Kurdistan24 finds Hujam Surchi's beheading place, takes family to Mosul - Duration: 4:06.
We are in the house of martyred Peshmerga Hujam Surchi who was beheaded by the Islamic State (IS).
The Peshmerga soldier was martyred barbarically [by IS] after he was arrested.
He is one of the motivations of Peshmerga who combat occupation and tyranny.
At his home, Surchi left nothing after him except some photos and memories.
With his family, we headed to the front line where he was arrested by IS after three days of fierce combat.
But, the Iraqi army prevented us from going to the area.
We decided to discuss the story of his arrest with Surchi's friends.
According to one of Surchi's friends, after three days of combat in the Shalalat area, notheast Mosul,
the villagers of Tiliyabis supported IS behind Peshmerga's back forcing the Kurdish troops to withdraw.
Eight Peshmerga were martyred and Surchi was wounded.
The villagers handed Surchi to IS.
Peshmerga Commander: IS caught him and martyred him barbarically.
After five days of searching in Mosul, the Kurdistan24 team discovered the location where he was beheaded
and took Surchi's family to the place where the Peshmerga was martyred.
On Jan. 21, 2015, IS inhumanely martyred Surchi in the Muthanna neighborhood - Mosul.
With Surchi's oldest son, we arrived at the location where his father was martyred.
The residents of the neighborhood confirmed the location and stated two of the IS members who appeared in the video were speaking in Kurdish.
The residents were afraid to talk for us. We tried a lot.
But the fear of IS made them refuse to talk even behind the camera.
Surchi's son: We thank Kurdistan24 for finding the location and informing us.
Now, I am standing in the place where my father was martyred.
We would like to find the body of my father.
I ask everyone to help us find the body of my father.

Surchi is the first Peshmerga soldier IS barbarically martyred.
He is also one of the symbols of Peshmerga who sacrificed his soul for Kurdistan.
Since the IS war in June 2014, the whereabouts of 56 Peshmerga soldiers are unknown.
Whenever Peshmerga forces defeated IS on the front lines, the insurgent group published footage of martyring Peshmerga.
The whereabouts of the lost Peshmerga soldiers remain unknown.
Peshmerga has often been labeled the first ground troops that defeated IS.
And it was Peshmerga that destroyed the myth of IS and pushed the threat out from Kurdistan's land.
