Hi, I'm Sophie and welcome to my world and as
always whenever I have Frankie it's a
better day in my world
so Miss Frankie guess was coming up what
Valentine's Day is Valentine's Day a big thing at your school
not really most of the time we just
exchanged like little valentine cards
you do cards? i mean i remember when i was
a kid we used to make like little
mailboxes do they still do that? no we
just get little bags and write our names
on it and throw them in there
well I have something that you could
make for valentine's day that will like
rock your world or at least your friends
so here's the deal are you allowed
to have candy at school
most of the time haha ok then they're
definitely gonna like this
because these are robot candies so candy
robots I should say not robot candies that
would be rather I don't know what would
that be
a gear and no.... ok so we
are making candy robots and I have come up
with a bunch of little sayings here like
Valentine you make my heart go beep beep
I know that's the thing
about Valentine's they can be as corny
as you want them right so i made a
template of these and you can download this
on my website and you can have just so
you don't have to write your own or you
can come up with your own cuz i'm sure
that you could come up with some really
better ones than this like this one is
Valentine I am all a bot you
ok long story short we are going to make
candy robots for this project we're
going to need assorted candies glue dot
scissors googly eyes and Valentine's
well wishes which you can get from
my website we are going to use glue dot
because hot glue tends to melt certain
candy you know like chocolate and stuff
like yeah but the thing about it is if
you're using wrapped candies which is
what you want to use when you're doing
doing project like this because you're
gonna give it to somebody you don't want
to come you don't want to glue something
together that you know unwrapped
then you can't
eat it right so we're going to be using
glue dots for these main things like the
chocolate and stuff but if we got
something like laffy taffys or these you
know like these smarties we can use
a hot glue gun for them and especially
if it's gonna be like the base of
something like a
starburst or something like that or one
of these now or later it's totally fine
to use a glue gun but you get to choose
so here's the thing there's no
right wrong or indifferent
you know so basically you can
start using anything and everything that
you see here and go to town i mean you
can make tiny little robots
i'm going to make a tiny robot while
you make a big robot or whatever you
want but we do have these sweetheart
they make a great base for the for the
body or you know what
those little nerds are really good
for your body base too again if you
want to make like a little tiny baby
robot so this is the thing whatever
candy you have on hand you can get
started my dear whatever you want to use
here's your glue dots and it's really easy
just take whatever candy you want and
start sticking them together now I'm
going to give Frankie here her glue dots so
can go to town over here if you need the
hot glue just let me know i mean you can
use it to the thing about this is
that if you've got leftover candy from
christmas or you have leftover candy
from halloween like I know some people
actually end up with all this candy left
over from halloween this is the perfect
way to use it all up
it's really really simple really really
great so Frankie i'm just going to have
you why don't you pull the candies
that you like and that way our
cameraman can get you making stuff gets
I'll just put them off to the side you
can choose that way you don't have to
stifle your creativity
the one thing i did like is they have the
Lindor. oh I love them
do you like these? these are
fun but if you look at the Lindor label
the way it goes its kind of got a
smiley you put a little eyes on here so
I am going to do that while you're
doing this so I'm gonna take some eyes
here
actually no
I'm gonna make some lovestruck eyes here
and when you put it on the Lindor here
doesn't that look like a smile
these kind of looks like ponytails or
like piggy tails sticking out
really wild on the side so I kind of
like i like i like that he makes a good
makes a good robot now don't feel
like you have to go out and buy you know
Lindor candies because you don't get
very many in the box but they are super
fun if you happen to have them on
hand so really the thing about this is
that it's up to you how to make one you
don't like I said there is
absolutely no right or wrong on this and
you can just get as creative as you want
to and it really depends on what you
think of when you think of the robot
i'm going to do another excuse me for
putting my arm in front of you like that
i'm gonna put one right there
now this is a great place where I could
use hot glue gun because I've got a box the
nerd boxes are great for this little
nerd box and I'm just going to stick this
now or later on top
I like the square shapes like i
i love things like the round shapes
for heads and stuff like that and you
know what I really like for heads Frankie
are these make heads too though but i
really like these Rolos aren't those cute
and they make like a cute hat
I was going to use them as a hat yeah
exactly so you can spend an entire
afternoon making these for your
classmates and i think they'd be pretty
impressed what do you think
yeah and then you know you can put them
in like a little ziploc bag so that they
stay all together and then just
put them in those paper bags and I think
we need to talk to your teacher and and
get a little bit more creative with the paper bags
do you at least get to decorate them
yeah we get to decorate them so we don't
get that long to decorate them
I'm definitely gonna have to talk to your
school teachers yeah maybe we'll have to do a
sophie world at your school
yes that's actually be awesome okay well
I'm gonna do this I'm gonna add some
wheels here and I'm going to let you
keep working you can share this with you
sister guess I should well
how about you make one for your sister or
actually we can give her this one
what you think okay she like this
yea or i can give her this one
that way you can keep this one since you
like the Lindors
yes and it's got the rolos on it
that you like so let's show them yours
the last thing I want to add some
laughy taffy for arms maybe you add
your laffy taffy and while you're doing that
I'm going to cut out one of these little
phrases and glue it to my ittle robot this one
says Valentine I'm nuts and bolts
about you i know i needed you to help
me come up with you would help me come
up with better ones than this right
now for more silly ideas for valentine's
day an more come and check us out at
sophie-world.com
oh those are good you can definitely
come up with a better one what do you
think
yeah i know i'm making another one

How to Make an Acrylic Led Edge Lit 3D Xmas Tree Lamp - Duration: 10:16.
Hi welcome to Techydiy. I'm Nigel and
today i'm going to make an acrylic
edge lit lamp using LEDs to light the sides.
The lamp consists of two cutouts that slot
together and then into a wooden base,
which also has a glowing acrylic layer.
So let's have a look at some of the parts.
First of all a six millimeter or
quarter-inch-thick clear acrylic sheet,
some square planed wood, 5 x blue leds
and 4 x white leds, 3 x 220 ohm resistors,
some wire, DC power connector and to cut
the acrylic sheet, I fitted a jigsaw with a
Bosch T101a blade, which is designed for
cutting polycarbonate and acrylic. For the links
to the plans, parts and tools have a look
in the video description or you can go
directly to the TECHYDIY.ORG website.
The design was created using google
sketchup, along with two templates, which
were printed out and glued to the
acrylic sheet as a cutting guide.
I used water-soluble glue, so that the
templates could be easily washed off
afterwards. Once the glue had
dried I cut along the lines with a
sharp knife, which marked the design directly
into the acrylic. The first section to be
cut was the slot; and to start that I
drilled a hole at the mark point on the
template, using first a center punch and
then a step drill take the finished hole
size up to six millimeters or quarter of
an inch. I then used the jigsaw to cut
along the lines of the template, using a length
of wood as a guide. The trick when you
cutting acrylic is to cut very slowly, in
short sections and avoid heating up the
material.
[Music]
When you edge light acrylic it highlights any
scratches or imperfections and as I had used
an old sheet, I needed to polish it; and so to
do that I ran a blowtorch along the
bottom edges to flame polish them, but I
left the sides unpolished, as this was
necessary for edge lighting. I then sanded the
faces with wet and dry sandpaper, using a
little water to create a paste, starting
with 240 grit and they're moving all the
way up to 3000 grit. To finish I used
plastic polish and a cotton polishing
mop.
Next I cut 2 square blocks of wood for
the base. I marked the centre on one of
the blocks and then set up the router
table fence, so that the router bit was centrally
positioned, in line with the center mark.
I also clamped a length of wood onto the
table to act as a guide. And I routed the
top face of the block, cutting across its
full width, before turning it 90 degrees to
cut again. The router bit is a six
millimeters or a quarter of an inch
straight bit, which is the same width as
the acrylic sheet.
For the bottom face of the block I didn't want
to route all the way across,
so I set up stop blocks.
To accommodate the power cable I removed
the stop blocks and routed a channel
through to one edge.
and I finished off the top edge with a
roundover bit. Next I drilled holes for the
leds, which are five millimeters in diameter.
I used a new five-millimeter brad point
drill bit which made it very easy
to locate and cut clean holes.
For the base center layer, I cut a square of
acrylic, using the same dimensions as the
wooden layers. This piece will be lit
by an LED, so I drilled an eight millimeter
hole in the center to accommodate it
using a step drill. To secure the three
pieces together, I drilled counter sunk holes
into the corners and screwed them together.
I sanded the sides flat and applied some
clear varnish. The next job was to solder
the LEDs together.
There are four white and four blue LEDs
pointing up, with which light up the tree
and another blue LED pointing down, which
lights up the base. The circuit diagram
looks like this, with three sets of three
leds in series with 220 ohm resistors.
All of the information about how this is
wired, along with a step-by-step guide
can be found on the TECHYDIY.ORG website.
To make the assembly easier, I drilled a
template into some scrap wood, following
the same pattern as the base.
[Music]
[Music]
Once the leds are soldered, I installed them
into the base, hot glued the power lead in
place and then screwed the base together.
Slotted the acrylic cut-outs together and
installed it into the base. So let's check
it out! Thanks for watching. Please don't
forget to Like, comment and subscribe and
I'll see you again next time

Making Art out of Spite - Duration: 5:57.
Hello invisible audience!
We are several weeks into this new year, and I don't put a lot of stock into New Year's
resolutions, but I do make them.
I tend to keep them really vague and sort of open ended and big picture kind of stuff
like "be nicer to yourself" because at the end of the year I can look back and be like,
"Was I nice to myself?
Yeah.
Alright, cool."
And one of my resolutions, and it's actually a resolution that I've recycled the past like,
few years because it's something that just sort of is nice, and generally positive, and
something that I can continue to strive for - is to make more art.
I'm not entirely sure what justifies "more art", but, it's nice a vague, and pretty easy
to accomplish.
And the fact that I keep recycling this resolution for the past few years has made me stop and
sort of look at it, and think about it, and think about what it means.
Why do I want to make more art?
Why do I want to make art in general?
What are my motivations for making art?
Do my motivations for making art have any bearing on the value of the art that I make?
You can probably see the sort of thought spiral that I get myself stuck in, and for most of
the questions that I ask, I don't really have an answer.
But for that last one, I do.
In my final quarter of university I needed one extra class in order to graduate, so I
figured, hey, I'll take something fun, do something different, something unusual, outside
of my usual wheelhouse - I said usual too many times.
Just gonna leave it.
And I found this sound art class.
And it SOUNDED... oh god.
I can't do it.
I can't do it.
Sound art was something that I had absolutely no experience in, and no idea, I had like,
no, just no basis for anything coming into the world of sound art, and I thought that
that would be interesting.
And at first, it was!
The professor was a really cool dude, and the classes were really interesting, and it
sort of made you think about sound and like, the role sound plays in art in a different
way, and it was really cool - but then the professor had to leave due to family emergency
reasons, and was replaced with, instead of a professor, an actual sound artist, who...
was much less cool...
[Laughs] He was much more focuses on the theory of sound art, and like, the history of it,
and like, the meaning behind it all, and that's, that was just so many readings that I did
not do.
So the class went downhill pretty steeply at that point, but we still got to make stuff.
Our final project was to create some kind of sound art piece of our own imagining, and
present it to the class.
And me, as a joke primarily, and also out of spite, created a project consisting entirely
of silence.
There was a little bit more to it than that - I went to a bunch of silent places, and
collected sound clips from those places and lined them up side by side so that you could
see the differences between the silences, and sort of calling attention to the fact
that like, silence isn't actually real, and there's always some kind of sound going on,
and silences in different places are actually going to sound different, and just blah, blah,
bluh, blah, it was very, very artsy, very lofty stuff.
Um, that I did not care about at all.
I was doing the project primarily as an excuse to be like, "hey, here's my final.
It's nothing."
The guy teaching absolutely loved it.
I got an A. But the thing is that project that I created, regardless of my motivations
for creating it primarily out of spite, um, was still art.
All the lofty explanations I was giving about what this project meant, and why it was doing
the things that it was doing, etc., etc., were still true.
So when I look at my resolution to make more art, and think about why it is that I want
to do this, it doesn't really matter.
My motivation for making things is going to vary depending on what I'm making.
And art doesn't have to be deep or serious, or lofty in order to be art.
Art that you've made doesn't even have to be seen by anyone, it can be just a notebook
that you keep by your bed and sometimes draw Phoenix Wright characters in and never show
to anyone ever...
As a completely fictional example, of course.
If you find some kind of joy in making something, or if you find some kind of satisfaction,
or you're doing it to be a part of a community, or to share an idea, or just because you really
like some character and you want to draw them a bunch.
If you just want to just talk to a camera for a while, like, whatever it is that you're
making, whatever purpose that it serves for you personally, whether it be because you
like the way something looks and you want to recreate it, or just our of spite, that
thing that you've created still exists.
Its been made real, it's something that you have brought into existence in this world.
Sometimes art does serve a purpose, and it is to express some kind of big idea, or something
important, but that doesn't mean that artwork that doesn't change your worldview in some
way isn't art.
And if all you're making in this world is crappy YouTube videos, and, as long as you
are getting some value out making that thing, it's worth it.
It doesn't have to be popular or well received.
You think I make these videos for you?
Trust me, if you liked these videos, I would know.
So whatever reason, or reasons more likely, it is that you want to make things, then that's
a good reason to make things.
So that's what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna make more art.
And I hope that you do too, invisible audience.
Even if your art is invisible, because you're invisible.
Hey!
If you want some tips on invisible art, sound art is an invisible art.
You can't see sound.
So, there's a good starting place for you.
If you're interested.
It can be interesting.
It can also be awful.
Ptchew, ptchew, ptchew!
As terrible as that class ended up being, I do highly recommend trying new things like
that because it was, whooa.
An experience and a half.
And it was the half that almost killed me.
Ho, buddy.
I heard some things.
Some... some things I never want to hear again.

How to Make Classic Tiramisu - for Valentine's Day - Duration: 4:16.
Hello Everyone, welcome to the uTry.it Channel. This is Amy Tong.
Today, I want to share with you one of my Family's favorite dessert, Tiramisù.
This is a classic Italian dessert.
And Tiramisù in italian means "Pick Me Up".
See how light and fluffy it is?
This is how this dessert got its name.
It's also packed with wonderful expresso and chocolate flavors, along with a hint of rum.
It's perfect for Valentine's Day celebration.
Let me show you how I make it.
First, place 1 1/4 cup of espresso in a shallow dish.
And 2 tablespoons of dark room. Then, set it aside.
In your stand mixer, add five large egg yolks, along with 2/3 of a cup of sugar, and 1/2 a teaspoon of kosher salt.
Beat the mixture with the paddle attachment until it becomes pale yellow.
Then add a 1/4 cup of coffee liqueur, along with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Next, we will need 16 ounces of mascarpone cheese.
Beat until the mixture is well combined.
You might need to stop the mixer and scrape the sides of the bowl when necessary.
When everything is well incorporated, transfer the mixture to a separate bowl.
Change the stand mixer attachment to a whisk.
Add 3/4 of a cup of heavy cream. Whisk until stiff peak forms.
Then, fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture in 2 batches.
Make sure to be gentle so you don't deflated too much of the air that you beat into the whipped cream.
Next, prepare a 9 by 13-inch glass baking dish.
And 46 crispy ladyfingers.
Make sure you get the crispy one and not the soft one.
Then, dip each of the ladyfinger into the espresso mixture for one quick second.
Make sure you don't dip it too long, otherwise your cake will turn soggy and not fluffy.
Line all the ladyfingers in the same direction.
Feel free to trim off some of the ladyfingers so they fit perfectly into the pan.
After you fill up the whole baking dish, pour half of the mascarpone mixture onto the ladyfingers.
Use a spatula to spread out the mascarpone mixture to cover the ladyfingers evenly.
Then, dust the top 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder.
Over the years of baking, I have tried many different brands of cocoa powder.
I'll list the link below this video for the favorite brand that I like to use.
Then we work on the second layer.
This time, I line the ladyfinger in the opposite direction from the first.
Then, pour the remaining half of the mascarpone mixture onto the ladyfingers.
Again, make sure all the lady fingers are covered.
Covered with a lid and refrigerate overnight.
When ready to serve, dust the top with more unsweetened cocoa powder.
Cut them into your desire serving size and they are ready to be served.
This is definitely the most decadent dessert!
Look at all those beautiful layers!
Since this is for Valentine's Day, I made these beautiful white chocolate hearts to decorate the top.
I have shared that video not long ago, so be sure to check out the link below this video.
I hope you enjoyed today's recipe and tutorial.

How to Make Ebelskivers--Danish Puff Pancakes (Dairy-Free) - Duration: 1:51.
Hey guys!
Today, we're making ebelskivers, which are delicious Danish pancake puffs.
Hopefully, I'm not saying it wrong, but I just love these things and my mom use to make
it when I was younger and I'm making it for you guys today.
Anyways, lets go bake it!
To make this recipe, you will need a special pan that looks like this.
You can buy this online or at kitchen stores.
The first thing you have to do is separate your egg whites from your egg yolks, but make
sure you don't throw anything out because you will need both of them for this recipe.
In a medium bowl, mix up your egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Lets go do it!
In another medium bowl, add your egg yolks, as well as the rest of the ingredients but
make sure everything is well mixed before you fold in the egg whites.
Place your pan on the stovetop and grease your pan with butter, margarine, or baking spray.
Either spoon or pour your batter into the pan.
Once the edges of the pancakes start to form, you can either use a skewer or a spoon to flip it over to
cook on the other side.
You can also add extra batter before you flip it over completely so you can have a more
full pancake.
Your ebelskivers are done when they are golden brown on both sides.
You can fill your ebelskivers with chocolate, jam, or any filling of your choice.

5 Ways To Make Caffeine More Effective l Nutrition Tips for Building Muscle & Loosing Fat - Duration: 5:46.
Get the most out of your daily caffeine intake by learning how and why caffeine works.
Once you know this, you'll know how to use it to achieve your major performance goals!
Nearly 80 percent of adults in the U.S. consume caffeine in one form or another every day.
For most of us, it's a way of life, how we get out of bed in the morning, or make it
through an afternoon workout.
But it does a lot more than just help overcome your brain's grogginess or deliver a blast
of energy.
Taken in the right amount and at the right time, caffeine can boost your performance
in the gym and may even help you recover faster!
Once you understand how and why your caffeine works, you can start strategizing to get the
most bang for your buck out of the ingredient.
Here are the top five things you should know about caffeine and how to use it more effectively!
Caffeine does more than just give you a jolt in your pre-workout; it can actually help
block specific receptors located throughout the body that are responsible for feelings
of fatigue.
This can translate into more reps, more sets, and overall greater training volume.
A 2012 study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research found that 180 milligrams
of caffeine consumed 60 minutes before a bout of resistance exercise resulted in significantly
more reps being completed in the bench press, deadlift, back squat, and row. The group
that supplemented with caffeine also experienced lower ratings of perceived exertion.
Caffeine has also been shown to improve maximal lower-body strength as well as sprint performance.
In order to maximize the antifatiguing benefits of caffeine, I would recommend being a little
more strategic with how often you take it.
The more habituated you are, the less likely you'll feel the effects of caffeine.
Try to save your pre-workout caffeine for days when you know you've got a grueling workout
ahead or you plan on doing some PR testing.
Morning-coffee drinkers know the best cure for morning grogginess is a shot (or two)
of caffeine.
That's because caffeine, also known as nature's stimulant, helps to dial down the amount of
neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin that can make you feel tired and drowsy.
The cognitive boost caffeine can deliver won't just help get you out of bed and off to work
in the morning, it can also help you stay focused during your workouts.
A review study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning found that caffeine
taken before strenuous training sessions helped to sustain exercise intensity and improved
concentration. This was especially true in those subjects who were lacking in hours of
shut-eye.
Caffeine intake can also lead to improvements in reaction time, potentially helping athletes
who participate in sports that require quick decision-making skills like soccer, football,
and baseball Too much caffeine can actually have the opposite
effect on you, so the best way to experience optimal effects is to take roughly 300 milligrams
up to 60 minutes before your workout.
It's also best to time your caffeine intake when you most need it, either first thing
in the morning or before a workout.
Here's something I'll bet you didn't know: Caffeine taken pre-workout can help reduce
the all-too-common DOMS (delayed-onset muscle soreness) that accompanies a grueling workout.
A 2013 study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning found that those who supplemented
with caffeine before their workout reported significantly lower levels of soreness compared
to a placebo, even though they were able to complete more repetitions during their lifting
session. It's believed that caffeine can reduce the
activity of adenosine—a substance in the body associated with fatigue that's increased
during injury or heavy exercise.
Decreasing the perception of pain and soreness in the days that follow a strenuous resistance-training
workout may allow you to increase the number of training sessions per week and, over time,
could lead to greater muscular growth.
It's well-established that consuming caffeine pre-workout can improve performance, but caffeine
following your training session can actually help your muscles refuel at a faster rate.
Research published in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that subjects who consumed
caffeine with their post-workout carbs had significantly higher rates of glycogen resynthesis
compared to the carb-only group. In fact, the carb-plus-caffeine group had 66 percent
more muscle glycogen than the carb-only group.
That's 66 percent more fuel in the tank during your next workout!
Although scientists are not 100 percent certain how caffeine increases glycogen resynthesis,
higher glucose and insulin levels, as well as an increase in the activity of several
signaling enzymes responsible for glucose transport, are likely to be factors.
Numerous studies have demonstrated caffeine's ability to enhance fat oxidation (your body's
ability to break down stored fat into usable energy) during exercise. Caffeine stimulates
the nervous system and increases levels of the hormone epinephrine, both of which can
signal your body to break down fat.
While this alone won't cause significant fat loss, combining caffeine with proper nutrition
and a well-rounded fitness program may help you shed a few extra pounds and improve your
body composition.
Caffeine has also been shown to increase resting energy expenditure (or the amount of calories
you burn at rest) for up to three hours post-ingestion. This doesn't give you the green light to go
hog-wild at an all-you-can-eat buffet , but an extra 200-300 calories burned each day
could lead to noticeable weight loss over time.
So what's the best way to take in your caffeine to reap all of the benefits it has to offer?
Current recommendations state that for performance benefits, trained individuals should consume
1-2 milligrams per pound of body weight 30-60 minutes prior to exercise, never exceeding
more than 400 milligrams per day. Because each person responds a little differently
to caffeine, start on the lower end and gradually increase your dosage from there.
Just be warned that too much caffeine can leave you feeling nauseated, coping with a
stomachache, or suffering from the caffeine jitters.
You can build up a tolerance to caffeine, so it's best to cycle on and off every 4-6
weeks, or look for a product that also contains TeaCrine®, the patented form of theacrine.
Studies suggest that TeaCrine® acts in a similar manner as caffeine, but is non-habit-forming
and can even reduce the habituation to caffeine when used in combination.
Furthermore, coffee may work well enough to get you out of bed in the morning, but if
you're looking to take your workouts to the next level, stick with pure forms of caffeine
like caffeine anhydrous, and avoid sugary energy drinks.
Did you know about all those benefits, coffee can give you?
Or do you have any benefits that we didn't know about?
Please share them below and until I see you next time.
