Now, is it the most fun and exciting thing in the world no.
But does that mean or allow you not to go to Mass.
The Mass is the celebration of the Eucharist.
As Catholics, we believe the bread the wine is the truly Jesus's body and blood.
We believe that whenever the priest puts his hands over the bread and the wine, it truly
becomes Jesus's body and blood and that's called the transsubstantiation.
So I once heard a story that a Protestant pastor asked a Catholic priest Do you really
believe the bread and wine is truly Jesus's body and blood and not just a symbol.
The Catholic priest smiled and nodded and said Absolutely I do.
The Protestant pastor took a step back and was in disbelief.
He gathered his thoughts and said to the Catholic priest If I was a Catholic and if I truly
believed, I would crawl through shattered glass on my knees to receive it everyday.
And you don't want to go to Mass because it's boring... really?
So Mass may not be the most fun thing in the world but it's the celebration of the Eucharist.
We truly receive Jesus through the bread and wine.
So keep that in mind next Sunday when you're debating whether or not to go to Mass.
