The Drocon Blue Bugs 3 brushless motor drone is an affordable alternative to the much more

expensive DJI quadcopters.

The Blue Bugs 3 can support GoPro and other action cameras.

The brushless motors provide longer running times and more accurate flight control.

Without a camera, the drone can sit on these shorter legs but with a camera payload, there

are longer legs that attach here.

This is the complete setup of the Blue Bugs 3 and though it comes with a camera mount,

it does not come packaged with a camera.

However, I did get the DBPower SJ4000 sport camera for free during a promotion with this

drone.

The remote is large and a bit bulky but features a solid antenna mast.

It comes with a MJX R/C battery secured in a plastic case and has 1800mAh capacity.

Charging and power output are split into two cables.

The battery fits very snugly and won't slip out during flight.

The drone doesn't have a power switch so you'll need to plug it in to turn it on.

It's now just about ready to fly.

To connect the drone to the controller, hold down the red button and switch the power on.

Then turn the drone on.

A solid green light means it's connected.

Then calibrate the drone by pushing both control sticks to the bottom right.

To unlock the drone, quickly press the red button and the rotors will start.

The rotors will spin at low RPMs at this point and it is ready to fly now.

To turn off and lock the motors, press and hold the red button for about three seconds

and the rotors will stop.

Now that we have control, it's time to fly!

I'm not a very good drone pilot but it's not that hard to fly.

I'm just not used to it and I tend to over-correct during flight.

But over time, I think I can get used to this.

Oh and this drone can do rolls in flight but I will try that later.

The Drocon Blue Bugs 3 brushless motor drone offers 15 to 18 minutes of flight depending

if the camera and longer legs are attached.

It's not necessarily a beginner drone but the price is affordable for someone starting

out who wants a drone to get aerial shots with an HD camera like a GoPro or the SJ4000

with a range of up to 500 meters or 1600 feet.

The Blue Bugs 3 can also be upgradable to FPV or with the MJX FPV kit that includes

a camera, screen and VR goggles.
