I'm Jill Bearup and this episode of BrightSci
is about the Lady Gaga of the
caterpillar world. Have you ever heard of
the gum leaf skeletoniser? If you live
in its native Australia or New Zealand
then maybe you have, but seeing as
statistically speaking most of you are
American
maybe not. It's a kind of moth and as
it's incredibly metal name suggests
- We're Gum Leaf Skeletonizer, but we might
change our name - the larvae's collective
appetite for gum trees is pretty
formidable. Uraba lugens larvae are
odd 'uns
by caterpillar standards. I mean they've
been nicknamed both unicorn caterpillars
and Mad Hatterpillars. And why the Alice
in Wonderland pun, you ask? Because the
caterpillar after the fourth molt or so
when it sheds its exoskeleton doesn't
get rid of the head part like it does
the rest. Nope, it just stays attached and
since the caterpillars can molt up to 13
times before they spin themselves
cocoons the gum leaf skeletoniser
caterpillar can end up with quite a
collection of little - well I hesitate to
call them skulls but the invertebrate
exoskeletal equivalent - kinda stuck to
their heads in a sort of horn formation
Come on look at that headgear and tell
me Lady Gaga isn't making notes for her next
Super Bowl performance. Why do they do
this? Well research by Petah Low at the
University of Sydney suggests that they
use their quasi-hat horns to fend off
attacks. Also that the horn confuses
predators leading them to attack the
horn rather than the caterpillar's
vulnerable body. And both of these things
mean that in an encounter with a
predator it takes longer for the
caterpillar to be killed.
Petah Low also performed an experiment
where she put 600 of these caterpillars
in groups of ten onto different
gum tree leaves. One set of groups all had
their horns removed; one set of groups
all had their horns intact; and the third
group had a mix of both. After eight days
the survival rate for the caterpillars
across all groups was about one in six
because it's a hard life out there, and
it turned out that groups of
caterpillars who all had head shells
didn't perform significantly better than
groups of caterpillars who didn't. But in a
mixed group the caterpillars with horns
were twice as likely to survive. So the
lesson we can take here is that if
you're more fabulous than your neighbor
you're more likely to live. Regardless of
the evolutionary reasoning for it, you
rock on with your crown of skulls uraba
lugens. Other caterpillars wish they were as
cool as you.

what's left to say - Duration: 7:46.
Hi, I'm no one in particular and I like to argue a lot.
There's nothing more entertaining and exciting than building a little log cabin out of facts
and ideas before lobbing it haphazardly at someone in the vague hopes it might leave
an impression.
It's so satisfying to put together that effective gotcha that leaves someone to either
concede a point or to opt out of the discussion, even if it rarely actually changes someone's
mind.
I spent a semester in college as the token atheist in a group of young earth creationists.
I was dragged there by someone who wanted help to "totally pwn them", but I stayed
because I felt that there was something to be gained from debate even if you couldn't
convince someone of something.
I felt that in a good debate, both parties come away with a better understanding of the
other's viewpoint, but more importantly, a better understanding of their own.
In defending my position, I learned something about myself and what I care about.
We all parted amicably, almost as friends, because even though we hadn't fundamentally
changed each other's minds, we'd treated each other with respect and dignity.
It was fun.
The internet is a place of frothful argumentation and it feels like it should be home for someone
like me, but, well…
In 2014 when the dark corners of the internet bubbled over and otherwise rational sounding
people started spouting white supremacist dogwhistles and gleefully trying to destroy
people's lives, I just couldn't make my brain believe what was happening.
I reacted to it the way I reacted to everything, by trying to argue and debate so that I could
understand where these people were coming from.
Every single time, whether I was making convincing points or not, whether I was being conciliatory
or not, the discussion would end with an individual sullenly disappearing, followed shortly by
a volley of anonymous threats and attempts to sabotage my life and the lives of my friends
and family.
The last argument I ever tried to have was during the 2016 presidential election.
I was arguing with a bunch of "maga" types and in a desperate bid to find some common
ground, I resorted to the one thing I assumed everyone would agree on.
I asked "can we at least agree that nazis are bad" No.
No we couldn't agree on that.
This is where we are right now; where the internet is.
We've reached a point where no discussion can exist.
Either these people didn't understand history and didn't know that Nazis, given power,
would kill me and millions of others for the crime of being born, or worse, they know exactly
who they are and what they're saying.
I spent a lot of time talking to people from imageboards like 4chan, because I wanted to
understand what they see in a toxic place like that.
One of the common points they would often bring up was this concept of the "marketplace
of ideas".
A place where due to anonymity, your ideas would be pitted against other ideas in some
kind of arena of the mind.
In the real world, they would say, someone would unfairly advantage their idea combatant
through the power of who you are and what kinds of social power you wield.
Someone with an M.D. would have a better time expressing an idea involving medicine than
someone who isn't, even if that idea might not be a "correct" one.
That this is a central pillar of their beliefs is demonstrated by their love of the concept
of "memes".
The term, coined by biologist and notorious internet troll Richard Dawkins, applied genetic
theory to the concept of ideas.
A "meme" is a sort of "idea lifeform", which lives inside our minds before we propagate
it by using words to create a facsimile of that idea in whoever we're talking to.
Of course, because language in imperfect, the idea we create in someone else will have
subtle changes from the idea that lives in our heads, which allows for a sort of natural
selection to take place.
The memes that are effective at motivating us to share them, that are easy to share,
and that motivate others to listen and internalize them have an advantage over those that don't,
which causes the weaker ones to die out.
After all, there is a limited time in our lives to spread and listen to ideas.
In chanboards and to a lesser extent in all social media, people step outside of themselves
to be swept along in the process of memetic evolution.
Ideas and images which are cool, funny, or interesting rise to the surface and are iterated
on, creating art and humor and thought and the end result filters out to the rest of
the internet for everyone to benefit from.
How DOES polar bear know what apples is??
This is, in the kindest possible light, why people from these imageboard communities hate
"identity politics" as much as they do.
By bringing in who you are and what you look like and anything else about your existence,
you are unfairly advantaging your idea and interfering with the "natural selection"
that would have otherwise taken place.
If you have a big twitter following, or you're particularly good looking, or have a convincing
sounding voice, by wielding those things, you're "admitting" that your idea couldn't
cut it in the DEATH PIT.
And like, cool!
I get it.
On it's surface, that sounds like an extremely worthwhile experiment to have.
What happens if you just let ideas duke it out without any people or faces attached?
What happens?
Fucking nazis happen, that's what.
That's what grew in that fucking petri dish.
White supremacy and other kinds of bigotry are all really good at spreading themselves.
Discussions happen, debates happen, and at the end of the day new nazis get made.
They gather up, make a convincing sounding argument, then use whatever violence they
can plausibly get away with to silence and disempower anyone with a dissenting point
of view.
The "meme" of white supremacy includes the idea that violence and harm are justified
in the interest of spreading itself, and the idea that words are only as useful as the
power they give you to accomplish your objectives.
Because of this, any debate one might have with them plays directly into their hands.
They shout that it's foolish of you to fear bodily harm from them while they DM you with
what they'd do to you if they could.
So where does that leave someone like me?
How do you have a discussion once things have gone this far?
How do you talk about anything when you know there is this idea parasite out there, spreading
itself, which contains the idea that people like me should be killed?
When people in positions of critical power in our government are already working on making
changes to our laws that would kill millions of people?
How can anyone talk about video games, or theology, or I don't know, food, when the
value of your life and existence are in question?
What kind of logic or rationality can you offer someone who already wants you dead?
What kind of thought experiment can you weave for someone with a gun against your head and
who doesn't actually want or need anything that you can give them?
I'd love to have debates, I really would.
I'd love to talk about fun things and thought experiments and share memes and just be here
on youtube having a fun time.
Yet, I always end up here, saying the same things over and over, because this overshadows
everything else.
There are nazis, they're getting more powerful, and as we've seen in world history and recently
in the chanboards, words and ideas alone aren't enough to stop them.
Debate isn't enough to stop them.
Brute force is the only thing that's ever done the trick, and even then, only after
incalculable harm was done.
I'm just some random obnoxious trans girl who likes to argue.
I have no place in a fight that can't be won with words and mild trolling, and I can't
ignore that this is where we are now.
What's even left to say?
I wish I could have found this place before it came to this.
It would have been fun.

What is Ramadan? - Duration: 4:36.
Once a year, Muslims around the world observe Ramadan.
What is Ramadan?
What are the traditions associated with it?
Ramadan is the ninth month on the Islamic calendar.
According to the Quran (the sacred text of the Islam), Muhammad first received his revelations
from Allah during the month of Ramadan.
For this reason, Ramadan is regarded as the holiest month of the year.
The primary custom associated with Ramadan is fasting (going without food or drink).
Muslims are required to fast each day from sunrise to sunset.
Meals may be eaten before sunrise each day, and after sunset each evening.
The pre-dawn meal is known as the suhoor, while the post sunset meal is known as the
iftar.
Muslims are also supposed to refrain from smoking or engaging in other activities that
might be harmful to the body.
Swearing and arguing is also discouraged during this holy month.
Muslims are also supposed to spend additional time praying, and giving to charities during
Ramadan.
Followers of Islam are also encouraged to read the Quran during Ramadan.
Although it is not required, some even choose to read the entire Quran over the course of
the month.
The iftar meal (after sunset) varies greatly by region.
However, in the Middle East, the most common items eaten might be roast chicken, lamb kebabs,
grilled vegetables, salads, and various types of rich desserts.
Water and fruit juices are the most common beverages.
This meal is considered a time of fellowship with friends and family.
Some iftar gatherings can become quite large, with more than 100 people attending the same
meal.
There are some who are exempt from the fasting process.
The elderly, small children, women who are pregnant, or those who are ill or injured
may all be exempt from the daily fasting.
However, in the case of pregnant women, or those who are ill or injured, they will be
expected to make up their fasting time once they are physically capable.
The first day of Ramadan is known as Hilal, which means "crescent moon".
The arrival of the crescent moon (which usually occurs a day or two after a new moon) marks
the beginning of Ramadan.
The most important night of Ramadan is Laylat al-Qadr.
It is believed by Muslims that this is the first night that Muhammad received revelations
from Allah, in which the Quran was revealed to him.
It is believed that the Laylat al-Qadr (which means "the night of power") occurred on
either the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th night of Ramadan.
The final night of Ramadan is known as Eid al-Fitr.
This means that a new crescent moon has been sighted, thus concluding the period of fasting.
If weather prevents a new crescent moon from being spotted, then the fasting will conclude
after a period of 30 days.
On the modern, western calendar, Ramadan is not a specific time of year.
Because of the variations between the two calendars, Ramadan can fall at any time of
the year.
For example, in the early 1990s, Ramadan was in February, but by the late 1990s, Ramadan
was being celebrated in December.
In the late 2000s, Ramadan was in August or September.
In 2015, Ramadan occurred in June.

What's Inside My #Purse? | Jenny Lorenzo - Duration: 3:45.
Ah, Instagram.
Instagram, Instagram.
I remember when Instagram first started.
And now it's a massive app.
It's a wonderful app.
You know?
Just another way to update people on what you're up to.
Woo!
Like what you're eating.
What you're doing.
How great your life is.
And, hey!
I gotta use it.
It's a necessary evil.
So I think a lot of us.
A lot of us utilize Instagram as a means to pass the time.
When we're trying to avoid talking to someone we don't wanna talk to, when we're pooping,
or when we're, I dunno, sitting at the dentist office.
So recently it hit me.
You know?
There's certain Instagram accounts or even some friends of mine who post photos, right,
of the contents inside their bag or purse or suit case.
And it's, it's gorgeous.
It looks like it should belong in a magazine, right?
Like Cosmo or whatever shit you people are reading nowadays.
Everything's laid out neatly, super cute.
"Traveling light today!"
You know, like, "what I've packed for the zoo!"
You know, it's always this cute little bag from, like, ModCloth with a little, like,
vintage Polaroid.
You know, like...
Some sunglasses.
Which now people are calling "sunnies".
And I'm not sure how I feel about that yet.
Now before you get upset, okay, I understand.
Sunnies is a term that people in Australia and in the UK call sunglasses.
That's fine!
That's great.
I think the reason why I personally do not like "sunnies" is because in high school,
a lot of girls in my class referred to their cell phones as "cellies".
"Oh my God, give me your number!
I'll put it in my cellie".
No.
Just...
I always envied those photos because I'm like, shit...what's wrong with me?
My purse is always full of shit.
I'm a disorganized mess.
I'll tell you that much.
I'm surprised I've gotten this far in life.
I don't have a lot of purses.
I don't really care for them.
I've been using the same purse for about three years now.
So I thought I would do a realistic representation of what's inside my bag.
And I think a lot of people's bags.
Alright?
Let's keep it real now.
Not everyone in the world is that neat and pristine and cute all the time.
I'm a little scared.
Because I don't remember what's in there.
Here we go!
So, yeah, that's what's in my purse.
So what do you guys have in your bags?
Come on don't be shy.
I showed you mine so you better show me yours.
And this isn't just for the ladies.
I want the guys to show me what they've got going on in their bags or murses or fanny
packs.
Whatever it is you use to store your junk.
I'm not referring to your... okay.

What Is BREAKAGE | How Do I PREVENT It ? // LATENIGHTTALKS - Duration: 10:00.
Hey guys, it's Cam and today I wanted to
try something a little bit different as
you can see
I got a little setup going on like nighttime
I got my sweats and stuff on, it's actually
almost 12 o'clock so we're gonna call this...
Late Night Talks with Cam
*applause*
Basically I'm just going to be giving you guys
information that I wouldn't do in like a
regular video, like, it's going to be all
our information, no tutorial, just all
information but it's like good
information so, I suggest that you watch all
the way through and if you want to skip to
any parts or rewind to any parts I'll put
times, somewhere on the screen
right now
so today I'm going to be talking
about breakage and how to avoid it and
what the causes are and types of breakages
and all of that so let's get started
but first of all just a little
disclaimer I'll put it somewhere right
here yeah alright so, let's get started now forreal.
Breakage is defined as the act of
breaking, something that has been broken
or lost or damage as a result of
breaking but to define the word without
using the word within the definition we
have to define the word break so break
is defined as separation into parts i.e
discontinuity so basically if my hand
was your scalp and all of this was your
hair shaft
that's breakage
So, what are different types of breakage the most familiar one
and most known is probably split ends
I'll put a picture up of split ends, examples of
different types of split end, basically your
hair starts to break apart, like this
or like this and eventually if it's not cut
off it starts to split up the hair shaft
that weakens the hair shaft and causes
breakage
another type of breakage is tri-
trichorrhexis nodosa, um it's like little gaps
so this is the hole looks like a gap
it's like a holes within your hair shaft
or like little gaps within your hair shaft and
they definitely weaken your hair shaft
and it makes it really easy for your hair to
just, snap off
Another one is trichoclasis
and that's like, it's like a split end but
within the hair shaft, instead of at the
end, so it's like, it's like a crack in
your hair or like a split in your hair
shaft and another type of hair damage, hair
breakage that basically is the root of a
lot of breakage it's like mechanical
breakage or self-imposed breakage
Why does break it to occur?
Breakage usually
is rooted from a lack of moisture or
mechanical damage like I just stated
previously
The first why or the first cause
that I have on my list is lack of
moisture um lack of moisture is really a
big problem and it causes a lot of
breakage dry brittle hair is more
prone to breakage than moisturized
hair so it's very important to keep your
hair moisturized, it's more important to keep
your hair moisturized, if you have curly
curly or kinky hair, the kinkier your
hair is the more moisture you need. Another
cause of breakage is illness or medical
conditions if you think that you're
seeing a lot of breakage because of
medical reasons please consult with a
doctor
another reason for breakage is poor
dieting or deficiencies and by
deficiencies I mean like vitamin
deficiencies or not having enough protein in
your diet or not drinking enough water or
it's not eating healthy altogether.
How they be in the commercials ?
Got milk? Oh, wait
Another reason for breakage is stress
stress can cause a lot of problems to
your body and especially to your hair
it can cause breakage, it can cause hair loss altogether
Another cause of breakage is
chemical processing or over processing
like bleaching or dying your hair and
the last one I have on my list is basically
what I said before, um, mechanical damage
like aggressive grooming or styling and
also the accessories that you put in
your hair like elastics or rubber bands
or anything like that
so it's important not to confuse hair
shedding with hair breakage, hair
shedding is natural you can shed up to
50 to 100 hairs a day although you
probably won't see them much like I
usually don't see them much but
but hair breakage is usually not natural and it's
usually self-imposed but it's also
important to know the difference between
hair shedding and hair loss, if you guys
need to do a video on that let me know
down below
So,
Why does all this matter
um, so breakage and length retention
are negatively correlated, meaning the
more breakage you have the less length you'll
see or the less length you'll retain
so people who say that a lot but I don't
know if people get it all the time that
it's said so I'm going to try like to draw
it out a little bit and hopefully it
makes sense if it didn't already before
if it did already make sense, I hope you
enjoy my drawing
now that we know what breakage is,
different types of breakages why it's
important and what causes it
let's talk about how to avoid it and
it's kind of a long list, so I'm just
read straight off my phone, trying to
remember this, cancelled
the first one
be gentle when detangling, be gentle when you're touching
your hair in general it doesn't have to be
detangling, when you're styling it
anything in general because, your hair
is not afraid to just pop off, make sure
you're using the proper tools, I always say
that a denman brush is not a detangling
brush it is a styling brush however
nobody can tell you what to do so and
always make sure that you keep your nails
clean cut and smooth
keep your hair
moisturized and again the tighter your
hair texture the more moisture you need
avoid high tension and high stress
styles, definitely a victim of this
I have experienced a lot of breakage because of
this, but I'm doing better with it I
will admit that, I am doing better with
it, so like like tight ponytails, like a
couple months ago I used to use these to
make my ponytails instead of the
scrunchies that I use now you can see in
my, um, curly hair routine which ones I
use now um but it really does make a
difference like the more your hair is
pulling the more likely they can just
pop try to keep it at a minimum also
styling your hair while wet, I'm another
victim of that I still do it to this day
I'ma be transparent it's a hard habit to
break, another thing to avoid is
cotton pillowcases and towels they can snag
your hair and dry them out so that's two
things possible that you need to avoid
another important thing is to dust or
trim your ends when necessary especially
if you see like single strand knots or
all the stuff that I talked about split
ends, not even gonna try to pronounce it
again I had one time, I'm not going to do
it again, if it's at the bottom it's
important to cut it off, if you see it in
length of your hair you may not want to
cut it off you may want to I don't know
I need to trim mine, I'm definitely in need for a trim
having a healthy routine and a proper
balance of moisture and protein like if
you need more protein make sure that
you're balancing out
moisture, if you need more moisture, make sure you're
balancing out the protein, another
important thing, um, chemical processing
and harsh chemicals so like sulfate
shampoos I'm not going to say stay away
from them because I definitely do you use
sulfate shampoos sometimes you need like
a good clean especially when you have
like really dirty hair when using a lot
of product sometimes you do need a good
clean it's not good to use a sulfate
shampoo every time you wash your hair
unless you're only washing your hair like
once a month but if you're using a
sulfate shampoo every week your hair is
going to get dry and dryness leads to
breakage as well as bleaching and perming
I'm not going to say not to do it, well
I'm not going to encourage you to do it
but I'm not going to say not to do it
just do it the correct way and make sure
that you're maintaining it after it's done, um, and
lastly protect your hair from things
that can weaken, so like direct
heat can definitely weaken your hair and
um, UV radiation can definitely weaken your hair
as well there are several oils with
natural SPF and I will list those
somewhere here,
however some of these
oils only protect against UVA radiation
but not UVB radiation, UVA radiation is
responsible for hair color changes so
if I was to put my ends up to my roots my
ends would look like brown but my roots would
look black because of the sun's
radiation, UVB radiation is responsible
for a hair protein loss especially
keratin just be mindful of all these
oils and what they actually protect
against I think the one that protects
against both of them the most is red
raspberry oil if I remember correctly so yeah
I think that's pretty much the end, it's important to
remember that prevention is key because
once your hair is broken it's not much
you can do to repair it, like I don't
think anything you can do to repair to
or fix it, so prevention is really the
key to everything and it's also
important to remember that you can't
avoid breakage but you
reduce and minimize it
I hope this was
informative, if you want to see more videos

MELANIA ON FIRE! Once Reporters Saw What Was Her Shoulder In This Pic They Fainted - Duration: 14:47.
MELANIA ON FIRE!
Once Reporters Saw What Was Her Shoulder In This Pic They Fainted
Melania's first outing in Sicily shocked everyone.
First Lady Melania Trump had a jacket by Dolce & Gabbana that costs $51,000.
Mrs. Trump carried a matching clutch and showed up all the other spouses of G7 leaders I'm
sure.
Watch her emerge.
Don't you just love Melania?
She is so classy.
The color bursts on her jacket are phenomenal and show how much class and color that Melania
Trump brings to the White House.
Describe our beautiful first lady in two words below.
I don't know why the liberal media appears to hate her so much.
She embodies class.
*** And loves the troops!
President Trump is going to smile when he sees how many people love his wife in this
country.
Share this everywhere if you are proud to have Melania Trump as
your
first lady.
Thanks.

What Is Money Karma? - Duration: 8:52.
What is money karma?
I have mentioned it many times that the biggest problem on planet Earth for all human beings,
whether poor or rich, is having financial resources.
Everybody is worried about it.
But I'm more concerned about people who will simply worry about it and can't find
any answer.
And what can — how can I help them?
What is money Karma?
Money Karma is an inability to conceive of money generation.
No matter what you do, you are unable to think that you would be able to make a certain dollar
figure.
It's simply is not reverberating with your own consciousness.
It's impossible for you to think that $5,000 dollars or $10,000 dollars or $100,000 dollars,
depending on where you are, to conceive of it.
The moment you are able to conceive of it, then it is easy to manifest.
So it's, philosophically speaking, it's a mental inability to conceive of generating
that dollar figure.
There is a mental fog, so to say.
Your mind is fogged up whenever you think about it.
'I can't really figure out how this much money can come to me.'
How can you lift this mental fog?
That's the major question.
is the 'mental fog' that I talked about is pervasive, meaning that it occupies all
through the day meaning that you'll be thinking about so many unimportant things, but you'll
be unable to think about, or focus on, money generation.
That's why the fog, I said, is pervasive all through the day.
And that needs to be addressed too.
So, the first one [question] is, 'How to lift the mental fog?'
Definitely, you should continue to focus attention and scratch your Brain and on a human level.
And this you should do for both, for the mental fog that disallows you to think about money
generation of a certain amount.
That's one.
And then the pervasive mental fog that remains all through the day.
So you have to have to think about revenue generation and then try to open up your mind.
So, one thing that can happen when you do it consistently, it will certainly break the
ice.
The fog will be removed.
So, that's what you can do on your own.
But there will be limited success because, number one, you'll get frustrated during
that exercise.
And also, you'll be in some sort of conscious or unconscious denial of it, because it hurts
you so much that you don't even want to think about it.
So, that's about the human handling of your money Karma.
But I am here to talk about more what the Divine can do.
And that's why I came up with the Shreem Brzee mantra and how can it help.
You know, you know the story of how the king wanted to give —Vishwamitra wanted to give
a great life for his citizens and then he just went into a 1,500 years of meditation
and came up with these sounds.
In the tour that I'm going to be undertaking soon, I think in July, I think, after Guru
Purnima, I will make, I will myself physically present the Shreem Brzee of how it is going
to open up and lift open up your mind and lift the fog.
Because these sounds, like Shreem is a feminine sound of the Mother Goddess that is creative
in nature.
And it has the ability to create by virtue of its own sound structure.
And it will increase your conceptual ability.
You have to conceive in order to deliver.
And the Brzee part is one that will remove your Karma and also [Brzee] will aide your
birthing process.
The birthing process is very important because you have to give birth to the new money that
you don't have it now.
So, these are more intellectual aspects of Shreem Brzee, but on an experience level you
will see the fog being lifted.
And more importantly, it is the participation of the Divine to help you with that.
That's why I am very, very concerned and committed to the Shreem Brzee beyond or besides
all other techniques that I teach.
God Bless.
And then, you will be, you know, say given these Initiations and Anointing during the
Guru Purnima on July 8th or so, and also on my Tour.
And then San Francisco, it will be next week, I believe, where Paru will make the presentation. God Bless.

'Wonder Woman': What the Critics Are Saying - Duration: 5:14.
'Wonder Woman': What the Critics Are Saying
The first Wonder Woman reviews are in and it seems director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot have lassoed the critics into loving DC Entertainments origin story of the Amazonian warrior princess.
As the review embargo broke on Monday night, the movie crept towards a 97% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and the general consensus seemed to be that Wonder Woman was a fun, romantic and enjoyable movie, perhaps even the best entry into the DC Extended Universe so far.
Moreover, many critics felt the movie had the added luck of great timing, tapping into the zeitgeist to push it beyond mere entertainment.
THRs Sheri Linden was more restrained in her praise, noting that the lightness of Wonder Woman is a stark counterpoint to the Sturm und Drang of Batman v.
Superman. Linden felt that the film had to check off too many of the action-fantasy requisites but overall as an origin story, with its direct and relatively uncluttered trajectory, offers a welcome change of pace from a superhero realm that's often overloaded with interconnections and cross-references..
Entertainment Weeklys Chris Nashawaty was effusive, suggesting that Jenkins film was in the top tier of DC superhero movies that includes Christopher Nolans The Dark Knight trilogy.
Wonder Woman is smart, slick, and satisfying in all of the ways superhero films ought to be, writes Nashawaty adding: How deliciously ironic that in a genre where the boys seem to have all the fun, a female hero and a female director are the ones to show the fellas how it's done..
IGNs Joshua Yehl also gave Wonder Woman a resounding thumbs up, describing the film as leaps and bounds above the other three entries in the DCEU. Yehl wrote the film will come as a relief to DC and Warner Bros.
and break their stink streak after Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.
Yehl added: Wonder Woman proves to be an emotionally resonate film that won me over with its refreshing take on the superhero formula that featured something we haven't seen in the DCEU yet: a true, bona fide hero..
USA Todays Kelly Lawler gave Wonder Woman 3. 5 stars out of 4 describing it as a genuinely surprising film that plays with genre and throws out the now very tired superhero movie formula.
The Associated Press Lindsey Bahr noted the socio-political and social media baggage that surrounds Wonder Woman but ultimately the film would live or die as entertainment.
Bahr wrote: Yet, like the heroine at its center, Wonder Woman the movie rises with powerful grace above the noise. Its not perfect, but its often good, sometimes great and exceptionally re-watchable..
Indiewires Kate Erbland was also gushing in her praise and felt Wonder Woman was an origin story that functions beautifully on its own while also bolstering excitement for the franchises future.
Uproxxs Mike Ryan was a huge fan and compared the film favorably with the best of Marvels offerings.
Ryan wrote: Wonder Woman has a vibe reminiscent of Captain America: The First Avenger (a shield-welding superhero in the middle of a World War) meets the first Thor (a powerful god has to learn to fit in with humans and is a fish out of water).
The backdrop of war is grim, but the characters remain true and finally here's a DC movie with real warmth and humor – mostly in the form of banter between Gadot and Pine..
There were some dissenting voices, however, most notably The Guardians Steve Rose who titled his Wonder Woman review with the snarky line glass ceiling still intact as Gal Gadot reduced to weaponised Smurfette.
Rose wrote that [what] promised to be a glass-ceiling-smashing blockbuster actually looks more like a future camp classic.

What's next? with english subtittles - Duration: 10:18.
Hello everybody! Hope you're doing great!
Today it's a goodbye video
Don't worry, it's a little goodbye
If you follow me on facebook, instagram...you may know that my last video will be online on June,26
No videos during the summer
I do a little break
First, i wanted to thank you!
You are following me since 2 years now...yes, my you tube channel is open since 2 years....
You are many to comment, follow, and suscribe....
It's really nice from you! I want to say a big thanks!
That channel takes to me a lot of time! i have a lot of messages about the items, the collection....
It's not easy for me, but i will answer to all of you!
To sum up, i've opened my channel in 2015
My first video was about the Smile 12", to know if you have a real or a fake one
And then for the 1rst season, i've made one video / weeks
Around 40 videos for the season 1
For the season 2, i've made less videos
Around 30 videos that season
But i've tried to make better videos, better concepts
I had the chance to go to New york, and make a little report about it
I'm trying to make interviews, it's hard! But i had the chance to Have Steven Whitsitt few months ago
And also the new concept video: Hector Vs Ebay. There will be an episode 2 soon...
And i will do more episodes next year about ebay, to show you the bad auctions, and also the good ones!
So, for the season 3, i will do less videos
I have the chance to have a friend who gave to me a software for making videos
"Hello my friend!"
It's almost a professional software
So, i can make now some good videos, with specials effects...chromatics green backgrounds...
I have lots of ideas for the new season!!
But, those videos will take more time to make....
That's why for the new season, i will make 2 videos / month
And i prefer to take my time, to make quality
If i do more, i think the videos will be poor, so i prefer to take my time, to give to you the best !
And it's just for passion!!
A little precision...my last video on June 26 will be maybe not the last of the season
Yes, soon, a new ultimate collector book will be out
I can't tell you more about it now, it's a little early....
So, if that book is coming soon, i will do for you a video about it.To present the project, the concept, and where you will find it...
And i want to make a special thank to my friend Sebastian
We worked very hard on that project this year
It's not easy to have Hector by mail everyday...SO thank you so much!
I want also to say hello to my friend Davy
He have a very nice you tube channel called "Salut les Fans"
You should take a look at his videos, they are really nice
And if i dont make videos that summer, maybe he will do some to look at!
For September... you may know about it
There will be Kingvention in London, on September 30
I will be there, and i will be very happy to see you there!
There will be guests
Steven Whitsitt, the photographer of the Smile single cover
He have a lot of stories to tell so it will be so nice
There will be also the Dancer Eddie Garcia
And there will be a master class with Eddie Garcia on the friday just before Kingvention
I will be there to, t make for you a litte report about it
And there will be also Dorian Holey, one of the chorist during Mj's tours
If i have one advise for you, go to Kingvention! Don't miss it!
From Paris, the train is not so expansive
You can find tickets, go and back, for 100euros
It's a really nice event, so go to it!
There will be a 2nd event on November, 18, in Lille
My friend Brice Najar, author of 3 books, is the organizator
The name of the event is "Mj Music Day"
It will be "like" Kingvention....there will be guests to!
The program looks nice!
I will be there !
For the guest, there will ne Brad Buxer, and Michael Prince...2 musicians who worked close with mj
They will talk about their experience with Mj
It's really a good thing to have that kind of event in France
For all of you who can't be in London in september, you have no excuses to not be in Lille in November!
And to finnish, i want to talk about a new thing in the Hector Barjot's life!
I've just created a Tipeee account
It's to have support from my community
On my you tube channel, i've stop the advertisings...it was ridiculous
And to get 10/15euros at the end of the year....it's better for you to look the videos without advertising
But, some firends of mine, and youtuber, told me that i should open a tipeee account....
So, with that acccount, you can send to me some money, if you want to support me
You can give what you want ...1euro; 10euros....100 euro, even 1000 if you want! lol
You can give once, or every months if you prefer....
Why i'm doing that?
It's not to make money on my videos, it's not my goal
My goal is to continue to share with you my passion, to make for you more interestings videos
But, since few months, i'm trying to developp the concept of my channel
I go everywhere to make videos about others collections....
So i take my car...it cost money....
But sadly, i have a life, i can't spend to much money just for making videos
Yes, nobody forced me to make videos, but i would like to continue to make for you nice reports and nice videos
And why not, make reports in others country, like i've done in New York
But that cost money
I would like also buy some new stuff, to make better quality videos
Buy a microphone
Remember, when i was at Kingvention last year, the sound was very bad...
So, a microphone would be nice...but i can't affort it
It's just a passion for me, i can't spend to much money just for you tube, hope you understand it
So, that's ok for me! I have nothing to lose! If some you you send me some money, i will do the best to make my you tube better! And if not, that's ok, i will just continue my little videos without means
But, if you are generous...all will be possible, i will make betters videos, develop new concetps....
There will be "tips" for the one who will send to me money
Maybe you will see my videos before the other ones
Maybe i will open a new facebook just for the ones who will send money, to be more close with you...make more facebook lives...
It's normal, if you really support me, i will do things for you too!
To finnish, i really want to thank you for all your support!
Make a break that summer, take care of you!
But don't forget the collection!!!
Remember! One day you will get them all!!!!
Bye!
