Hyundai Motor suspends production in China over supply disruption - Duration: 0:41.

South Korea's biggest automaker, Hyundai Motor, has halted production at all four of its factories

in China... amid continuing fallout over the deployment of the THAAD missile defense system

on the Korean Peninsula.

The automaker says it has suspended its Chinese operation... after a local supplier, refused

to provide necessary components... due to a failure in payment.

This could deal a further blow to Hyundai,... which saw its sales in China plunge 65 percent

in June... amid the ongoing THAAD controversy.

Hyundai's factories in China have a combined capacity to produce over one-point-three million

vehicles a year.

Hyundai Motor halts production in China as THAAD row damages sales - Duration: 1:40.

The bad blood between South Korea and China over the deployment of a U.S. missile defense

system to the Korean Peninsula is now spilling over to Korea's biggest automaker.

Hyundai Motor's assembly lines in China have come to a grinding halt... after a payment

dispute with a local supplier.

Lee Jeong-yeon reports.

Hyundai Motor, Korea's largest automaker, halted its car production in China as of last

week.

The decision comes as a local supplier stopped deliveries of plastic fuel tanks after Hyundai's

China joint venture failed to make payment.

The amount overdue is roughly 17-million US dollars, according to local media outlets...

but the exact figure is yet to be confirmed by Hyundai Motor.

The automaker has seen a massive drop in sales in China so far this year.

In the January-July period, Hyundai sold a total of around 350-thousand vehicles in China,

down 41-percent from some 600-thousand units last year.

This coming amid tensions between Seoul and Beijing over the U.S. deployment of the THAAD

missile defense system in South Korea.

Four out of five plants in China have stopped production, three in Beijing and one in Hebei

Province, with the fifth plant yet to start operations.

Hyundai Motor's Chinese factories have a combined production capacity of 1.4 million cars a

year...

raising concerns over the automaker's future sales.

Industry watchers say that the company can only wait and endure these setbacks until

the diplomatic problem gets resolved... before it can fully bounce back.

Maserati Ghibli GranLusso and GranSport 2017 REVEALED at Chengdu Motor Show - Duration: 2:29.

Maserati Ghibli GranLusso and GranSport 2017 REVEALED at Chengdu Motor Show

Maserati has debuted the new Ghibli at the Chengdu Motor Show 2017 in two different trims - GranLusso and GranSport.   The new Ghibli is an updated version of the car that was debuted in 2014.

The car has been given a slightly different grille and headlight design but it's much of the same in the looks department for the Ghibli.

Maserati do say the the change in design has improved the car's aerodynamics but by how much is not yet known. It is the two new trim levels which is where the differences will be more apparent.

GranLusso is the luxurious and more elegant version of the sports saloon with new Ermenegilido Zegna sold upholstery and the GranSport is, unsurprisingly, has been designed with performance in mind.

Both trim levels are available on all four powertrain options of the Ghibli and both come with adaptive full LED headlights with glare-free Matrix high-beam.

Two new features included on all trim levels of the car are the Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC) and Electric Power Steering (EPS).  EPS has been added to allow the integration of new Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) like Highway Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist; together with Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Sign Recognition, these features are all available in the Driver Assistance package.

Powering the new range is a 30-litre V6 Twin Turbo engine now delivers 20 more horsepower than before and 30Nm more torque.  This takes the total power output to 430bhp and 580Nm of torque and a sprint time of 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and 177mph top speed. .
