I am Dea Bajrami and im 14 years old.
It was an unbelievable night, It was a dream that became true after all these years, to finally be part of a concert with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Kosovo.
Whenever I want to feel better I listen to happy music, for example in the morning I listen to "Morning Mood" by Edvard Grieg.
When I am feeling bad I listen to another piece that is more calming, slower and I listen to it based on what I feel at that moment.
My name is Sara Rodiqi, I'm 20 years old and I study architecture at the Vienna's Technical University.
I listen to everything except metal and "tallava" music.
I am Baton Gjakova, I study Architecture in UBT and I am 22 years old.
I generally listen to Hip Hop mostly, but other genres as well, electro sometimes, reggae... I am not specific in genres.
I am Tanush Hysa, I am 19 years old and I study Archeology in UP.
Death and Black Metal.
My name is Blerim Avdili. I'm 23 years old. I work as a graphic designer and I'm also an MC.
Alternative hip hop.
I am Bajram Hyseni. Street Ubertin Zhegrova, Taukbahce, Prishtine.
From the genres of music, my favorite is folklore, and songs with çifteli.
I am Ramiz Shabani from Prishtina. I work.. I have a store and I do different kinds of jobs.
I don't not listen to music. I only listen to 'ilahija'(muslim songs). They are created from sincere people who direct you towards Allah's path.
My name is Zane Xhuli, I am a student of the University of Music. I'm 19 years old. Obviously I'm engaged in music!
Which instrument do you play? - The Bassoon.
Yes here since they play the genre I like. So yes, this is the place I've been hanging out for 5 years, so I would say yes!
Well, in most of the cases yes, even though sometimes when there's no other choice for example, when I'm imposed to go in a place where I don't like the music, it is not such a big problem for me.
If we are talking about coffees or bars, then of course yes,
usually my friends are an indicator of the choice, rather than than the music.
It might, but not so much since I listen to music when I am alone.
I mostly go to Muslim weddings where there are ilahijas. With my Muslim brothers and friends. In general, things like that.
Depends! Only when there are specific cases when I don't like the music at all, then I don't go!
No.
Almost yes.
For example, during the day, I go to places that are more laid back where the music is more jazzy or pop or something similiar.
While at night, most of the time to techno parties.
Music connected me more with old friends, but not that much with my new friends.
My closest friends listen to different kinds of music, but mostly to metal. Is othe kind of music we talk about usually.
Also in this place where I hang out, which I mentioned earlier, stay people that listen to this genre the most, therefore you get familiar with different kinds of people, but almost always the same genre.
I wouldn't say so… I dont know, no!
Yes and no.. Through music I made a lot of new friends it's not necessary that I must have the same taste of music with a person, to have them in my friends group.
It depends more on the person, rather than the music.
My friends listen more to Pop, R&B, Rock… They do not listen to classical music that much.
Lately, there's been a wave of electronic and psychedelic music that has spread out everywhere! Especially in our society..
As for the kind of hip hop that I listen to, my friends don't really listen to it. Whereas, regarding to the electronic kinds of music, they all listen to them.
Actually, just lately in Vienna, most of the friends I have made recently, I've met at a party in Grelle.
It was the first week I got out and they just approached us and we started hanging out together and realized we had similar interests so we bonded right away. Now we're really good friends.
No because I listen to different genres of music, and I think it's very much of a cliché to link the genre of music with your appearance
For my opinion it's not at all original, it is more how you feel, what to wear, or how to appear as a person, not the music.
It doesn't have any influence in my appearance at all. However, it influences my religious faith. It turns a person to the way of Allah and it increases their life span.
No! Nah it doesn't have an impact on me in such a way!
[Sarcastically] In general, in makeup yes but I would say so to the other things mentioned! Hahaha..
In the way I represent myself maybe yes, and the way I dress but not on the other things, I dont belive so.
Yes! I like music that doesn't show off and is independent of material things but that talks about real human experiences.
Simple things! I assume that's also how I also present myself physically, I don't have anything sparkly.
Yes it affects it.
It depends on where you're going, for example if you're going too work you have to dress differently,
but on a daily basis, a bit more in the Hip Hop style.
Music's not the only factor that affects this, there are also others, but it surely is one of them.
It affects the way I dress, depending to where I'm going, my style changes, how much I put make up and stuff like that.
Yes yes music has an effect! Previously it used to have an effect!
How for example?
Depending on the wish of the individual, it affected the clothes of people.
You would get ready for a special kind of event, and you would dress adequately to the music.
Let me explain that a bit! Bands T-shirts, in most cases black, so yes, my appearance is influenced quite much.
Earlier they listened to rock, pop more, but now since I listen more to classical music they have started to listen to classical music together with me.
Earlier in life they had an influence, but now they don't!
My parents listen to rock, my mom doesn't listen to a lot of music but my dad listens to a lot of music!
Did he always listen to rock?
He always listend to rock but he also likes different genres.
For a family that has been more educated, they listened to rock which is a rarely thing in Kosovo.
My parents listen to classic rock. My mom and dad belonged to the period of rockers.
And yes, it has influenced me because I grew up listening to their Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd albums,
which made me like that type of music, up to this day. All of my friends have a similar taste of music as I, right now we're all more into techno.
My family listens to old classical songs, and because of them I listened to some of those songs, so I would say that they had an influence.
Friends.. Yes, yes, because we exchanged songs with each other and the influence was there!
My mother is the one that has more of the same preferences as me, whereas others not as much. My father listen to traditional music with Ciftelia.
My little brother listen to rap, hip hop, that's famous nowadays. My big brother listens to a different kind of music but more modern.
My mom is the only one that listens more artistic music. And it isn't that my family affected my music preferences,on the contraty, more from my friends.
Surprisingly, I lately found out that my mom used to listen the same music as I do now, and it isn't that she presented her favorite genre to me, but i found out by chance.
Yes. While growing up, my brother was always making music. We had a studio at our place where he recorded his music, hip hop as well.
All around the world the youth want to have an idol, they all want to be related, no one wants to be an outsider at that age.
So, they all listen to a sort of mainstream music, which has a big influence! That mainstream is show-offy, sending standards of what you should buy, how you should behave with your girlfriend. 77 00:16:47,110 --> 00:16:59,050 They give some sort of foundations in life that I dont believe are healthy for us and our minds. That's how it affects the youth!
They also listen to Adem Ramadani the most.
That means that in general, your whole family has the same style of music?
Yes, in general the whole family.
My family members listen to, for example, Nexhmije Pagarusha and all of those..
Not me!
Do your friends listen to that?
No I don't think so.
Each of us has his/her own taste in music. For example the descendants like the music that they make nowadays,
whereas my wife and I like the old traditional music. Such as the favorable music of Nexhmije Pagarusha.
I have always listened to ilahijas the most.
I don't know if it has affected my personality, but when I was younger I used to listen to a lot of pop, like Rihanna, Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls..
Growing up, in the 8th, 9th grade I had a short rock and metal phase, then, ever since I've been evolving and changing.
Right now, I'm listening mostly to techno and rap but that may change as well. A lot of it depends on my mood.
It didn't change that much, but not my personality. Maybe in the past it inspired me but not anymore.
Yes, my music style changed a lot, when I was little, I used to listen to more 'trendy' music that were at that time.
Through time it changed I lot! I started listening to more old songs, more classical music, trying to fit more with my profession.
And of course that it affected my personality, especially classical music, because I study it in more details.
And, it makes you change your opinion for life!
I wouldn't say it influenced my personality, but I'm a big fan of Hip Hop, and old school Hip Hop in general, which I listen to for a long time and it never gets old for me!
First i listend to rock, then later on I started listening to the music i'm listening now, always going to harsher and harsher sounds.
The melody and instrumental more.
I think the melody, but I'm not sure. Probably when they're put together, but I can't exactly pick one over the other.
Melody I would say, even though metal has deep lyrics that include many social aspects to which I pay a attention to. But when you look at the instruments which is a lot more complicated than the music nowadays, and much faster, that's what attracts me more in that genre!
I don't know. Both! They're equal.
When it comes to hip hop it's the lyrics! In the music that I make and like, it's the lyrics.
I've noticed that people like a lot of bass, energy, an up-beat melody.
I like to connect the message that I have, with that kind of music.
The melody, but of course, I also like the lyircs, but without lyrics the melody is nothing.
Both have their thing… [Jokingly] Melody without lyrics is like lyrics without melody!
There've been instances when I listened to classical music and it has helped my concentration. It depends from my mood as well,
sometimes rap helps me concentrate sometimes I'm irritated by it or any type of noise for that matter. So, I don't think that it has a specific influence over me.
On the contrary, for example if I study, I listen to classical music such as Chopin. It differs since a more rhythmic song, fastens your heart rate and makes you focus on something more active.
so the music I listen to does not help me concentrate, so if I choose to listen to music while studying, I choose classical music.
When I study I go to YouTube and write Songs to Study and I find some songs kinda with piano, kinda with water..
I wouldn't say it helps me concentrate, maybe it helps me when I take a break and I play some music, otherwise, silence is the one that helps me the most
It often happened to me to be asked by people, why do you listen to music while you're styding? Yes I listen to music it helps me concentrate. I usually listen to instrumentals.
