Rest - Living an INSPIRED life with Doc Nuzum | INSPIRED Health Formula - Duration: 4:23.

Jonathan Hunsaker: Are you getting enough rest?

Is your body getting enough rest?

Stay tuned to find out how much you need.

Jonathan Hunsaker here with Organixx.

Thanks again for tuning in.

Today, we're going to continue to talk about INSPIRED: The 8 Pillars of Health.

Today, we're talking about the letter R, Rest, and you hear it all the time.

Did you get enough sleep?

Are you getting enough sleep?

And one of the biggest questions is, do you really need to get sleep, and how much sleep

or rest do you need?

Let's go ask Doc Nuzum.

Dr. Daniel Nuzum: Okay, today, we're talking about rest.

Rest and recuperation are pretty interesting in that your body does its healing while you're

resting.

We have our autonomic nervous system.

That's our automatically-functioning nervous system is what that means.

Autonomic nervous system.

On one side, you have the parasympathetic aspect of the autonomic nervous system.

On the other side, you have the sympathetic aspect of the autonomic nervous system.

When you're awake, most of your functions are over here in the sympathetic nervous system,

and when you're asleep, most of your functions are over here in the parasympathetic nervous

system.

When you're in a full-blown fight or flight response, you're entirely over here in the

sympathetic nervous system.

If you don't come back out of that, you have a real hard time resting and recovering.

Coming out of that fight or flight response is extremely important for us so that we can rest.

One of the ways of enhancing that is adaptogens.

The other one is to make sure we're going to bed at the same time every day, making

your sleep a habit is extremely important.

If you don't sleep, you don't heal.

You realize if you go for six weeks on minimal sleep, meaning four hours a night of sleep,

there's over 700 things that start to go wrong with your metabolism.

There's sugar metabolism, there's thyroid metabolism, there's adrenal hormone metabolism,

there's gut metabolism, there's 700 different things that start to go awry if you're not

sleeping well at night.

So, rest is extremely important.

Think about this.

You're an athlete and you go, and you train, you go to the gym, you do all these different

things and you push yourself to the limit.

Did you know that all the gains that you make happen while you're resting?

The whole adaptation process gets finished as you sleep, and your body rebuilds itself

stronger.

After you stress it with the exercise, your body has to rebuild itself before it can be

stronger.

In that whole rebuilding process, that's where the adaptation happens, and you actually

become stronger.

So, when you're sleeping is when you get the most recovery or recuperation, but also,

we have to have down time.

Think of this.

Even God took a day off.

He created for 6 days and then he took a day off.

So, if God takes a day off, we should take a day off every once in a while, alright?

If you don't ever have down time, it causes more stress.

I recommend 8 hours of sleep in a 24-hour period.

Not everyone can stay asleep for 8 hours straight.

But making sure you get 8 hours of sleep in a 24-hour period is extremely important.

Other things, taking some down time, getting some rest where you're not sleeping, but

rest.

Take some time off.

If you work 24/7/365, eventually, if you burn the candle at both ends, the candle goes away

real quick.

So, I hope that helps you understand rest and recuperation.

Jonathan Hunsaker: Thanks, Doc, for always sharing so freely and giving us all of the

How Much Is The Human Body Worth? - Duration: 3:31.

Hey there.

Welcome to Life Noggin.

Would you be willing to let some sketchy guy slice you open in his basement to harvest

one of your kidneys?

What if you were promised a nice chunk of money in return?

I really hope your answer is still no, but for some people, this payout is apparently

well worth the risk.

While my animated body is valued at basically nothing, your human bodies are pretty valuable.

Just how much is the human body worth?

Let's add it up.

Black market organ harvesting from dead and living people is an incredibly huge and lucrative

industry.

It's estimated to be worth a whopping one billion dollars.

In this market, kidneys alone are sold to people in need for about $140,000 a pop.

And some organs go for even more.

Take lungs for example.

Estimates value a set of lungs at almost $300,000!

And the almighty heart?

A whopping $595,000.

But the people selling to the black market are only paid a tiny fraction of these selling

prices.

The rest goes to the middle-men and women making the transactions.

And it's not just major organs, all kinds of valuable body parts are in demand on the

black market.

Do you think these 1s and 0s would go for anything, because i have a lot of them!

Underground organ sales and transplantations originally came about for a number of reasons,

but a major one is the fact that the legal organ transplantation system is seriously

lacking.

Recent estimates quote that there are over 100,000 people on transplant waiting lists

in the United States alone and 20 of them die waiting each day.

So, when people are desperate, sometimes they turn to the black market in a last-ditch attempt

to save their lives.

With $1 billion floating around this illegal market and massive organ shortages affecting

so many people, some are starting to question whether you should be allowed to sell your

organs.

Which got me to thinking, does anywhere allow this?

Kind of, yes.

In Iran, people can sell their kidneys through the government, which then gives them to patients

who need them.

This very progressive practice came into play in the 1990s in response to the huge shortage

of donated kidneys.

It's been extremely effective and now Iran is one of the few countries in the world without

a kidney shortage.

But it's more than major organs like kidneys and hearts that are in demand.

On the black market, skull and teeth sets are sold for about $1,200.

Small intestines, $2,500.

Blood, about $3,000.

Bones and ligaments add up to roughly $5,000.

Corneas clock in around $20,000.

And skin is also surprisingly valuable, with the average person's outer layer being worth

about $24,000.

All making you a pretty pricey product.

Now, keep in mind that these estimates are just that, estimates.

There's no official price list for black market organ sales.

But when we take all these price points into account, the human body seems to be worth

over $1,000,000 on the black market!

Does anyone want both my legs, because my animator can just give me new ones!

So how do you feel about all this!?

Would you ever consider donating your organs? or

let us know in the comment section below what we should talk about next?

Curious to know what happens after you die? Check out this video!

The bacteria in your gastrointestinal track will start to break down tissues and cells.

liquefying your body and producing horrific smelling gases like methane and hydrogen sulfide.

What If Woolly Mammoth's Didn't Go Extinct? - Duration: 3:51.

Like many extinctions, the reasons for this were either 1, climate, or 2, humans.

But what if they hadn't gone extinct?

What if woolly mammoths lived on into the modern age?

Today, life's biggest questions asks, what if wooly mammoths didn't go extinct?

Hello and welcome back to life's biggest questions.

I'm charlotte dobre.

Don't forget to like and subscribe and let us know in those comments a question you have

always wanted to know the answer to.

Wooly mammoth are an extinct species of mammoth that lived during the ice age, otherwise known

as the Pleistocene epoch.

Its closest living relative is the Asian elephant.

They were around the same size as African elephants, reaching a heights of up to 11

feet and weighing up to 6 metric tons.

Wooly mammoths were extremely similar to elephants, but they had adapted to living in the extremely

cold climates of the ice age.

They had small ears, and short tails to limit the amount of extremities exposed to the cold.

And of course, wooly mammoths were covered in thick fur that could be either dark or

light, and they had long curved tusks.

Mammoth fossils have been found almost everywhere on earth except Australia and south America.

It is commonly believed that wooly mammoths died out at the end of the last ice age, which

was 10 thousand years ago.

But really, Experts believe the last wooly mammoths died out around 3600 years ago.

A small population of wooly mammoths were able to survive on Wrangel Island, off the

coast of Siberia, until about 1650 BCE. 1650 bce was not that long ago, there were already

complex human civilizations on earth.

Egyptian pharaohs had already been ruling for 1500 years, and the pyramids were already

1 thousand years old.

So what if wooly mammoths never went extinct?

Well one things for certain, they would have only be able to survive in colder areas of

asia, like Siberia.

At the end of the ice age, mammoths, sabre toothed cats, ground sloths and native American

horses began to go extinct.

It's a common belief in the scientific community that all these animals began to die off because

the earth began to warm up.

These animals were adapted for living in cold climates.

Its not just about being covered in thick fur that made living in warmer climates difficult.

The food that these animals ate probably died off as the world began to warm up.

For these reasons, these species could not keep up evolutionarily with the warming globe.

There is another reason why the wooly mammoth could have gone extinct, and that's humans.

When the world got warmer, humans began to advance north to new areas.

They then came across mammoths and likely hunted them.

If wooly mammoths had not gone extinct, its likely that animal conservationists would

have tried to keep them alive in wildlife reseves in colder areas of the world.

But that doesn't mean they would be safe from humans.

Mammoths would be rare and exotic, and before the days of animal conservation, mammoth products

would be highly sought after.

For example, chinese folk medicine, as well as spirituatlity relies heavily on ivory.

Its likely they would be hunted solely for that purpose, or for their meat and fur.

Mammoth fur coats would be owned by the elite.

We would likely see paintings of kings and queens wearing mammoth fur coats, had they

not gone extinct when they had and royal courts would enjoy feasts of mammoth meat.

We don't know much about the wooly mammoths, or their temperament, but if it was similar

to elephants, the possibility of domestication would be on the table.

In the early days of human civilization, they might have been trained and used for heavy

work.

Humans might have also found a way to use them for transportation.

We might have seen cave paintings and other forms of documentation of this.

If wooly mammoths didn't go extinct, there really wouldn't be that many of them left.

They would only exist in small herds in remote areas of the world like the arctic and northern

siberia, or in captivity.

Naturally, some wooly mammoths would have been kept in zoos, so spectators could witness

the ancient creatures.

They would be studied and poked at by scientists.

Its also a possibility that there might have been attempts to clone them to keep their

species alive.

Well there are some ideas of how history would be different if wooly mammoths had not gone

extinct, do you have any others?

Tell us in the comemnts below.

Exotic islands, marine life & sea turtle conservation | 22 SOUTH | Ep.11 - Duration: 10:00.

we are doing a little walk together

I'm surprised that on this island there is nothing about turtles anything for their protection

I noticed some marks of people making fire here

off it would be enough a sign that specifies the period of laying and prohibit this kind of fire on the island

yes when you make a fire it kills eggs that are underneath the sand

knowing that turtles are endangered

In 60 years 80% of sea turtles have disappeared

I don't know if it's natural or the rise of the waters, certainly the rise of the waters

which makes that these dunes were ravaged and so they can not go beyond these dunes

so that they will lay where the sand is wet

The nest will be drowned and the eggs will be dead

I do not count anymore the fires !

these people come here where the conditions are optimal for the turtle

the slope of the dune is quite soft, they can lay in a dry place

sheltered from the wind, bad weather

and people are looking for exactly the same conditions to make their fires

so where it would be likely to have a nest that survives, people come to make their fire in this place

So the human activity has a very big impact that the evolution of the living beings and here of the turtle

these little things are so beautiful

We take ourselves for the masters of the world

instead of being taken for the guardians of this fabulous world

a little bit of hope. I put all my energy, my good thoughts in this nest

She dug deep. It has optimal conditions hoping that there is not a fire that comes to interfere
