That's probably the best team performance we've produced since I've been here.
Displays like that aren't only about the level of our football,
there are a host of factors which come into play.
We showed great intensity mentally and the team's fitness levels held out till the end.
We afforded AC Milan very few chances.
We approached the game incredibly, we were spot on.
I must say the players were great despite limited time and extra video work.
They did well to understand what to do and how to do it.
It came down to the players' ability, their approach to the game and their feel for it.
You can't teach that and obviously the better the players are, the better the performances.
We were excellent for 95 minutes and driven on by the fans who were incredible as ever.
It feels great. It's a win which will make us stronger and this will give us a lift.
I can't physically stand to lose.
All three of our forwards couldn't afford to put a foot wrong,
both in and out of possession.
They allowed all of the others to produce a magnificent display.
AC Milan had very few shots on goal.
They played the odd through ball
but both Silvestre and Ferrari were able to deal with those.
Strinic and Bereszynski both did well to press them high,
to squeeze them as high as possible and stop them from breaking.
Then there's the midfield.
We have to praise the overall team performance.
I'm pleased for Ricky [Alvarez] who came on
because players really struggle when things aren't going well for them personally.
Yet he came off the bench and scored, so that's great for him.
Verre hasn't played a lot of football but I liked his attitude off the bench at Verona.
He only played four minutes but a picture is worth 1,000 words. That was positive.
Capezzi puts in so much work. No one mentions him or knows much about him
but let me tell you the kid hasn't missed a training session, he's always on it.
Samp's real assets are these guys,
who don't play much but always show up in training.
I've always looked at things that way.
When I say to you 'I have 23 players' it's because I use all 23.
You can't let players down if you show faith in them.
If you don't show faith, you can do whatever you like.
