Clinton aides deny infighting captured in 'Shattered' book
Hillary Clinton's campaign aides are aggressively pushing back against a newly released book
that portrays their operation as a dysfunctional knife-fest, insisting that, despite its flaws,
the campaign was focused and supportive throughout the hard-fought election.
"Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign" hit shelves on Tuesday and presents
an unflinching autopsy on Clinton's latest failed White House bid.
The authors — political reporters Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes — write about Clinton
confidants angling to get campaign manager Robby Mook fired and longtime aide Huma Abedin
unhelpfully targeting people who offered constructive criticism.
But Clinton's top aides say the campaign comprised a group of people who, like their
slogan said, were "Stronger Together" — even as they endured a long slog that
ended in defeat.

Chaffetz demands Trump Org explain plans to donate certain profits
A key House Republican is calling on the Trump Organization to give more details about its
system for identifying and donating profits to the Treasury Department that come from
foreign government officials who make payments to any of President Donald Trump's businesses.
In a letter Friday to Trump's attorneys, Utah GOP Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the chairman
of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and his Democratic counterpart
asked for an explanation on whether the Trump Organization, Trump's family trust or the
president himself intend to claim any of the Treasury donations as a gift for tax deduction
purposes.
The president's company has promised by next year to make its first annual donation
to the Treasury in an attempt to avoid a constitutional prohibition against U.S. government officials
taking payments from foreign governments.
Last month, a Trump Organization spokeswoman offered some initial details on that plan,
which would include following "hospitality industry standards" to calculate the profits
that would go toward the donation.
But Chaffetz and Maryland Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings want more specifics.

Ever since Bill O'Reilly was let from Fox News, the mainstream media has been trying
their hardest to accuse every Fox News anchor of being a sexual harasser.
They attacked Sean Hannity for harassing a woman, until the women in question said it
wasn't true.
Now they are after Jesse Waters.
Jesse made headlines after making a 'controversial' statement about Ivanka Trump.
While watching a clip of Ivanka speak in Germany Watters commented "But, uh, I really like
the way she was speaking into that microphone."
No one seemed to have any issue with it at the time and later in a tweet he clarified
what he meant.
"On air I was referring to Ivanka's voice and how it resonates like a smooth jazz radio
DJ.
This was in no way a joke about anything else," tweeted Waters.
However, liberals with their heads in the gutter are attacking him for making an oral
sex joke.
Now they are after his job.
Lisa Bloom, attorney of Bill O'Reilly's sexual harassment accusers sent Jesse Waters
a disturbing message.
"Jesse, I know you work in an environment that reduces every woman to sexual plaything,
but you're still responsible for your own sleaze," wrote Bloom.
"We all saw your hand to mouth gesture on the video.
We're watching how you demean women.
We brought O'Reilly down.
Maybe you should be next," she wrote.
This is a very serious threat.

Trump White House will release tax reform plan next week
President Donald Trump said Friday that the process to reform America's tax code will
kick into high gear next week.
"We'll be having a big announcement on Wednesday having to do with tax reform.
The process has begun long ago, but it really formally begins on Wednesday," Trump said
Friday afternoon after signing executive orders at the Treasury Department.
"So," he added, turning to and pointing at Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, "go
do it."
"I will, Mr. President," Mnuchin replied.
Earlier on Friday, Trump told The Associated Press that his administration will release
its tax reform plan next week — ahead of the White House's 100-day mark.
The president provided no details to AP but said individuals and businesses will receive
"massive tax cuts," which he predicted would be "bigger I believe than any tax
cut ever."
He added that the plan will be unveiled "Wednesday or shortly thereafter."

DOJ warns 8 cities in sanctuary city crackdown
The Justice Department on Friday sent letters to eight cities, threatening to withhold federal
grant money if they don't demonstrate cooperation with immigration enforcement.
President Donald Trump has promised to force "sanctuary cities" to follow the federal
government's lead on enforcement of immigration laws.
Hundreds of jurisdictions across the U.S. limit to varying degrees their cooperation
with federal authorities.The letters were sent to New York City, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia,
New Orleans, Las Vegas, Milwaukee and Sacramento, as well as Cook County, Illinois.
DOJ asked these local governments to provide documentation that they're complying with
a federal law that requires information-sharing by local, state and federal authorities on
citizenship and immigration status.
If the nine jurisdictions don't present documentation of compliance by June 30, DOJ
said it may withhold or terminate funds under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance
Grant program, which funds state and local criminal justice programs.

Ryan Spending bill won't include Obamacare payments
House Speaker Paul Ryan said the spending bill to keep the federal government running
won't include funding for Obamacare's cost-sharing subsidies.
"CSRs, we're not doing that," Ryan said Wednesday, referring to the subsidy program
that helps reduce out-of-pocket health costs for low-income Obamacare customers.
"That is not in an appropriation bill, that's something separate that the administration
does."
Lawmakers are "very, very close on everything else" in the spending bill, Ryan said during
a press conference.
Government funding is set to run out after Friday.
Insurers, state regulators and health care groups have urged Congress to continue funding
Obamacare's cost-sharing subsidies, warning the law's insurance marketplaces could collapse
without them.
The House, which complained the Obama administration illegally funded the subsidies, successfully
sued to block the program.
But the subsidies continue to flow while
the case is on appeal.
