Youtube daily make Jan 30 2017

Aww yeah, Global Citizens, I'm Justin, your Fluency Guide from RealLifeGlobal.com, where

we help you not just learn English, but to live it.

To start with, I have a very important, but delicate pronunciation question for you

Have you ever mistakenly pronounced the word BITCH, when you really meant to say the word BEACH,

or maybe you said SHIT, when you were trying to say SHEET, or quite possibly you said FUCK

when you really wanted to say FORK?

Garçom (Waiter)?

Yes Madam.

Can I have a fork ("f*ck") please.

Thank you.

I'm afraid it's not that kind of club.

Or maybe PISS when you were trying to say PEACE - like a PIECE of toast.

Did people laugh at you?

Did you laugh with them?

Well either way if you don't know how to pronounce these delicate, critical

words in English, every time you open your mouth it's like walking through a mine field.

Well after today's lesson, NEVER AGAIN, because I'm going to teach you

the CORRECT WAY to pronounce these delicate words,

But first we're going to laugh our butts off at exactly what NOT TO DO with the most

hilarious, famous bad pronunciation video that you will ever watch: The Italian Man

Who Went to Malta.

But first, to make sure that you practice and really perfect these sounds, I really

recommend that you download the Power Pronunciation Activity to accompany this lesson.

You can find the link in the description, or right here.

This activity contains a PDF breakdown of this entire lesson, plus links to top resources,

and an MP3 that gives you the chance to practice along and imitate.

If you're a teacher, you can even share this with your students.

One day I´m gonna to Malta to a big hotel.

In the morning I go down to eat a breakfast.

I tell the waitress that I wanna two pieces of toast.

She brings me only one piece.

I tell her "I want two piece". ("piss")

She said "Go to the toilet".

I said "You no understand.

I wanna piece on my plate".

She said "You better not piss on the plate you son of a bitch!"

I don't even know the lady and she called me a sun of the beach.

Later, I go to eat at a bigger restaurant.

The waitress brings me a spoon and a knife but no fork.

I tell her "I wanna fork" ("fuck"). She tell me "Everybody wanna fuck!"

I tell her "You no understand.

I wanna fork on the table!"

She said "You better no fuck on the table!

You son of a bitch!"

So I go back to my room in a hotel, and there is no sheets on the bed.

Call the manager and tell him "I wanna sheet" He tells me to go to the toilet!

I said "You no understand.

I wanna sheet ("shit") on my bed".

He said "You better not shit on my bed, you son of a bitch"

I go to the check out and the man at the desk said "Peace on you" and I said "Piss

on you too, you son of a beach".

I´m gonna back to Italia, 'Arrivederci11'

Well, hopefully nothing that painfully embarrassing has ever happened to you with your English

pronunciation, but just to make sure that it never does, let's take a really good

deep look at the subtle, but critical difference between these two sounds, as well as the mouth

movement, and muscles of articulation.

So to really avoid the embarrassing mispronunciations that we just went through, you really have

to master the difference between these two critical sounds, the Short I, the "IH"

sound, "IH," and the long E, the "EE" sound, "EE."

So just to give you a few examples- feel free to listen and imitate, to repeat, grab a recorder

and even listen to yourself and listen back.

So the IH sound, the short I, we have LIVE, IT, FILL, BITCH, SHIT, PISS

and the long E sound, we have LEAVE, EAT, FEEL, BEACH, SHEET, and PEACE.

Now we're going to do a minimal pairs exercise and compare them really quickly.

I'm still gonna give you a chance to repeat.

So we have live-leave, it–eat, fill–feel, bitch–beach, shit–sheet, piss–peace.

Okay excellent, the sound is really gonna help, but now let's have a look at the mouth

movements, the muscle of articulation, which, for most people will be really helpful in

mastering these sounds.

So here we have a profile diagram of the mouth and the organs of articulation, which I'm

going to use to show you the main differences between these two sounds.

The three things that distinguish these sounds occur in:

The movement of the tongue, the lips, and the jaw.

Let's take a look at the long e, or the "ee"-"ee" sound, present in the words

LEAVE, EAT, FEEL, BEACH, SHEET, and PEACE.

When you make the EE sound, while the tip of the tongue stays down, the front part of

the tongue lifts toward the roof of the mouth without touching- this is the roof of the

mouth here- another more common meaning of ROOF is the roof of a house.

So there should be a small space here between the front part of the tongue and the roof

of the mouth.

When making the EE sound, the lips will often open up

to stretch horizontally as you can see in this picture.

It's good to exaggerate this when you practice EE - EE, almost like you're half smiling.

So just to review, the long EE sound—EE- EE is made when the lips stretch open horizontally

and the front part of the tongue lifts, or curls, toward the roof of the mouth, leaving

just a little bit of space between the tongue and the roof.

Keep in mind that the jaw does not move.

Give that a try at home— it really helps to do it, to feel it.

EE, EE, EE.

Leave- Eat- Feel- Beach- Sheet- Peace.

So the EE sound causes a horizontal opening of the mouth, from side to side- now compare

this to the IH sound, on the other hand- IH, IH in words like LIVE, IT, FILL, BITCH, SHIT, and PISS

you see, it does NOT open horizontally,

but instead it opens in a slight vertical way.

This is because the IH sound- IH- causes the jaw to drop down, which leaves more space

between the tongue and the roof of the mouth.

So to review, the short I, or the IH sound is made when jaw drops a little bit – causing

the lips to open vertically, and the tongue to lower and give more space between the front

of the tongue and the roof of the mouth.

Let's give that a try at home and really feel it in our mouths- IH, IH, IH.

LIVE - IT - FILL - BITCH - SHIT - PISS

Aww yeah, I hope you enjoyed today's lesson, that it helped your pronunciation, and that

this embarrassing mistake never ever happens to you.

If you haven't yet, feel FREE to download the free power pronunciation activity, which

includes a PDF that covers this entire lesson, links to the top resources for these sounds,

as well as an MP3 so that you can practice on your own at home.

If you haven't already, please give this channel a subscribe, if you like this video

give it a thumbs up, we would really love that, and finally I have one more thing that

I want to ask of you, a new activity that I'm just trying out: question of the day.

So my question for you is what's the most embarrassing pronunciation mistake that you

have ever made.

I'm gonna share my answer in the comments below and post it on top.

I would love it if you shared yours, cuz really it's the best thing when we can laugh at ourselves

when we can have fun, and recognize that it's part of the process.

Aww Yeah!

WWE Wrestling Cake | How to Make a Championship Wrestling Belt Cake - Duration: 8:27.

everyone's changed from foods and today

I'm sure to make this WWE wrestling k

now this is a championship belt

wrestling cake now this was a request by

quite a few different people so thank

you so much for that request i really

appreciate that and if you're interested

in making this keep watching now she has

step-by-step how to make this now first

we're going to start off with a large

bowl and i have one cup of sugar have

one third cup of softened butter that's

the softened at room temperature

we just want to mix this up until it's

well combined

now we're going to add two eggs one at a

time and blend it

next I have one half cups of flour all

purpose flour and i have two tablespoons

of baking power which i'm going to put

in there and also you're going to want

about a half a teaspoon of salt just

going to mix this through really good

once it's been mixed in good

we're just gonna dump about half of it

into our batter and mix through

but that's mixed in i have one cup of

whole milk i'm going to put about half

of it in right now and mix in

then 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and

the rest of our flour and the rest of

our milk now we'll take some butter and

we're going to line our pan with some

butter will smear someone here now we're

going to take some flour and we'll put a

little bit in the dish and you just

shake it around and get it covered

really good and whatever access put it

back into your flower now we're just

going to line this with our batter and

spread it evenly

and we just want bacon in the oven at

350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes when

your cakes done baking just take it out

of the oven and let it cool now that my

cake is all cool down it's nice and cool

to the touch

i'm going to put out to a serving dish

and then we're going to cut it up so I'm

gonna take this it's a good idea to go

along the edges and just make sure it's

all separated from the side and just

simply flip this over hopefully it'll

come out there we go now printed up this

little guide for me and this is going to

show me where i need to cut for my belt

you can just print it up online to

search WWE belt and you'll find about

just put it up really big the size you

want i'm just going to lay it right

about here so i don't have to cut the

side here is already pretty even there

and you just want to hold your knife

upright and you can do it in sections

ok

we don't want to throw this away because

it's perfectly good cake we can make

some cake pops with this or something

else now just take this set this aside

we're going to cut our other piece in a

minute now with other cake was going to

flip this over the same way we did the

other one and for this i have this piece

but we're gonna have to cut two of these

pieces out one for each side

ok this is what our rough cut looks like

now I have a pack of bonded this is

black fondant normally I make my own

fondant but when it comes to black it's

hard to get that real dark color so i

bought this store bought you can get at

any craft store just needed a bit until

it softens up enough then you can just

roll it out want to get it nice and thin

now i'm just a rough coat all over my

cake first one join the ends then I'm

just going to cover the whole thing with

some frosting this is just regular white

false name buttercream frosting

and once you have a rough coat we're

just going to roll out our fondant onto

over the cake now I knew it wasn't

covered the whole thing if you have a

bigger piece you can use that but I just

have to work with what I got to work

with and then i'll use some more on the

end and you can just use a pizza cutter

but if you have one of the tools that

cuts off on it you can use that instead

and i'm going to go along and cut along

the base

now i have enough fondant to roll out

after I cut off the excess and I'm just

gonna lay that over top of the end here

now what I've done is heated up some

yellow candy melts just put microwave

heating it up and put it into this

piping bag and carefully i'm just going

to trace over my printout and I have

some wax paper on there and I've also

take down the end of the wax paper so it

doesn't move and I will try to trace

this out

and we'll just let that dry up we'll do

the other one in a few minutes now i'm

going to use the red candy melts and

color in the red parts now try

decorating this cake a couple different

ways of trying to frosting I've tried it

with going over mold and it did work for

the sides but for the big part it didn't

work out too good so what I'm gonna do

is actually melt my chocolate in put it

on here directly will be free him

hopefully works out good

well thanks everyone for watching I hope

you enjoyed watching me make this WWE

wrestling cake and I really had a good

time making this was a lot of work but

I'm not artist I did the best I could i

hope you enjoyed it and if you like this

would enjoy it as well right

Pack Your Skills - Travel the world, make a difference - Duration: 1:40.

Hey ! We are Isis and Maxime,

we are the co-founder of Pack Your Skills.

Do you know Pauline ?

She is a graphic designer and she is

planning to pack all her stuff to travel a couple weeks.

But Pauline, she doesn't really like

to travel on all touristic places, to live in a hotel.

For her trip, she would like to meet people,

to discover the life of the locals and the best

would even be to get involved in some projects.

It could be very interesting for Thibault

With his crew, they are developing a beautiful startup

to fight the isolation of seniors

and reconnect generations.

They are working very well

but I know that they need more communication

to maximize their impact.

A graphic designer would be very helpful !

Thank to Pack Your Skills, they can meet,

travellers can go volunteer abroad,

within startups with positive impact or charities,

they bring their skills, and they get hosted in exchange.

But it is not just about creating the good match

Pack Your Skills comes from that dream that,

everybody should have the opportunity to

do what they are the best at in a project they love.

With Pack Your Skills, Pauline can travel,

meet amazing people,

discover the entrepreneurship ecosystem of a new city,

value her skills and feel very impactful !

For Thibault,

it's a very good way to have new skills in his team

to work on the communication,

but it's also a great human experience

with the openness and the external vision of the travelers

Make Felt to Eco-print for Beginners - Duration: 15:59.

Hi everyone this is a video on how to

make felt - a beginner's guide. My name is

Aannsha Jones and the materials you need

are listed below the video. So first of

all we're going to see how to pull

wool tops apart to lay down for felting.

So basically, holding the main bundle of tops

fairly softly, grab the top firmly

and then just pull... so you hold the big

bundle quite gently and then grasp the

end with a firm hold and you pull firmly

apart until you get a little bundle or swatch.

You might want to practice that before

you start! So first of all you're going

to lay out the first layer and you

overlap little swatches of the wool that

you're pulling off the main wool rovings

Then you're going to lay a second layer.

Basically you overlap each piece so that

there are no gaps and if you do you

discover any gaps when you pat it down

just fill them in with another little

piece of wool. Remember that wool when

it's felted, shrinks by about 30%.

So if you want to certain size of felt,

you're going to have to factor that in.

Repeat the process until you have three

layers of wool roving or wool tops

laid out neatly.

Then you cover it with netting. If you get a

nylon netting either netting from a

craft store or second hand shop

this is a net curtain,

it wont felt with the material but it

will keep the fibres in place. Then you

spray the wool with a solution of soap/water

Dissolve some soap in water until there is

enough water to soak through into

all of the wool. You rub the wool

gently with a little bit more soap and

then you start to rub the material very

very gently to start with so that the soap

rubs into the material. This stresses the

wool and it actually helps the wool to

be absorbed.

Every so often you need to pull the netting

back, as the wool fibres can migrate

through the hole in the netting. So I'm

pulling my net curtain back here (which I

got at a second hand or op shop) and the

fibres are starting to make their way

through the little holes in the netting.

You need to keep doing this regularly to

start with because otherwise you'll have

pilling on the outside of the netting

and you'll lose some of the wool from the actual

piece of felt you're trying to make and also it

will be pretty difficult to remove the

netting if felt it it completely without

doing this process!

Now you do a little pinch test, to see how

well the fibres are felting together. As you

can see, these fibres are actually still

very unfelted - they're still quite

separate from each other, so there's a

lot of work that still needs to be done.

And you can also see as I hold the

fibres on the outside of the felt here

that it's still got a lot of felting

that needs to be done. You're going to repeat this

rubbing and peeling back the netting and

pinch testing a couple more times and

as you work the felt, eventually you can

start to rub it more and more firmly. In

fact you can even use a bunched up piece

of bubble wrap to give the rubbing a bit

more friction. What you do need to do is

make sure that you rub every single

piece of felt. Don't leave any fiber

without being rubbed because it's

this friction and the alkaline of the

soap and water that helps it felt

together. Now you can also use a glass with

a patterned base if you've got one because

that gives even more friction again and

as the felting process comes along you

can actually start to rub it quite

firmly, because the more firmly you rub it

the more you're stressing the fibers and

the more the fibers are going to grab

together which is actually what makes

the wool felt together. They've got

little hooks in them that act like barbs

and they will grab together - and that's

basically what happens when you felt.

So you keep going here making sure that

you do the edges as well as the insides.

You've got to do the edges so that there aren't

any loose fibres left. Then we check

the wool again and you'll see how

much more easily it comes away from the

netting this time. And you'll also see

that it's a lot more of a sturdy

material. Doing a little bit more

rubbing - one final rub. Obviously the amount of

rubbing depends on the size of the piece

of felt and the thickness, or the amount

of layers of wool that you've actually

laid down.

Obviously the thicker it is, the more you

have to do. So rubbing in all directions

and then we pull the netting away and we

have a nice piece of material that

is well

felted together to the first stage. So now

we're going to cover the material with

bubble wrap and roll it firmly around a

pool noodle or half a noodle and secure

it with elastic bands. I always keep my

elastic bands on the end of the noodle.

So roll it nice and firmly so there are no gaps

between the bubble wrapping and fibre and

the noodle. And rapid it all. And now it's

time to roll.

Use very good pressure and roll it

backwards and forwards - between 50 and

100 times - again depending on the

thickness and the size of your felt that

you're making. You certainly get a really

good workout in your upper arms, so it's a

great exercise! I always turn it a few

times through the rolling process to

make sure that it's evenly rubbed and

rolled. When you've done that 50 times, uncover

it and we're going to give it a quarter

turn because felt shrinks in the

direction it's stressed, so if you're rubbing

it one way all the time

you're going to end up with a long thin piece!

So you unwrap it

and I give it a quarter turn clockwise. I

always do it clockwise and that way I know

I'm turning it the right way each time.

But whatever works for you! Just keep it

a consistent direction. And then we're going

to roll it another 50 times and you need

to do this three times so that you're rolling

the felt and it gets the opportunity

to shrink evenly.

Making sure when you put it back that

the felt is nice and flat and that

there are no lumps or creases and

rolling again ...

And another quarter turn.

Rolling ...

Some people do this part of the process

under their feet so they sit on a

rocking chair so their legs get a good

workout! But I always work on the

counter top in my kitchen.

So that's looking good now, it's got a

really good strong feel to it. So

we're going to give the felt a good rub in

all directions and this is really stressing

it now, so where the felt-making

process happens, all the fibers grab

together and made a material out of

all of the wool roving - what we're

doing here is a term called "fulling" - so

it's shrinking the material and as it

shrinks, it starts to become a lot

stronger and it takes on qualities - like

water resistance - which you'll see after

we've rinsed the soap out of it. We do

rinse this gently in luke warm water as

extremes of temperature will cause the

felt to keep shrinking and at this point if we've

reached the size we're happy with, we

want to make sure that it doesn't shrink any more.

You can see that traditional bubbly

texture that you get when you have a

lovely fulled piece of felt. And if you

have a look here the water is beading

on the surface so that shows you some

good water resistance meaning you've got a good

piece of material here.

Time to change the water and take away

the bubble wrap that has soap on it.

So we give it another rinse just to make

sure there's absolutely no soap. As soap is

alkaline and is stressful for the wool,

and we don't want to leave it with an

alkaline finish. We want it with an

acid finish - so we have a final rinse

in water that has a teaspoon of vinegar

and it really benefits the wool because

it will help it to stay firm and strong.

Now leave it to soak for a little while, while you

tidy up. ... Taking it out of the vinegar

soaking water and it's time to gently

pull it into shape and squeeze out the

excess moisture in a towel and dry it flat

Felt is a great material because it is very

forgiving, but it also moulds into the shape

that you pull it, which is why we have

felt used in making Akubra hats and

bowls and all sorts of wonderful items.

Now we're going to gently roll it in a towel

and gently squeeze the excess moisture

out of it. And there you have it - a

beautiful piece of felted wool.

Now this piece of wool, I actually eco-

printed with some leaves from my garden

and some sapphire dye and doesn't look

beautiful? But we can also use felt in

many different processes and one of them

is to make a felt painting / picture. If you're

interested in making a felt painting or

laying out the wool in a nice design

then there will be a link to another

video that you can watch that will help

you

to do this. And also there is another video

on each other printing a tee shirt as well.

Mixed Media Book Cover, How to Make a Simple Booklet - Duration: 5:40.

Hi everyone!

This is Smitha from the blog Smiling Colors and thanks for stopping by today.

Today I am getting crafty and I actually sharing two techniques with you- How to make your

own simple booklet and give it a Mixed Media cover.

So let's get started!

I have trimmed a few sheets of cardstock to measure 6 by 12 inches in size I am folding

these in half with a bone folder to create a nice crease.

The cardstock I chose today comes from this paper stack by DCWV.

Its a really creamy and soft cardstock.

It's the month of February after all, so to make my book Valentine themed I have cut

die a bunch of heart shapes from a rainbow of cardstocks.

The cardstock I used here comes from this jewel tone pack- I love all the different

shades of color they have here.

I will leave links to all the supplies used in todays video in the description box below

so you can find them easily.

Our booklet here approximately measures 6 by 6 inches, I am calling it a booklet because

there are so few pages in it but basically I am still using it like a book.

I am going to bind this book together with a simple stitch in the center.

For that I am marking out a small dot an inch in from the top and bottom on each page.

This will be where I insert my needle.

Today I am using some colorful twine and I have threaded it into this needle here.

You want to insert the needle into the spine and pull it out from the centre page of the

book Insert the needle into the other side and pull through leaving a good 4 inch at

the end to help tie off at the end.

Repeat this once more and then just the the two ends together tightly and neatly.

Double knot it to make sure it won't unravel and I actually go back and squirt a little

glue onto the knot one the book is done.

Trim the excess twine off and the spine is ready.

To make all the pages line up evenly, I am using a guillotine trimmer today.

Ok here is how the book looks with the edge neatly trimmed.

I did up cutting a small bit that the trimmer get but it looks good now.

Now time to use those hearts!

I am using Tombow's Mono adhesive + permanent here.

It's so easy to use and the hearts are adhered immediately.

So my idea here is to have a rainbow of hearts on the inside pages.

During the rest of February, I am going to be hand lettering some love and marriage quotes

onto the hearts, maybe add some doodling around each page too.

And I will share how they turned out on my instagram page @theshinynest.

This book would make an awesome little scrapbook to jot down your love story, your engagement

history or just how you met and got married.

You can add photos onto the hearts and tell a story to go along with it.

Now the inside pages of the book are ready, so I am going to go ahead and show you how

to create a mixed media cover.

I am staring by adding a rainbow with my favorite Tombow Dual Brush pens onto this triangle

stencil.

I don't want to cover the entire page here, just a small area.

I really should have opened my pen caps before filming, or I should have taped my stencil

down - but I made it work, don't worry.

Now I want rainbow colors to bleed and mix a little so I am just going over the triangles

with a clean dry paper towel here and gently mixing the colors into each other.

Remember the cardstock I used was silky and soft and so the colors just sit on the paper

and take a little time to absorb thus giving me a little time to move them around the way

I like.

Now a mixed media art piece basically means you can add in different media other than

paper- like lace, and this rubber embellishment, some stitching.

You could add burlap, cork, metal anything goes really.

I going to add a shipping tag cut down to fit, a strip of patterned paper, maybe a paper

doily.

Just reach for items that you love and add bits and pieces of it onto the cover to add

extra dimension and textures.

Here I have an old library card.

I love collecting such stuff and usually have a bin in my craft tool where keep gathering

stuff I want to use on a mixed media project.

I am going to add some twine to the shipping tag next and I think that looks about right.

I haven't glued any layer down yet- but at this point I think I ready to commit to this

design.

To glue down paper onto paper I am using the same Mono adhesive + permanent that I used

before.

To glue down everything else I am reaching for the Tombow Mono multi adhesive XL.

This glue is perfect to use in a mixed media project, I use the fine tip to glue down smaller

pieces and for larger areas I use the wider tip to apply a more generous amount of glue.

I love using to glue down lace, textured papers, small jewels etc.

Now I want to give my book a title of sorts.

And so I am using a bunch of stickers to say " Listen to your heart, trust your heart

and follow your heart.

I love how these words go together.

Finally I going to open the cover and trim off all of the excess hanging off the edges

with a large pair of scissors.

And that's it!

My little valentine book is ready.

It has a pretty mixed media cover that I totally me and I love the colorful hearts inside.

Make sure you stop by follow me on instagram to see how these inside pages got filled with

words and designs.

any future videos.

I am going to leave you here with two of my previous videos.

I hope you enjoy them!

Thanks for spending this crafty time with me today friends!

How to make Pastels d'Atum (Sabores de Criola) - Duration: 15:47.

Hello everyone, Sabores de Criola is presenting

with Chef Georgette Da Cruz Boaventura from the island of Sal (Cape Verde Islands), "Pastel d'Atum".

Now we'll let our Chef show us how to make pastels.

It's better to make the pastel over a two day period.

The first day we will season the Tuna.

The tuna will absorb all flavors overnight in the fridge.

The next day we will prepare the dough to make pastel.

First you put the Tuna in the mixer,

Start blending until the Tuna is finely mixed.

Add 1 chopped onion in the blender...

Then add 3 peeled cloves of Garlic, chop them in half and insert them in the mixer

flavor it a bit with Pili Pili...

Peppers?

Now we mix all these flavors

When everything is well mixed then you'll get this as result which you join with the Tuna...

Add a bit of laurel powder,

... some Salsa,

Salsa... What do you mean with Salsa?

... Salt,

... and Celery Salt.

Lemon juice.

Lemon... ok.

but first a bit of Knorr Aromat.

What's next?

A spoon of Olive oil.

... and again a bit of Lemon juice for the flavor

Now blend it all together by hand.

How do Cape Verdean people say this in Creole... we...

We'll blend everything together.

You have all those flavors together and...

Oooh yes... it smells good!!!

The filling is ready and we'll let it rest until tomorrow.

Then you'll let the filling rest overnight?

I'll let it rest in the fridge until tomorrow. Preparing the dough takes about 10-15 minutes.

Why do you let it rest for a day?

Then it will taste better.

Ah... the taste will be better.

Then you will smell the sense of the aroma.

All blended ingredients will give it a richer flavor.

When you blend all the ingredient then let it rest overnight.

Tomorrow we will prepare the dough and then show you how to make the different forms.

Day 2 with Chef Georgette, she will show us how to prepare the dough

We put wheat flour in a big bowl...

...and start pulsing the dough until it's well blended,...

So people, we're using Wheat Flour...

Add a bit of Baking Powder,

Now add this...

Add a bit of Salt,

A bit of Salt...

... Knorr Aromat

Knead everything

You're kneading everything

Also we put a bit of milk...

...and butter in a cooking pan.

Cook it gently over a low fire.

Then now...

...add some Milk tot the Wheat Flour and start pulsing again.

She poured Milk into the bowl to start pulsing again.

Keep pulsing until it's a clumpy dough form and add some milk again.

On point... what does that mean?

It means, "when the dough is pretty stiff"

To make it more...?

More solid but still sticky.

With stiff, she means solid.

Let me show the bowl to the people.

Wait, let me fix this first...

Now you can take the dough with your hands.

I've added some Wheat Flour because the dough is still too soft.

We'll let it rest for 10-15 minutes in bowl.

Why do you let it rest for 15 minutes?

That the dough takes it's time to rise.

Can you show us how it looks when it 's almost done? Then we'll let it rise for 10-15 minutes.

The dough is ready to prepare for the filling.

Now i'll add Flour on the surface before using the pasta machine.

I will split the dough in several smaller dough balls.

She puts Flour on the surface so that the dough won't stick.

What are you doing now?

I'll be splitting the dough in small balls...

She splits and tears pieces from the dough

Now I'll put the small dough ball in the pasta machine.

For people, who don't have a pasta machine, you can use a rolling pin.

Then will you show us how to make pastel without a pasta machine,...

... by using a rolling pin?

Roll out the dough into a thin sheet.

Does it have to be really thin?

Yes, it really needs to be thin.

When you want to prepare a lot, then start with thinning all the dough to reduce time.

It's easier to work with the pasta machine instead of a rolling pin, as it reduces the preparation time.

Put some flour on the surface, spread the dough nicely out for the filling.

Lower the number on the pasta machine to thin the dough even more.

Now i'll do the same steps.

I'm placing the end in the pasta machine.

I'll place it in and turn the handle to roll the dough out.

Wait a second.

Spread it open so that it won't stick.

Spread the dough nicely out on the surface.

I've messed up a bit, but it doesn't matter.

Thank you Georgette for my first pastry

Now let's take the fish we prepared yesterday out of the fridge.

Look, come and inhale...

Oooh it smells good!!! Let me taste a piece!!!

It's delicious people. Let's see what will happen now.

You're making little ball pieces.

Do it like this...

Oh, that way you can make a lot more.

Now let's try how Georgette showed us...

Grab a big piece and take small balls from it.

Is this ok...? and this one...?

No, you need to keep less space in between otherwise you'll never have enough for a party?

I don't let much space in between like the other ones!

We fold the dough and seal the edge by by pressing the dough with your fingers

So for every ball, you fold and seal the dough...

You're going to do yours.

I will try it now.

We fold it up from beginning until the end.

You can use a round cut out disc.

...a fork or a pasta wheel cutter to help seal the edges.

Can you show us how each of them work?

With this round cut out disc, you'll get this shape.

I don't like that shape!

Now she's doing the edges with a fork...

I prefer the other one.

It will be more refined when using a pasta wheel cutter

She's cutting them with a pasta wheel cutter.

This way they look better.

Put cooking oil in a frying pan.

Let it heat up a bit.

We're letting the oil reach a boiling point so that we can fry the pastels.

I'm helping our Chef Georgette with cutting our pastels while she's frying them.

These are all frozen from the freezer?

When you put them in freezer they'll stay like this.

Let me show you how the pastels looks when frozen.

When you have a visit or a party, take the pastels out and fry them to be served.

Now let us taste the one's that are ready.

Mmmm... delicious

Thank you Georgette.

To teach us how to make pastel.

I'm off to give the men some pastels as they are waiting.

Until next time, Sabores de Criola.

My pleasure.

How to make Canton dim sum chicken roll 鸡扎 (+ bonus simple healthy version) - Duration: 5:11.

Hi everybody. Today I gonna show you how to make dim sum.

I gonna do chicken roll.

Chicken roll is very common in dim sum restaurant

but I don't think it's common that people make it at home.

I don't know why but actually it's quite east. So, let's start!

We don't need a lot of ingredients.

What we need is bean curd sheets.

For the bean curd sheets, you can buy it in the Asian market.

So when you buy it the size is like this.

Then I cut it into strips.

For the size depends on what ingredients you use.

Coz I will use crab meat sticks, so I cut it to the size a little bit shorter than the crab meat sticks.

So after you steam it looks very well.

Another ingredient is mushroom.

I use the dried mushroom coz they have very nice aroma smell.

We also need chicken meat.

We also have crab meat sticks and potatoes.

The potatoes I cut it into strips and I have already marinated it for 15 minutes.

For this portion I use 2 teaspoons of dark soy sauce.

2 teaspoons of Chinese cooking wine.

2 teaspoons of sesame oil. 2 teaspoons of cornstarch

and 1 teaspoon of salt.

And those you tried in dim sum restaurant they may use other ingredient like tripe 猪肚 or (fish) maw 花膠.

You can also use those ingredients just that it takes more procedures to make it.

And today I gonna do the simple chicken roll.

First of all we gonna deep fry the bean curd sheets.

The purpose of it is to make it tougher

so later on when you roll the ingredients inside it won't be broken so easily.

Also the texture gonna be more chewy after steaming it.

Now we prepare a pan of cooking oil and also a bowl of water.

Coz after we deep fry the bean curd sheet, we gonna put it into water immediately to soften it.

We just dip into the oil very quickly.

Watch out.

In case if you break it, doesn't matter.

Put it into the water.

Keep it for a few minutes and it gonna soften itself.

After a few minutes you can see it's already quite soft.

And we can do the roll.

So put the ingredients inside.

Then roll it. It's very very easy.

Very nice.

I gonna do another two with bean curd sheets without deep -fry.

Without deep-fry it gonna be healthier and you don't have to do all the deep-fry steps

which could be quite a lot of things to do.

I think it tastes very good too. So I will do one traditional version and one healthier version.

Without deep-fry, I recommend 2 to 3 bean curd sheets

coz they can be broken very easily.

The same, you put the bean curd sheet in water to soften it.

We gonna do the same steps.

What you can do is you can do a lot of rolls.

And then leave those you are not going to eat immediately in the freezer.

Then you don't have to do it again next time when you wanna have chicken rolls.

Now you can see I have prepared 4 chicken rolls.

And now we can steam it.

We gonna steam the chicken rolls for 10 minutes.

Ok. Time's up and see how it goes.

It looks pretty nice.

And you can see the difference of those with deep-fried skins and those without the deep-fried skins

Now we can put them on the plate.

The ones with deep-fried skin are quite easy to handle.

Watch out those without the deep-fried skin.

Just be careful when you put them on the serving plate.

Coz they are quite fragile.

There's still some sauce, you can put them on the plate.

And that's done. Thanks for watching. Remember to give me a like and subscribe my channel

and enjoy!
