Youtube daily make Nov 28 2018

What's going on guys this is Kyle Shigekuni from DrinkRoot

Today I'm going to show you how to make some very strong kava

Now I'm all about getting the best bang for the buck in terms of kava

and this is the routine that I use that works best for me

I'd love to hear what works best for you guys the different types of techniques that you guys have as well

So definitely respond in the comments below and let's create an ongoing discussion on how to perfect our grog

Okay so here's a couple of things that you'll be needing

You'll need some kava, a strainer, a large bowl, coconut milk

and also a temperature-controlled way to boil water

so for strainers that's a personal preference you can use; a cheesecloth, traditional muslin bag, jelly strainer, I heard of people using pantyhoses

I personally use a 75 micron nut bag. I think that this is the best size and I like it because the consistency.

The coconut milk although it's here for taste it's also very important for aiding the extraction process

The actives kava contains are called kavalactones

and these are responsible for the euphoric and relaxing effects of the drink

When you combine kava root with water it releases many of these compounds. But not all kavalactones are water-soluble, some are fat-soluble.

So when you combine the two (water & coconut milk) the fat acts as an extra emulsifier and will bring out more of the active material in the drink.

This is about two ounces of pre-weighed kava which is about six tablespoons

and that comes out to three to four good drinks.

I recommend about a 1-to-4 ratio of coconut milk to water. But it doesn't have to be perfect.

Now I'm gonna pour in some water this is at 140 degrees Fahrenheit

The reason why is because anything over 140 degrees Fahrenheit will begin to break down the kavalactones

And I'll let this sit for anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour so that it can extract

All right so now the kava has been sitting for about an hour

You can see most of it has seeped into the into the water coconut mixture

Now let's work on mashing this out

It's kind of like squeezing out a sponge or like wringing out a shirt.

The coconut milk is definitely going to ease a little bit of the bite

but I always recommend to keep a bite of fruit on hand. Bula

Hey thanks for watching guys. Remember a great grog starts off with great kava

So make sure your vendor is selling quality noble kava

This brew process is what works for me, but you may have improvements

So if you have any suggestions let's talk about it in the comments below and let's all work together on improving our grogs.

Also make sure to head on over to drinkroot.com for details on deals and new releases of premium Vanuatan Kava

Bula!

How to make friends and meet new people - Duration: 7:45.

what's up everybody wanted to do a quick one for you today on the basic principle

of making new friends and meeting new people I didn't realize how much of a

problem this was for people until I started BROJO actually when I first

went to university I realized how much of a problem this was I've had friends

ever since I was a young child same group of friends we went to high school

together and then I went to university where I literally knew no one there and

all of a sudden I was faced with this bizarre dilemma I don't know how to make

friends I'm like a fully grown adult and I don't know how to make friends and

this caused me so much anxiety that any chance I had in the early stages of

university of actually making friends was ruined by my constant worry about

how to do it and I spent the entire three years of university quite lonely

because of this bizarre inability to make friends I want to start by saying

how normal this is we're not taught how to do it it's assumed that you'll know

how your parents don't teach you your friends are just sort of people you sat

next to in school or people that you work with and everybody's kind of not

talking about this big secret that nobody really knows how's how it's done

okay there are some people obviously who do know but many of us don't and we

struggle especially if we have to move to a new city or we move to a new job or

we just don't like the people that we're associating with and we want a higher

quality circle so today I'm just going to give you a broad approach to help you

go out there and make new friends first off the biggest problem I see with the

coaching that I do the social confidence coaching most people are either trying too

hard or they're not trying at all and many fluctuate between these two so

people are either going out there desperately hoping to make a friend or

find a partner or they give up completely and stay at home playing

video games neither of these approaches works very well and you might think that

you've put a lot of effort in to try to make friends but you might have

missed a key element that would have ruined that attempt for you and that key

element is neediness your biggest enemy when it comes to making friends

ironically is trying to make friends trying hard

desperately trying to fill a space in your life with people when you have

this mindset people can feel it and it's off-putting for them it also puts you

under a lot of pressure overwhelms you with stress and makes socializing

unpleasant for you it makes finding friends at chore which

of course is going to demotivate you all you need to do to make new friends no

matter who you are I've had clients who are strongly autistic I've had clients

with like incredible mental illnesses and various personality disorders none

of them have been incapable of making friends okay it's not really about you

humans really can connect quite easily your biggest enemy is neediness and a

solution all this neediness is to change your focus instead of trying to make

friends and focusing on bringing people into your life instead shifting towards

trying to create a fun and enjoyable lifestyle for yourself your primary

intention should be to enjoy what you're doing and the secondary intention is to

make friends that's the key problem that most people who are trying too hard make

their primary intention is to make friends and that creates so much neediness

for them and they can't see what the neediness is doing it's just repulsive to

people it's not about you personally it's just this sense of you trying to

get someone and they can feel it and they run away from it but if your

primary intention is to have a good time if you learn how to have a good time by

yourself with yourself doing an activity no matter how people feel about you

all that repulsion that you are doing goes away and it's now

easy to be your friend it's easy to meet you and talk to you without feeling

pressure without feeling like I'm gonna have to take care of you or anything

like that so the practical application of this is simply to do what you love

and try to make it as social as possible to give yourself the opportunity to meet

people but primarily be doing it because it's something you love hobbies classes

trips events visiting venues going to do something with a primary intention that's

for you to enjoy the thing you're doing and nobody else has to like you for that

to happen it's not dependent on approval from anybody else now you can go and

do this all by yourself you can read books you can play video games you can

workout at home you can go hiking by yourself if you also want to make

friends and you don't want to sabotage that all you have to do is combine these

things make sure that you're doing what you love

but that it's the social version of it instead of working out at home join a

fitness boot camp instead of reading a book by yourself join a book club

instead of cooking alone go to a cooking class find the social version of what

you love to do and then still go with the primary intention of just doing it

because it's enjoyable but now you're surrounded by people who could be a

great fit for you because they're also into the same shit that

you're into the likelihood that you could be a good match is way higher than some

stranger at like a random meetup okay or a friend of a friend these are people

who are into your stuff they're doing the same thing you love to do it's an

easy conversation to start which brings us to the final point once you're there

initiating conversations these are the kind of three main ingredients to create

new friends one is the mindset of you doing it for yourself just having fun

for yourself secondary is to meet friends second thing is doing what you

love and doing it as socially as possible and third thing is initiating

interactions when you're there as an additional extra thing to do

but making sure you do do it we have a course at BROJO on initiating

connections we've got a whole practical step-by-step process where you can build up

courage through experience and experiments through meeting new people

and you can apply this at the things that you love to do so we'll show you

how to start the conversation at that cooking class without being fake or

using lines or scripts if you want to check out that course there'll be a link

below but that's the key once I learned this little process once I went out and started

just doing what I did for the love of it actually I did it by mistake I set up

this lifestyle because I'd kind of given up on meeting people I just wanted

to focus on me and ironically that bought me into dancing salsa and zouk

dancing that created a whole community of people many of whom are now my

friends so just getting out there doing what you love and then initiating when

you're there that's the formula all right that's what nobody taught you at

school okay if you enjoyed that subscribe you can click the BROJO logo

somewhere here comment below with your feedback and stories or get in touch

with me personally dan@brojo.co.nz if you need help with this I'll see you

next time Cheers

How Much Do Affiliate Marketers Make? (Make Money!) - Duration: 6:26.

Chances are that you've about affiliate marketing and you want to know how you can use it to

make more money.

Well, you came to the right place.

What's up, go-getter?

It's Angie with Fab and Focused, and on my channel I talk about successful side hustle

advice to help you turn it into your main hustle.

Be sure to subscribe to my channel and hit that bell so that way you can get notified

when I post a new video every week.

Let's start off with what is affiliate marketing actually is.

Affiliate marketing is when a company pays you to promote their products through a commission.

Basically you promote the product, someone buys the product through you, and then you

get a percentage of the total sales for your work.

And there's a lot of affiliate programs out there, but they usually work the same way.

Now, I've made a couple thousand dollars myself with affiliate marketing, so I am so excited

to share this with you guys.

Let's talk about getting started.

Before you do anything else, you need to figure out your personal brand.

If you already have a social media presence then this is not going to be hard to figure

out.

What are most of your posts about?

And what subjects get the most people talking on your page?

Once you've figured out what kinds of things people associate with you personally, then

you want to look for products and services that match your image.

And if you don't have a social media presence, then that's fine.

Just think about things that you like, or know a lot about.

Once you've identified a few things that you feel really comfortable and confident talking

about, then you can look for brands that match your interests.

And actually I accidentally did this and I made $4,000 the first time with affiliate

marketing.

I made a video about it of course.

I'll add that link somewhere here and in the description below.

Go ahead and check it out if you want.

The good news is that most brands have some kind of affiliate program.

There's literally thousands to choose from.

And you can find the right one just by simply Googling it.

If you're into cosmetics, then just type cosmetic affiliate program.

If you're into health, the health affiliate program.

You get the idea, right?

Just a little side note, sometimes you're going to have to go through a whole application

process before you can get approved to promote that product or service.

Brands are very selective on who they want promoting their products, at least some.

All right, now I want to hear from you guys.

Comment below and tell me if you can think of a product or service that you're really

interesting in trying to promote.

With that in mind, let's talk about making money.

Once you're all signed up and approved the company is going to send you an affiliate

link.

And this affiliate link is basically your golden ticket because any purchases made with

that link is going to make you money.

Now with that said, commissions do vary from program to program.

So it could literally be 1% to 75% or more that you could be making off commission for

a particular product you're promoting.

Now, where you post that link is entirely up to you.

But I wanted to give you a few options.

The first are Facebook posts.

They are a great way for you to experiment with the wording to see what works and what

doesn't work.

Another one is Instagram.

It's great, but the thing is that you can't really link it to the caption or the comment,

you have to put it in the bio section.

So when people actually click on it, it'll take them to that product or service.

Another one is through your YouTube channel.

You can and you should include it your description of your video.

And if you like writing and have a blog that you can actually post it there as well.

As far as the affiliate link itself, the one that the company usually gives you is pretty

long and it looks pretty spammy, so what I like to do is use a tool called Bitly to shorten

it up.

What you basically do is you copy the long link and then you paste it on there, and what

it'll do, it'll generate a shorter one.

That's the one that I use to post on my Instagram bio section or my Facebook post.

I encourage you guys to do the same.

I'll add that link for you below, if you want to go check that out.

All right, now let's get into the pros and cons of affiliate marketing.

Like any other job, affiliate marketing does have its share of pros and cons that you should

consider.

The first pro is that it's passive income, which means that as long as your link is active

and up then you're going to make money.

And if you get really good at it, then you can make this your main source of income.

Another pro is that there's really no startup costs, which means that you don't really need

to have a website, a business, to start doing affiliate marketing.

The third pro, and it's probably my favorite, is that you don't need to create a product

or store it anywhere in your house or anything like that.

The fourth is that you can use social media, and that's free to use.

So literally there's no excuses to not do this.

And last but not least is that you get to talk about products and services that you

like, which is always fun.

With that said, the biggest con is that if you don't have an online presence, or it's

very low, it is going to take you some time to generate some money.

Now there is a way of promoting products and services, but just keep in mind that nobody

wants someone who is constantly and aggressively just telling them to buy, buy, buy.

So instead, start off by explaining the benefits, the features, your experience with the product,

things like that so it comes off more of like a conversation.

Just don't ever come across really sales-y.

Because if you do, people are not going to buy it.

Now, I did want to mention a few disclaimers.

The first is that you're obligated by the FTC to tell people that you're going to be

making commission off that product or service that you're promoting.

The thing is that you don't you deceiving people.

If you have a blog, you can just put a little disclaimer on there.

If you have a YouTube channel or you're making a video on that product and you can state

it at the end.

And also put it in the description below.

What I've found is that when you're honest and upfront and transparent with people, then

they're going to want to buy even more, whatever it is that you're promoting.

But anyway, I encourage you to go to the FTC site and review all of that before you start

promoting.

I'll add that link for you below, just to make it a little easier.

Now, the second thing that I do want to warn you is that reputation is everything.

With that said, always be selective of the products or services that you promote.

If you promote a very cheap and bad product just to get money, then you're eventually

going to ruin your reputation, and then no one is going to want to buy from you.

And that's a wrap.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below and I will be more than happy

to help you.

Now if you want to know more about affiliate marketing, then I invite you to join my exclusive

group called CLUB Fan and Focused where you're going to meet like-minded people who are starting

their business or side hustle.

You're going to get encouragement from me and your Fab fam.

The link to join is in the description below.

If you liked this video, please let me know by liking it below, subscribing, and also

sharing it with your friends.

Until next time.

Okay, let's get it.

So, oh.

Couldn't we just let it stick in there?

This damn hair!

And then you get a commission of the total ... okay, so.

Here it goes again.

This little piece of hair.

Damn it.

Well, you came to the right place.

We're going to be talking about blah, blah, blah.

How to Make The Worst Chocolate Chip Cookies - Duration: 7:30.

Hey everybody Sam here from Sugar Spun Run and today I'll be showing you how to make The Worst Chocolate Chip Cookies

That's right. You heard it correctly.

These chocolate chip cookies are the worst. If you want the full story on how they got their name,

you're going to have to check out my blog post,

but the gist of it is that they are going to ruin every other chocolate chip cookie out there for you.

These cookies are absolutely addictive, and I have hundreds of five-star reviews on the original recipe that all agree on the same thing.

These cookies really are the worst. To begin,

you're going to need 1 cup or 2 sticks of unsalted butter and you're going to want to melt this.

Now here's where a lot of people go wrong. Once you melt your butter, it is so important that you let it cool.

Usually in the microwave your butter will get really hot,

and if you add your other ingredients right away,

what you'll actually do is you'll melt your sugar and you're going to have a greasy cookie dough

that is never going to form nice soft cookies. They're going to spread way too much in the oven.

So what I like to do is, I'll microwave my butter and then I let it cool for at least five minutes,

but usually it may need even a little bit longer. If you take a look at what I have here

This butter has actually even started to re-solidify a little bit that will work fine.

But yours doesn't have to be quite at this point. You just don't want it to be hot to the touch

Now that it's cooled we can add our sugar. You're going to need one and a half cups of tightly packed light brown sugar.

We'll also add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.

You'll stir your butter and sugars together until they're well combined.

Next we'll add two large eggs and you want these to be at room temperature, because we're adding them to melted butter.

You don't want them to be cold, or it'll shock your butter.

It's going to make your ingredients not combine as nicely as we want them to. So room-temperature eggs are the way to go.

Now if you don't have room temperature eggs on hand and they're all cold in the refrigerator a quick and easy way to bring them

up to room temperature is to just put them in a bowl of warm water, and let them sit there for about 15 minutes, and

they'll be at room temperature before you know it. Next comes our secret ingredient for these worst-ever chocolate chip cookies,

and that is a quarter cup of maple syrup.

Now if you're worried that this is going to make your chocolate chip cookies taste like pancakes,

don't freak out, none of my taste-testers could tell that I added maple syrup to the cookie dough.

Now it's still important. What this does is it is going to add a great flavor enhancement to your cookies.

It's just a secret ingredient that really brings out the flavor.

Don't skip this and I want to note that you can use either pure maple syrup or that fake store-bought pancake syrup.

Honestly, most of the time I use pancake syrup because it's less expensive, but either one will work just fine in this recipe.

It's been tested both ways.

Scrape that out, because we want to get every drop of that we can, and

we'll also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and then we'll stir everything together.

Now we are going to need a separate bowl for our dry ingredients.

This recipe uses three and a quarter cup of all-purpose flour.

Now the flour is another place where people can go wrong when making these cookies.

If you scoop your flour into your measuring cup, you can end up really packing that in and end up with more flour than the

recipe calls for and you're going to end up with thick cakey cookies. Likewise,

if you don't put enough flour in your measuring cup you're going to end up with cookies that spread too much and come out flat.

You don't want that either.

My recommendation is, honestly to use a scale, and I have included weight

measurements for all of my ingredients in the printable recipe. If you want to check those out. I'll also link to the scale.

I use it's really inexpensive under 15 bucks and it has just completely changed the way that I bake in my kitchen.

So once you have your flour measured we are going to add another key ingredient, and that is two teaspoons of corn starch.

This ingredient is critical for giving you soft chewy cookies that aren't cakey, but that don't spread in the oven. Don't leave it out.

We'll also add a teaspoon of baking powder, a teaspoon of baking soda, and a teaspoon of salt, and

then we'll stir these together until they're really well combined.

Now that you've combined your dry ingredients, we are going to add these to our wet ingredients.

I recommend adding the dry ingredients gradually, I'll usually add it in about four or five parts, and you'll stir everything until it's nicely combined.

Now comes the most important part of these chocolate chip cookies, and that is the chocolate chips.

You will need two full cups of chocolate chips for this recipe, and I like to mix things up a little bit by using a

half cup of mini chocolate chips. Now for the remaining one and a half cups,

I like to use just standard semi-sweet chocolate chips.

And what I'm going to do is I'll reserve about 1/4 to 1/3

cup of this for after the cookies are finished baking. We're going to press them on top.

It's going to make them look nice and just a little extra pretty. I like to do this,

but you can skip it if you want.

Now comes the worst part of these chocolate chip cookies, and no we are not going to be adding nails or scorpions or anything, we

are going to have to chill our cookie dough.

You're going to want to cover this with cling wrap and the dough is going to need to chill for at least 30 minutes.

Once your cookie dough has finished chilling,

You're going to want to pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and we can begin scooping our cookie dough.

I like to make these cookies pretty big. So I'll scoop mine to be about two to two and a half tablespoons in size.

We are going to gently roll them between our hands and what we want them to look like, it's almost

egg-shaped. You don't want to roll a perfectly round ball. You want them to be slightly taller than they are wide.

As you probably noticed I like to line my cookie sheet with parchment

paper. It makes the cleanup really easy.

If you don't have parchment paper,

you'll just bake these directly on an ungreased cookie sheet, and you'll want to space these cookies about two inches apart.

They are going to spread quite a bit.

You'll want to bake your chocolate chip cookies and your 350 degrees Fahrenheit preheated oven for about 13 minutes.

Keep in mind that if you make your cookies smaller than I did,

they are going to need less time to bake. Another few notes

I want to add is, do not place your cookie dough on a warm cookie sheet.

Make sure you always let your cookie sheets cool completely to room temperature before adding any more cookie dough,

and while you're not rolling out your cookie dough,

keep it in the fridge. That way it doesn't get too warm and the dough doesn't get too sticky and difficult to roll.

Once your chocolate-chip cookies have finished baking, they should be lightly golden brown around the edges. Now, here's the trick

I told you about, and the reason we saved some of those chocolate chips from earlier.

One thing I like to do is while the cookies are still warm, like one to two minutes after them coming out of the oven,

I will gently press additional chocolate chips onto the tops of the cookies just gently nestling them into the surfaces.

As you can see, it just makes them look a little extra pretty, this isn't completely necessary,

you can skip this if you want. It's just a nice finishing touch that I like to do.

Now these cookies are still going to be slightly underdone in the center so you're going to let them cool completely

on the baking sheet. This is going to let them finish baking all the way through, besides

they're going to be really fragile at this point.

So you don't want to move them anyway, and then once they're finished cooling

they'll be baked all the way through, but they'll also be really soft and chewy.

That is how you make the worst-ever chocolate chip cookies. This is a recipe

you have to try and when you do, please let me know how you like it, and if it ruins your life or not.

Thank you guys so much for watching and I will see you next time.

I like that he has the touch of mustard, but he does not know much, so I do not exaggerate mustard either

that depends on the taste of each one

we put a slice of ham, a cheese

and another of ham, and we put back a slice of bread. We can have mayonnaise again.

and we turn it over so that it is face down

This we set aside and we are going to prepare the egg. We have to beat it

we beat it well

and now it's time to pour the butter so that it melts

and while we are going to take our sandwich and we are going to put an egg everywhere

I give with a brush, there are people who wet it inside but I think it's overdoing

a little bit on the outside and that's it, that has a little bit of egg flavor but not that it's an omelet

We put everything right

I did not finish spreading it well and if I was a bit stuck ... as you will see it is not well at all

scattered

Take the opportunity to remember that you can subscribe and like the video

if it stays a little stuck, nothing happens either

The question is that more or less the egg is made and made tortilla

do not stay raw

and here you have the final result I hope you liked video, if it is like this, give it a like, subscribe and see you in the next one.

How to Make a Rudolph Lollipop | Sophie's World - Duration: 2:33.

hi I'm Sophie and welcome to my world today I've got a little sweet treat

that's super fun to make and super fun to eat and I have to give a shout out to

Sarah from athriftymom for this adorable little Rudolph Tootsie Pop I'm going to

show you how to make it right now for this project you'll need a Tootsie Pop a

brown pipe cleaner googly eyes a hot glue gun setup and a red pom-pom bead or

jewel the first thing we're gonna do is take our pipe cleaner lay it underneath

the stick of the Tootsie Pop halfway and fold it in half and give it a good twist

make it nice and tight now on either side we're gonna bend up the pipe

cleaner and bend it over so that you make like a little zigzag shape there

then you want to fold the pipe cleaner back on itself twist it around the bend

just once then come down and make like the letter F and just fold that extra

edge back so that it's a little shorty

to make the antler so once again fold it up crook it over fold it back give it a

little wraparound fold it down make the letter F now you just add the eyes and

the nose and you're all done so I'm gonna add a little bloop of glue right

there for the nose and two little bloops of glue for the eyes

and there's our friend Rudolph so there you have it a little Rudolph that would

be perfect in anybody's stocking for more great ideas check us out at

sophie-world.com and thank you Sarah from athriftymom for sharing your idea of

this little Tootsie Pop Rudolph

Top 5 Money Moves to Make After College - Duration: 5:11.

Ah, the fresh spring air and your whole life ahead of you.

Graduating from college is both an exciting and a stressful time as young adult.

To help you handle that stress, here are five money moves to make after graduating from

college.

Figure out your student loans.

If you're one of over 70% of people graduating with student loan debt, now is the time to

get on top of repayments.

Most student loans have a 6-month grace period which means you won't have to start repaying

your loans until 6 months after graduation.

This doesn't mean you should wait for 5 months and 29 days before you start researching your

repayment options.

Instead, use this time to research your repayment options, figure out how to make payments,

set up automatic payments, and develop a financial plan to pay down those loans.

By default, student loans are typically set to be repaid with fixed payments over a set

number of years.

However, if the standard repayment plan is not suitable for you, there are a number of

other options that can make your payments more manageable.

As a reminder, your student loan payments will become due, even if you don't receive

a bill.

If you don't know where to make your payments, you can retrieve your loan information from

your school's financial aid office.

Once you've figured that out, setting up automatic payments is key to helping you avoid a missed

payment.

Missed payments often lead to extra fees and can eventually lead to negative marks on your

credit report if left unpaid.

Create a monthly budget.

Regardless of how much you make, understanding where your money is going is crucial to any

good financial plan.

There are many different ways to create a budget and they don't have to be difficult

to make.

Here are a few key steps to making a simple budget.

First, figure out where you'll write down your budget.

How you do this is up to you.

I prefer using apps like Mint and You Need A Budget to keep my budget digital, but you

can always bust out a pencil and paper to manage your budget.

Then, you want to write down what your take-home income is.

If you receive a regular paycheck, this should be easy because your paycheck should already

have deductions for things like taxes and insurance taken out of it.

Once you've figured out your income, you'll want to determine your expenses.

You can start by looking at your fixed expenses that don't change much from month to month.

Examples include payments for your home, car, cable, internet, and any other services you

make regular payments on.

From there, you'll want to give your best estimate of your variable expenses.

These include expenses that fluctuate from month to month such as groceries, gasoline

and entertainment.

Once you've got that figured out, simply subtract your expenses from your income to get your

total monthly income.

If it's positive, you can put that money into paying down debt or investing in other things.

If its negative, you'll have to look back and see what changes can be made to increase

income or cut costs.

Lastly, keep track of your monthly expenses and review how accurate your budget was at

the end of the month.

Create an emergency fund.

Creating an emergency fund is one of the single most important financial actions you can take.

An emergency fund is simply a bank account with money set aside to be used only for unplanned

emergencies.

This account is dedicated for things like an unexpected medical emergency, car troubles,

home repairs, or a sudden loss of a job.

By not having an emergency fund, a sudden unexpected expense might come up that forces

you to borrow money.

Emergency funds also give you peace of mind in knowing that you're prepared for whatever

life throws at you.

There is no one size fits all answer about how much you should save in an emergency fund,

but most people generally advise saving 3 to 6 months of living expenses into the fund.

Learn to Cook.

Learning to cook isn't just good for your health, it's also good for your wallet.

People who cook at home regularly save money and feel better about themselves.

If you're just learning to cook for the first time, stick with simple recipes with

5 or fewer ingredients.

You can find these on recipe sites like allrecipes.com or by searching on YouTube.

After practicing for a bit, you'll be making great meals for a fraction of the cost of

eating out.

Start investing for retirement.

Retirement might seem like ages from now, but there's no better time than the present

to start saving for retirement.

This is because of what's called the time value of money.

Basically, investing a dollar today is worth more than investing a dollar in the future

because that $1 investment today can start earning you dividend and interest income.

For example, if you invested $100 in a stock that pays you a 10% dividend each year, after

one year you would have $110.

But what about the next year?

After the second year, you would get 10% of $110 which is $11 in dividends for a total

investment of $121.

So how does this relate to investing for retirement?

Well, if you were to invest $10,000 at age 25 in an investment that gives you a 7% annual

return, you would have nearly $150,000 by the time you are 65.

What if you invested that same $10,000 5 years later at age 30?

With the same 7% annual return, you would only have about $107,000.

That's $43,000 less on the same $10,000 investment!

For this reason, you should start investing as soon as you can.

Thanks for watching.

Upcycle a Gossip Bench to Make it Useful Again - Duration: 7:45.

So hopefully you guys can hear me good enough.

I had to take my microphone off, because the little windscreen thing fell

off and I can't find it. It'll probably fall out of my bra

sometime tonight. Like could go take a shower and there's

a little windscreen thing. Uh,

that's my life. I wanted to talk to you guys about this

bench. You remember the bench that uh,

my nephew did the fractal burning on top of.

If you haven't seen that yet, I'm going to put a link to it in the

cards. I think they're up over here.

I don't know. Everything's backwards for me.

So just look for the cards. He did the fractal burning on the top of

it. It's a mid century gossip bench and I,

I wanted to talk to you guys about making things useful again.

First of all, let me get the camera turned around.

Let me show you what it looks like now. So I have a video on actually doing the

upholstery. If you want to learn to do this is

simple upholstery. If you want to learn to do that,

I will also put a link in the cards above,

but this is what we've done with the gossip bench so I don't have the top on

yet just because I want you to see what we did.

So we took the top off simply because it made it easier to put the charging

station. So right here you can see we've got four

charging stations and then there's a cord.

So underneath here you can kind of see a cord comes out and you just plug this in

and you can charge your devices. But if you take a peek,

you can't even see the box. It's a very low profile box that Dad

found.

Um, he didn't want to be on the video.

Okay Boys, if you're listening right now,

you totally want to be my dad. When you grow up.

He is the best. He is very supportive of me since the

day I decided to start this business in any business that I've ever wanted to do

anything I've ever wanted done, even when I am,

anything I ever wanted to do. Even when I wanted to be a Rockstar,

he was okay with it, but he said,

you know, learn to type so you have something to

fall back on. But uh,

he wired in the plugs so you can charge your devices.

And what I was thinking was how great will this be,

and let me get turned around, how great will this be in like in an

entryway so I can sit on it, you know,

put my shoes on, put some,

you know, a couple of baskets underneath.

Put your winter boots or gloves or if you're in Florida,

I don't know what you put in their flip flops.

I don't know. We have gloves and hats and stuff.

We've gotta store away underneath this. So this is really,

you know, something for Minnesota as far as

baskets, but I'm sure you got something you could

do with the basket. But then I thought in the entryway when

you have the top on, you can put a bowl for your keys and

then plug your phone in when you come in.

So it's a great place because you can hide the devices.

And Dad and I had a big conversation about this.

He wanted to put the plugin on the back side of this piece.

So let me show you. He initially wanted to put the plug in

here and that would be functional. But the thing that bothered me about it

was then the chords would drape up over the top,

which would be very cluttered.

And this way with this in here, when the top is on,

you can store your devices under here, charge everything and the clutter out of

the way. Instead you can have a nice entryway,

bowl or flowers, put your keys in the bowl,

something pretty. And this,

you know, put some baskets under there to store

winter hats and things like that and get it out of the way.

And you have a place to sit down, put your shoes on before you leave the

house. I mean,

I just think it becomes much more functional and yeah,

these pieces, you see them all the time and nobody has

a landline. I mean,

very rarely, if you have a landline,

it's, it's on a wall or it's a cordless,

so you don't really need a place to sit and talk on the phone,

but you can make this functional again by adding the charger.

Which simple process if you know anything about electrical,

which I do not, but dad assures me it's a simple process

to add the four prong charger. So I mean my husband and I can plug in

our phones, we can plug in the iPad and we can plug

in whatever we need that needs to be plugged in and charged in a night.

So we can just set it right there. And this can even be really cool in a

bedroom, you know,

you always need a place to sit down and rest and it's just cute.

And now it's functional because it's original purpose,

it no longer serves its original purpose.

But these pieces still do have a purpose.

So if you see these, you know,

consider making yourself an entery your way,

charging station and think about all the other pieces that you could do this to

and make them functional again. So always think of a different way to

rescue these pieces and use it in your daily life.

So I mean, I mean,

I love this solid wood. It's gorgeous.

It was gorgeous before I painted it. It was,

you know, it needed some upholstery.

That's a simple fix and then we just added a plug in.

It's, it's an easy,

inexpensive way to take this into the next century so that it becomes useful.

So that's my little rant on using pieces that already exists.

You know, it's a great little entry table now.

Happy junking everyone, thanks for watching.

If you liked this video, please hit the thumbs up.

I would appreciate it. I would love to hear from you guys if

you have something that you made useful again,

please comment on it below. So show me pictures.

You guys, I would love to steal ideas from you

because like I am huge on stealing ideas from people.

So please show me something that you've made functional.

My Dad has done this with quite a few pieces.

You know what? Before this ends,

this is the sale I've got going on here. Let me see if I can get a quick shot of

another piece. So check this out.

So there's this phone back here. See that?

That is also a lamp and a charging station.

So Dad just, or mom just came out.

Hi Mom! Youtube hasn't met mom yet.

Say, "Hi

Youtube." So that's a phone and a charging station

and a lamp. So it's a charging station for your

phone and a lamp. So Dad's the master at making things

functional. So comment down below about things that

you've made functional again, and happy junking everyone.

Now mom's just getting silly. Say happy junking everyone.
