Youtube daily which Nov 29 2018

Jason Moser: "I have a question about the war on cash podcast from November 19th, 2018.

Jason and Matt mentioned that they like the buybacks of Visa, but are OK with small dividends

to fund future growth. I'm confused.

Don't both buybacks and dividends decrease the amount of cash to fund future growth?"

He goes on to say he would personally prefer dividends over buybacks.

That's cash in the pocket.

But on the other hand, increasing dividends generally represents a much stronger commitment

by management in the faith of the business because companies generally do not like to

cut the dividend, and dividends provide a more direct reward to shareholders.

Landon, you make a very good point here.

Regardless of whether it's a dividend or a buyback, the company has to fund that one way or another.

When you have a business like Visa, or MasterCard for that matter, that is as big as they are,

and have very high-margin business models, as they both do, the nice thing about that

type of investment opportunity for investors is that while the growth is going to be there,

the growth will generally be organic, and it'll be tied to general consumer spending.

These are business models that generate a lot of surplus cash.

They have to do something with it.

There's only so much they can reinvest in the business before they start getting a little bit

outside of their circle of competence, and you start seeing some deteriorating returns

on those investments.

So, you reward your shareholders either through a dividend or share repurchases.

I tend to prefer dividends, just because, like you said, Landon, they are cash in the pocket.

But by the same token, these companies do know that material buybacks over the course

of time can play out on the share price.

The fact of the matter is, when you reduce that number of shares outstanding,

that's going to give you a little bit of a different look on the value of those shares.

It should, in theory, make them a little bit more expensive over time.

All in all, we like to see a healthy mix there, and feel like, with Visa and MasterCard,

perhaps the opportunity there is to grow that dividend a little bit more substantially over time.

That's what we'll be hoping that they do.

Value Stocks vs. Growth Stocks: Which Way Should You Invest? - Duration: 2:29.

Robert Brokamp: So far we've covered a lot of bland-looking food. A lot of white. A lot of brown.

If I add some color, I'm moving on to that jiggly staple of Thanksgiving tables -- cranberry sauce!

Alison Southwick: Now are you of the family that needs to have that cranberry sauce

come out of a can and keep those ridges evident or are you, no, it needs to actually look

like cranberries? Or do you guys actually buy fresh cranberries?

Brokamp: It depends on whether I'm in charge of providing it for the meal.

With our family, I'm usually in charge of bringing the drinks, which gives you an idea

of how much faith my family has in my cooking.

If I were in charge of the cranberries, they would come out of the can which, by the way,

according to Smithsonian Magazine, is how something like 74% of people do it.

Only 26% of people actually get the cranberries and make the sauce.

So, in our portfolio that we are setting before us, I'm putting cranberries as style investing.

Up to now, we've been talking about investing according to size, but there are other factors,

and one of them is style; basically growth vs. value.

Every portfolio should have some growth and value just like every Thanksgiving table should

have some cranberries.

But depending on how you want to lean [a little bit toward growth, a little toward value]

is really up to you.

The long-term returns on whether growth beats value or vice versa is somewhat inconclusive.

Plenty of academic evidence shows that value outperforms, but there are many periods where

growth outperforms for a long period, including our recent period.

Over the last several years, growth has just significantly outperformed value.

I'm not going to go one way or the other.

People like Jack Bogle say over the long term it doesn't matter, but you have a style just

like you have a cranberry preference. Some people love tech stocks.

[If you] love finding the new up-and-coming companies [in Motley Fool lingo like Rule Breakers],

then you're going to be leaning towards growth.

If you are more of a Warren Buffett-type investor, you like getting a good deal, or if you want

your portfolio to have a better emphasis on things like dividends,

you're probably going to lean more towards value.

But in the end over the long term, it probably doesn't matter.

Fury reveals the text he sent to Wilder which led to heavyweight clash - News Live - Duration: 2:41.

Tyson Fury has revealed the text message exchange between himself and Deontay Wilder that led to Saturday's fight in Los Angeles

The former heavyweight champion will bid to upset the odds when he challenges the current WBC ruler at the Staples Center

His original plan was to gently work his way back into contention following his near three-year lay-off from the ring

Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta were beaten with considerable ease as Fury shed his ring rust

But when Anthony Joshua failed to agree terms with Wilder earlier this year, the traveller stepped in

"I'll tell you what happened. Wilder will tell the story better than me because he's got the messages in his phone," he told IFL TV

"When this whole situation was going on with Joshua and Wilder, like they were supposed to fight and then they weren't fighting, they were asking this much money, that much money

"I sort of thought to myself, you know what, everyone is getting excited about these two fighting and it's not going to happen

"So I text Wilder and I said, 'Look, forget Joshua, he's not the real deal, he's obviously got no bottle, but if you want to fight a real fighting man, who will step up and defend the country, then you're looking at the right man'

"He said, 'Yeah, let's do it. F*** Joshua. Let's do the fight. Let's give the fans what they want'

"  Joshua had hoped to face Wilder at Wembley in the autumn but instead knocked out Alexander Povetkin in the seventh round

He is due to return to the national stadium on April 13 - with Wilder his No.1 choice

But should Fury dethrone the American this weekend, he will be mandated to rematch Wilder next year - leaving Joshua out in the cold again

Eng sub Shuju return 2 EP21-"not eat?" Which members are emerging as candidates for the early - Duration: 5:05.

[E.L.F.'s Table] [SJ Returns 2]

[Trying the second table] Okay.

We should rinse our mouth for fair evaluation.

[Are you from Michelin?] You know they rinse their mouth before trying something new.

[Rinsing his mouth so hard]

That's right. He should rinse his mouth before eating grilled beef ribs.

It's okay. It might not look so good but as soon as he eats my beef tripe...

[Why is it yours?] What are you talking about? I recommended the restaurant.

[Keeping him in check after cold noodles were not well received] But it was me who chose the menu.

If you had chosen sushi, they would've eaten it first.

[The oldest two squabbling over little things] -Dip it in the sauce. -No, not Eunhyuk.

[Eat the beef ribs] Dip it in the lemon sauce first,

[Shindong starts to cast a spell] No, you should've dipped it in the lemon first.

-Is he eating the ribs? -Is it the ribs?

[Trying beef ribs as if he's under a spell] Next, I'll try this beef ribs.

Is this a sauce?

[Shingdong's pick! Juicy beef ribs]

[Everyone knows] Eunhyuk would love that Yakiniku restaurant.

[Beef is the safe menu to choose] What Eunhyuk and Donghae both love is beef.

Right. I'm confident.

Because they both love beef.

They love beef.

[Will Shindong's prediction become reality?] I think I'm going to win this.

There are two sauces.

-What sauce is this? -A lemon sauce. -Lemon and...

[Soy sauce, Lemon sauce] soy sauce. I think this will be spicy.

[What sauce should I try first?]

[Trying the soy sauce first]

[Eunhyuk, you love beef.]

[Smiling]

[Failed...] -This is too cold. -He says it's too cold.

I'll make allowance for it.

[Keeping Shindong in check this time] -Don't do it. -No, you don't have to.

-The beef tasted like that in the first place. -Why does he making allowance for it?

[You're doing well, Eunhyuk] The beef tasted like that in the first place.

[Drenching the beef in the sauce] -I'll go for the lemon sauce. -But...

[That lemon sauce is good]

[Sour] You should've known that

the beef would become cold.

[Feeling dizzy] You should've thought about it before choosing it.

[A tangy lemon favor] How much lemon is put in this? It's too sour.

[Frustrated] You should've slightly dipped it in the sauce.

-And... -I think the beef will be... -You should've slightly dipped it in the sauce.

[Beef ribs is the last place] -the last place. -Why did you drench it in the sauce?

[Will he be the last place?] -You were born in the year of ox. Why did you pick your friends? -Yeah.

Lemon is supposed to be good for you health. Let's drink this.

[The 33-year-old is concerned about his health]

[Explosion of refreshing flavor] This is too sour.

[Feeling dizzy]

But I feel healthy.

Okay, Enough with this beef.

[Lemon sauce drew their attention over beef] You need to eat beef right from the grill.

[Beef rib is giving him a hope] I think the beef just got eliminated.

The beef tribe. It's yours.

[Trying the last table] Beef tribe?

[Leeteuk's pick! Marinated stir-fried beef tripe] [The spicy seasoning tickles your palate]

That sure tastes good.

[They had rice mixed in the beef tribe seasoning before coming here]

-I'll make my decision after eating this. -Okay.

Five points for this.

[What are you talking about?] Ten points.

[Bravo] 15 points, 20 points.

The seasoning is so good

-when mixed with rice. -Why don't we recommend this beef tribe, too?

[Jumping on the bandwagon] -Right? -He said he like beef tribe. Be quiet.

Did you say we should recommend this beef tribe together?

[Jumping on the bandwagon] Be quiet.

[But there was one hurdle to the beef tribe]

[Hesitant] The beef tribe is really...

[He likes beef tribe] -I love the beef tribe. [He doesn't like beef tribe]-I don't.

Is it okay not to eat this?

The seasoning is great! Mix it with rice!

[Donhae loves the beef tribe.]

[Putting some rice on top of the beef tribe]

[Okay, that's how you eat it] Put some rice, Donghae. There you go.

[Taking a big mouthful of beef and rice]

[How is it?]

[It's good]

[Eunhyuk is still hesitant]

[Picking at it] Which one should I eat?

[Leeteuk's heart pounds so hard]

[Taking a bite with courage]

The seasoning tastes nice.

[Eating some rice, too] That's it.

[Relived to see nice response] Mix it with the seasoning.

The rice is good.

[This restaurant is famous for rice] The rice tastes good.

Maybe it was a great move to bring rice with the beef tribe.

[Regretting] I shouldn't have let him bring the rice.

-Mix the rice with the seasoning, Eunhyuk. -I should't have allowed it.

[He gave 20 points for the mixed rice] Eat your rice and the seasoning.

The person who recommended this table wants you to mix the seasoning with the rice.

[Why did he tell them?]

[Almost crying]-He can't tell them that! They should eat whatever way they want. -They deserve to know.

[Whining] Then he should've told them how to eat the beef ribs.

He should've grilled it in front of them with his cigarette lighter or something.

I don't want to try it.

They have been mixed inside my mouth.

[Uhh] They have a cheap taste.

Can we go home now?

No, we should say goodbye first.

[Thank you for the food] Thank you.
