Benefits of Working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Mentors - Duration: 2:37.

Yes!

Why not get involved?

What are you waiting for?

Don't drag your feet just because you're a little scared.

Come join us!

The Deaf Mentor program is ready to support you in everything!

You don't have to be ashamed of having a deaf child.

I do understand how some people may feel.

They have told me about feeling ashamed, or their fear of criticism, or other issues.

Don't think that way.

Get rid of all of those negative thoughts.

Be positive, have faith, and go for it!

People are going to offer suggestions but you don't have to follow what they say.

They are just suggestions not requirements.

We are not going to say you are wrong or don't do that.

We may make suggestions and if it doesn't work, we go back, tweak it and try again.

So don't get discouraged!

Our suggestions are to help you grow in your relationship and communication with your kids...

to make sure they're not left behind in their education.

...or left behind in communication.

We don't want them to feel alone!

We want them to be involved with YOU and your family.

Doing things together.

We don't want them to feel separated... held back or frustrated.

It's going to be important for you to ask your deaf mentor how to deal with your kids

when they are behaving differently.

The mentor may have a chance to observe the behavior,

and offer explanations.

They may take a moment to talk with your kid, to listen and get a sense of what they are

feeling.

But understand that it's not just between the two of them.

It needs to be everyone working as team to clearly understand how

the deaf child feels and provide support and encouragement.

Get involved with the deaf community, deaf culture, sign language, … oral speech,

even practicing speech with them.

You can teach them about your culture, your heritage, or your traditions.

They are going to learn from you and become successful.

And in the future when they are grown up, they will say "thank you

for supporting me and giving me a sense of pride."

That's what my grandfather did for me.

He was an important part of my life and a great role model.

He was always supportive and involved in everything.

That is how I developed my self-worth.

I didn't feel left out or alone.

I had a "I can do it" attitude.

You can help your kids feel the same way I did.

And they will!

They will know they can do anything, be independent and learn.

They are going to come to you for advice rather than feeling lost.

You can work together, ...and be successful.

And I know you will!

Trump I'll withdraw from NAFTA if we don't get a 'fair deal for all' - Duration: 13:23.

Trump I'll withdraw from NAFTA if we don't get a 'fair deal for all'

President Donald Trump said Thursday that his willingness to renegotiate NAFTA came

with a warning to the leaders of Mexico and Canada: that he is fully prepared to back

out of the trade pact "if we do not reach a fair deal for all."

Still, Trump sounded an optimistic tone in a pair of Thursday morning posts to Twitter.

"I received calls from the President of Mexico and the Prime Minister of Canada asking

to renegotiate NAFTA rather than terminate," Trump wrote.

"I agreed, subject to the fact that if we do not reach a fair deal for all, we will

then terminate NAFTA.

Relationships are good-deal very possible!"

The White House's initial announcement that Trump would not immediately initiate the removal

of the U.S. from NAFTA came Wednesday in a readout of the president's calls with his

Mexican and Canadian counterparts.

Trump, who railed against multi-nation trade deals like NAFTA on the campaign trail, promised

in his 100-day contract with voters to either renegotiate the agreement or remove the U.S.

from it.

Respect Marriage but Don't worship marriage TD Jakes 2017 (Love Series) - Duration: 4:47.

number six Respect marriage

respect marriage I want I want to just start with that one phrase

respect marriage

when you know somebody's married

Don't be all up in their face

His wife just insecure no you just went too far

give yourself a little test

when you find yourself becoming critical

you like the one person

but you're very critical of the companion

Start examining your motives

because whatever they got they got that going on

and you really don't have anything to do with it

so if you find yourself being real opinionated

about their relationship you probably have gotten too far over into

that

I respect marriage it's just her

because when you get somebody

you gonna act funny when people are all up in their face

and inappropriate and they are falling all over them

Respect marriage while you're single

so you don't have to reap that

and when I say respect marriage

that includes being some spare tire

somebody who gets seen every few months

and all that kind stuff

It get encompasses all of that

and if you even goes down how you conduct yourself around people

that are married

you just respect it

It doesn't mean that you can't be nice

can't be polite can't do business

but there are certain lines you don't cross

because you wouldn't want anybody to treat your interests

like that so you that

Respect marriage

but do not worship it

don't worship it

don't worship marriage as if it is the end all

of what life is because if you are single

and you you worship the idea of marriage when you if you ever do get married it

won't live up to your idea and when it doesn't live up to your idea every time

you find something that deliver to your idea you'll quit because you must

understand that God's name is jealous the Bible says that the Lord is that his

name is jealous and that he will have no other gods before and certain people

worship marries they worship having somebody in their life they make an idol

out of having other people they worship the idea of marry and you're never going

to find anybody you're looking for mr. right and miss right they don't exist

they're not they're the closest you will get is mr. almost and miss pretty close

and if you get about there Thanks respective are you ready for the next

When you are in debt

it affects your personality your contentment

your happiness

it makes you make poor decisions because you need help

you got a temporary problem and you make a permanent decision

made a video mixing a bunch of energy drinks and drinking it

and you're going to rip that off

Wait and see

First lets review her video

I don't want to be sick anymore

I came up with something

These are all energy drinks

The video idea is pretty generic

but

it's also something that's bound to pull in the views

so I'll give you a pass

You finished the drink which is always good to see

Nice reaction

BUT

YOU ONLY USED A BIT FROM EACH BOTTLE

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REST?

WHO ARE YOU? HAJIME??

Are you okay?

Anyway

I'm going to show my disciple

the right way

to make a video where you mix a bunch of energy drinks

Here are my energy drinks

They're not all the same as Jenni's

but that doesn't matter

as long as you mix a bunch of random shit together

you're good to go

First I'm going to put a bit of each into this flask

just like Jennni

*the mixing song*

Time to drink

Remember

Your reaction is very important

You can do a cute reaction like Jenni

but if you continue doing that

people will be like "Stop trying to act cute!!!"

so you need a bit of variation

do something different

The most popular one is

The over reaction

Most Youtubers

in Challenge type videos

will over react

because that's what people want to see (I think)

Bottoms up

Also kids don't try this at home

It's probably bad for your heart...or something

If you do this and die

don't blame me

Please don't die though

and that's an example of an over reaction

Still alive

Wooo

Now what are we going to do with what's left of the energy drinks

well first we are going to dump it into this

add a banana

last

add some soy milk or milk

Let's

Mix

Looks good

Looks like mango juice or something

Wait, maybe we should change rooms

Okay now I'm ready to down this

Dude, why do you need to drink it in the bat...

SHUT UP!

*sigh*

Bottoms up

THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT JENNI!!!

THIS IS WHAT BEING A YOUTUBER IS ABOUT!!!

What You Don't Know About Denzel Washington's Marriage - Duration: 4:58.

Denzel Washington and Pauletta Pearson met in 1977.

Over the last four decades, they've managed to build a family and maintain a marriage

in a time and place where that seems almost unheard of.

How have they done it?

Here's a look at what you don't know about Denzel Washington's marriage.

Rumor and scandal

For years, unsubstantiated rumors have claimed that Denzel has been stepping out.

In 2003, tabloids alleged that Denzel was not only having an affair with his Out of

Time co-star Sanaa Lathan, but that she was pregnant with his child.

Lathan flatly denied the claim, telling Vibe,"[The rumor] got started because the movie had a

love scene with Denzel, and people took that and translated it to real life...

It's frustrating.

People are going to talk no matter what."

More rumors surfaced in 2013, when Denzel was supposedly either romancing a mystery

blonde or else having an affair with 2 Guns costar Paula Patton.

Then in 2016, rumors swirled that Denzel and Pauletta were getting a divorce due to his

supposed cheating.

But Denzel has consistently denied those rumors, and so far, the couple is still going strong.

Love at third sight

Their marriage may be the stuff of Hollywood legend now, but it didn't get off to the best

start.

Pauletta has publicly stated for years that she ended up paying for their first date.

But Denzel has a different story, claiming that he paid for most of it right up until

an unexpectedly long cab ride strained his bank account too far.

"And the meter's going and I'm going, 'ut oh...how far away does she live?"

"Oh, right."

"She paid."

That might explain why she actually said no the first two times he proposed, only accepting

on the third proposal.

And even then, the wedding had its hiccups too, as the reception ran out of food before

the couple had a chance to eat.

They ended up having to go to a local diner for fast food on their own wedding day!

The family that prays together stays together

Denzel Washington is one of Hollywood's famously religious stars, and it's evident in some

of his movies, like Book of Eli.

It's not surprising, either, given that his father was a Pentecostal preacher.

According to Christianity Today, he not only chooses roles that are in line with his values,

but he prays and reads the Bible every morning.

And Pauletta shares that faith.

In fact, the couple worked together on an audio version of the Bible called The Bible

Experience.

When they spoke to CBS News about just what it was that drew them to the project, they

both spoke about their steadfast belief that any answer to any problem could be found in

the pages of the Good Book, and that participating in making an audio version of that was going

to make it accessible to countless people.

For Pauletta's part, she considered it not only a privilege to work on the project, but

to do so with her husband.

"It's a true story.

And it's a… um… an ou-outline I thought for..

The original design of marriage."

Charity starts at home

Many actors and actresses spend their time championing a chosen cause or two, and Denzel

and Pauletta Washington are known for doing the same.

For instance, the couple have established a scholarship fund at Cedars-Sinai: the Pauletta

and Denzel Washington Family Gifted Scholars Program in Neuroscience.

The fund provides training opportunities for medical students as well as the financial

means to partner young students with researchers in their particular field of interest.

And in 2016, they jointly hosted a fundraiser for the Smithsonian's National Museum of African

American History and Culture, raising over $17 million.

The idea came from a family trip to the Holocaust museum in Israel.

Pauletta told Variety, "I asked my kids about it after we left and I could tell it haunted

them, too.

But it also made them think about their own history and they asked me where was a place

that told our [African American] story.

That hit me because I didn't know at the time this museum was in the making."

Hard work pays off

Hollywood is famous for scandals and short-term relationships, so it's no surprise that everyone

wants to know the secret behind the Washington's long marriage.

Denzel said on Reddit that "I just think that you have to work at it.

Not give up on each other.

It's a commitment.

It's not all the honeymoon, it doesn't last forever, so you work at it.

And hopefully you're good friends first, that might help!

Sometimes people get married for the right reasons."

"I got got a good woman, that's the first thing.

And uh..

You know… just keep working at it."

And Pauletta backed him up in a 2013 Ebony interview, saying there are plenty of ups

and downs, but it's all part of making a lifelong commitment.

"I live with this man.

I see the down part.

I see the sad part.

I see every part.

He has and knows he has that stability in me as his wife.

That gives him strength, regardless of if he misuses it.

I can't dwell on that.

But I do know that gives him a great platform to go and fly."

Keep on flying, Denzel and Pauletta!

Don't Use Paddles for Triathlon Swim Training - Duration: 8:20.

- [Taren] I don't even care if we have kick

in the set today, I'm kicking.

(wooshing)

Antithetical, how's that for a five dollar word?

(wooshing)

Fabulous evening, so much romance.

(wooshing)

Morning, Trainiacs, gotta sneak in a very, very

quick, quick, quick swim this morning because

gotta get to the office.

We got a shoot with a client in the studio

with the brick background out.

Contraband pool box.

At,

whoops,

eight o'clock,

it is currently six o'clock

that means that I torture myself with a Coach Pat workout

for exactly one hour and then go soap up.

That might've been TMI.

Check this out. (laughs)

I don't even care if we have kick in set today,

I'm kicking.

(big, loud splash)

(splashing)

Funny story about that swim that's a little antithetical

to what you thought might be happening

while I'm training for a marathon swim.

Antithetical, how's that for a five dollar word?

Right there was a lot of speed, a lot of steady work,

a lot of strength work, might be saying to yourself,

"Taren, why would you do that while you're training

for a steady, long 10-hour marathon swim?"

Good point!

However, I'm not going to be doing marathon swims

for the rest of my life and the last time

I did the marathon swim training,

all I did was the long, slow steady work.

After the swim was done, my speed was gone.

I literally could not turn my arms over very quickly

so Coach Pat, being the wise man that he is,

every now and again he throws in workouts like that.

Kick that cadence up a notch,

reminder our body how to move quickly.

I threw all the hand paddles in the backpack

so that we can talk about that at the office because

I use hand paddles but I don't know

if you should be using hand paddles.

I'll talk about hand paddles.

Okay, I gotta ride now, safely.

There we go.

While we have this all fancy and set up and here,

that shoot was, do you remember, uh?

There we go.

A few weeks ago, when I said

there was something really exciting to share,

by the time you see this, I can talk about it.

That is the new Blackberry

and I abandoned Blackberry about

(stuttering) five to six years ago.

Never thought I'd go back.

This is the key one, we got a bunch of these in the office

because we're doing a lot of client work on it.

Kinda makes me wanna go back.

It's nice.

So I brought these little beauties to the office because

I had to get here for that shoot,

but I figured it was at least worth talking about.

I mentioned hand paddles before but we don't use them a ton

so I haven't ever explained more thoroughly

how often we use them, how we use them, why we use them,

and probably why you shouldn't use them.

So I didn't want to just show them off this morning

and then have a bunch of people be like,

"Oh yeah, gotta go get me some hand paddles because

Triathlon Taren uses them."

We, in our group, have two types of hand paddles.

We've got these contoured paddles

and these freestyle paddles from FINIS.

Now the differences are these paddes, if you can see there,

there we go.

THey're curved so they scoop in a lot of water,

they've got all these holes throughout

so it's not just a flat piece of plastic.

You put your whole hand in here so that it's nice and stable

whereas these, you only have one hand so it's unstable,

you've got that nice keel under the water,

and you've got that little scoop

for your hand to go like this.

This is way harder on your body than this.

These are used to build strength in your stroke

and ideally, in your lats because

you're gonna scoop a ton of the water

and you're gonna have to pull back your lats.

These are meant for refining your stroke,

making sure that you've got a nice, straight hand entry

and a straight pull back.

The reason that these are better for technique is because

if you're going at an angle or sideways,

the keel is gonna throw it way off

and you've gotta make sure

that your hand is in a straight position.

Also, if you're going back, to the side,

it's gonna throw itself off.

Basically, if you have an inefficient,

wonky stroke, at any point,

this is gonna start going like whap, whap, whap.

This is still gonna let you do

that inefficient, wonky stroke so

this is far safer than this.

So this I have no problem recommending to beginner swimmers

because it'll help you develop that nice, efficient stroke

and it's not gonna do it with a ton of risk.

I'm very cautious about recommending these

to new triathletes because these put a ton of stress

on your body when you have an inefficient stroke.

In my case, I can't use these for any more than,

I think, maybe, at the top end, I've got up to 800 meters

using these paddles in a set.

Have I been calling them fins this whole time?

And at around six, 800 meters, I can start telling

that my stroke is trying to compensate,

so things that I compensate with,

as I try to set the catch, I'll raise my shoulder to do that

because my lats are tiring out too much from this.

This is really risky because those little bits

of extra movement that aren't part of an efficient stroke

are what is going to lead to injuries

so what I would recommend is, yes, you can use this

to develop a good swim stroke.

You can also use this to develop a little bit more strength

without the risk of hurting yourself.

Down the road, if you wanna step it up a notch,

you can step it up to this, but do it really gradually.

One, 200 meters, maybe, see how hour body reacts to it.

If you start feeling little bits of aches and pains,

you can go to something that isn't contoured like this,

but it's just flat or a really small hand paddle.

And then in addition to that, when you start using this,

also assume that you've gotta increase the amount

of strength work that you put into maintaining your body.

So the reason that I was confident in throwing these on

right now is because I'm doing a ton of hanging,

a ton of core work, a ton of shoulder stability and mobility

and I knew that my body was gonna be able to handle this,

but like I say, even at 600 meters, I was like,

"Okay, done, that's enough of that."

Disclaimer of the hand paddles done.

Look at this, it's got keys. Keys.

You can type on it. What are these things?

(tapping)

Day of work, home, and then that stability work.

Alright, you wanna to seven minute halves with me?

Kim has four computers within an arms reach

and I'm the social media dude.

Alright Gracie, you gonna do seven minute halves?

Do dogs have abs?

The answer is please.

- [Taren] We're trying Core one routine on 19 seconds.

Haven't done that in a while.

(shuffling)

(beeping)

(shuffling) (beeping)

Hey Pete, come on, come say hi.

Trainiacs haven't seen you guys in a while.

These guys, you always smell their audio input.

And Gracie, you just stare at me.

Somebody noticed that you look at me

like my face is made of meat.

Let's say you and me watch some Survivor

and I finish up the rest of my strength routine?

- [Kim] That sounds like a fabulous evening.

Fabulous evening.

The Real Reason You Don't Hear From Sacha Baron Cohen Anymore - Duration: 5:10.

Hollywood was once very niiiiiice to Sacha Baron Cohen, the British comedian who broke

through in the U.S. with 2006's Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious

Nation of Kazakhstan.

"Welcome to our country."

"My name ah Borat."

"Ok, well, ah good good.

I'm not used to that but that's fine"

Centered around an often crude, sexist, racist and naïve reporter from Kazakhstan, the comedy

opened up opportunities for Cohen to star in a wide range of big movies like Talladega

Nights, The Dictator, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Les Misérables and more.

But despite that string of roles, Baron Cohen hasn't popped up on the big screen quite as

often as he once did — and here are a few reasons why.

Family man

Unlike many of his peers, Baron Cohen doesn't churn out multiple movies per year, and that's

by design.

Sacha and his wife, actress Isla Fisher, have three young children, and they both want to

be active, present parents.

Cohen has committed to only making a movie every couple of years, while Fisher plans

to only take supporting role until their kids are fully grown.

While these Hollywood parents love to act, it sounds like they're putting family first

— at least for a little while.

Real World Reputation

Even if Baron Cohen wanted to keep making reality-blurring movies like Borat, he doesn't

think he could.

A victim of his own success, he fears he's become too recognizable to pull off a movie

like Borat or Bruno again.

On top of that, there's also the matter of the inherent danger in making those kinds

of movies, as Baron Cohen's films have definitely landed him in hot water in the past.

"The idea of the movie was actually to end it with inciting a riot in Arkansas while

me and my co-star made out on stage."

He was lucky to get out of that one unharmed, but even a minor, non-deadly stunt from Sacha

can end up being very stressful.

When Baron Cohen made a surprise appearance as Ali G at the 2016 Academy Awards, people

were genuinely shocked — because the show producers had specifically told him not to

do it.

This caused some stress for his wife, who had to be complicit in the prank and even

smuggled the Ali G costume into the awards ceremony under her dress.

She then had to help her husband get into character backstage and lie to the producers

who were trying to figure out what he was up to.

"So I was really stressed I was like 'Honey honey this isn't gonna work' then I had to

go out finally and I said 'There is something that is wrong with his stomach.

It's really bad.'

Fisher did what any reasonable person would do after faking out 20 million people on live

TV; she hit the bar...

The Brothers Grimsby

Baron Cohen's last "big" movie was 2016's The Brothers Grimsby.

Like some of Baron Cohen's previous films, the mismatched spy comedy made headlines not

for its creativity, but more for it's shockingly crude moments.

The movie was wildly unsuccessful, both commercially and critically as it really seems like almost

no one connected with this flick.

It was one of Baron Cohen's few leading roles in a movie in which he didn't play a character

interacting with real life people — and audiences just weren't that into it.

One hit Wonder...

Between 2000 and 2004, Sacha Baron Cohen created three main characters for his comedy series,

Da Ali G Show — Ali G, Borat and Bruno.

And by 2009, he'd brought all of them to the big screen.

While Ali G Indahouse wasn't released theatrically in the U.S., 2006's Borat was a massive

hit, bringing in $128 million and earning Baron Cohen and his collaborators an Oscar

nomination for screenwriting.

"This suit is black, purse, not"

In 2009, Baron Cohen brought his third and final character, Bruno, to movie audiences,

but he was unable to recapture the magic of Borat.

Bruno, a mockumentary about an openly gay, fashion-obsessed Austrian weirdo seriously

underperformed, bringing in less than half of what Borat did and undoubtedly slowing

down Baron Cohen's rise to fame.

Breakthrough dramatic role

In 2010, it was announced that Baron Cohen was considering starring as singer Freddie

Mercury — to whom he certainly bears a resemblance — in a biopic about the late Queen frontman.

Baron Cohen was actively involved in trying to get the movie off the ground, even consulting

major directors like David Fincher and Tom Hooper.

But in 2013, he decided to pull out of the project — and the film still hasn't been

made.

The actor claims he left the project because the surviving members of Queen wanted the

movie to be a relatively tame biopic about the entire band.

On the other hand, Baron Cohen wanted it to be purely a Freddie Mercury movie showcasing

the late rock star's wild life.

Queen guitarist Brian May offered a different opinion on the issue, suggesting that Baron

Cohen would have be a distraction, as he doubted that the larger-than-life actor could actually

disappear into the role and do it justice.

What's next?

Well, we likely haven't heard the last of Sacha Baron Cohen and it wouldn't be surprising

if he's working on another big character right now.

From what we do know, Cohen has two main projects in works the for the next few years.

The first is a timely bit of satire called Greed, in which he plays a money-mad, financial

law-skirting billionaire.

The other is a big-budget film adaptation of Mandrake the Magician, in which he'll star

as the title character, a heroic master of illusion.

Seems like a good fit…

You Don't Need a Lot of Money or Business Classes to Start a Company | Sara Blakely - Duration: 4:32.

So, as an entrepreneur I'm such an advocate for everyone to think like an entrepreneur.

Whether you want to start your own business or not, it's incredibly helpful no matter

what.

And so thinking like an entrepreneur inside of organizations or if you are starting your

own business, I always say—I love to tell the people around me to do this: Close your

eyes and take a minute and think about how you would be doing your job if nobody showed

you how to do it.

What surfaces?

Because if you think about it we're all on autopilot.

We're doing things the way either someone else showed us how to do it or we saw and

learned from watching.

And real change only happens when you do it different than everybody else.

So all the time I put myself through mental exercises where I'm like, "Wait a minute,

I know everybody's been doing it this way for a really long time, but is that the best

way?"

And I just want to see what comes up.

I also come across ideas and inventions by going throughout my day looking at objects

and saying, "Now how could that be better?"

And why did the person who first created gum—gum to me is so fascinating.

As someone who started a brand with $5000, had to get an idea out there that didn't already

exist (the footless pantyhose) I love to think about people who first introduced things to

society, and I think about the guy who did gum.

Can you imagine!

I thought I had it tough, this guy is walking around going, "You just chew it, you just

put this wad in your mouth…" and people are probably like, "And then what?"

"Don't swallow it, you just chew it."

Like that's a pretty hard sell at first.

And I think that gum had no flavor in it when it first came out, so that's even crazier

to me.

But everything from the pencil to the fork to the chair we sit in to the car that we

drive: somebody originally had a thought and brought it forward it to society.

So get off autopilot, look at everything every object in your life, the way that you do things;

when you get up and brush your teeth, is there a better way to brush your teeth?

Is it the right way to be doing it?

And see what comes.

I started Spanx with $5000 in savings from selling fax machines door to door in Clearwater

Florida for seven years.

And I started it out of the back of my apartment.

I had never taken a business class.

I had never worked in fashion or retail, but I was determined to make this one particular

undergarment for myself and women that filled a much needed void in a fashion.

And it was the most challenging the first two years to get it made, because no one took

me seriously.

I heard the word no for two solid years.

I actually was calling all the hosiery manufacturing plants and I ended up taking a week off of

work and drove around North Carolina in person begging these people to help make my prototype

and my idea.

And so there were many, many times in those first two years: When I wrote my own patent,

I went to Barnes & Noble and bought a book on patents and trademarks.

I created the packaging on my friend's computer after work.

I thought of the name Spanx sitting in traffic in Atlanta and went home and trademarked it

with my credit card for $150.

But all of this time I was doing it I wasn't sharing it with anybody.

None of my friends or family knew what my idea was, and that was really important to

my journey because I didn't want to share the idea just for validation, because I wanted

to make sure that I spent anytime I had pursuing it instead of defending it and explaining

it.

And I think so often, so many times, people have an amazing idea, I mean you have a million

dollar or a billion dollar idea in your life, and the first thing you want to do is turn

to your right or left at work and tell a coworker, tell your friend, tell your husband, your

wife and out of love and concern you get a lot of feedback that stops that idea right

in its moment that it happened.

But for me because I wasn't using a support system in those times that I had doubt, I

ended up really—I listened to a lot of inspirational and motivational lectures.

And so I would second-guess myself, I'd put those tapes in, I'd drive around, I'd

have to give myself pep talks.

I mean it was a real back and forth for me to keep believing in myself when no one else

was.

Slip inside the eye of your mind

Don't you know you might find

A better place to play

You said that you've never been

All the things that you've seen

Gonna fade away

Gonna start a revolution from my bed

'Cause you said the brains I had went to my head

Step outside, summertime's in bloom

Stand up beside the fireplace

Take that look from off your face

Cause you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

So Sally can wait

She knows it's too late

As we're walking on by

My soul slides away

But don't look back in anger

I heard you say

Take me to the place where you go

Where nobody knows

If it's night or day.

Please don't put your life in the hands

Of a Rock 'n Roll band

And throw it all away

So I start a revolution from my bed

'Cause you said the brains I had went to my head

Step outside cause summertime's in bloom

Stand up beside the fireplace

Take that look from off your face

Cause you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

So Sally can wait

She knows it's too late

and I'm walking on by.

My soul slides away

But don't look back in anger

I heard you say

So Sally can wait

She knows it's too late

and I'm walking on by

My soul slides away

But don't look back in anger

I heard you say

So Sally can wait

She knows it's too late

And I walked along by

My soul slides away

But don't look back in anger

Don't look back in anger

I heard you say

Better than her any day

Car News In the Rearview - Jeep and Ram Don't Need FCA - Duration: 3:15.

Hello, my name is Daniel Susco, and welcome back to In the Rearview, where I am your automotive

news archaeologist, bringing back the top stories of the last week for you to see.

Let's start with some high-level stories.

First, Carlos Ghosn was recently asked if Mitsubishi would be joining in on the Nissan-Renault

business with a full-scale merger.

In short, the answer was no.

Apparently, the Alliance wants Mitsubishi to stand on its own legs, no matter how wobbly

they have been since the company's emissions cheating scandal.

Speaking of high-level CEOs, Fiat-Chrysler's Sergio Marchionne started a maelstrom of rumors

this past week when an analyst asked him whether Jeep and Ram would be able to stand up on

their own, separate from the rest of FCA.

He simply answered the question "Yes."

Since then, everyone has freaked out about whether or not Jeep and Ram are going to be

kicked out on their own, but since that would just leave Dodge, Chrysler, and Fiat crouched

alone, their hands held out over the sad flame of their much less successful inventories.

In advertising news, Honda seems to have forgotten one of the cardinal rules of marketing: any

attempt by a large company to look hip will ultimately just look goofy.

Honda has put together a hip-hop music video for distracted driving month, trying to promote

the concept of having a "DT," or designated texter, to use your phone for you while you

are driving.

While it's great that Honda is trying to make something happen to help with distracted

driving, I really doubt that they are going to convince many young people to hand their

phones over to their passenger to send text messages and post to social media for them.

I know my friends wouldn't resist the chance to change the language on my phone to Korean.

Speaking of silliness, I love learning the history of words, and now I know why we call

terrible, fatally broken cars "lemons."

It turns out it's because old timey slang had some sort of grudge against citrus.

Who knew, right?

Then, in green car news, BMW and the National Parks have introduced the first in a series

of electric car charging stations to be put up in national parks across the nation.

Fittingly, they launched the project at Thomas Edison National Historical Park.

I suppose the irony, there, is that the chargers all use alternating current, which was technology

championed by Edison's rivals.

Speaking of BMW, the company has apparently decided that dual-clutch transmissions, which

are currently the standard among higher-end sports cars, are so passé.

All the cool car companies, apparently, will soon be using advanced versions of conventional

automatic transmissions, which have closed the gap in their abilities since the early

days of double-clutches.

Then, I say something odd this past week: the 2018 Ford Mustang's Start/Stop Button

will slowly pulse red, at a rate of 30 flashes per minute.

If that sounds oddly specific, that's because it is pulsing red and at that rate specifically

because that is exactly how the rate at which a real Mustang pumps blood while at rest.

So, is it an appealing feature that shows the spirit of the Mustang's namesake, or

a kinda-creepy thing that makes you think about horse blood?

You decide.

Fittingly, our final story is about the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, because

as each of the government agencies are being handed new administrators, the NHTSA is still

sitting in the back of the waiting room, idly twiddling its thumbs and paging through an

old copy of US Weekly.

This has safety advocates worried, since the new administration has a habit of choosing

candidates that remove regulations, which in the agency that is in charge of vehicular

safety could prove problematic, especially if president Trump chooses an industry CEO,

as safety advocates fear.

Why Don't Oxidation Ditches Work as Well in the Winter? - Duration: 1:36.

My name is Randy McIff and I'm the director of Water and Wastewater Treatment with ATS.

I have been a water treater for over 30 years and I've worked in the industrial and municipal

sides of business, both pre and post-treatment.

I've been asked why oxidation ditches don't work as well in the winter.

Oxidation ditches are a type of wastewater treatment plant.

Sometimes they're called the racetrack, sometimes just oxidation ditch, but they basically have

in the ditch oxic zones and anoxic zones.

The reason they don't work as well in the winter is because the water gets cold, and

when it gets cold the bugs slow down and typically there's not enough loading in the plant for

the bugs to thrive, and they're not going to thrive under the low temperature.

There are ways to augment this.

If you'll talk to us, talk to us about your specifics, we can help you make your oxidation

ditch work the way it was designed.
