New Volvo XC40 interior will be the height of functionality, here is why
Volvo SUVs that have been revealed over the past years have been huge successes. The XC90 is a good-looking, practical and premium SUV and the smaller is a more compact and sporty offering.
Later this year Volvo is introducing the , a smaller and more compact version off the latter mentioned car.
It seems however that instead of just condensing the XC60's proportions and slapping a different badge on the back, the Swedish manufacturer is aiming to make the SUV a beacon of functionality.
A few weeks ago Volvo unveiled its ambitions to create a highly personalisible and unique interior design using premium materials.
Adding to the improved quality, bolder and more funky styling, Volvo is also aiming for the available space to be immensely practical and functional.
In a video explaining the car's new interior design, we see what looks like an office desk and two cabinets.
At first it seems like a strange metaphor for a car's interior but it becomes immediately apparent that all these items have a particular place on board the new car.
Volvo has focused on the modern driver and what they actually want and need from their car. Volvo also claims that their new vehicle will lead the way in the small SUV segment in terms of space, storage and all-round functionality.
Its inception was based on observations on how 'city-dwellers' used their vehicles every day in an extensive research project.
"As we spoke to people about how and where they store the things they carry with them daily, it was quite clear that most of today's cars are falling short in this area.
"Phones slide around in the mid-console, takeaway bags are at constant risk of falling over and people fumble behind the wheel as they try to get service cards out of their wallets.
We set out to solve these and many other issues we encountered," says Louiza Atcheba, Model Brand Manager for the 40 series at Volvo Cars.
One of these ideas was removing the speakers from the doors, a common practice that has been around for decades, to make way for space to carry large water bottles, laptops and tablets. Now the subwoofer is located in the dashboard and is the first air-ventilated dashboard-mounted subwoofer in the world. "When we designed the tunnel, the focus was not only on creating a nice design, but also to ensure that cupholders can be used as cupholders and that the design itself provides areas for coins, cards or charging cables. .
"Another focus area was to make a usable space for your phone that offers wireless charging as well as USB ports," said Conny Ewe Blommé, Senior Design Manager at Volvo Cars.
A small foldable hook which has been added to the glove compartment allows a handbag, takeaway bag or small shopping bag to be secured while driving. Under the seat is a discreet storage space to store a tablet or other smaller items. On the dashboard there is also a number of slots for credit and service cars which makes them readily available when the car needs to be refuelled, at toll barriers or drive thus. Another simple innovation is the introduction of a small waste bin to stop clutter in the car (just make sure you on't forget to empty it.).
In the boot, we have designed a smart floor system which folds and can separate your luggage, and allows you to use the full luggage space without removing the floor from the car.
The rear-seat electronic folding mechanism gives you a flat loading floor at the touch of a button," says Conny Ewe Blommé A fold-up boot divider with two hooks has been designed to stop shopping bags and other luggage from slipping around.
In addition to this, every mini innovation is at an arms reach of the driver, meaning you don't have to stretch or be distracted by these things. The Xc40 is shaping up to be a consumer-minded product influenced by consumers.

Lil Uzi Vert's Debut Album 'Luv Is Rage 2' is Finally Here - Duration: 1:59.

Lil Uzi Vert is on a career hotstreak - producing hit singles like XO Tour Llife—which has
reached triple platinum--and jumping into a crowd off a 20-foot stage has proven how
impressive the artist actually is.
The Philly rapper's tracks like "You Was Right" and "Money Longer" have been
certified platinum as well and it's obvious Uzi is just getting started.
Back on October 30, 2015 Uzi released his breakout mixtape Luv Is Rage and fans have
been on the edge of their seat since, itching for new material.
Well, now, the day is officially here because the 23-year-old rapper has dropped his debut
studio LP, and sequel, Luv is Rage 2.
We all got an official announcement of the release date from Uzi yesterday on Twitter
and it read: Tonight at 12…..2 the album…okay bye.
The rapper's tweet got fans hype because the long wait was finally over.
The Luv Is Rage 2 album cover art takes a completely new route than its prequel.
The artwork featured a nod to Virgil Abloh with tape plastered across the cover displaying
Off-White's construction branding.
Uzi took to Instagram to also share what appeared to be alternate covers for the much-anticipated
project, or at the very least they could have just been some extra graphic designs stashed
away for promotional use.
Back in July, five Uzi tracks were shared on DJ Drama and DJ Don Cannon's Gangsta
Grillz show on SiriusXM and it had a lot of fans speculating whether or not the new songs
were leaks from the new album.
Uzi took to Twitter to clear the air and said: Y'all thought them songs was on luv is rage
we coming way harder den dat
And Uzi definitely kept his promise because fans love the 16-track project.
It only includes one holdover: XO Tour Llif3.
The rest of the album is all new material and it has a very short guest list only featuring
mega-artists Pharrell and the Weeknd on "Neon Guts" and "Unfazed".
Lil Uzi Vert also has several show dates lined up until the end of the year, including stops
in Ohio, California, and Arizona and you can peep his official website for the schedule.

We will get the TF2 Pyro Update in September! Here's why. - Duration: 3:04.
Hi, I'm eksmad.
You probably do not know me and that is totally fine
but I can joyfully announce
that the TF2 pyro / jungle / campaign 3 update
will indeed come out in september.
And here is why!
Well, let me point out at first:
This is just a speculation video
from a german idiot.
From me.
But there are several hints that lead me to my prediction.
Sir Stanger made a great video with reasons why the developers delayed the update until now.
You should watch it
because I actually wanted to make a similar video
Instead
this video will show you:
There is no more time for delays
IF
they want to release the update in 2017.
And
they actually kinda have to.
Look at the "Team Fortress 2: History" site
with all the (so called) "Mayor updates" in the list
We can assume
there will be another Scream Fortress
by the middle or the end of october.
In november there will probably be again the Saxxy Awards.
In December they NEED to bring back smissmass
because of the lack of updates this year.
HECK
the site doesnt even count
the "Rainy Day Cosmetic cases" from May 2017!
I know it was a shitty update
if you could even call it an update because
it was AGAIN just stuff
taken from the steam workshop slapped into a case…
but my point is:
There is no update
literally no update
from 2017
on the site, yet.
That's why they are literally not able
to ditch Scream Fortress and Smissmass.
You can't go a year
without ANYTHING.
At least that's what I hope.
Yes, that's also why the update has to hopefully
come out anytime soon
between RIGHT NOW
and
the 21st of september.
Because
between the 22nd and the 24th of september
there will be the charity event "Tip of the Hats"
and I don't see Valve releasing an update
that could intefere with TOTH.
Valve is always very busy
putting charity and tournament medals
pretty quick into the game
as soon as the event has ended.

National Hurricane Center Harveys radar as of 12:30 p. Hurricane Harvey is strengthening in the Gulf, moving closer and closer to the coast.
It was expected to make landfall late Friday night or early Saturday morning along the Gulf coast, but the eye of the storm appears to already be moving near the Corpus Christi area, just north of it.
Unfortunately, after the hurricane hits land, it's expected to stall for several days, which could lead to serious flooding in parts of Texas.
Harvey is the nation's first Category 3 hurricane to make landfall in almost 12 years, since Wilma in 2005. And now it's a Category 4.
There are still predictions of widespread rain and flooding. Dangerous flooding is expected along the coast, but depending on where the hurricane lands and possibly stalls, dangerous flooding may also be seen inland into parts of central Texas.

Brace yourself, Hollywood: There are babies on the way. With the exciting pregnancy announcements of Mindy Kaling, Jessica Alba, Serena Williams and Christina Perri, it appears baby fever has hit the industry.
While we see how stars stay ahead of perpetually changing fashion trends, we dont see as much of what happens behind closed doors.
Now, with the sudden boom of expecting celeb moms, were anticipating an array of baby décor and interior design fit for the pop culture royalty theyre destined to raise. We definitely want to know what thats going to look like.
So we got in touch with Kara Smith, the principal of LA-based firm SFA Design (whose past celebrity clients include Fergie and Josh Duhamel), to learn more about the latest trends in Hollywood nurseries and how to incorporate them in our own homes.
To start, Kara said to ditch the traditional delicate pink and blue hues.
When it comes to nursery design, her high-profile clients are looking for something whimsical yet sophisticated with coordinated shades that are more of a subtle nod to the babys gender. They want a room with personality thats reflective of the parents interests.
New color combinations like taupe, blush, pink and avocado for a girl and lime green, grey with a pop of persimmon for a boy are starting to take off. Clever color pairings are very of the moment, Kara said.
That personal touch is comes alive in a big way with modern art-inspired spaces. Celebs are looking towards iconic museums like LACMA and MoMA to help create a more mature aesthetic thats still suitable for a babys room.
These places now sell home décor accessories, which is useful for finding the right pieces to establish a certain tone. .
However, Kara suggests to refrain from going overboard with a single, dominant idea for your nursery. Instead, she said to focus on making the space positive and fun. Design the room so that it can grow with your child.
Avoid anything too thematic, she said. Ok, but how? Kara let us in on some of her interior decorating tricks that were both helpful and super cute.
We are talking about babies here, after all. One of her tips is to wallpaper the ceiling (Designers Guild has fun options) to complement the color of the walls of a nursery.
Its fun for the little person spending lots of time on his or her back (this is their room, after all!), and a chic design concept.
She also recommended incorporating decorative furniture that serves a dual purpose, such as a wagon to store books. This creates a fun storytelling moment, she said.
Kara also noted that her clients need a comfortable space for both parent and child. She recommends an attractive yet comfortable rocker and automated furniture for baby soothing. The Snoo by Dr. Harvey Karp is also a must-have nursery item right now.
Its a bassinet that moves, rocks, swaddles and calms your baby as he or she is sleeping. Check out some of the items from Kara-approved brands below!.
