a snapshot on the spectrum of skills necessary

to perform in their function.

I think the most effective one for sales teams

is doing a skills assessment.

Unfortunately, most people either do a behavioral

or a personality assessment and they get somebody on board,

and they don't have any kind of tools by which to manage,

or to effectively coach, or to develop

a professional development program for that individual.

And so they throw them into the queue in a homogeneous way

and hope that they'll kinda get it.

They get the pat on the back.

- To prevent this from happening

you need to design your interview

to focus on what matters most.

- So, being able to create an experiential interview.

That doesn't mean sitting them down

and making them do cold calls,

but ask about things that would be

an indicator as to whether or not

someone would have call reluctance.

Ask about things that they've done in their past

that may align to whether or not

they've been metrics driven.

Don't forget that if you're hiring STRs and salespeople,

it's a research function.

It's not just a function of having conversations

with people on the phone,

but this person has to be diligent in setting aside time

to source, to evaluate, to even do admin tasks.

I know that's not what we hire salespeople to do,

but if you're gonna scale an organization,

you've gotta make sure that you're keeping good data.

- And if you're gonna hire somebody

and they're gonna be doing research five hours a week,

and they're gonna do admin tasks four hours a week,

and the job description, and the interview process

just focuses on, oh you're gonna close deals

and you're gonna be a hero,

there's a disconnect there.

And so, I think it's just about being honest.

What are you actually gonna do

when you show up for work day one?

- That's an important point.

Different sales roles require different skill sets,

and therefore, different interview techniques.

So you have to nail down a clear definition of the role

you're trying to fill.

- So the first thing that I always recommend

is step back and take a look at the roles

in your organization.

Understand what those roles entail,

especially the competencies, but if you can,

and if you have the ability to work with a psychometric firm

that does reliable, validated, psychometric assessments,

you can get a sort of a personality and competency profile

of what your top producers look like

compared to those who aren't top producers,

and start to look for differences and gaps

between those two profiles.

And so if you do that, you can start to use assessments,

or behavioral interviewing,

or competency modeling assessments

to help you select people that are the right fit

for the right role in your organization.

- Once you know the skill you're looking for,

you can start to define the interview experience

that will best identify those skills.

Get creative with the interview process.

Your interview shouldn't be just a series of questions

you fire at the candidate.

In fact, the typical job interview only predicts 14%

of a candidate's post-hire success.

Instead, find ways to evaluate the skills

you're interested in.

For example, coachability is an important trait

in any sales rep,

so try coaching candidates during the interview.

Instead of asking someone how coachable they are,

let them show you.

Have them do a role-play and then give them feedback.

Pay attention to how they respond.

Are they happy to receive feedback?

Or does it make them bristle?

After you give them feedback

have them do the role-play again,

and see if they implement the feedback you gave them.

Here's another example of a creative interview idea.

When your reps get on sales calls

you want them to be able to understand

a prospect's challenges

and consult them toward the right solution,

so treat the interview like a consultation.

Present them with a real problem

your team is currently facing

and ask them for advice on how to fix it.

This will give you a ton of information

about how good they are at asking questions

and uncovering solutions.

And it might give you some good ideas

for how to fix the problem.

That's much better than asking them something ridiculous

like how many golf balls

would fit inside a commercial airplane?

There are so many ways to make an interview

more than just a series of questions.

If you want more ideas HubSpot's Sales Blog

has a whole bunch of posts on interviewing and hiring

to help you get started,

which we've linked to in the additional resources section.

But, the best interview questions will be the ones

that are unique to your own team and process.

One word of caution here.

While it is important to get creative

with your interview process,

it's also important to standardize your interview process.

You need to ask the exact same question to every candidate.

Otherwise, you won't have a solid point of comparison.

You also need to have a standard grading rubric

for the answers to those questions.

Standardizing your questions and the way you assess answers

is a good practice in any hiring situation,

but it's especially important in sales.

- You need to have a hiring methodology

that emulates what someone is going to be doing in the wild

once they're hired.

It doesn't make sense

to have someone sit across a murder board of five people

who are asking questions

that have nothing to do with their role,

and they're simply satisfied

with the answers that they're getting.

I mean, if a person is a good (laughing) salesperson

they're probably gonna give you some good answers.

That doesn't necessarily mean that that's gonna show up

when they actually get to the workforce.

- Think of it this way.

If someone can trick you into hiring them,

they will probably deceive your customers too.

That might give you a short term bump in sales,

but it'll lead to lost trust and broken relationships,

and ultimately, that'll mean less sales for your company

in the long run.

By standardizing your interview process,

you can filter out the people

who don't have your company's best interests at heart.

One important thing to keep in mind here

is that some job candidates might be a good fit

for your company but not a good fit for your sales team.

In some cases, the candidates you get for sales roles

would do much better somewhere else in the company.

- You know, you may interview somebody

that, on the surface, seems to be the perfect person.

You know, he's just very outgoing, sales-type of person.

You know, this is the one you want on your team.

But, in doing that analysis, you may find out

that they are uncomfortable in that role.

The way they're coming across

is what they expect you like in that sorta thing.

They may be much more comfortable in a support role

or much more comfortable in a different administrative role

or something like that.

So, the identifying talent.

So, doing the assessment, doing the one-on-one interviews.

The other thing that we've always found with our teams

is to go ahead and have multiple people interview,

so not just the hiring manager

but also have the support folks: the sales support,

the sales team,

other members of the management team perhaps.

And one of the key ones is, I think,

is have that person interview

with someone that's been hired in the last six months

in your organization.

They will have much more of a one on one

of what's the organization really like,

what are you really looking for?

And if the person kind of makes it past

the first couple of rounds,

we'll actually have them go out on sales calls with our team

and actually go out and sit down with a client,

see how they act in that environment

and see if they enjoy that environment,

what that looks like.

- You don't want to just reject these candidates

and forget about them.

They might turn out to be valuable assets

in other parts of your company.

The last step is to create a recruiting strategy.

As you think about the different roles on your sales team,

keep in mind that they'll change as your company grows.

- When I joined almost three years ago,

we were about 35 people as a company.

So, I came in, just had a couple people on the team.

We've scaled that up, so, as a company,

we're over 300 people overall.

Between sales and customer success

and other other parts of the funnel,

we've got 70 to 80 people on that team right now.

And the key is, like early on was,

you kinda hire people that can do a lot of different things.

And then, as you find particular pockets,

you sorta specialize and scale.

So, we did that.

So, as we got more traction on the enterprise layer,

we segmented out the S&B once we saw

that was more transactional,

and we could cater to that in a specific way.

Once we got post-sale, we said,

all right, now it's time to bring in customer success

once we got to a certain volume.

We specialized inbound versus outbound

from a top-of-the-funnel perspective,

and we're continuing to stratify,

so as we move up funnel to bigger enterprise relationships,

we're moving up to the enterprise

and then the strategic layer

which is more of your traditional elephant hunters.

- Even if you company isn't in its early stages,

the needs of a sales organization change over time.

You need to constantly look ahead

so you aren't forced into a hiring crisis.

- The one thing I've gotten better at

over the last couple of years is thinking about

what's this company gonna look in six months

and how do I prepare now?

Because we know we could lose people,

we need to hire people,

and it takes time to train people and recruit people.

And so trying to really think

what do we need three or six months from now

instead of what do we need right now

is one way that I've been able to keep ahead of that.

- In order for that to work you need to not only plan ahead

but also start recruiting

before you're even looking to hire.

- It's like you've gotta go out there and start to nurture

and find sales talent way before you need it.

And that best sales talent

probably is already happy where they are

so you have to nurture them

and you have to use that kind of,

almost like a lead generation approach to talent.

It's hitting somebody who may not be ready to make a move.

It's identifying, either through tools like LinkedIn

and other social tools,

but it's finding and identifying salespeople

that you may wanna have join your organization

and you start to connect with them proactively.

What you're looking for is, you know, salespeople,

even great salespeople say, hey, I need to make a move,

because they just cut my territory in half,

or they changed the comp plan.

I don't like the comp plan.

When those salespeople are ready to make a change,

you wanna make sure you're first on their list

as those organizations that they reach out to.

- When you start looking for potential hires on LinkedIn,

there are a couple of different strategies

you'll want to use.

Building relationships with established sales talent

is a long-term strategy.

For example, if you want to build a pipeline

of potential account executives,

you need to recognize that it might be a long time

before top performers at other companies

will be looking for a change.

You should still nurture those relationships,

but you can supplement that strategy

with a short-term strategy of nurturing relationships

with high-performing business development reps.

BDRs typically stay in their roles for 10 to 19 months.

Knowing this, identify top reps

who are approaching the 10-month mark in their current role.

You'll likely find high-quality candidates

who are looking for an opportunity

to take on a new challenge.

Nurturing those relationships will bring results faster

than nurturing relationships with established salespeople

who have already landed the dream job.

So if you want to hire an all-star sales team,

start by making sure your sales process and target persona

are well defined.

Then, figure out what roles you need to fill

in order to execute that process

and what skills and competencies someone needs to have

to be successful in those roles.

To do that you need to figure out

what predicts the success of your current team members.

And once you know all that,

you can design a recruiting strategy

and an interview process

that will attract and secure the best possible new editions

to your team.

Following these steps will build a pipeline of sales talent

that will help your company grow better.

hi I'm Sophie and welcome to my world today I'm going to teach you how to take

a clothes pin and turn it into a napkin holder and no I'm not talking about

taking a clothes pin and putting it on the napkins like that to hold the

napkins no no no no no I'm talking about turning it into a super cute

Thanksgiving napkin holder and you can make it one of two ways you can either

make it au natural or you can color it and I'm gonna teach

you how to make it right now for this project you'll need 29

wooden clothespins hot glue Uni Posca pens or paint flower shears wire cutters

or needle nose pliers with a blade I got these at Dollar Tree it's 36 of these

clothespins for a buck which is great and that's really all you need and what

you're gonna do is take these guys and pull them apart so they just if you

slide them like that to the side they just pop right apart like that and you

could save these and use those for you know other fun things but what you want

to do is you want to pull apart all of these clothespins and you want 29 total

and what you're gonna be doing is taking some hot glue and gluing them together

like this so I've got my hot glue gun here and as people notice I got myself a

brand new hot glue gun if you follow me you know that my glue guns are usually a

mess finally got myself a new one okay and I'm just gonna run a bead of hot

glue down the back and just put those two together like that now you can do

your turkey all-natural like this one here or you can paint it like this and

what you can do is take your Uni Posca pen and I'm doing orange and yellow

we're gonna have six oranges on the bottom and five yellows on the top so as

I make these I can just paint them up with my Uni

Posca pen you can also just use regular paint if you want I just love my Uni

Posca though and you know you can see how you can just get in there

those clothespin parts it goes in just push the pen on in and it just goes

right in there so I'm gonna make six of these per side

so twelve total so twelve orange and ten yellow just like that and I'm also gonna

be making the turkey body and so I will make one that is brown like that so now

we're going to put them together first thing I'm gonna do is put a little bead

of glue right here and right at the top of that little chunk of chunk see how it

goes chunka chunka there see that chunka chunka you're gonna go right here at

the top and right down here so a little bit here right on the top of that

chunka chunka and then right down there and then you're just gonna put these two

together

and you want to make sure that you're flush right here that these two are flush

so you're gonna get like a little letter V going on I'm gonna do this for all six

now once you're done it looks kind of like a little fan or a little sunrise

let that dry really really good because now what we're gonna do is come one two

three four five six we're gonna come back with the yellow ones and we're

gonna glue those right in the middle of each of the orange and we're going to

push it down as far as it'll go so what we don't want to do is have these

pulling apart so let's make sure that you're nice and solid and glued and

dried and then what you're gonna do is just put a little bit of glue just at

the bottom part on either side and you only need to do it on the bottom part

because the glue itself is gonna push up as you insert it I'm gonna insert it in

between those two orange and I'm gonna repeat this with all five there you go

so you're gonna repeat this so that you end up with two now I'm gonna do one

side natural and one side that is colored so I've got my all-natural side

put together and then I have my colored side so you need two sets one for each

side now we're gonna make the middle part for the middle part we're actually

going to be doing a little bit of a different configuration with our clips

we're still gonna pull the clips apart

this time you're gonna be holding these apart from each other and we're gonna be

gluing this section together right here this kind of sloped section on top of

each other so I'm just gonna take a little bit of glue place it right here

on the top and lay this one over top and just line it up right where it goes into

that little kachunk kachunk right there right into that little bite and I'm

gonna make four of these and I'm gonna glue these together so I'm just gonna

run a bead of glue all down now make sure that you are going in the

right direction make sure they're lined up so that the configuration is exactly

the same you want to make sure that this little notch lines up and this little

notch lines up there you go now you can use your Uni Posca and paint it green

now you can leave it natural if you want to but I decided to paint the entire

thing green now it's time to put the whole thing together so what we're gonna

be doing is basically taking this and gluing it right to the base right there

and this and gluing it to the base right there so take a little bit of glue

decide which side goes in and out this one has a little bit of a squidgy so I'm

gonna actually put that on the inside so I'm putting glue all over the bottom and

then I'm just gonna take my base I'm gonna line it up right at the bottom so

that this is flush with the bottom and right in the middle see where that

crossover is I'm going to line this up right in the middle there and I just

want to let that dry we're really really good now while that's happening I'm

gonna work on my beak so I've got my my brown clothespin this is going to be my

turkey and I I'm only going to be using one for right now but you can make two

one for either side but I'm gonna show you how to make one right now I've gotta

take an extra clothespin that I've taken apart just gonna take a yellow

Uni Posca and color the end all the way around

like that I'm gonna let it dry really really good now this is a dried one it's

really nice and dry and now what I'm going to be using is my clippers now

this is where I was saying you wanted to have a pair of clippers you don't want

to use scissors here because you don't hurt your scissors you'll ruin them but

you want to come in about oh 1/2 an inch and you just want to snip it with these

snippers so sometimes you need to get it on both sides so I'm just gonna take a

tiny bit of glue and put it right here on this edge and I'm going to glue it

right in that little cutaway there we go I'm gonna let this dry really good now

I'm going to come back for my final side and so what I'm gonna do is once again

I'm gonna take my beautiful color inside flip it over to the non colored side

here add some glue and again this is really important to line it up so that

this is on the bottom right in the center and you can use the other one to

kind of make sure that it's centered once you have it sort of tacky you can

stand it up that's gonna probably be the best way unless you want to hold it and

now we've got our turkey to glue on we're just gonna glue him right in the

center so we're just gonna put another bead of glue right down this back and it

just needs to be the back part here you don't have to do it on his head and line

that up right in the middle there

and then we're gonna take a Sharpie pen here or Uni Posca if you had a

small Uni Posca and give him a little

breathing hole on his nose and two little eyes there he is and now all that

you need to do is add your napkins and there you have it a clothespin turned

into a napkin holder and once you fill it all up you will be ready to gobble up

your Thanksgiving dinner for more great ideas made out of household products and

How To Make Cascading Pearl Earrings: Jewelry Making Tutorial - Duration: 8:29.

To make the earrings you'll need some loopy chain.

This is chain has big half-inch loops in silver. Big circle loops. And

you'll need six headpins.

You'll need six pearls and we've got two of each color. We've got this pretty blue color.

We've got a pretty green, olivey-green color and a copper color. And the pearls are about

six millimeters across. And you'll need two earring wires. These are also silver.

One thing you'll want to check is that your headpins fit through the pearls. Pearls often have small holes.

So you want to make sure that these head ins fit through your pearls. For tools,

we have chain-nose pliers, wire cutters, and round-nose pliers.

Before we get started

showing you how to make this pair of earrings, we want to show you the earring itself.

We've already made one here and it's basically three lengths of chain.

It's a big loopy chain. And then each circle in the chain has a pearl dangle in it

and it's all attached to an earring wire. So we're going to show you how to do that. First

you want to cut your chain.

So you have three links like this. And we chose this big loopy chain

so that each one of these circles is bigger than the pearl and the pearls can hang inside these links. And

to cut the chain, we're going to count out our three links and then cut through the fourth link

to separate it from the chain. Just

using my wire cutters there. I'm gonna bend that link open.

This link is now trash.

I might save that for another project.

But here's our other earring. So there's our three lengths and

we can go ahead and put that on our earring wire.

So I'm just backing it up over to the top of the earring wire and

then nestling it into the space there. And if it's not open, mine's a little bit closed, you can just move

the earring wire over slightly and then close it back up.

So that's kind of a cute earring already even without the dangles, but we're gonna make some dangles for it.

So to do that we're going to

take a headpin. And we made sure these head pins fit through our pearls

before we got started on the project because pearls often have very small holes.

So you'll want to test your pearls and make sure that you've got head pins that fit through your pearls.

And we're going to do the bottom dangle first. So on the earring here, the bottom dangle is the copper one

and so I've got the copper pearl on the headpin and I'm going to make a wrapped loop in the top of that wire.

To do that. I'm using my round-nose pliers.

I'm going to pinch the headpin wire just above the pearl and I'm gonna bend that wire 90 degrees

toward me.

Like that.

Then I'm going to take the round-nose pliers and move them to the top part of that bend.

Now I can bend the wire over in the opposite direction, over the top of the round-nose pliers to get that round shape. I

can't go all the way around though because the bottom jaws are in the way.

So I reposition the pliers, putting the bottom jaw in that loop now, and now I can bring that

wire all the way around

the bottom jaw to make that little loop. Like that.

But before we wrap it, we want to put it onto our links in our earring. And this is when it's helpful to see

this completed earring.

It looks like we want to put this pearl in the bottom chain,

but really it's attached to the middle chain.

If you see that, it's attached to the bottom part of the middle chain, and that way it hangs inside the bottom chain.

So we're going to attach it to the middle link

of our chain here. So here's our chain and I can put it anywhere on that middle link.

And I'm just going to slide it up

to the link and then I just sort of nestled the loop

around that ring. Now I can wrap that loop. So to do that,

I'm gonna just let the chain hang off the side there and let me use my round-nose pliers

to grasp across the loop that I just made. And I'm gonna bring that tail around two times.

That secures that loop. And then

I want to cut the end of that wire trim it with my wire cutters. Just reach in there and snap it off.

So now if we look at the earring,

we can see that that dangle is hanging in the bottom link, even though it's attached to the middle one. Now

we're going to make the next one which is the blue one. If I look at this, the blue one is our next one.

So to do that, I'm gonna do the same thing. I'm gonna take my headpin and I'm going to slide on the pearl and

I'm gonna make a wrapped loop.

So to do the loop part, I grasp the headpin just above the pearl,

bend the wire ninety degrees toward me,

reposition to the top,

bend it around the top jaw,

reposition so the bottom jaw is in the loop now, and then finish pulling that wire around to make that loop. There's the loop.

And I make sure I put it on my earring. And

again, we want to hang it,

it wants to hang, in the center of this one, but it gets attached to the one above it.

So I put it anywhere on that top

link in the chain.

And I'm just sliding the loop up

over the chain link. Like that. And

then now we want to make the wrap. And I turn the work around like this, because I think it's easier for me to hold

the

loop across with my right hand and wrap with my left hand.

So instead of holding it this way and trying to

reach around the other side, you can just reposition your work.

Turn it how it works best for you ,so that your movements are more natural for you. I

pull that tail around two times. And

then just like we did before and reach in there with my wire cutters and clip that end.

Now we've got two of the pearls in here, if I can find the earring wire, and hang it. Look at that.

Isn't that neat? So for the last one,

we don't want to hang it off the top link, because it will hang down here at the bottom. Just like this one did.

Instead the last pearl is gonna hang from the earring wire itself.

So to do that

I'm just gonna put the last pearl, the green one, onto the headpin and then I'm gonna use my round-nose pliers and

I'm gonna pinch it right above the

pearl, like I did before. Make a 90-degree bend towards me and

then make a loop over the top.

Reposition the pliers into the bottom of the loop, bottom jaw, and

then with this one, the top pearl, we're actually going to attach it to the earring wire and not the loop. So I can go

ahead and close the wraps. I can go ahead and secure it.

And now I can trim

the headpin wire with my wire cutters just like I did before. And then to attach this last pearl

I'm going to do it just like I did when I put the chain link

onto the earring wire. I'm going to come up over the back of the earring wire here,

slide that on,

bring it down into the earring wire loop there and

then use either my round-nose pliers or my chain-nose pliers, I can close that up.

Now that top pearl is hanging in the middle of the top link, even though it's attached to the earring wire. And

that is how you make these

fun

anywhere between fifty to five hundred dollars in one shot by doing something

or slogan or a name this is what I call it and you think your stuff in these

guys are dumb well listen now I'm gonna give you the opportunity with this

website that you can actually you know give your feedback in your input into

something for like a large company or a small company starting off from the

they accept yours but before we get into that I want you to subscribe to my

youtube channel click on the little Bell notifications so every time I make it

started and we have the ability to work from home full-time okay without any

further ado this is the website I'm talking about it is called on to the

dumb naming force okay naming forest is a website where you can

go on you can apply to be in contest first you join say you want to be a

could put your input into it and if your name that you pick or you think would be

a good name for a company is chosen you can make money anywhere between $50 to

opportunity for people who are really creative always saving themselves that's

a stupid name I could have made a better name than that for a company hey folks

here's your chance all right now obviously this is the home page this is

where someone would come if they have a company they want to name their company

something different you start your own contest and look at this starting at a

hundred and ninety-nine dollars that's what companies are paying naming forced

to get people on board that want to like give them ideas obviously this is a big

brainstorming session okay except they're paying people to do this right

show let's look at some contests active name contest look at cybersecurity

defense they want a new name right now there are seven days left in this

contest if you join now you can put your two cents in two hundred fifty dollars

paying big bucks right to get these names private contest

sign interview description okay so you they have to know who you are and the

reason they put that in there for you know you have to be signed onto it

because basically a lot of this is non-disclosure so a certain contest that

you enter you're gonna have non-disclosure agreement you're gonna

have to agree to so you can't you know say it's I did something for this

company I did something for that company and I did this and that the other thing

it's really harsh these other ones here that like cigar-lighter company they

don't care 100 bucks hundred bucks but these I'm betting that these are pretty

decent size companies that they have private contests and they don't want

anyone to know or their competitors to know what's going on and here we go here

they came down to the last four here contest in voting phase ok well that's

interesting hundred hundred dollars okay recently

named businesses and these are the ones they've actually finished already so it

gives you an idea naming force.com these are the contents

you would enter give your ideas and let's just say you know hypothetically

speaking you know I'm not good at naming names I have no idea where I would

starting some inspiration well guess what folks I found something for you

cigar lighter company that doesn't help me

mayhem cigar lighter company better world cigar lighter company ingame

Rainmaker cigar company this or below actually helps you kind of be creative a

little bit and think of things outside the box

people are looking for logos and whatnot that actually might be helpful chamber

cigar lighter company they're just names they throw a blue dot cigar lighter

company they're their names they throw it at you just to get you thinking about

sir Symphony Symphony cigar lighter company

I'll see that's interesting they get you thinking it gets the juices flowing

about if you want to actually give them a name that you think you think that

would fit that type of company you see something on here that might actually

trigger cigar lighter company core that kind of have rolls off the tongue Mad

Dogs the guy a cigar lighter company that's pretty cool

but this this over over low actually is really an awesome thing and actually you

could use that for personal reasons if you want to come with your own brand

name or something like that you could throw it in here but I wanted

to show you this today because I think this is really really cool I always talk

to these people say oh these guys are talking about I have better names than

that no here you go folks have you come with a better name

I've even giving you a tool here that you could use in order to help you be

more creative you can come here at an aiming force and enter their contest oh

and I want to show you this you just come to the top of the menu here he's

become a namer okay you see this list here register as

a namer you know basic information like we always say and everything they pay

through PayPal so if you win the contest boom you get the hundred dollars the 250

the 500 whatever the case may be thrown into your PayPal transfer to your bank

account you're good to go alright guys it doesn't get much easier than this so

if you think you're creative with names you're very unique and like I said I

gave you a tool that you could use over low over low IQ no to use to help you

out to come up with certain types of names for certain descriptions or kind

of companies that you'll be dealing with ok go for it that's what I say it's

5 Things To Make This Diwali, Hassle Free | 5 Things To Do This Diwali | Diwali Tips | - Duration: 5:37.

It's that time of the year all over again

The weather has changed the lights have come out and the preparations have already been started

We are all set to show that down time spent working out

This festival of light and Happiness usually filled with lots of sweets and loud crackers

Can be saved and healthy too if executed properly

Hi, my name is Hiteish you're watching second chapter of bunny in the blue jacket

Diwali is just a few days away

And today I'm going to tell you those five things which we all should take care of during any festivals to make them hassle-free

So let's get started

It's not so easy to see perfectly organized all the time

Especially in the time of during festivals when we are overworked and have lots of things to do every day

The simplest way to keep the track of all activities and tasks is by making a "to do List" and planning everything accordingly

You can start of by making two types of lists. a short-term and a long-term one

You can put all those activities in the short-term one, which you think you can complete in the same day. For example

dusting and cleaning or Room And then following the same things in room B

Make sure you put all those activities in shorter one, which you think you will complete in a given time frame

In long term list. You can add all those activities which can be done in any time frame

Just two days before the festivities, for example, you can shop for the groceries on the first day

You can call and confirm the decorator one second day and on the third day

you can start off by making all the sweets just

Make sure that you have everything planned out at least two days before the big festival so that you have enough time left

to enjoy

We are so busy during festivals that we usually forget where we have kept up things and then we waste most of our time in

Finding them. So it is very important for us to keep things visible

Be it your To Do list or the the medicines if you're prescribed to any. make sure you are keeping all those things at places from where you will be able to pick them in

Seconds if necessary. Believe me if you will organize your day properly and keep your things in a systematic way, you will definitely be impressed with the results.

It becomes habitual to have a relaxed lifestyle during festivals and holidays.

many of us usually stay away from home and diwali is one of those occasions when we head back homes to have a quality time with our loved ones.

So if you're not able to attend your gym classes regularly during festivals

Make sure you start your day can definitely start today with 40 push ups following with 20 minutes of running

You can also go on a small walk with your whole family post dinner so that you can fuel the digestion process

It may be tough but being conscious of what you eat during festivals helps a lot! When we have an idea of our food intake

We can easily make adjustments in our diet later

it is very important for us to keep track of what we are eating and

Equally important to make sure that there are regular intervals between each refection.

This will definitely help you out in cutting those extra calories and will keep your metabolism in check!

Remember it is not so much about what you are eating. But rather about how much of it you are consuming!

During the festival season almost every time is a snack time

You just cannot put down your host and guests by refusing not to eat and drinking water at that time does the trick!

Apart from that we are so busy during the festivities that

we forget to drink water! Make sure you're drinking enough water through out the day.

Keep drinking two glasses of water in every few hours.
