What if you could only see one color?

But you could only see things that were, for example, green.

And everything else would be invisible.

Well, it turns out that in a way it's true!

When you look around you, your eyes see what scientist call "visible light".

And that light, the one we are used to think about,

is just a very, very small portion of all the different kinds of light that exist in the Universe

And most of them are invisible to our eyes!

But there are animals that are not that blind to those kinds of light.

That's why snakes can see even during moonless nights.

And bees can see the flowers with the biggest amounts of pollen.

They can see lights we, humans, can't!

Snakes can see infrared light, the same that allows you to see if you put night-vision goggles on;

and bees can see ultraviolet, the light that gets your skin burnt unless you protect yourself with sunscreen.

All these lights are part of the electromagnetic spectrum,

where there are also radio waves, microwaves, x-rays and gamma rays,

all the other lights we can't see, but are essential to our daily life.

Microwaves are used to heat up your food

and x-rays, that can go through skin, are used by doctors to see your bones.

The thing is: the story of the Universe… of galaxies, stars and planets,

is told through all of these different kinds of lights!

And because our eyes are no good to see beyond the visible light,

astronomers created new eyes that allowed them to see far more:

telescopes that can see the invisible lights!

ALMA is one of those telescopes. It can see radio waves.

Some places in the Universe look dark to our eyes, but shine bright in radio waves.

The places where stars are born, for example, are full of dust which blocks visible light

and, therefore, they are very dark,

but radio telescopes like ALMA can see straight through that dust.

They can see stars being born!

They allow the study of things impossible to study otherwise:

like galaxies that are very, very far away, or even the birth of other star systems like our own.

out why you would do that right and you're laying there you have the worst

night's sleep of your life but you still have the hope that your friends were

drunk right so you wake up the next day and

you go you know down and you say where you were going to meet

everybody's there you're like oh all right all right cool cool cool cool cool

cool right so you get in the van and you don't know that your friends have the

same night that you had cuz they're pretended like they didn't it like yeah

man my uncle is a Navy SEAL and you know this is gonna be great I've been looking

forward to this you like oh my god oh my god and your stomach is terrible you

can't eat and everything but you don't want to be the only punk who doesn't

jump out of this airplane so you get there and then you have this safety

brief and you're standing there and the guys to tell you what the chute doesn't

open what's gonna happen is you're doing you a lot of help with what could happen

that the chute the chute wouldn't open right so you do a thing and what you do

is your first jump you're attached to a guy who is going you know he's gonna

walk you out so you go and you get there and there's an airplane and nobody

stopping everybody's still going so you get onto the airplane and you're

sitting there and and you know it's extra because you're sitting on some

dudes lap some stranger you sit on his lap and it's not you know you got trying

to make small talk yeah man so you deal you'd be you be jumping with people all

the time right you know so and then you just want

to make sure you got you have kids right you have people you need to see right

just want to make sure he's serious right so you get in there

so everything's normal so you fly and you go up you go up you go up and you go

up to 14,000 feet and you notice there's a light it's red and it's yellow and

green right so right now the lights red so then you start thinking at some point

the lights going to go green it but you don't know what's going to happen right

and you wait and it goes yellow and the light goes green and somebody opens the

door and in that moment you realize you've never been in a freaking airplane

with the door open right terror cause I'm spitting I'm sorry terror terror

terror terror right so you go and then you know if you're if you were smart you

sat in the back so you don't go first right and then people start going out of

the airplane and you go and the guy walks you up to the end of the thing and

you're standing and your toes are on the edge and you're looking out down to

death and they say on three and they say one two and he pushes you on two because

people grab on three right and you go and you fall out of the airplane and in

one second you realize that it's the most blissful experience of your life

you're flying right it doesn't feel like falling right it's like that you

actually are kind of held a little bit by the wind and then you start and you

you start falling you falling and you there's zero fear you realize that the

point of maximum danger is the point of minimum fear it's bliss it's bliss and

you're flying

right and you're doing it and then 20 seconds 25 seconds 40 seconds and you

have enough time to just kind of be like ah that's that building that's not like

oh you can see the ocean right you start doing all that and the the lesson for me was why were

you scared in your bed the night before why did you what do you need that fear

for just don't go why are you scared in your bed 16 hours before you jump why

are you scared in a car why could you not enjoy breakfast what would what did

you need that that fear is fear of what you're nowhere near the airplane

everything up to the stepping out there's actually no reason to be scared

it only just ruins your day you don't have to jump and then in that moment all

of a sudden where you should be terrified is the most blissful

experience of your life and God placed the best things in life on the other

side of terror on the other side of your maximum fear are all of the best things

in life about a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer I had a scan at 7:30 in the

morning and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas I didn't even know what a

pancreas was the doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer

that is incurable and that I should expect to live no longer than 3 to 6

months my doctor advised me to go home and get

my affairs in order which is doctors code for prepare to die it means to try

and tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to

tell them in just a few months it means to make sure everything is buttoned up

so that will be as easy as possible for your family it means to say your

goodbyes I live with that diagnosis all day later

that evening I had a biopsy where they stuck an endoscope down my throat

through my stomach and into my intestines put a needle into my pancreas

and got a few cells from the tumor I was sedated but my wife who was there told

me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctor started crying

because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is

curable with surgery I had the surgery and thankfully

I'm fine now

this was the closest I've been to facing death and I hope it's the closest I get

for a few more decades having lived through it I can now say this to you

with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely

intellectual concept no one wants to die even people who want to go to heaven

don't want to die to get there and yet death is the destination we all

share no one has ever escaped it and that is as it should be because death is

very likely the single best invention of life its life's change agent it clears

out the old to make way for the new right now the new is you but some day

not too long from now you will gradually become the old and be cleared away sorry

to be so dramatic but it's quite true your time is limited so don't waste it

living someone else's life don't be trapped by dogma which is

living with the results of other people's thinking don't let the noise of

others opinions drown out your own inner voice and most important have the

courage to follow your heart and intuition they somehow already know what

you truly want to become everything else is secondary

I just don't want to be okay with where where I'm at like I never want to settle

I never want to be like just happy with where I'm at like I always want to be

going for better

always get better at stuff I knew I was wired to be excited about business how

or why I don't know but you know and there's certain guys they have the

genetics to jump out of the gym right for certain guys you know that you know

when they golf they have the muscle memory and and the discipline you know

Dirk may not be the most talented guy in the NBA but his

discipline and his focus to do what's necessary to be successful he's willing

to do and combine it with being seven feet tall and being skilled you know it

makes him an amazing basketball player so it's understanding what your skill

set is finding the right place to use those skills and then going for it you

know will that make you 250 grand it depends if you pick the right industry

but whatever industry you pick if you outwork everybody if you try to be a

little smarter than everybody if you try to be a better salesperson than

everybody if you try to be better prepared than everybody you've got your

best chance because if you don't do it and somebody else does you know I have

the same work like someone's trying to take it all away from you you know work

you actually work like someone's spending 24 hours working 24 hours to

take it all away from you and that's kind of the way I look at it

Mini-Bike: *vrrrr screech* (Mini-Bike appears before Ignis!)

Ignis: "You...!"

"Mini-bike?!" ► "Wow..."

Mini-Bike: "*vrrr! vrrrrr!*" (It seems to be miffed that it wasn't called on for this.)

Mini-Bike: "*vrrrrr!*" ('Leave the searching to me!' He seems to say.)

Ignis: "You're going to help look, too?"

Mini-Bike: "*vrrrrrr!*" ('Of course!' ... He seems to say.)

Ignis: "Nice! We're in a hurry, so let's get going!"

(Ignis and the others begin their search for Joy.)

(After an hour of searching, they found Joy, hiding in the shade of a tree.)

Koya: "*gobble gobble*"

Kaya: "Ignis! Over here!"

Ignis: "Hey, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

Joy: "Uwah, uh, um, who are you...?"

Ignis: "I'm Ignis. Juiz and the others told me to come find you."

Ignis: "There are a bunch of monsters around, so it's pretty dangerous."

Joy: "Thank you so much. I don't know anyone around here, and I saw all the monsters, so I panicked and hid."

Mini-Bike: "*vrrrrrr*" ('Everything turned out okay,' he seems to say.)

Ignis: "Since we've found you, I guess we'd better meet up with Juiz and the others."

Ignis: "Sorry to keep you waiting. Here she is."

Seria: "Thank goodness! Are alright?"

Joy: "I'm okay. I'm sorry for running..."

Juiz: "I was so surprised. I asked a question and you ran off!"

Juiz: "So I'm sorry, too."

Joy: "It's alright... Um... Did you find the missing luggage?"

Seria: "We did, but some things got dirty - and other things need alterations and such.

Seria: "I don't think it can be ready in time for the show."

Juiz: "But we found them! It's alright, we're just a liiiittle pressed for time!"

Joy: "Um... I... I can help, if you'd like!"

Juiz: "Eeh?! It would be a huge help if you could be in the show, but..."

Seria: "Are you sure?"

Joy: "I mean, you all worked so hard to search, and you came and got me, so..."

Joy: "I don't know if it makes up for your trouble, but I'd like to at least try to help."
