Physical Health - Living an INSPIRED life with Doc Nuzum | INSPIRED Health Formula - Duration: 5:48.Jonathan Hunsaker: What if there was a kind of stress that was actually good for you in
small doses?
Stay tuned to find out.
Jonathan Hunsaker here with Organixx.
Thanks again for tuning in.
We're continuing our series on INSPIRED: The 8 Pillars of Health.
Today, we're focused on the letter P: Physical Exercise.
And what is physical exercise?
Well, in a lot of ways, it's stress.
It's just managed stress on our body.
We're doing it in small doses where we're managing the amount of stress, which is actually
really healthy for us.
See, the problem is, most of us, we're stressed out all day long every day, and that's damaging
on our body, but physical exercise, not only does it help with the bad crazy stress, but
it allows our body to learn how to deal with stress better because we're stressing it
on purpose a little bit at a time, a little bit at a time.
And so, ultimately, it helps us be healthier, and it helps us in the amount of stress that
we can actually handle in our day-to-day lives.
Let's go talk to Doc Nuzum.
He'll tell us a lot more about it.
Dr. Daniel Nuzum: Well, today, we're talking about physical exercise.
I've been exercising since I was 5 years old.
I started into Wing Chun Kung Fu.
My dad actually made me a little barbell with two little 5-pound weights on it, and I did
my exercises with that barbell.
He set up a little routine for me to do.
I did that every day.
I started out when I was 5 years old, I've been exercising for almost all my life now.
I love exercise.
The thing is, though, our society is set in such a way that we don't really get a lot
of physical exercise.
We have machines to do stuff now.
What has suffered in our society is that our physical conditioning has gotten worse and
worse and worse.
And we're progressively getting more and more out of shape, or out of condition is,
in my opinion, a better term.
If you're in good shape, your body's in good condition.
It's conditioned to function healthy.
One of the things about exercise that is so important for our health isn't just our
conditioning, it's the fact that exercise is one of the few stresses that we can dose.
You can do a little bit of exercise here, a little more here, a little more there, depending
on your capacity to adapt to that exercise.
All fitness, exercise like weightlifting, or even bodybuilding, fitness folks, they
use exercise as a way to cause their body to adapt.
And as you cause your body to adapt with exercise, you increase your body's capacity to do
things.
You improve your condition by using that little bit of stress, the exercise is a stress that
you dose, you can use exercise to stress your system to a point that it forces your body
to adapt, and as it adapts, it gets stronger and it increases your capacity to do things.
That's the wonderful thing about exercise.
When you become more fit, your body handles physical stress, or physical work, better,
but it also handles emotional stress better, or job-related stress better, or other types
of stress.
As your fitness level increases, and your normal stresses stay the same, because your
capacity is greater, this stress that you would normally have on a daily basis isn't
so taxing on your system.
Let's say someone can lift 30 pounds, like this.
If, on a daily basis, they have to lift 20 pounds in the same motion, multiple times
throughout the day, because 20 pounds is so close to 30 pounds, that repetitive movement
of 20 pounds all day long could tear up their joints.
Now if that person starts to exercise and they increase their capacity from 30 pounds
to 50 pounds, now instead of being 2/3 their capacity, and they still have to do the 20
pounds every day all day long, they're only lifting 20 percent of their capacity, so it's
not as taxing on those joints and on those muscles.
So, as your fitness level increases, your conditioning improves, your ability to handle
everyday stress also improves.
Initially, it takes a lot of energy to get in shape.
Once you get there, it doesn't take as much energy or effort to maintain that, number one.
Number two, it increases your capacity.
So, your capacity, your energy levels, improve as you get more fit.
And what you have to do on a daily basis doesn't stress you or tax you as much as it would
normally tax you.
So, I hope that helps you understand the importance of physical exercise.
Jonathan Hunsaker: Thanks, Doc, and thank you guys at home for watching.
I thank you for your feedback.

Bookish Life Update // meeting holly black + a cute bookshop - Duration: 17:06.Oh spoilers! I think this book's been out like over ten years so you know what, if
you haven't read it and this is a spoiler I am sorry.
Hello humans, so I'm well aware that I look a little bit like a bag of rags but I've
been having a life admin day and I've just been hoovering my car so... this is
what I look like. It was much in need of a good clean and...
I mean, you could say this top was white before I started because the layers of
dust in my car were almost impenetrable. I've not had a lot of time in the last six
months to really give my car proper clean but I actually like practically
live in my car so yeah it was pretty grim in there and I was finally shamed
into doing it because I gave two of the lads a lift in the middle of rehearsal
last week to go to Tesco and I was rather ashamed that they saw my
unhoovered car in all its glory.
Is that the grimmest thing you've ever seen or what?
Those are little shredded rose petals from REGALROSE that fell out of
a package that I opened in the car so I'm not as grim as it looks
honestly.
Oh hello!
Yes lads!
Best part of cleaning your car out? Finding all that random stuff you thought you lost.
I don't know when I lost mini Jaeger to the side door but don't think I'm gonna
get much use of that in the car. Yeah and also I've got two pens
and at least five kirby grips just bobbing around. But I haven't even done
the driver's side yet so there's probably about a thousand more to be
found of those. One and a half quid! Yes lads.
Buy myself a shandy with that! I don't even like sparkling water so don't even know what
that's doing there.
Someone sneaked out... Go on, back inside missus! Come on Jembelina, back inside.
Fresh as a daisy
and ready to start our little theatre tour so that's good. Oh yeah because
the reason that I've been so busy is because we've been rehearsing for a new
community theatre production of Treasure Island
so that vlog is still to come. Today I just wanted to do a little kind of
bookish... life.... update... thing because my channel was being neglected because I've
been so busy and I just wanted to try and do a little book-buying ban update
general book update thing. I don't know, I'm just gonna talk at you for
a bit. I'm gonna try and do this without as many jump cuts as possible which
you'll already be able to tell has been a failure but that's where we're at so.
Beginning of this year I did extremely well with my book buying ban. I didn't
buy anything new. I got stuck in to some books that I've wanted to read for a
while and ones that I was really keen to read so it was kind of an easy... easy-in
thing that I did there. I read two Holly Black books one of which was The Cruel
Prince, then I went to Waterstones to see a book talk with Holly Black... I actually
got to chat to Simon Savidge of SavidgeReads for like a few minutes at the end
because he was the one hosting it so that was pretty cool because I watch
all his YouTube videos. I have no idea what we talked about now but I probably
just rambled about some nonsense... so yeah. And also I got a dorky picture with
Holly Black because there was a lady there from Waterstones ready to take
pictures for everyone so I wasn't quite prepared for that but erm... I also just
kind of blabbed to Holly Black about how I loved her
books as a teenager and I loved the fact that she did like the dark
faerie thing... Yeah so this anecdote actually contains a spoiler so if you
want to skip it, just skip ahead by about 40 seconds maybe and yeah we'll get
there... So yeah I said how I always remembered the the bit in Tithe where
Janet gets drowned because I always thought that was you know revolutionary
in a YA book to kill off one of the like protagonist's friends really quite
sort of brutally and she said that it was her mum that actually killed Janet
off like, she said so her mum was reading the draft of Tithe and she was like "Mmm
someone's gotta die" so she always thinks of it like her mum killed Janet.
Which I think's pretty entertaining - make of that what you will.
I managed really well I was in Waterstones surrounded by books, didn't buy a
thing, I already had The Cruel Princes so it was all good. She signed my books, it was
beautiful, so yeah done really well... I did really well up until the end of March
and then me and my mama mermaid went to Buxton for a weekend and we stumbled
across this kind of book binding shop called Scrivener's Book Binding I think
- if that's wrong I'll correct myself in a subtitle - and it was the cutest little
kind of vintage-y antique-y book sh...I went to say "bookshore" because I was
tryna mix bookstore and bookshop... whew, collect yourself! Okay so it was like
this cool vintage-y antique-y bookshop and just nestled away in kind of
slightly outside of the town centre of Buxton and we walked past it when we
were walking from the Premier Inn to the town centre so obviously we had to go in.
But before we went in my lovely mama mermaid said to me "You
do know that you're gonna have to buy a book if we go in here so it's up to you."
I was like "Well..." because the reason is of course that she thinks it's incredibly
rude to go into like an independent bookstore and not buy anything so I was
like "Okay it's fine I can commit and I'll buy something, even it's just like a
children's book or something like a postcard, who knows" so we went in and
it's amazing. It's got like handmade book binding happening in the sort of
ground floor corner and then there's five floors of books. All different
genres on different floors, there's giant sections for drama and plays. There's
sections for musical scores... children's section... fairy tale section... you get it!
Shakespeare section... so obviously I was in my element. So I was looking around
knowing that I would definitely be buying at least one book and the first
book that I found that I wanted was this which is Samik The Bear Cub which is a
folktale from Canada it literally says "a folktale from Canada" here and I
obviously picked it because it's a fairy tale and also it's got a bear in it
because bears obviously. So yeah this was nice because I hadn't actually -
I wasn't familiar with this story before but it makes a nice addition to my fairy
tale collection so that was my first weakness and my mum read it and she
actually found the story of the author's childhood, being evacuated from
Czechoslovakia really interesting as well! It was in the bio in the back and
she was like "I had to google this woman and find out more about what happened"
and she said it gave the story new meaning because there's like a woman
living on her own and feeling lonely and she said she sort of felt like the
themes from the author's life were sort of woven into the story so that's quite
magical and nice. I was just gonna buy that one and then I
stumbled upon this bad boy which is just your standard Greek mythology sort of
picture book. But it's the exact picture book that I used to get out of the
library when I was young and it is the book that awakened my love for Greek
mythology so I couldn't really leave it there in fact I probably wouldn't have
been able to find this if I'd have wanted to. If I just tried to find it on
Google I wouldn't know where to start because I wouldn't know who the author
was or even I probably wouldn't have recognized the cover as a picture form...
but as soon as I saw this I was like "Oh my god this is the book!!!" and sure
enough it's basically an alphabetised kind of list of all the
Greek mythical figures so it mentions parts of their story wherever they're
mentioned but then anyone else who's in their story will kind of be like
highlighted so I've just - Artemis just caught my eye there (my alias)
so whenever the gods and goddesses feature in the stories of the mortals
- so here we're talking about Clytemnestra and about Artemis asking them to
sacrifice Iphigenia I think - it sort of highlights them in a
convenient way and then there's like an index at the back so you can flip
through and see every mention of each character. So I loved this when I was
little and I read it from back to front about 10 million times and it also
features some of the artwork that became my favorite, you know, pictures and
portraits one of which is actually in the Walker
Art Gallery in Liverpool let me see if I can find it. It's Narcissus and Echo...
N comes before P, good little literacy lesson for you there... there it is yeah so I loved this picture and I never knew it
was in the Walker Art Gallery obviously I was like I don't know maybe was like
12 or 13 or whatever and so the first time I went into the Walker Art Gallery when
I was a bit older I... lost my head a bit because
I got overexcited about this. You can also - I think you can see that in my very
first vlog when I took Lucy into Liverpool I kind of raved about this
painting. So yeah that's just a nice little anecdote that probably nobody
cares about. I've rambled about this book now for a while! So yeah these are my two
failings in March because I had to, I had to buy something and then this one - you
know - the memories! So what can you do? But, that said I think that's okay because I
have already read this one a lot so that's not going to distract me - well
maybe on the coffee table it will - and this obviously didn't take five minutes to read.
So yeah I thought I was home safe and I
thought I was you know steering clear of books again for a while - well, sorry,
steering clear of NEW books again for a while and getting stuck into my stuff. I
have started the Romanovs which is proving heavier than I even thought
and it's - it's not there sorry I'm just looking for it - it's upstairs... I knew it was gonna be a
long book but boy oh boy that writing is tiny the typeface is very small and it's
taking me like an hour to get through like ten pages so that's probably gonna
take me a longer time. I am enjoying it it's really interesting and it's really
well written for a nonfiction book but
[whispers] its gonna take me a while...
So yeah I have started that I got through quite a few books early on that were
like easier to read. I read The Muse by Jessie Burton. I enjoyed it but not as
much as The Miniaturist I think The Miniaturist kind of raised the stakes too
high there. It's still still definitely worth a read but it's not a book that
I'm gonna keep. I think I'm gonna just pass that on to the charity shop because
I guess with most mystery type stories anyway though you kind of probably don't
reread them unless they're really really...
I don't know... unless you're really into it? Because you sort of know what happens
at the end...? But yeah no it was really interesting and it was set in Spain and
stuff so that was cool. And then the other thing is Neve has got
me reading a borrowed book. She's doing Hedda Gabler in college and she wanted
me to read it because she thought I would like that character so I'm reading
the Four Ibsen Plays thing and so far I do I am a big fan of Hedda Gabler like
she is... such a snake. And that is just a brilliant... brilliant female character in
my book. She's like Cersei Lannister isn't she? I
thought it was good so I was home free because obviously borrowing books
doesn't count because it doesn't affect my bank balance although I'm gonna try
and not do that... I am gonna have to read The Bone Season at some point because if
I don't Neve is gonna go spare because she's wanting me to read it for ages and I
must admit I do like Samantha Shannon's Twitter feed so I imagine I'm
gonna probably be on board with it. Which brings me to my second break of my book-buying ban.
I was at a belly dance event performing last Friday and it was for charity. I did
a choreography that I last did last year and there's a lot of sustained spinning in
it so I might just put myself spinning around for the next 30 seconds while I
talk cos.. why not that'll be fun. Yeah so I stumbled upon the organiser had this
like stack of books that she was trying to sell off just to add to the
charitable donations of the night and she just said "just give me a couple
of quid for whatever you want" so I was like I want this bad boy and she said "oh
just give me a couple of quid" so I gave her six pounds and she was like oh well
if you're gonna give me six pounds, why not just take all of the goth books
that I own so I was like "Can't really argue with that" so yeah I now have a full
goth library and I'm pretty jazzed about it. And it was for a good cause so I
think I can have that as an excuse right? My excuses are good right? Like, one-off
book shop that I'm not gonna probably go to again at least in the next year and
then charity. Yes so that's how I'm doing but I have embarked on one of the longer
books that I want to go for and as soon as I've got The Romanovs and Hedda
Gabler finished I am going to start War and Peace because I have a feeling that
one's gonna take me quite a while and I am still obsessed with The Great Comet
and I don't want my enthusiasm to wane before I start so I need to I
need to get on it like right now, like right now. So in fact I might I might try
and read it concurrently with The Romanovs because like it's... one's fiction
and one's nonfiction and I can usually do both at the same time if it's that
because you can kind of separate it in your mind. So yeah that's how I'm doing!
Hopefully I won't have to do too many jump cuts in this and I hope I'm not
talking - I've not been talking too fast and I hope I haven't gone on over the 20
minute limit on my camera because otherwise I'm gonna have to refilm
that last section. Yeah, how are you doing? Let me know!
Erm, what else did I wanna talk about,
anything else?

At Home Spa Style Pedicure for Toes & Feet/mature women over 50 - Duration: 24:31.Hey awesome ones. So it's time for us to work on our toes and our feet and let's
not make it a chore. I'm ready for some pampering some TLC so I'm going to show
you a way to work on your toes and your feet especially for those beautiful
sandals and flip-flops and we're gonna make a little bit of a spa date out of it
So have you ever had a pedicure? I can tell you that it's a wonderful pampering
luxurious time and it really is. It's something that really puts you in a
great state of mind. So that's what I want to do with this video. So let's set
it up shall we first of all I'm in a comfy robe.
Secondly quiet time, your time, don't don't give yourself like 10 minutes. I
got to do my toes, no.... you need to set the time aside a nice comfy chair a couple
of towels and maybe even some herbal tea or you could also go for that water with
cucumbers in it or something like that hey maybe even a glass of wine it's up
to you also a little magazine, you know one of those ones that you haven't read
yet but always meaning to get to it you haven't read it yet and let's cue some
spa music.....there you go, we're ready for the feet. So let's get real about talking
about our toes hey I don't have polished toes twelve months out of the year.... no
way I live in a cold climate in the wintertime and I'm gonna tell you, those
little tootsie's of mine our snug as a bug in a rug in my socks and actually I
don't even put polish on them during the winter months or even maybe late
December or late November, because I kind of like my little toenails to breathe
and I don't think it's a good idea to have polish on them all the time and I
even did a video about nails like these fingernails and I also said about making
them and letting them breathe a little bit as well. So I'll put that up there as
well. Now of course I'm going to clip my
toenails and all that sort of thing during the let's call it the hibernation
time for my toes, but hey they're coming out of hibernation right now and
I just went to the dollar store. I bought this
little bucket, certainly I don't want to serve a salad in it afterwards, so it's
kind of like my little foot bucket and I put some warm water in there and I'm
just letting my little toes....if you can see them they're....letting them soak a
little bit and yeah now you can put some epsom salts if you want to, but for me
I've just got some warm water and what I'm going to do right now is I'm going
to get to that magazine.... hey this is so appropriate isn't it. I'm gonna get to
this magazine and read an article or two maybe for five minutes and then
we'll get back to work on those little toes. Okay so now I want to give my feet
a little bit of a exfoliant....a little bit of a scrub and I'm actually using here
it's a face scrub but I don't know about you....my my toes and my feet are pretty
sensitive so I'm going to use this face scrub. What I like about this one -
its sulfate free and it's paraben free it doesn't....it's got all natural
ingredients as well....so let's just put a little bit of that on my hands here. Oh
see I sort of tell what it looks like there and over by my tea I've been sipping
my tea....it's been lovely....this is lovely and what i'm going to do is i'm going to
show you this foot here because you can really see, you know wearing shoes and
that i've got some some dead skin. I know it's gross but you know so we want to
kind of exfoliate and so just give ourselves a really nice little
exfoliation here and it helps of course if you've got the water and also move up
the calf a little bit and there you go, that feels nice really nice you get that
dead skin off. I'm wearing a new pair of shoes right now and it's kind of wearing
on my ankles there but oh the things we do to
look pretty.....alright so I'm just gonna scrub this these feet again give it a
good scrub up the the calves a little bit and yeah. Just rub my hands off here
because I want to talk to you again a little bit mmm......
Now if you're ticklish I'm sorry I'm not all that ticklish on my feet, so I
can certainly do this no problem, but it is a face scrub and I have used this
sort of thing before, so if you can't stand it and you're going crazy yes you
can absolutely skip.....that skip that step try to say that three times skip that
step and move on to the next part and what I'm going to do right now I'm just
going to get some clean warm water .Wash off all of the scrub and dry my feet off.
So now that my feet are all nice and dry this would be a good time to put on the
cuticle oil. Now this cuticle oil....it has its nail and cuticle oil and it's
enriched with vitamin E so yeah I'm gonna put that on my feet well my toes
anyway and by the way in the first comment of this video I'm going to have
a link back to my blog where I will show a lot of the products that I'm using
here so you can get them for yourself and hey by the way if you do get
something there we make a tiny bit of commission and it all helps us with our
videos so thank you very much if you're one of the people that are doing it and
we really really appreciate it so let's get on with the cuticles. So this comes
with a little applicator and it's real simple
I just kind of put this around the cuticles and don't worry I'll be doing
some trimming of my....well there's that little by little baby toe hides, is your
little baby toe hide - yeah I'll be trimming my toes a little bit better but
you can see there's kind rough skin here on the cuticles because
they've been under wraps during the winter months and we'll just put a
little bit I gotta go find that little toe again....always hides here here we go
yeah a little more these guys need their little cuticles
done. All right so put that back in there, now I get
another 5 minutes or so so I'm gonna sip my tea. I'm going to read my magazine
remember it's all about you today take that time and relax I'm going to. So
that's been about five seven minutes something like that so let's get back to
the toes and they'll....sorry I'm moving around a lot I know, but what we need to
do is just push back those cuticles. I'm not going to do them all, but I use a
little cuticle thingy like this and what I like to do is I like to first of all
push them all back and then go back and do them again. So in real time what I
would do is I would go back to those toes again push them back with this
little baby that I have here and there's a close-up of what it is and again you
can get this in wood as well and take all of the dead skin push it back and
also use a tissue. What I want to do is I want to clean up as much of that oil as
I can. Okay so it's buffing time and I found this great buffer, it's rough on
the one side and it's shiny on the other for the buffing but when I did the
natural manicure with no nail polish some people had commented, you know I just
gotta tell you guys, you subscribers and I just love the community so much
because you help me, you help others and a few of you said to me... hey be
really careful with that rough part of the buffer because you could
literally buff your nail right down so thank you so much for that and for all
of you, you know who you are, you are so special to Bill and I and little
Hurricane, so thank you for everything. All those comments I just love ... anyway
back to the toes, as far as my toes are concerned I think I was a bad girl I
think I did the summertime nail polish and I didn't actually buff when I
took off my nail polish off for the last time so you can see a little bit of
discoloration here and I've got some paper towel underneath. There we're just
gonna buff... see a little bit of that discoloration right off there and then
what I'm going to do...if I can reach that, just wipe it off with a tissue and
then I'm going to do this little buff.
This is good for, uh so yeah it's nice, that's looking ...now yeah buff small up so
we're gonna do that to all of them and just give them all a little bit of TLC a
little bit of buffing take all that yucky old, whatever it is off of there
Alright so as I mentioned to you usually during the winter I am clipping my nails
and I have this great clipper, here it is an actual toenail clipper with a little
little gizmo for cleaning as well and I absolutely love that. So my my nails are
pretty clipped but what I do have to do is I do have to file them and shape them
a little bit cuz they're gonna be out there and people are going to see them
so I've got a couple of files here that I can show you that I use also some of
you of our great subscribers again have mentioned that they use like a
crystal nail polish or sorry, not nail polish but nail file, so hmm sounds like
it lasts forever so there's a great find for you as well so I'm going to use this
little baby here and which one should I use I guess I just use this one here and
as you can see that my my nails have been clipped but I'm just going to, you
know just sort of shape them a little bit. Now don't go like this because that
gives you maybe hang nails, that sort of thing we don't want that but just sort
of go in one direction and then go in another direction now another thing that
I have been sort of watching is a lot of people want to just do this straight
across kind of thing and that's not my style, however I have heard that the
style that I do which is the kind of rounded look some people get, I guess
ingrown toenails and that sort of thing so it is your choice. I've been doing
this rounded look now for well a half a century and longer and I haven't found
any problems like that but you know just be careful in that respect and again
just make sure when you're sanding you have you know a good long nail file and
you're keeping it all in the one direction okay so these are shaping up
quite nicely and oh by the way... I've got paper towels underneath me to catch all
the all the fallout. Okay so I don't suffer from the cracked ankle thing
maybe it's because I really like to moisturize my feet a lot but anyway
there are these gadgets you know with some emery board stuff on them and
they are for, you know your cracked ankles, now again I have paper towels
underneath what you do is you just kind of well I actually do have some dead
skin there and you just sort of use this and take
off that dead skin so I'm going to do a little bit of that and I don't want to
touch this guy here because you know what that's let's just do that hard part
of the skin you know what I'm talking about can you say that, okay, yeah so this
little gizmo is great for that but before I did this video I went to the
drugstore and I really studied all the foot products that they had and they had
some great things for cracked ankles and the pictures of these
cracked ankles were pretty bad so oh and by the way I love going to the drugstore
and checking out some new things and I actually did, I think it was my top ten
drugstore finds so I'll put that up there while we're on the subjects of doing a
little bit of shopping I think most of them were under $10 but back to the
cracked heels. So they have creams they have lotions and they even have these
little socks and what you do is you put the cream of the lotion on and then you
put on these little socks and I guess you just put your feet up for a couple
of hours or they even said you can sleep with them and have them on overnight and
night I think you wake up there poof you don't have cracked ankles anymore at
least I think that's what happens . Alright so time to put on the foot lotion
I'm just using a body lotion here and I found this lovely cocoa butter enriched
with vitamin E so hey if we're going to have fun in the Sun a little cocoa
butter sounds like it's going to just do the trick for me, Yes you can buy some
special foot creams and some of them are peppermint and they smell delicious but
for me I'm just gonna do this and really kind of go up the calves a little bit as
well, hey it's pampering time why not? Again I've got up some paper towels here
as well and just really, really get in there and pamper those little feet with
the cream, so what we've got to do now is
to use a little bit of nail polish remover because soon we're going to be
applying the nail polish and that body lotion meant we just out put on
it's going to be a little bit oily so we're just going to go ahead and do all
the toes with a little bit of, oh well... Oh
make sure the stuff ...number one that if you have nail polish on right away you
will make sure that you are very, very careful removing... anyway to be continued..
Alright so now the fun part starts its nail polish picking time, every year
before I do my toes I go to the drugstore again and I really try to pick
up something super cool, hey you know what this you don't necessarily just
have to be on the safe side with this I've done years where I've used a
beautiful blue like this I've also used a beautiful purple, isn't that gorgeous
last year a lot of people were into these kind of almost fluorescent colors
and I used these on my toes last year, absolutely love them and I mean yes you
can be, you know get something that's kind of you know run-of-the-mill for
your toes but I just think it's so exciting to look down at your little
toes and it's something a little bit wild, a little bit different and this
year I'm going, because pink is all the color and if you did see my spring,,
summer fashion... I'll put it up there somewhere I really talked about being
pretty in pink so this is going to be going a lot with the wardrobe I'm using
but it's a little bit on the wild side and it's also a gel so I found myself a
gel you put this on and there's a topcoat with it the nice thing about
this is it removes with just your normal nail polish remover
you don't need to have a special lamp for it so this year I'm going with this
So just before I apply the first coat of nail polish I just use little cotton
batten cotton balls between my toes to separate them, hey and by the way this
could be a lot of fun if you're maybe with girlfriends you know having a bit
of a spa day or you know maybe you're a husband a wife enjoying this
kind of thing or with your daughters, it's lots of fun. The one thing just
before I get into the toenail polish though is really take a look good look
at your toes like if there's yucky fungus or something like that
how'd it looked at, have it taken care of don't just cover it up with a lot of
nail polish. Okay we want to keep you healthy out there, all right let's go
with this nail polish now be very, very careful when you start with a nail
polish you really want to take a lot of it off and there you go my toes are
ready here I'm just going to start off, this is hard to do when somebody's
watching you on camera but I'm just going to start off in the middle let me
just put that down you can see my toes are all nicely separated here and
there's not a lot on the brush and then I'm just going to carefully try to go
around that
and up now we're going to put another coat on so we don't really need to worry
too much about, oh well that's not a perfect coat okay and then just continue
on a little bit again to get a lot of it off put it in the middle first and then
turn it and around, around fix it up nicely later but you can see how this
separation - with the cotton swabs, oh there's that little baby toe that I
couldn't even see before but now it just allows it to poke its little head out
and get pretty like all the rest of them, alright I'll just continue the rest and
then I'll be back right at you Alright so hey the first coat isn't
perfect but I'm just gonna let those babies dry for probably about ten
minutes because this is gel and the nice thing about the gel by the way is that
they don't crack and peel and chip off like a normal nail polish would, they're
happy feet so the first coat is all dry now we've got to be really, really
careful doing the second coat so just sort of bring this foot up here a little
bit again take your time because this gel is going to last for awhile and we
just want to make sure that it's really pretty
Anyway I'm not gonna do them all right now but I I will take my time and then
we're ready for the topcoat now. I called it top coat but actually it's a sealant
and don't worry it's not black in color but this I don't know if you can see this here
but it says step one and this one says sealant step two so you've got to use
them together and it actually just looks it really does look just look like a
clear topcoat but because this is a gel it's probably going to really seal
in that color so let's take a look here as I did this toe here as I apply again
down the middle first as I apply the sealant and hey you know you might say...
oh you know I could do a lot better than with my toes, hey I'm no professional I'm
just, you know one of those people who say hey try this at home you know go
ahead and pamper yourself for the day and maybe you ju, you know you're on a
budget and you don't want to be going and getting the pedicures all the time
so by all means you know make a day out of it make an afternoon out of it and
enjoy yourself because you know what?... you deserve it so that's starting to look
really pretty, pretty in pink so I'm ready for the close-up and I put
on a pair of sandals to show you. I don't know I just think that these look these
little toes look absolutely lovely and yep flip-flops, nice sandals they're
gonna get me through and I'll just touch them up every once in a while
Of course there'll be days where I'll have to take off everything and then
reapply but what do you think? I love this color for this season
so somebody else who has to get his little toenails done is you little
Hurricane! Yes you do, he's got the tiniest little toenails but
he's got four legs so he's got like 20 toenails but we take you to the groomer,
take you to the groomer and they take care of all of that and it's a very
important thing also for dogs that they get their toenails cliped, so Hurricane

Style and Image Disruptor Cheryl Lampard Speaker Greeting - Duration: 1:31.I'm the L in GLW Talk Across.
Hi!
I'm Cheryl Lampard and I'm going to help you create a personalized image direction.
Your personal appearance is a direct reflection of your brand if you will.
Your company's brand, who you are, and it says an awful lot about you before you even
open your mouth.
so, this isn't about high-fashion.
This isn't about labels.
far from it, this is about creating the image that's right for you to convey the message
that you want to convey.
It's long been known that our personal appearance and how we're perceived by others is a major
factor in whether we engage people, whether we even secure that next job interview or
whether we secure somebody's trust.
In short, our appearance says a lot more about us in a short space of time than the words
that we say, do.
so, it's vital to make them count. and often, it's about the detail.
In my presentation, I'll show you how to make those things count.
This is Cheryl Lampard GLW Talk Across and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Scientists keeping pig brains 'alive' Frankenstein-style inside severed heads - Duration: 2:43.Scientists keeping pig brains 'alive' Frankenstein-style inside severed heads
Scientists have been able to bring the brains of dead pigs back to life placing the severed heads of the animals inside an abattoir.
While there has been no evidence that the brains regained consciousness, the researchers were able to restore circulation with a system of pumps, heaters and artificial body-temperature blood.
A team led by Yale University neuroscientist Nenad Sestan has worked on between 100 and 200 pig heads that they obtained from a slaughterhouse. They found that billions of individual cells in the dead brains were healthy and capable of normal activity.
(Image: AFP) According to the MIT Technology Review , he explained the finding to the audience at a meeting at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Maryland, US as mind-boggling.
However, when pressed for further comment, Sestan said that he had not intended for his remarks to become public.
"These brains may be damaged, but if the cells are alive, it's a living organ," said Steve Hyman, director of psychiatric research at the Broad Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts, who was someone briefed on the work.
"It's at the extreme of technical know-how, but not that different from preserving a kidney," he told Technology Review. (Image: PA) The science involves restoring the flow of oxygen to small blood vessels buried deep in the brain.
Theoretically, it also challenges the notion of death and could have huge repercussions for those with brain injuries. However, transplanting a brain into a new body isnt going to be happening any time soon.
But the ongoing research could spread beyond pigs. Speaking to the NIH, Sestan acknowledged that the technique was not unique to pigs and would probably work on primates.

[SK] Oh ok.
Don't move.
[SK] He is at the bridge.
[SK] Because you do
Na, here's a rig *promoting diy rig*
[SK] THERE *laughs*

[YK] Next time I should take out my specs when video log

with specs on, it feels like someone is strangling me
it's not freedom
[Mel] 3 minutes until train arrives
[Mel] Time passes by so fast
the interview was like 20 minutes

A Day In the Life of a Working, Commuting Mom - Duration: 10:52.(Upbeat Dance Music)
- It is 5:30 in the morning, my
husband just left for work, he is on labor deck
this week so, he has to be at morning rounds by
6, so he usually gets up about 4:30, when he leaves I usually get up.
I just checked the monitor and it looks like Claire is already awake
So, she's not making any noise though so I'm going to try to jump into the shower
and take a quick shower before she starts crying
Alright, so, makeup is done.
I've learned how to do my makeup in under fifteen seconds so, yeah.
So, Claire might have gone back to sleep, so I might have time to actually blow dry my hair.
(Happy Upbeat Music)
So, just a plain black dress. I am six months post-partum and
hardly ever work out because I don't have time so you can see from the side, I still look pregnant.
I literally have two pairs of Spanx on.
Coffee is made, if anyone asks, I am using Keto Coffee.
I promised my friend that I would try this like several days ago and I didn't do it, so I'm going to do it this morning.
So my coffee is made...messy room.
Claire is still asleep so I'm actually going to have to go wake her up because
it is 6:50 and mama needs to go.
(Sigh) I need this book for work.
Alexa, what's the weather?
- In Lancaster, there is a flash flood watch in effect until Thursday, April 5, 11 a.m.
The current weather is 25 degrees Fahrenheit with partly cloudy skies.
Today, you can look for lots of clouds with the high of 34 degrees and a low of 25 degrees.
- So basically the weather sucks in Buffalo again. Awesome.
Alright. (Transition Sound)
Claire, it's time to wake up sweetpea.
Hi, sweetpea.
(Upbeat Music)
So, usually, she drinks this in about ten minutes so
we will enjoy this time together and then we will be on a mad dash to get to work
So we just finished our bottle, it's about 7:10
so we really need to go cause we were supposed to have left by ten minutes ago
I usually put her in her bouncer at this time and let her watch Sesame Street
but she's not going to have time to watch Sesame Street
so I'm going to go put my tights on and my boots and then we'll go
Say hi? (Laughs)
So, it is 7:25, I am going to be so late for work
I also did not eat breakfast so I will have to stop somewhere
And, oops, I just accidentally turned the radio on, I don't want that.
Okay, so I just dropped off Claire at daycare and
that's the part I hate every single day, I just hate having to take her to daycare.
I mean, she loves her daycare, it's her favorite part of the day.
But, I just wish we had family and friends here so that she could just stay home and
get to be with her toys and her crib but
it's just the way of life, so I am about to start my commute.
It is 7:40, I am going to be super late.
So, my drive is approximately 67 miles so we're in for a long commute and
I have to go to the bathroom so (laughs) I will have to hold that in, so I will see you on the flip side.
(Upbeat Dance Music)
So I just got to school, it took me about an hour and ten minutes, I think
So, it's 8:50. I have to park really far away from my office
So, it's going to take me about 10 to 15 minutes to walk down to my office.
It's 27 degrees in the middle of April.
Those that know me, know that I absolutely hate the weather here.
It just started snowing, so I'm going to put my gloves on and make my walk to the office.
(Upbeat Dance Music)
Alright, so I just got done taking a picture for my Instagram campaign,
I'm walking back to my office to meet with another student to take another picture and,
then, hopefully, I can get through some emails and yeah
(Upbeat Dance Music)
Okay, so it is 4:26, I am leaving work for the day to start my 67 mile commute back home.
(Upbeat Dance Music)
Miss fussbucket!
(baby crying) So I just picked up Claire and,
she is being a Miss Fussbucket, she was crying when I came into the classroom.
It's 5:50, I made it just in time for pickup.
Alright, so Claire could barely keep her eyes open in the car.
Her head just kept falling forward, she was so tired.
It looks like she didn't nap very well today at daycare so I'm going to let her take a nap.
It's about 6:30 I think? Let me see.
No, it's 6:11. I usually don't let her nap this late because it's so close to her bedtime but,
because she barely napped today I'm going to let her take a little bit of a nap and,
then I'll wake her up for her bathtime. So,
since I have some downtime I'm going to try to squeeze in a quick 30-minute workout while she naps
and then, I will start dinner.
I did not put anything out for dinner today, so it looks like we're having spaghetti.
