Youtube daily is the new Apr 26 2018

- Hello, hello, hello my friends.

Kaitlyn here and let's do an Apartment Tour.

(chiming)

(upbeat electronic music)

So 2018 has been crazy.

I moved back in February

and I made this video when I first moved

because everything seemed to be going wrong.

So I'm pretty sure that there are mice, which is not cool.

No one told me there were mice.

I'm pretty sure they shouldn't have

allowed me to come in here with mice.

Here's the washer and dryer that the mice live in.

(animal squeaking)

It was dirty.

There were no blinds or window coverings of any kind.

And there were a lot of weird little things

that just seemed gross or unsafe.

Like this super nasty shower head, just...gross.

Or this random transformer that was screwed into the wall.

had cords coming out that were cut

and it had actually burned the outlet

behind where it as screwed in.

So basically it was a fire hazard.

Things were a mess and if you know me,

you know I don't like messes.

Because my life in general this year has been a mess

so I needed some semblance of control or consistency.

Just something.

But, hey, like two months after moving in,

I'm finally, I'm finally getting there.

So let's go take a look around.

(upbeat music)

- Ah (laughs).

So I guess, let's start in here.

This is my office.

Over here we have this cool, original fireplace

that looks like it has a door to a magical land.

And I have my vision board up top

with fun, decorative things.

Fake, fake succulents.

These are fake because I kill plants.

You've seen this as a background

for a few of my videos, now,

and I'm still kind of working on the layout I have.

I feel like it's a little bit too busy now.

So, it's a work in progress.

Here's my cool desk from Ikea.

I'm very, very excited about this desk

because it is very big and wide and long

and there's probably like a that's what she said joke

somewhere in there.

It's just so much easier to work at

and spread out all of my stuff and video edit

than my previous desk had been

where I felt very cramped.

Of course, I have to have a picture of Finn.

Another picture of Finn.

And then a picture of my dad when he was very, very young.

So, my dad and my cat.

That's how I roll.

Over here we have, the right side

are all my art supplies.

And the left side is mostly boxes of junk.

Fun fact, here's my glasses collection.

It's definitely a large amount in here.

Random thing covered with a shower curtain over here.

Well, it is a gigantic closet

and you can see where there's like a space

for a sliding inset door but the door was not there

and all that was there was this tension rod

so I found this cool floral shower curtain

and now we cover it so that everyone doesn't see

my giant collection of clothes.

Now let's continue on.

So we come out of the front room

and we enter into the living room.

Let me turn some lights on.

So here we are in the living room.

It should be noted that I'm on the second floor

so there is a long, dark stairwell

that I may have tripped and almost fallen

down these stairs more than I would like to admit.

We've got a nice couch or loveseat that was donated by my aunt.

Thank you, Aunt Grace!

This is wonderful, I have a place to sit (laughs)

in my apartment, which is really nice.

I'm a very big fan of my bookcase/television stand

and TV because this is my first ever TV that I've owned.

I may have gone slightly overboard in size

but I got a good deal.

There is that.

This is the bookcase that was awful to put together.

It said, do not use power tools

but unless you are a bodybuilder,

you definitely needed a drill to put this thing together.

Also, I'm very, very proud of my rainbow,

color-coded books on the bottom.

Photos of friends.

More friends.

There's a whole bunch of wires from my internet.

We won't, don't look at that part.

Look at this part.

Oh, this is great.

This mirror is wonderful.

I got this for $12 at Goodwill.

Just randomly went into a Goodwill

searching for just anything and stumbled upon this.

So, this is why you should definitely go thrift shopping.

Pretty real flowers for my birthday is another plant

that I'm trying to keep alive and probably

not doing the best job at.

Now we walk through this dark hallway

and first we get to the bathroom.

So this bathroom was kind of scary when I first moved in.

We talked about this being like

a clawfoot tub with a shower attachment.

And I was very worried about

how I was gonna make it all work.

But with like four shower curtains

and a whole bunch of zip ties, I have made it work.

You wanna peek outside the window

and see how close I am to the other apartment?

Look how close.

There's another roof.

This is why it was very weird

to not have blinds when I first moved in

because everyone's gonna see you pee.

The toilet's right there.

What, what?

Hello kitchen.

♪ Ah! ♪

So the kitchen's definitely about

creative storage solutions because you'll notice

this is the only cabinet in here.

I have been pretty smart with this cabinet.

I've got a lot of these divider, riser things

which has really doubled the amount of stuff

I can store in here.

Also, I got more hooks for this pot rack.

It looks dangerous (laughs).

I don't know how well it is holding everything

but it looks cool, right, against that brick wall, right?

Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh.

And finally, let's enter the purple oasis

that is my bedroom.

♪ Ah! ♪

Oh, hey, so hello.

Here's the beautiful brick wall

that I put my fairy string lights against.

It's really cool to sit in here at night

after the sun has gone down.

Sitting in the dark, this is really, really nice

to just have these lights on.

It makes it (breathing out) good, calming mood.

I very much enjoy it.

Here's my bed.

Very, very purple.

You'll remember these paintings

from the background of previous videos.

A massive amount of blankets because I have

to make myself a cocoon when I sleep.

My jewelry board.

Again, I have too many necklaces.

This is a recurring theme, as you'll see.

I have too much of everything.

Like, here are some belts, don't look at them (laughs).

This door actually goes out to a balcony back here.

It's shared with my nextdoor neighbor over on this side.

So I don't go out there very often.

I'll you a small peek.

I don't know if they'll be out there.

My back deck.

I don't know what's happening over here.

That's my neighbor's but here's my space.

I haven't used it.

A little backyard space.

Yeah, there you go.

So there you go.

Now you've been on the official KP Apartment Tour.

I'm really starting to like it.

I'm definitely more settled now.

I've got a place to do my yoga,

I've got my cooking routines down

and I've got rugs which just

really make things seem homier, even if they're not

in their final resting places yet.

More than anything, it's mine.

And I feel safe and I'm in an interesting neighborhood

that's got some cool things going on

that I'm slowly starting to get plugged into.

So, yeah, good things are happening.

For the question today, I wanna know,

what do you think about the apartment?

Tell me, down in the comments.

Plus remember that you can follow me on these other

social media sites, Instagram is

my favorite and maybe now that

I've got a nice apartment, I'll start

posting artsy apartment photos and become

like a lifestyle blogger.

Probably...probably not.

And if this video made ya smile, be sure to subscribe

And hit the notification bell so that you know the

moment there's a new video for ya.

And I'll see you guys next Thursday. Bye!

The New/Old York | Episode 1: The Egg Pop Up House and Katz's Deli - Duration: 5:53.

(old timey music plays)

so Ben and I actually had a lot of time to hang out at the Atlantic terminal

so we hung out in the Guitar Center

because we didn't have reservations to the egg house until 2:30

so we really hung around here for a while and got Ben his new guitar strings that he needed

so guitar strings and a D subway later we were near where we needed to be

now I'm going to show you a montage of the egg house

because I took a clip of me talking about it immediately after we got out

(EGG MUSIC FOR EGG MONTAGE!!)

Let me EGGsplain

the year is 2047

eggs are the dominant species now

and we are owned by them

The egg is the symbol of rebirth

and we are all slowly coming out our shells

Why are there....

cactuses?!

so that concludes our little egg house montage

and then we found a little garden after we got out of the egg house

so that's where we filmed the review portion of this adventure

I want to make a series on my youtube channel where I review pop up shops!

and I remember last year I went to the pop tart pop-up shop

I remember having an amazing experience

there was a menu of all these things like pizza and everything but it had pop tarts

it was all pop tart themed!

so TODAY we went to the egg pop up shop

so we walk in and already people are taking picture after picture after picture after picture

and that was basically the (HONK)

that was basically the theme the entire experience

was people not being pleased with their pictures and wanting to take more and more and more and more

and it got really irritating after a while

THEY'RE STILL TAKING PICTURES

The employees were super super nice however

other than me I only heard one other egg pun and

I thought everyone else would be so gung-ho about the egg thing

but everyone just came in cute outfits just getting ready for Instagram photo ops

*mimicking annoying people* get at this angle I don't like that ugh

Like the amount of people who had kids there

and they were like "mom, look what I'm doing"

they're (the moms) like "after this picture"

I could not believe it

I had fun I was kind of making egg jokes here and there

although we did get to everything in the amount of time we had

it was more an exhibit on how shallow people are nowadays

than it was on eggs

Did you see how close those birds are flying near me?

(mhm)

I'm way more into this garden

then... woahh

-it's a really pretty garden

-This is a really pretty garden

Ready? I love- I love the way it looks

Eat it.

-It's yummy it's like white chocolate

-Ohhh ok

-It's yummy

-I like that it's salted

update the actual little black pieces that look like pepper

I thought they were chocolate as well

it's actually pepper

ok so exciting things are happening

we just found out that Katz's Deli is only a nine minute walk away from this very garden

so we decided that with the pop-up shop reviews

every time we're going to pair it with something very very traditional

(my original song plays)

("Give My Regards to Broadway" plays)

did you ever see two Yankees part upon our foreign shore

when the good ship's just about to start for Ol' New York once more

with tear-dimmed eye they say goodbye

they're friends without a doubt

when the man on the pier shouts "let them clear"

as a ship strikes out

give my regards to Broadway

remember me to Herald Square

BEETS - The New Superfood You Should Definitely Be Growing! - Duration: 8:40.

this stuff right here this is the breakfast of champions beet juice if

you're not growing beets in your garden you definitely should be beets have tons

of health benefits they can help detoxify your blood and your liver they

can lower your blood pressure they can provide a lot of antioxidants to fight

free radicals they can provide vitamin C and fiber which is going to help your

digestive system and finally they can boost your stamina and give you a lot of

good healthy energy so we've been growing beets for about three to four

years now but this year we've really really ramped up our beet production we

like the red beets like you see here and the gold beets as well like you see here

both of those are really tasty not only can you eat the beet root but the greens

are also really good to eat as well these things are great raw in a salad or

you can cook them like you would a Swiss chard or something like that

you look inside these beets here the inside of them they're it's really

really pretty for the gold ones you see a nice nice yellow color there for the

red ones really deep deep red color there so we're currently on our third

succession of beet planning for this year we planted some in early January

and we've already harvested those then we plant in another round in late

February early March and you see the lows right here and these are just

getting ready to harvest and we're currently on this third succession

planning we started that this weekend and we're going to finish that up today

and show you how we do it but before we plant our beets today

let's talk a little bit about beet seeds so there's tons of different varieties

of red beets out there and there's several varieties of gold beets out

there as far as the red beets go we've been planting the Detroit dark red and

this early wonder tall top for the gold beets we like the bold or variety but

we've also grown the touchtone variety as well so raw beet seed looks like this

right here it's kind of crinkly looking pretty uneven it looks like charred seed

because they're very closely related and this raw seed doesn't feed very well

through a mechanical planner so if you're going to be using a mechanical

planter you want to go with this pelleted beet seed and all they do is

take the beet seed and coat it with clay make it round so it feeds through that

mechanical planner better so if you're planting in seed trays or planting by

hand go with the raw seed you're going to be using a mechanical cedar go with a

pelleted see and while we've direct seeded a fair share of our beets in the

past lately we became a big fan of transplanting beets so we start the

beets in a greenhouse in these trays and transplant them out when they get big

enough direct seeding beets in the soil can be a little bit tricky sometimes

because beets don't germinate as well in certain soil

conditions so this with this setup here we can have constant soil conditions and

get really good germination so we like to use these 288 cell trays for

transplanting our beets it gives us a nice sized beet transplant for the most

part you can pull these little beet transplants right out of these trays

sometimes they can get a little sticky in there you might have to use a knife

to pull them out so sometimes I'll pull them all out put them in a bucket or

something and then transplant them that way so if I growing them in the trays

and transplanting it allows us to thin the beets while they're in the trays in

the greenhouse so we can pretty much do it standing up as opposed to getting on

her knees and thinning the beets in the ground

so here's some beats we planted this weekend these are gold beats here the

bold or variety and if you've watched any of my other videos you know I always

like to plant stuff on double rows the double rows just allow you to maximize

the space in your garden and also helps shade out the weeds in between those two

rows so anytime I can't plant something on double rows always like to so went

ahead and plucked all those beet plants out of that train just put them in this

little tub truck here just to make them easier to plant so today I'm going to

use this new Dibble wheel attachment on my single wheel hoe to mark the plant

spacing for these beets we're going to transplant this Dibble will attachment

consists of basically a bracket that extends from the wheel hoe tool bar to

the back here where you tack the actual wheels these are the same wheels we use

on our wheel hood they just have holes drilled in them so you can attach these

aluminum dibbles which make a perfect little hole in the ground to put your

transplants in now it does work much better if your soil is firm

even if it's a little wet we got a good rain over the weekend and so perfect

conditions for using this right now the holes are every four inches along

the wheel which gives you four inch spacing and then you could do eight inch

and so forth with the extension of the devil there it ends up being about a

five inch spacing which is going to be perfect for what I'm doing today

now this attachment can be attached to the single wheel hoe the double wheel

hoe or the high arch wheel hoe and you can get kits with just a single Dibble

wheel to Dibble wheels or three Dibble wheels if you get the kit with two or

three Dibble wheels you get this 18 inch aluminum axle here that allows you to

customize the wheel spacing or your row spacing so that's really nice and I've

got this set up here today or about a four to five inch row spacing which is

perfect for planning a double row of beats

so now I'll just take my little beat transplant in here stick it in that hole

right there cover it up and it just fits in there perfectly

so there you go easy beat transplanting with a Haas dipper wheel attachment so

if you do a lot of transplants or you plan a lot of things that don't do well

with overcrowding for instance beets this is a great tool

for you it just makes it really easy to have precise plant spacing so the plants

have the adequate space they need to grow out well so if you have any

questions about planting beets or any questions about this tool right here

just put those in the comments below we'll be glad to answer them for you if

you liked this video and want to see more like it hit the subscribe button

and also hit that little Bell button down there and you'll be able to get

notifications every time we come out with a new video so thanks for watching

Your Gmail account is changing TODAY - All the new features coming to your email REVEALED - Duration: 4:21.

Your Gmail account is changing TODAY - All the new features coming to your email REVEALED GETTY. Gmail users are getting a major update coming to their inbox. Google has just announced the release of a major Gmail upgrade with a rollout starting from today. This refresh will give Gmail's 1.2 billion users an improved look and plenty of extra features including the ability to work offline and send emails in a new confidential mode.

The technology giant says it plans to push out the changes to everyone in the coming weeks. So, if you're a Gmail user, here's every new feature explained. IMPROVED SECURITY Google is well aware of the increase in scam and phishing emails. That's why it's introducing better security alerts in Gmail which should mean users never click on a fake message again.

When Gmail spots something it thinks is a threat it now alerts users with a bold red alert across the message. Not only are these warnings now more noticeable but also contain clear and simple to understand instructions on why they shouldn't be opened.

CONFIDENTIAL MODE Users worried about the contents of an email can now send a message in something Google calls Confidential Mode. This new feature gives the sender more control over how the email is used once in the recipients inbox.

Settings can stop the message getting forwarded to other people and even blocked from being downloaded or printed. There's also the ability to require additional authentication via text message before an email can be viewed. NUDGE, SMART REPLIES AND SNOOZE With our inboxes usually swamped with messages it's easy to miss something important. Now Gmail will give you a nudge if it thinks youve let something slip.

This feature also moves the message further up the inbox to help remind you that it needs action. Google says it uses clever automated AI to work out which emails deserve a nudge so your Gmail always stays private and secure. Another option to help get through the daily barrage of mails is Smart Reply which lets you quickly answer with a automatic response. This feature has been available for a while on the mobile app but you'll now find it on the web as well. Google is also introducing new features to help you minimise interruptions and clutter.

High-priority notifications is a new setting that only notifies you of important messages, keeping interruptions to a minimum. One final update to help to manage your email is the snooze function which disables a message until a set time. EASILY UNSUBSCRIBE FROM SPAM This is a nice touch and should help reduce your email clutter. Gmail can now recommend when to unsubscribe from mailing lists.

Using intelligence, unsubscribe suggestions appear based on cues like how many emails you get from a sender and how many of them you actually read. You'll start to see these notifications show up in your inbox over the coming weeks.

A NEW LOOK As well as these new features there's also a new look coming to Gmail. This brings a less-cluttered appearance and also better integration with Google's vast array of apps. A new side panel shows services such as Google Calendar with interactions then available via a simple click and drag. Users can also now hover over messages (you don't have to click into them) to do things like RSVP to a meeting invite or archive an email thread. WHEN CAN YOU GET IT? Google is rolling out the upgrade slowly but users can sign up today. If you want to give it a try simply go to Settings in the top right and select "Try the new Gmail.
