She said to me over the phone...
She wanted to see other people
I thought, well, then
Look around
Theyre everywhere...
She said that she was confused
I thought darlin, join the club
24 years old mid life crisis
nowadays hits you when youre young
I hung up... She called back... I hung up again...
The process had already started
Least it happened quick
I swear I died inside that night...
My friend, he called
I didnt mention a thing
The last thing he said was, be sound
Sound
I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit
I just thought those would be such appropriate last words
But Im still here
Small
so small
How could this trouble seem so big?
So big
Well the palms in the breeze still blow green
And the waves in the sea still absolute blue
but the horror
every single thing is a reminder of her
Never thought Id curse the day I met her
and since shes gone and wouldnt hear, who would care?
What good would that do?
But Im still here
So I imagine in a month or twelve
Ill be somewhere having a drink
Laughing at a stupid joke
Or just another stupid thing
And I can see myself stopping short
Drifting out of the present
Sucked by the undertow and pulled out deep
And there I am standing
Wet grass and white headstones all in rows
And in the distance theres one off on its own
So I stop
Kneel
My new home.
And I picture a sober awakening
A re-entry into this little bar scene
Sip my drink til the ice hits my lip
Order another round
And thats it for now
Sorry
never been too good at happy endings...

TWL is back! (But not here...) - Duration: 1:00.
TWL is back… kinda… and not here.
As of today, there's a brand new channel by Wendover Productions and its called Half
as Interesting.
The videos are about half as long and probably about half as good as the ones here.
It's essentially the continuation of the old TWL series without the restriction of
only picking topics from that wikipedia list.
There's no more waiting because the first video is up now and it's about what's
the longest continuous drivable distance on earth.
Videos will be going up there weekly every Thursday at 10:30 am eastern.
Wendover Productions will remain just as it always has, the only difference is that you
can listen to more and more of this voice over there.
I'd really appreciate it if you go over there are subscribe to at least give it a
try for a few episodes.
I've been putting a lot of work into developing that channel and hopefully it will end up
being something great.

I teach middle school sex-ed. Here's what kids ask me and what parents should know. - Duration: 2:59.
One of the things that's tough about talking about sex with kids is the awkwardness that
accompanies it.
Boy, it's been a long time since we've had a little father-son chat.
Just a comfortable man with no shirt on talking to his son about nasty stuff.
I want you to be able to talk to me about it.
Okay, I mean, we're talking, right?
It can be scary for the parent and it can be awkward for the child, or uncomfortable
for the child.
And so, the earlier you start talking about it in the context of ordinary, everyday life,
the less awkward it will be when the more serious concerns come forward.
Say, when should a guy start going around with girls?
Oh, there's, uh, no real answer to that.
Whenever you feel like it, I guess.
Kids' questions run the gambit.
They may be sexual questions.
Some kids may ask is it possible to put your private parts in the wrong hole.
They might want to know if sex always hurts the first time.
One kid might ask what are all the different sex positions.
Don't have sex.
You will get pregnant and die.
Don't have sex in the missionary position, don't have sex standing up.
Something that's important for parents to keep in mind is that whether or not they think
their kids have information, they're probably wrong.
It's probably more or less information than they think they have, or it might be misinformation.
I had a sex educator in the Netherlands tell me that he taught one student who was sure
that if you clean yourself with medical disinfectant after sex, you couldn't get a sexually transmitted
disease.
Could you show me where the ovaries are located?
Ovaries?
Ovaries.
There are girls who don't what a period is until they get it, and that's really traumatic.
I'm hemorrhaging.
What do you mean you're hemorrhaging?
I don't want and I don't need your help!
Vada, did this happen in the bathroom?
Parents have to consider the what, the when and the how.
The what is that it's not just the sex conversation.
It's also a conversation about healthy relationships.
The when is that this is an everyday, ongoing dialogue that you fold into normal conversations
that may or may not be related to sex but can easily be related to relationships.
And the how is that you use everything at your disposal.
You guys are taking precautions?
Okay, Dad, please just don't worry about that.
If you're reading a book together and you see a depiction of an unhealthy or healthy
relationship, talk about it.
Share your own personal experiences, the good, the bad, the ugly.
All of it is useful to kids and it gives them a sense of what your values are.
We really want to make sure what's important to us is information we share with our kids.
If we want them to choose someone who respects them and is kind to them, we need to state
that really clearly and we need to model it for them, and we need to label it when we
see it so they have concrete examples.

Here's The 'Fashion Expert' Who Attacked Melania's Shoes During Texas Visit… | Top Stories Today - Duration: 1:40.
Time and time again, First Lady Melania Trump has been a beacon of grace, class, and elegance
during her tenure in the White House thus far.
However, some liberals — who obviously have no sense of fashion or beauty — just can't
seem to understand that.
On Tuesday, the First Lady travelled to Houston, TX with President Donald Trump wearing high
heels — and the left had a collective conniption fit.
The one who started the entire ordeal was Lynn Yaeger, a columnist at multiple liberal-leaning
sites (New York Times, Huffington Post, etc.)
She wrote her hit piece on Melania Trump in a divisive Vogue column, titling her article
"Melania Trump's Hurricane Stilettos, and the White House's Continual Failure
to Understand Optics."
She was completely shocked by the thought of wearing high heels to greet hurricane victims,
saying "why, oh why, can't this administration get anything, even a pair of shoes, right?"
However, Yaeger's ridiculous outrage was called out even by other far-left personalities.
"I don't know why anyone should care what anyone wears when they're on their way to
help people," The Daily Show host Trevor Noah said, referring to the First Lady's
choice of fashion.
Lastly, until America sees Yaeger out and about helping victims of Hurricane Harvey,
she has no right to criticize Melania Trump for anything.
Period.
