I'll demonstrate a Pick-Up overload in RVGL,
a rewrite of Re-Volt racing game.
Just a warning that there are some possible seizures
in this footage, including strobe effects at least.
Before we begin, you need to activate a cheat code.
Enter the name as "SADIST"
to enable cycling Pick-Ups with "Right Shift" key
and then pick your own name.
We'll start with some basic overload with fake Pick-Ups first,
and with a few other overload methods.
I've made a macro key that keeps firing and cycling Pick-Ups constantly.
I'll show the bindings later.
For now, we'll check this out.
[Explosion noise]
Let's wait until we get down.
Okay, we'll cycle through a few pickups
along with a seizure warning.
The star...
That's the warning.
Then the...
energy blast I think...
Then the fireworks...
Then the triple fireworks.
Then the bomb...
Then the water balloons...
Then the shockwave...
Then oil uh...oops.
The oil slick...
Then the iron balls...
I guess...
Then, the speed up...
Besides of the Pick-Up being quite loud,
It's also quite unstable with
with the "Clockwork Wun" (current car).
So yeah. Now for the cycling and firing pickups.
So basically,
firing everything at once.
Actually not at once, but
it just cycles through all possible pickups.
Whoops.
And the last two are rapid firing and rapid cycling.
So basically rapid firing is just...
immediately triggering after I...
switch the next pickup.
And... the rapid cycling is basically
as you can see, switching the weapons quite quickly.
So if we combine both of those...
So yeah.
Those are all pretty much overloading methods...
that I've managed to make.
So you can combine them in some way...
to make even more different effects, if possible.
But the results may vary.
So we'll try a single race now.
Or actually, a few more.
Well, enjoy.
That's pretty much the first race.
I made some combinations with fire and lightning and with triple fireworks as you have seen.

that's pretty much about the, uh...

Rapid firing.
So yeah, that was with rocket fire and cycling...
but it went quite unstable...
because I didn't actually...
toggled it by myself, it just went through all possible...
pickups by itself.
Well then.

from me while I was racing,
it was probably irrelevant.
So, time for yet another race.
With some yet another method.
Nice.
We are up to yet another race, hopefully.

Before we begin,
the other three cars are controlled by macro key,
which just goes forward,
and shoots and flips the car,
so just the basic stuff.
And this track is pretty much [solid?] enough for
for these cars to actually,
well,
hopefully to finish the lap in some way.

Okay, I think I've
pretty much
demonstrated all possible ways to
have fun with these overloads.
So I will try to show the bindings now.
I'm using Logitech Gaming Software to bind macro keys,
but it should work well for any other gaming keyboard that has
at least macro keys and repeating...
[silently] with...
... within input.
We'll just go with the bindings now.
So, the fire macro key fires three times...
and then switches back to current pickup.
Pickups with multiple usages require firing three times
to avoid switching to the next pickup.
So the firing is Shift key,
and the switching is Right Shift key.
Uh, fire and cycle key also fires three times,
but it also cycles twice to make sure that...
the next pickup is received instead of the current one.
So yeah, Shift keys and Right shift twice.
Take note that this is that this is the...
pressing and this is the releasing of the key,
along with the delay.
I'll explain the delay at the end.
Control macro keys are basically bindings for controlling other three human players.
They don't work so well, so we'll skip those.
And finally,
rapid fire key skips three times in a row by itself,
while the rapid cycles keeps cycling pickups all the time.
Well, with the single input.
So, just I'll show it again.
Yeah, if you're wondering about the delay itself...
basically, the 0.025 seconds of delay
is pretty much the lowest possible delay for the Re-Volt...
or actually, RVGL game to receive as far as I've tried.
Anything lower than that and it might be quite...
How to say...
unstable or it won't receive the actual input.
Therefore, enjoy using this...in some way.
