Youtube daily here Oct 10 2017

Let's all say hello.

I'm going to start.

Hello, I am Aron from NU'EST W.

Hello, I'm Ren from NU'EST W.

Hello, I'm Baekho from NU'EST W.

Hello, I'm JR from NU'EST W.

This is our first time on V LIVE in a long time.

Our last time was three weeks ago.

I think our fans will all know

why we are doing this right now.

Finally, our first album

'W, HERE' is released today.

There were a few teasers here and there

Yes, our new album, 'W, HERE' will be released very soon!

We were all talking about how nervous we are.

As you can see in the teasers,

we have been working so hard towards this.

We have a lot of things prepared in front of us.

I like the Goods for this album as well.

These are our photo cards.

We took selfies this time for this album.

We took it like this.

It turned out really nice.

And, what else I like is...

If you look at the CD,

the picture is printed on it.

Can we show them this?

Are we not allowed to show them?

Ren's picture is on this.

This is Aron.

We saw Baekho's pictures a lot.

This is really great.

The pictures in this are different to the album pictures.

This is our first NU'EST W's 'W, HERE' album!

We have a lot of released a few pictures

along with the teasers.

Who liked their own pictures

and any other stories?

We tried a lot of different shooting techniques

for this album.

For my solo shoot,

I thought there was a ghost.

I didn't see a ghost

but I heard it.

You should have followed the sound.

No, you have to leave ghosts alone.

A lot of people thought

that we took these album pictures

overseas but it was actually in Korea.

It was in Danyang.

You took pictures at a cathedral.

A lot of people knew where this was.

Some people said that it is closer to their homes.

I went to a lot of different places.

I went to Jebu island

and I went into the water

and landed in Daejeon.

When I came back out of the water,

I was back on Jebu island.

What was I saying?

A lot of great pictures were taken

and I think the music video will have turned out well.

I told you that I got burned.

Yes, I got burned.

Anyway...

Let's talk about the title track.

I think you will be curious about it.

Before we actually talk about that...

Let's talk about the album.

Ren, please tell us.

NU'EST W

'W, HERE' is the first album for NU'EST W.

It is a story about us

and showing where everyone is at in their lives.

You can see the lives

of each member

throughout this album.

Ren, that was good.

I feel like he introduced it

as if it wasn't our album.

We wanted to be specific with our album introduction.

Let's go on to the next part.

Let's talk about the title track.

The title track...

We wanted to show the reality

and the dreams we have.

We wanted to compare the two

and we wanted to express the struggles between finding what's realistic

and what is not.

it is very dramatic.

"Where You At"

is a future based song...

It is very dramatic

and the vocals and rap

have the best timing...

You should look forward to the performance as well.

That was the title track introduction.

You heard it...

Since we talked about the title track,

we need to talk about the solo singles as well.

Before we go into it...

We released a highlight medley. How did you feel?

Did you understand the question? I didn't really get it.

It was really impactful.

I thought it turned out really well

and made us more curious.

Some people might wonder

why the balloons are moving.

The AC is blowing right above this. That's why.

There are a lot of comments about Aron.

The lyrics were really popular these days!

Baekho helped me write this song. Baekho!

JR and Baekho, and Aron,

we all worked on the album. That's right.

We are explaining a lot right now.

Ren is really great at following directions.

He has to read it if it is written on the script.

Paradise.

That's not bad.

Paradise.

Okay, stop.

Paradise. That was good. Yes.

And...

I wrote this song

because I was thinking about the fans.

I will release the picture it was based on

and I hope you can listen to the song

while looking at the picture.

I think it will help you understand the song even better.

What about you?

For me, Seventeen's Woozi

helped me put it together.

I wanted to sing something like this

so I asked Woozi to help me.

Even though he was really busy,

he supported me straightaway.

And, helped me write this song.

I really like Baekho's single.

Personally I like mine as well. I like them all.

You are going to hear it soon....

I wrote the lyrics a lot of times.

I used the third round of lyrics,

If we get 10 million hearts,

we were going to do a promise,

If we get passed 11 million hearts,

we will do the medley for them.

We released our solo teasers

but we didn't release the group one.

Everyone wants to know about this.

I am in charge of vocals...

why do I have to do the dance?

Please show us.

They might not be able to see you. Wait a minute.

Start!

Thank you. That was enough.

That was 0,1 seconds.

At 6pm, you will see the music video.

We have passed 11 million hearts now!

Let's do the medley now.

What was the key!

Thank you!

That was it.

That was it.

That was great.

It's my turn now.

I am going to go now.

I'm going to stop right there.

That was great!

What time is it right now?

It is 5:49pm.

We have 11 minutes left.

We don't have much time left.

A few minutes left.

We are thankful to all the people who helped us make this album.

Please give us lots of love.

We worked really hard on this album

We have ten minutes left...

So, we will talk to our fans for the rest of the time.

"What was your motivation for producing and writing songs?"

Motivation...

I don't know really.

Ren and Aron worked on writing songs this time.

Let's stop playing around.

Let's start with Aron.

I didn't write too many parts,

just some of the parts.

I asked him...

What do you want to tell people?

I heard his answer

and we used the themes

and that's how the songs became possible.

I thought about fans

and we have received a lot of lovec.

to express in our songs.

That's where my motivation came in.

He worked really hard on

writing the lyrics.

he worked on this a lot

even late at night.

We have 8 minutes left.

After the press conference,

we were trending on the number 1 spot.

We are number 1 right now.

Thank you!

Why were you late on Instagram?

I uploaded a picture late...

He was busy.

I deleted the teaser picture three times

Number 1 promise?

I think we are going to change parts.

We will upload a video

to show you guys.

If we do this, what part will I do?

We are going to do a countdown

and as soon as it hits 0,

the V LIVE will finish.

We worked really hard on this album

5, 4, 3, 2, 1!

It will be over.

We have five minutes left.

We are really nervous right now.

Yes, fans are saying that they are nervous too.

Ren, you can do whatever you want.

The beginning was really difficult.

It was really dark underwater.

You have to breathe

through an equipment.

It was hard to sink.

If you want to go down,

you have to have weight tied to you.

So, in the beginning,

I signalled like this

but he said that he couldn't see it.

That was a little difficult.

You are very athletic

so I think it would have helped.

We have three minutes left.

Two more comments.

Everyone is saying that we did a good job.

Everyone worked really hard.

Our fans waited so long for this

so we could be motivated by that.

Let's do one more comment.

"What do you do when you are nervous?"

When we are nervous?

When we are nervous... we just accept it.

I think that is the best way.

You have to be nervous before going on stage.

I think that helps with the performance.

We have a minute left.

We worked really hard on this.

Please give it a lot of love and support. Thank you.

Make it a little longer.

We are going to show you great things

in the future as well.

We were NU'EST W! Thank you!

[ENG SUB] NU'EST W [W,HERE] Jacket Filming Behind The Scenes - Duration: 6:09.

SORRY ABOUT THE SHIT AUDIO QUALITY

I USED SCREEN RECORD RIP

This is the filming set of NU'EST W's jacket shoot

If you look at the concept, the atmosphere is more of a home than of a studio,

So we're doing this shoot with the comfortable feeling as if we are at home

I'm anticipating it a lot.

Aron hyung is sticking his tongue out behind the camera.

No? I'm just staying still.

We're doing a jacket shoot after a long time,

The last thing we shot was LOVE PAINT 1 year ago

So I'm really nervous.

He's like a pillow.

The set location today is really pretty

So I think the photos would come out well too.

Please anticipate it a lot.

I'm really happy that our album is going to be released

and I'm also happy that we get to shoot an album jacket

So I worked really hard to let the photos be taken prettily

I did a lot of self-grooming.

Whiteboard Session: Clashing with a Coworker? Here's What to Do - Duration: 8:38.

AMY GALLO: It is a very positive thing

to have conflicts in work.

You get better work outcomes.

You get stronger relationships.

It's how we handle conflict that's often negative.

We don't think rationally.

We don't make good choices.

We say things we regret.

Before you have the conversation,

if you go through these four steps,

it's going to help you make a rational, smart choice.

Informed choice.

About what to do and how to do it.

It's important to note that the very first step is not

to focus on your feelings.

That's going to be our instinct, right?

We're all very narcissistic when we enter a conflict.

And that's a natural thing.

But you need to break out of that

and start to think about the other person.

This is not out of generosity.

This is not out of altruism.

This is a strategic move that's going

to help you solve the conflict.

So ask yourself questions like, is this person a conflict

seeker or an avoider?

What is the goal they're trying to achieve here?

What is it that they want from this situation?

You might think that person is out to get you.

Or you might think that the person really

just wants the promotion that you're also aiming for.

But what else could be going on for that person?

Could it be that they had a long night?

You know, didn't get much sleep.

Could it be that they're under a lot of stress at home?

Could it be that they care about this project?

Or that one of the values that they care most about--

let's say fairness or honesty--

is being threatened.

So really try to get into the mind of the other person.

This includes, as I mentioned, understanding whether they're

an avoider or a seeker.

Avoiders value relationships and harmony.

That's what's most important to them.

They often will placate others because of these concerns

about having good relationships at work.

They'll try to change the topic.

They'll try to redirect people to something else.

It's a very good strategy if you're an avoider,

and you don't want to be in a conflict.

Now seekers, on the other hand, value directness and honesty.

Again, it's not that they don't care about relationships

and harmony, it's just for them, directness and honesty

is more important.

They will advocate for themselves

when they get into a conflict.

They're not afraid to say what they want and what they need.

That also means they're usually willing to advocate for others

as well.

They also can be impatient when it comes to conflict.

Now, I say this with absolute empathy

because I identify as a seeker.

There are lots of people who are both avoiders and seekers.

You might be an avoider with your boss,

but a seeker with your mother.

So we all sometimes use different roles

and different tactics.

But most of us have a general default approach.

So, like I said, you need to know what you yourself are.

You also need to know what the other person is.

For example, if you're a seeker and the other person's

and avoider, in this first step you're

going to notice, OK great.

I have to watch out for bullying.

Or I have to watch out that I don't talk over this person.

Or if they start to change the topic,

I need to understand that's part of their avoider-ness,

not because they're being disrespectful to me.

The second thing you need to know is, the type of conflict

you're having.

Most of us assume that we are in what

we call relationship conflict.

Which is also personal conflict.

Now, that's very common is that you'll feel disrespected.

Or you'll feel that your relationship is at stake.

This is particularly common for avoiders.

And the truth is, most conflicts-- especially

at work-- don't necessarily start as a relationship

conflict.

It's not that your interaction or your working relationship

is at stake.

More often, it starts as one of the others.

And the most common is task.

Task conflicts are conflicts when you disagree

over the goal or the objective.

So I might think the goal with our project

is to improve customer service.

While you think the goal is to increase revenue.

That's also related to the third type of conflict,

which is a process conflict.

So we might agree on the goal.

So we might agree that the goal is to increase revenue.

But we might disagree about the way to get there.

So I often think of this as the what, and this as the how.

That's linked to the last type of conflict,

which is status conflict.

And that's really about power.

So who has the power or authority

to make a decision to move something forward?

And you see this a lot on cross-functional task forces,

or cross-functional teams.

Where it's not exactly clear who's in charge.

And there's a lot of jockeying for position, or for authority,

or you might even see some turf wars.

No matter what type of conflict you're having--

whether it's one of these last three--

often it can then end up in a relationship conflict, right?

So you start to disagree over what the goal of the project

is.

But then I start to feel disrespected.

Perhaps you sent me a snarky email at 11:00 at night.

Or perhaps, your raised your voice at me during a meeting.

So I start to feel like our relationship is at stake.

And that's why this step is really helpful.

Because what you want to do is, think about what

was actually going on?

What actually started?

Was it that you disagreed over what

you were trying to achieve?

Did you disagree. how you were going to try to achieve it?

Did you disagree about who was in charge?

And then did it evolve into something that felt personal

and possibly disrespectful?

Analyzing that, and understanding

what exactly is going on, will help

you tease apart the different strings of your conflict.

Now, the third step is to understand your goal.

Most of us feel like when we enter a conflict,

I want to win.

If that's your goal, think of a different goal.

Is it that the project needs to get done on time?

Is it the product needs to come under budget?

Is it that you want to have a strong working

relationship with the person who you're having a conflict with?

You also want to make sure that your goal is a shared goal.

So that work you did in step one,

to understand your counterpart and think about her goal.

If there's any overlap between how what you're

trying to achieve and what she's trying to achieve,

that's a great place to start when you actually

have the conversation.

Now the last step--

the fourth-- is to choose an option.

So the first option is to do absolutely nothing.

Now, I know that sounds a little bit like a funny option.

But we do this all day long.

This is a great option if you're very concerned

about the relationship.

If you are dealing with someone who tends to be unreasonable.

If you feel like they won't be open to having a conversation.

This is not a good option if you think

that you're going to stew about the situation.

The second is, directly address.

I think, especially in American work culture, US work culture,

this is what we think of most often when we

think of conflict management or conflict resolution.

This is where you and your counterpart

talk about options for how to resolve it.

And you'll hopefully come to a resolution.

The third option is to indirectly address.

Now, in many cultures--

or many contexts, many organizations--

indirectly addressing it feels like a little bit,

perhaps, passive aggressive.

But there's many contexts in which

this is a very useful option.

Now, the last option is to exit the relationship.

Now, this should be a last resort option.

It's often not possible in work culture or work environments.

You may not be able to quit your job.

You may not be able to get a new boss.

You may not be able to change who you share your office with,

right?

But if you've tried one or more of these options--

hopefully all of them--

and things are not getting better, then you

should definitely think about how can I lessen my interaction

with this person?

Can I get staffed to a new team?

Can I maybe, you know, switch departments and report

to a new boss?

You know, you don't need to stay in a situation

where you're having a lot of conflict,

and it really feels unresolvable.

There's very good reasons to have

healthy conflict on a team.

And it's actually a manager's responsibility

to create some of that conflict, as long as it's healthy.

As long as teams have the tools they

need to work through it in a productive way.

The shame of addiction turned my life into a lie. Here's what saved my family - Duration: 3:01.

JUDY WOODRUFF: As part of our series America Addicted, tonight, we look at the role shame

sometimes plays in families coping with a loved one's addiction.

Anita Devlin speaks to groups all over the country about addiction, but, as you will

hear in tonight's In My Humble Opinion, it was a dangerously long time before she spoke

up at all.

ANITA DEVLIN, Author: If you looked at our family photos seven years ago, you wouldn't

have seen the darkness, because that's exactly what I wanted.

I cared about keeping up appearances.

I couldn't imagine what would happen to my world if people found out.

If I said it aloud, if I asked for help, that would make it real.

My son Michael was 17.

He had been taking painkillers after having back-to-back surgeries for lacrosse injuries.

They were prescribed by a doctor, so I never thought twice about giving them to him.

I even picked them up at the pharmacy and doled them out like vitamins.

Giving them to my son was my choice.

Taking them was his choice.

Becoming addicted to them was never a choice.

Little by little, Mike started to change right in front of me.

He lost weight.

He began to lie.

In the place of my son stood a complete stranger.

This wasn't in our life plans.

My husband and I had a loving marriage, strong careers, a beautiful home and two wonderful

children.

Then the voices started creeping into my head, first, the denial of, not my child, then the

shaming of, don't tell anyone.

People will think I'm a terrible parent.

Everyone will think I have failed my child.

I thought it was his choice to be taking those pills.

And when his roommates called to say he was missing, a friend was at my house and heard

what was going on.

I had kept it a secret.

I hadn't told her anything.

Once I did tell her the story, she reached out to treatment centers, because I didn't

even know who to call.

Shame is powerful.

Shame makes us quiet.

And being quiet means being alone.

No one can do this alone.

And we will never solve the opioid epidemic if we continue to let judgment fester.

No one should be afraid to ask for help, for fear of being blamed or shamed.

No one is immune to this insidious disease.

I'm one of the lucky moms.

It took time, but I realized I was living a lie.

Keeping up appearances no longer mattered.

Helping my only son was the only thing that mattered.

Fortunately, Michael accepted help.

He went to a residential treatment program, where our family received counseling.

He's been in recovery for nearly seven years, and our lives are filled with gratitude.

Today, I'm an advocate, not only for long-term addiction treatment, but also for living authentically.

Only when we take steps to eradicate shame can we truly help heal broken families.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Anita Devlin, we thank you.
