Hello, everyone! This is day 2 of our journey at DreamHack Masters 2017.
We are in Sweden, near Malmo arena, where tens of thousands of viewers
will gather soon to spectate the clash of the best teams in CS:GO.
What are we going to do today? We'll visit the hotel our guys are staying at to find out if they had enough rest,
their expectations for the group, their plans for today and how they are doing in general.
Guys, it's only the second day, but I can honestly say that Malmo is the city of winds,
so if you hear the wind blowing, excuse us, we can't do anything about it.
About Malmo... it's a small city with a beautiful architecture, everything is very compact.
There are a lot of players outside, fans approach them asking for autographs, wait them near the hotel.
If you want to know more about this tournament, I strongly recommend to head to the following link.
In that video last year, our Head of Media, Oleg Bulavko, mentioned the most interesting facts about this tournament.
Misha, it's the second day, tell me what are your plans for to day?
The second day, usually the body still adapts after the flight and feels exhausted, the guys are still sleeping.
It's not that crucial, our first game tomorrow starts at 2 p.m., so the guys can sleep.
Also media day is planned for today, it starts at 3 p.m., after it we'll gather to prepare for our first opponent.
Misha, tell me about your opponents in the group. Who is convenient to play against and who is not, who do you think is strong?
Our group isn't that easy, but not difficult either. I think the clear favorite in the group is Astralis.
They are just stronger now, we are a new team, we had some practice, we can defeat Astralis,
but only if we are lucky, they are one of the best teams in the world after all.
Did I understand correctly, the game against Astralis is a mini-final for Natus Vincere, isn't it?
It's not, I'd say we want to beat VP to play Astralis in a bo3 to measure our strength and learn from it.
When you play against such a strong team, your strengths and weaknesses show up.
Let's say, eve n if we lose, we'll receive a feedback, which we'll use later in the tournament against other teams.
Yes, we won during praccs, but practice is practice,
we didn't lose any Overpass in pracc, but then during official games everything went wrong.
Tell me, do you not think it'd be better to ban Overpass for now, and play other maps that you feel more confident on?
During the groupstage there is no need to ban it, VP doesn't play Overpass, Renegades are weak there,
and for Astralis it's one of their best maps, but we tried to learn from our practices...
So you want to take the risk?
We'd like to play Overpasss against them, because we know that we can show much more on the CT side.
This tournament is important for us, we have two goals...
The first one is to play more games; we'd like to play around 10 maps during the tournament.
We hope to win VP in a bo1, then put up a fight against Astralis, but it's early for us to beat them in a bo3.
Then we have another bo3 to advance from the groupstage, I hope we'll do it.
Then I believe after that practice, we'll be able to beat any team in the play-offs.
We'll see what happens in semi-finals, but we want to play around 10 maps in total, the more, the better.
So the first task is to play as many maps as possible, and the second is to remove the negative emotions.
For the person to show his best, he must understand that we expect him to do his best;
but at the same time there is no negative pressure, no one will blame him for a single mistake, everyone makes mistakes.
Guys, you heard what Misha expects and what we should improve, we'll see what happens soon.
Sasha woke up already. Sasha, tell me your thoughts on the group.
We have a decent group, you don't know what to expect from VP, Astralis are still regaining their form,
Renegades do rather well in the American Pro League, we have to do our best.
And you have to wake up, maybe a cup of coffee?
Yes, you told me something about the coffee here.
Here is some good coffee.
Latte?
You don't know what to expect from VP, what do you mean by that?
They are inconsistent, they show up at large tournaments, they lost everything before the Major,
but there they made it to the semi-finals, they had a chance to advance into finals and face Gambit there, but they didn't deliver.
I don't know about their current form.
What do you think about Astralis? Are they in a good shape? They won a few tournaments recently.
Judging by praccs, they have to improve their individual skill.
They won tournaments long time ago, so I don't know how they'll perform.
Do you mean everyone has equal chance?
Yes, every team.
What about Renegades? What if they show up?
They have a chance to beat Astralis.
Renegades? How?
Renegades are playing well. They have individual skill, they perform well at ESL Pro League
and they've been playing together for a while now, they have a good teamplay.
Which one do you like?
I'd rather take this one.
This magnet, we'll swim like that, after we win the tournament in Sweden.
Guys, we are going to visit S1mple's room to see how he is doing and if he likes it here.
Hello, how is your room?
Hi. The room's small, it could be better, but in Europe the rooms are usually small.
For Karlsson?
Vanya said there are no wardrobes.
Vanya occupied my space here, he took all the hangers and the bed near the window.
Isn't the bed small?
Yes it is, when I turn on my side, I slide down.
Okay, let's go to our meeting, because if I'm late, I'll be punished.
Okay, let's go.
How many times have you been to Sweden?
DreamHack Winter in Malmo, Jonkoping twice in 2014, DreamHack Summer and this is the 4th or 3rd time.
Speaking of the AWPer role, how is it going for you?
It's difficult, you have to play new positions, it's not just about shooting and getting opening kills.
For all the AWP players out there and those who look up to you...
After you've switched to the AWPer role, how are things going with other rifles?
It's alright, I just need to learn to hold angles with an AWP, I watch demos of Fallen, Device, Kennys, Guardian.
I watched Guardian's last two games on Overpass.
Guys, we ran into Guardian, I hope you missed him, because I did.
How is it going in FaZe? How has your life been after joining FaZe?
I don't know, it just happened, but everything's fine.
I've heard you unfollowed S1mple on Twitter, why?
I don't know.
Tell me honestly.
I don't know, something just clicked in my head.
But is it okay now? Have you seen the guys already?
Yes, I sat with Denis yesterday.
Did you talk?
Yes.
Are there no hard feelings?
I think there aren't.
What teams are in your group?
Mouz, NiP and Gambit.
Does it mean that it'll be easier for you to play against Guardian?
As far as I know, you'll be facing them at ESL New York.
Well, I know the positions Ladislav plays in; for example on Overpass, it'll be comfortable to play against him.
Do you think it'll work to your advantage?
Yes, we played together for a year; I know what angles he holds.
But he's aware of your aggressive playstyle.
Yes, but he doesn't know which positions I'm going to play.
He knows how I play with AK/M4, but not with an AWP.
Friends, I'm here with Flamie, he's already woken up.
Misha said that Egor and S1mple are the biggest sleepyheads.
Egor, how do you like the hotel? Have you had enough rest?
Yes, I have. The hotel is fine, we were here last year; it's two minutes' walk from the arena, which is very convenient.
So, the biggest asset of the hotel is its location?
And tell me, what do you think of the group you've been drawn into?
The group is strong, which is exactly what we need now for gaining form.
It'll help us prepare better and identify our current level of play.
Also it's a great opportunity to practice against top tier teams like Astralis and VP and see if we can beat them.
Vanya, what do you think about your opponents in the group: VP, Renegades and Astralis?
Our first opponent is VP, it's a very important game.
If we win it, we'll be playing against Astralis for top seed and a slot in the playoffs.
Astralis are the favorites of the group to me.
It'll be a great experience regardless of the result.
What can you say about Renegades?
To be honest, I don't know much about them.
Do you think they can cause an upset?
Any team can do it nowadays.
What are your overall expectations?
I think that we need to play the tournament as loosely as possible, without pressure.
We didn't set a goal of winning the trophy.
We realize that we are a new team, our game is completely different now.
We want to play decently, the main goal is to draw conclusions from our perfromance, improve as a team and figure out our weaknesses and strenghts.
What are your plans for today?
We'll take part in a photoshoot now, then a video shoot, then an interview and after that we'll start preparing for our tomorrow's opponent.
Friends, the photoshoot for DreamHack Masters' profile pictures is being held now,
and as you can see Zeus is the first one, or Zues as the Swedes call him.
Sanya, tell us about your sponsors, who are they?
We've got amazing sponsors.
Twitch, I prefer to stream on Twitch rathen than on YouTube or whatever.
Then we have ggbet, which is a betting website.
G2A is a marketplace with various skins.
And HyperX provides us with gaming gear.
I really liked our mousepads with nicknames they sent us, mine even has a graffiti.
As you can see, a very promising team is practicing here.
I don't quite remember their tag name, but look how ready the player is and his monitor's position.
I've learned a bit of Chinese language, I'll translate what he says.
He's not giving any information.
I'm sorry, guys, he's not very talkative.
Guys, this is NaVi's practice room, the PCs are not set up yet.
The organizers probably decided that we are 100% ready, not just 15%.
I'm sorry, let's get back to work.
Guys, look where we are.
We are in the arena where the stage is being set for the playoffs, which will be held on 2-3 September.
Look how beautiful this place is.
Thousands of spectators will soon fill the arena.
The huge projection screens are already set up.
There's a lot of equipment in here.
We've recorded a lot of video footage, I hope you liked this episode.
5 batteries died.
We're not saying goodbye, we're just saying see you in the next video.
