today I'm gonna show you how to make a modern icon design in adobe illustrator

here on YouTube before we kick off this modern icon design in Illustrator if you

want to keep updated to sister graphics hidden content I receive graphic design

will be w destroy graphics on there so how to make a modern icon design you do

not have to make a paper plane symbol of course you can use my methods to create

many different icons first we need to take the polygon tool I will click the

artboard and type in six Heights resize it for holding down the alt/option key

and shift at the same time and then clicking like so we now need to make the

corners of the icon rounded heading up to effects and then round corners you

can check preview to see how the final outcome is going to be and adjust the

measurements this will form the basis of our modern icon design in today's

illustrator tutorial to give a better effect on our icon design today we don't

have a grade in here I want to use shades of blue for my icon design and I

want to make the transition between the two tones very slight having the lighter

in the top left of the icon

I take the poly tool again but this time type in three sides to generate a

triangle using the REC selection tool you can then move the points around from

the basis of our paper plane

when happy a LaPenta make a shape like mine here this will cut into the

triangle using the pathfinder window like so

lastly again using the pen tool we need to add a triangle to the back of the

paper plane join everything together in the Pathfinder window

to quickly change the color of the paper plane you can use to prepare tool and

select the white on the canvas outward

lastly we're going to add a shadow behind the plane it's really going to

set off the effect on a modern icon design today so hold down the alt option

key and then click and drag to duplicate the hexagon select of the hexagons

dragging your cursor over them and then align them vertically and horizontally

if you can't find the align window you can open it here

once you align the two shapes take the pen tool and draw in a shape like I'm

doing here this is going to climb to the top hexagon make sure the pencil path

comes all the way off the shape and then back on to air

then select the new shape and the top hexagon and use this option here in the

Pathfinder window I'm going to bring the paper plane to the front of our modern

icon design and then I'm going to show you how to add a gradient shadow

you want one side to be dark blue and the opposite side to have 0% opacity to

blends in nicely play around the gradient style under direction of your

gradient to perfect your icon design

The weather has cleared up there and he just wanted them to feel encouraged and able to

Adani Ambani face off How Modi's Make in India set the stage for defence rivalry in India - Duration: 4:13.

Opportunities brim in India's defence sector, leading to large scale tie ups between Indian

and foreign companies.

If it was L&T and Tata led the private sector bandwagon in the earlier days, the stage is

set for an Anil Ambani- Gautam Adani battle in the defence business now.

Both are new entrants in the sector and have entered into a slew joint ventures in the

recent times.

Bharat Forge, Reliance Industries, the Tata group, Ashok Leyland, Larsen & Toubro, the

Godrej Group and the Mahindra Group are fairly well entrenched in the business.

The JVs are formed at a time when India, the world's top defence importer, is conducting

a USD100-billion upgrade of its Soviet-era military hardware.

All the MiG 21s and MiG 27s in the Indian Air Force (IAF) arsenal is due to retire by

2025.

IAF has 33 squadrons of fighter aircrafts and the numbers are dominated by single engine

fighters.

Modi government has raised the limit on foreign investment in the defence sector and encouraged

tie-ups between foreign and local companies under the 'Make in India' campaign where the

Indian partner will remain the majority stakeholder.

India currently imports at least 90 per cent of its defence equipment including parts for

assembly.

India in 2016 agreed to buy 36 Rafale combat planes for around USD8.9 billion.

Some of the major JVs formed for win a slice of the defence pie are:

Adani - Saab

Sweden's Saab tied up with Adani Group to bid for defence deals in India, with a focus

on manufacturing Gripen fighter jets in the country.

"Our plans in India are to create a new defence eco system that would involve many partners,

vendors and suppliers.

Building new fighters is very similar to doing high technology projects in energy sector,"

said Hakan Buskhe, president and CEO of Saab.

The partnership will compete with U.S. defence giant Lockheed Martin in a two horse-race

to win a potential order from India's military for single-engine jets that will be produced

locally.

Together with the Adani Group, Saab will bid to make about 100 single engine fighters for

Indian Air Force (IAF), a contract worth USD 15 billion.

So far, Adani has no presence in the defence sector and no experience in the manufacturing

space either.

Gripen E fighter is Sweden's answer to the F-35 of Lockheed Martin.

The E fighter, the sixth variant in the Gripen family, is slightly bigger than previous versions,

has a stronger engine and updated radar systems.

It is designed to carry more weapons further, and to track multiple threats using the latest

type of radar.

Since 2015 a clutch of Adani executives were negotiating with the representatives of overseas

defence giants for tie ups, pitching the group's mainstay asset - the country's largest private

port and SEZ at Mundra in Gujarat - with its sea and land linkages as a possible manufacturing

location.

The discussions in some cases were led by Karan Adani, the elder son of billionaire

group chairman Gautam Adani.

In 2015 February, the group applied to the department of industrial policy & promotion

(DIPP) for a licence to manufacture helicopters under a new entity - Adani Defence Systems

& Technologies.

Marking its formal entry into defence, the company signed a statement of intent with

Elbit-ISTAR of Israel to work together in the field of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS),

commonly known as drones.

Under the agreement, the companies plan to set up a final assembly and integration line,

including MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facilities by incorporating true transfer

of technology for supporting the product range during its lifecycle.

Sunglasses are such a fun accessory – and such a pain to store.

You want to be able to choose the right ones as you leave the house, but rifling through

closed cases is a bother.

How about a chic DIY holder that displays your sunglasses and gives you easy access

at the same time?

Start with a large picture frame.

Open the back and remove the glass, saving it for another use.

Take the cardboard back and cover it with a piece of fabric to match your décor, hot

gluing it in the back to secure it.

On the back of the frame.

Line up your sunglasses and mark where the rows will be and draw a line across the board.

Glue one end of some twine to the line, wrap it across the front of the fabric-covered

board, and glue the other end to the other end of the line as shown.

Do the same for the second line.

Now, simply put the board back into the frame, securing it, and hang it up on the wall.

Just add your sunnies and the problem is solved in

a stylish way.

How to make Oobleck!

Oobleck is a non-Newtonian liquid,

which means it does not follow Newton's Laws of Viscosity.

Unlike Newtonian liquids,

Oobleck changes from solid to liquid due to pressure applied.

Newtonian liquids change from solid to liquid due to change in temperature.

If you try to forcefully put your hand through water, you'll have no problem.

Put it forcefully through Oobleck, however, and you'll feel a resistance.

To make Oobleck, you will need...

corn starch and water.

You can also use food coloring, but that is optional.

Put 2 heaping spoonfuls of corn starch into the bowl.

Add the same amount of water.

If you feel like its too water-y, add more corn starch.

If its too thick, add more water.

As you can see, we added way too much water,

so we're adding a little more corn starch.

Now your Oobleck is done!

If you forcefully try to put your spoon through the Oobleck, you'll feel a lot of resistance, and the spoon won't go through.

Put it through slowly, however, and the spoon goes through easily.

This is what makes Oobleck SO much fun!

We decided to add purple gel food coloring to make the Oobleck look much more fun!

As you can see, when we're applying pressure with our spoon, the Oobleck solidifies.

But when we let go of the spoon, the Oobleck turns back to a liquid.

Since Oobleck is so much fun to play with and so easy to make, we've made it numerous times in different colors!

So you can finally make phone calls with your Google home

And you want to know how I'll show you how to do that coming up

It's pretty interesting, so let's get right into it so earlier this month

Google announced that it was going to roll out its

Calling feature for their Google home, and we finally got that update now if you don't have it yet. Don't worry

It's coming I had to wait a little longer than what I was hoping to do

But I finally have it now to start it off. You have to have your contacts

Synced into Google contacts if you have an iPhone you can't just use your contacts there you have to

Import them into your Google contacts once that's all set up. It's as simple as this hey Google

Call Trent

Calling

And as you can see from our other camera angle the circle turns blue

It'll that indicates it showing that we're in a phone call so hopefully Trent will answer here

Hey, buddy. Hey hey Trent good. How are you doing? Oh?

Well, I'm calling you on the Google home, so what do you think?

So what I did if you have a Google Voice number or an account with a number you can

Call from that

using the Google Voice number

So that's why that registered to your phone

but if you don't have a Google Voice account you can either make one or you can just call with a

unlisted number so

You don't have to have a cellphone number. You don't have to have a Google Voice number

You can just make phone calls from the Google home

they're free in Canada and free in the US phone calls, but they come up as either restricted or

unknown

Numbers so which is why?

911 numbers don't work

Right now you can't call 9-1-1 well awesome. I'm glad this worked. You could have an incoming call from

Mom, yeah, exactly you would be like don't answer it

Which the cool thing about that you just mentioned something that

Google home now is able to have multiple users set up on it

So if I say call my mom it recognizes my voice and calls my mother

In my contacts if my wife says call my mom it calls her mom in her contacts so that's pretty

Pretty awesome right I'd say but sometimes. It does it does say

I can't recognize who you are so I can't call anybody

But you can easily say a call Trent or call whomever in your contacts, or if you have

Not an actual name associated, or you just want to call a number you can say call

Whatever number you wanted to call so it's pretty awesome. The other cool thing is you can actually still use the Google home?

All of the features with it while you're on the call, but it will mute

your call

Basically so I can say hey Google

Hey, go go, what's the score of the Ohio State game?

Currently, Ohio State is trailing, Indiana seven to three in the first quarter. Oh, that's not good so

so

Trent can hear my hey Google

Well, thank you

You're welcome while you're doing that but it doesn't hear the rest of what I say

So it's pretty awesome that you can keep doing it. What's not cool is Ohio State's trailing right now

It mutes you so no, I don't hear anything you say and you don't hear anything

Everything and being able to make a phone call and have a conversation while you're doing all that without having to

Know where your cell phone is is pretty handy, so my only problem with it

Is that if you don't have a Google Voice account?

With a number it will call with a restricted or an unknown will come up on your cell phone

And if you're calling most people won't really

pick up those

phone calls so

You may not be able to talk to anybody which is something

I had an issue with trying to get a hold of some people but

Google Voice is free to do easy to set up, so I would say just go ahead and do that in the first place

It's just easier and that way there is a number that comes up

And they can save it in their contacts as you for that number so again. Thank you guys
