I mean he's gorgeous.
yes obviously he is. I'm not gonna bash Kit Harington on my
channel, but I do want to talk to you
about one specific thing that makes him a smart actor.
There was an article in Entertainment Weekly where they talked
to him and Emilia Clarke about their long awaited incestuous relationship and in
it, Kit Harington talked about how he was looking for places where there might be
sexual tension between him and Daenerys
well before that ever happened in the script
and I bring that up because it may seem obvious to you as something
that an actor would have to do, but a lot of beginning actors will skate over this
kind of stuff and it's so important to recognize that what happens at the end
of a script, is there from the very beginning.
and what I mean by that is
for example, if you have to cry at a certain point in the scene, whatever is making
you cry is likely there from the beginning.
You don't just suddenly get bothered by it. It's likely bubbling under the
surface for a while until you finally can't contain it anymore. So you have to
know all of that and really emotionally plug in from the beginning and of course
cover it. You try to be okay for most of the scene until the point where in
dialogue someone asks why you're crying.
cool? Also applies to physical realities,
so if you say god "I'm sweating balls," at some point in the scene, from the very
beginning of the scene you need to have the physical reality of heat. So even if
you're in an air-conditioned room you need to notice where the sweat might be
dripping down your back or on your thighs, sometimes it's in the back of
your neck. If you have clothes sticking to you.
all that work needs to be done at the beginning of the scene
what this boils down to is that you have to do your homework
you have to read the entire
script, not just the little section that you're working on, but the entire thing
before you ever step into a table read or a first rehearsal, whatever. You need
all of that done and I can't tell you how many times I've seen people go into
a rehearsal without having read the entire script and what it does is it
makes it impossible to get real work done, because the realities that need to
be there aren't there when a actor doesn't know everything that his
character needs and wants and cares about
for example if Kit Harington
had not read the part where he sleeps with Daenerys or he hadn't read the part
where I don't remember who mentions that they're attracted to each other but at
some point that happens. If he had not yet read that stuff or had an awareness
that that stuff was happening you could have easily approached all of their
scenes earlier in the season as straight up business. That he just needs to get
dragonglass and get support for the Great War and he wouldn't have any of
the reality of their budding relationship and then by the time it
actually comes, it would feel totally inauthentic and not justified. cool? so
read the script. yeah just just read the whole thing. It's fun.
I highly doubt that Kit Harington had any difficulty being attracted to Emilia
Clarke, but all the same he's not in a relationship with her in real life, so he
had to do some acting here. What do you do to create that kind of attraction?
Now this just goes back to personalization
and you can use your imagination or you
can use real-life examples to plug in and make yourself emotionally connected
to another person, Whatever you use, my main thing that I want to say is get
specific. We don't love people in general. We love specific parts of them.
So if I'm using Danny as a source of mine, I'm not gonna think about Danny in general, I'm
gonna think about Danny's jawline or his dimples or I'm gonna think about the way
he talks about acting. I'm gonna think about the specific things about him that
I find attractive and that's what I'll plug into the other person. And then you
just transfer it over and you rehearse together and you look for those little
things in them. And besides that you look for what's in front of you. You may not
find your scene partner attractive in general, but look and see maybe their
lips are attractive to you. Maybe some small part of them, a mole or something
that's just very specific and small you find endearing or attractive or whatever.
Look for that stuff and the other person and use that as well. Thank you so
much for watching. If you're new here, I'm Shea Depmore. I'm an actor and a

comments below if you have an actor you would like me to cover in a video like
this. I have a growing list. I have not forgotten you guys from the last video,
but I want to keep getting suggestions and I will be making more of these soon.
More than anything that I said in this video,
the real key to Kit Harington's success as an actor is simple:
squats
that ass is the
mark of a truly brilliant performer
