Handmade "Stairs Xylophone" auto-plays Japanese children's song "Doggy cop and lost kitty" - Duration: 5:03.

My handmade "stairs xylophone" became 3.6 m long. It's too big for a room of my house !

Please listen to the sound of the xylophone at first.

This is a concatenated movie of twice plays.

The structure is very simple. Wooden sound bars are on the steps made of plywood.

The dimension of one step : height 4 mm ,width 50 mm

The width of a stairs is 170 mm.

Soft sponge tape is pasted on both side of the bar, so that the sound can be made on everywhere.

The dimension of bar : thickness 15 mm, width 45 mm.

The rest (no sound note) is made of styrene foam.

Shorten the bar by cutting it, if you want higher pitch.

If you need lower pitch, shave the side of the bar.

Please listen to the sound of such made xylophone again.

The stairs turn back every 90 cm.

There is a hole at the end of one stairs.

A wooden ball drops down through the hole, and start the rolling again on the next stairs.
