Yeah, mom, I'll be fine.
Just remember, don't open up the door for anyone. We're not expecting any visitors.
I'll be fine.
Don't invite any friends over.
Okay.
And remember to keep your phone on you the whole time just in case we might call.
Yes, father.
And don't forget to take your contacts out before bed.
Mm-hmm.
All right, bye..
Bye!
Literally, whatever.
Meet me in 15 minutes. My parents are finally gone.
On my way!
Oh, shoot, my phone's almost dead.
Where's that stupid charger??
I hate taking out these contacts.
*phone dings*
I'm pulling into the driveway.
Nancy, is that you?
Oh god, it's dead!
Contact lenses, contact lenses. Oh my god. Where are they?
She's not picking up. I'm calling the police.
Oh, thank god he's outside. I've gotta hide!
You.. should.. have locked.. the doors.
This is the police! Ma'am, is everything okay?
No, there's been a murder! My friend Nancy... she's dead!
Your parents called us when you didn't answer any of their calls. We saw Nancy outside. Thank god we got here in time!
Have you seen the murderer?
Yeah, I saw him through the hall, out the window.
Are you sure this is the window where you saw them?
It was blurry, but I'm pretty sure.
Ma'am, are you aware that this is a mirror?
What??

like and subscribe because I think you're really gonna like what we've
decided to do here and the pets we've used. So again, like and subscribe. Watch the rest of the
video it's great!
I am going to a animal show where we had to show off our costumes, our animals where
our animals they show off their costumes and we have to match the animals costumes.
Because my goat is going as The Joker and then I am obviously dressed up as
Harley Quinn. What about Kealyn? I'm going as Colonel Sanders for Kentucky Fried Chicken.
And what is your animal dear? A chicken... (laughter)
This is Miss Amy Strawn with the Redfield Friends of the Animals. She is
hosting this pet costume that we just won (by the way). Amy, tell us about your rescue.
About the rescue. Well we have been in the works for going on six years now. We
help our local animal shelter go from a high kill to almost a no-kill shelter
over those six years. And every year we try to do fundraisers and different things
in the community to spread awareness about spaying and neutering and just
helping educate about adoption and loving animals.
So why the costume contest? Because it's Halloween and who doesn't like dressed
up animals right? That's true. Great point! What else you got for us Amy?

This Is Why You Don't See Many Quiznos Around Anymore - Duration: 4:49.It wasn't long ago that Quiznos was a pretty big deal.
But it turns out those tasty toasted rolls weren't enough to keep them on the top of
the food chain when it comes to fast food sub shops.
They've closed more than 90 percent of their stores in the last decade, and here's why.
No chain survives without the support of their franchisees, but Quiznos corporate has made
it incredibly difficult for stores to turn a profit problems that start with their supply
chain.
Most fast food franchises negotiate with vendors who then supply locations directly and at
a reduced cost, since they're buying in bulk.
But Quiznos corporate buys all supplies from vendors, then turns around and sells them
to franchisees.
While most restaurants ideally operate with a food cost of 30 percent, Quiznos forces
their franchisees to start with a cost of up to 39 percent.
That means a Quiznos location needs to sell a lot more than a comparable Subway before
they even break even.
That backwards business plan has ended up breaking the franchise owners they should
have been helping, and it's cost them.
In 2006, around 10,000 franchise owners took corporate to court with a class action lawsuit.
According to Forbes, they claimed corporate was essentially making them what's termed
"captive customers" and forced them to buy supplies at grossly inflated prices that made
it nearly impossible for them to be successful.
Quiznos argued they were simply passing market costs on down the line, but they were forced
to settle the lawsuit and pay out a whopping $206 million to their franchisees.
And that was just the start.
Other franchisees sued separately, and at the same time Quiznos is fighting on that
front, 6,900 franchisees in Colorado, Illinois, and Wisconsin filed a similar suit.
They won $95 million, with a huge chunk of that going to franchisees who paid their fees
but were never allowed to even open a restaurant, because of ongoing location disputes.
The entire point of an advertising campaign is to get people to buy a product, not make
them undeniably uncomfortable.
Quiznos missed that day in advertising school, and Business Insider called the creepy spongmonkeys
from Quiznos one of The 10 Worst Ad Campaigns Of All Time.
"The Quiznos subs.
We'd eat them raw but eating raw subs is barbaric."
Customers agreed.
The spongmonkeys were all over Quiznos advertising from February 2004 until August of the same
year, and if it feels like you were tortured by them for a lot longer than that, well,
that just shows how much damage they did.
They were so maligned that some stores took to posting signage apologizing for them, and
in the first week, Quiznos' Denver headquarters got around 30,000 phone calls from people
wondering what the heck was going on.
"I thought we were all good people here."
That's not the only time Quiznos missed big time with a marketing campaign, and ended
up pushing customers away.
In 2009, their uncomfortable attempt at making a sexually aggressive toaster oven hilarious
once again fell short, and did more harm than good.
"Scott…I want you to do something."
"Not doing that again.
I got burned."
"We both enjoyed that"
In 2009, Quiznos tried to get some serious goodwill with coupons for free sandwiches,
but it wasn't long before customers were getting denied their subs.
Some locations didn't honor the coupons at all, others only accepted them if customers
bought something else, and needless to say, people were not happy.
Consumerist found that franchisees had a very good reason for not accepting the coupons:
they weren't being compensated by corporate, and instead were expected to eat the cost
of the "free" subs.
A few days after the promotion started, an internal memo suggested corporate was going
to start helping with the costs of the promotion, and at the time, they said they'd already
had nearly 200,000 coupons printed.
That's a ton of subs that could cripple already struggling franchises, and while Quiznos promised
to make it right, that's not the kind of slap in the face that people forget.
The very heart of Quiznos' problems has been the relationship between corporate offices
and their franchisees.
The two sides formed into very distinct groups that drove lawsuits forward thanks to the
work of franchise owner Bhupinder Baber, whose tragic story led to chain-wide recognition
of owners' problems.
Baber owned two locations in Long Beach, California, and when Quiznos allowed another franchisee
to open nearby, his sales plummeted.
Getting no response from the corporate offices who had promised him no one would be opening
nearby, he organized other struggling franchisees into the Quiznos Franchisee Association.
That was in 2004, and according to the Long Beach Post, that was when Quiznos ended Baber's
franchisee agreement.
By 2005, Baber was slated to go to the Denver headquarters to argue his claims.
Fearing the trip was going to cost him too much and he would lose what little he had , he walked into a Quiznos bathroom and killed himself.
He left behind a note calling for an investigation into Quiznos and their business practices,
and that note was released to the public.
The Post says the nightmarish tangle of lawsuits Quiznos and their franchisees were embroiled
in for years has roots in Baber's franchisee organization, and that's the sort of thing
no one can ignore.

I read all 337 books in Skyrim so you don't have to - Duration: 14:00.Ah, the Elder Scrolls, games chock-full of lore.
And Skyrim is no different.
Hidden amongst the draugr and dragons is a plethora of books full of very important
and incredibly niche details.
But with all the spellcasting and shouting you must do as dragonborn, who really has
the time to read all those books.
I DO.
APPARENTLY.
I read every book in Skyrim in order to answer the eternal question, "Should you read every
book in Skyrim?"
And I'm here to give you my top five recommendations of books, here in my SKYRIM BOOK REPORT.
Skyrim book report!
How many books are there, really, in Skyrim?
After all, there are only eight people credited as writers on Skyrim.
Those eight people are responsible for every quest, every voice acting line, every response
you can give to an NPC.
How much time do they have to write all those other books?
A lot!
Because they wrote this many books.
This many books.
*pained grin*
Or at least they wrote most of them because a few of them have been grandfathered in from
other Elder Scrolls games.
Before I get into the nitty gritty, let me explain my process on how I did this Skyrim
Book Report.
I printed out every book in Skryim, and then I spent multiple eight-hour days reading EVERY.
SINGLE.
BOOK.
I whittled it down to 338 books because I didn't include journals or diaries.
Everyone knows that self-published doesn't count.
In total, that's 571 pages, five and a half point font, over three hundred and sixteen
THOUSAND words.
I had two reactions to this.
My first reaction was, "Wow."
This is an incredible amount of world building.
To write 300,000 words that could essentially be skipped over while still having the full
Skyrim experience, it's amazing, and it's a level of world building that could only
exist in an interactive medium.
And for that, I commend you, Bethesda.
My second reaction to this,
was WHAT THE FUCK.
HEY TODD?
WHAT THE FU-
In my Skyrim Book Report, I will be discussing:
*smack*
That's a smash cut.
Hopefully.
If I do my editing correctly.
338 books.
Uh, actually, 337, I just realized, um, over here, Songs of Skyrim, I put both of them
in there, but there's a revised edition.
I lied.
It's just 337 books now.
Obviously, I don't have time to synopsize all of these, and believe me, you wouldn't
want to watch that even if I could.
I've split them into categories to make this a little bit easier.
First up, historical books!
These book titles you see rolling up the screen are all biographies or histories.
What I categorized as histories was anything that had big historical dates in them, explanatory
histories, or pretty much anything that was boring.
History's so BORING.
UGHHHH.
J.R.R. Tolkien
*kiss*
did the world a disservice by making every single fantasy writer think
that they need to chronicle every goddamn minute of their world in order for it to be
legitimate.
I don't give two shits about a king who lost a war 700 years ago.
*snoring noises* Get OUTTA here!
Some of these biographies are actually pretty interesting.
But a lot of them are written like The Chronicles of Nchuleft.
I didn't tab it out 'cause it's a shitty story.
"It happened in Second Planting (P.D. 1220) that Lord Ihlendam, on a journey in the Western
Uplands, came to Nchuleft; and Protector Anchard and General Rkungthunch met him there, and
Dalen-Zanchu also came to the meeting.
They talked together long by themselves; but this only was known of their business, that
they were to be friends of each other.
They parted, and each went home to his own colony."
RIVETING.
Ugh.
History's so boring.
I'm done with this.
Next category: Instructional books!
These are all field guides or basic recipes about how to make good armor or what flowers
go in which potions.
At best, they are in-fiction instructional books.
At worst, they are so obviously trying to get you to go do specific things.
Pulls you right out of the fiction!
C'mon man.
That's all I'm gonna say about that.
Everyone's favorite: the academic books.
Fun fact about academic books that I learned in college
is that no one has ever enjoyed writing or reading an academic paper.
WHY'D YOU PUT IT IN A VIDEO GAME.
Mythicaaaaal stories.
It's kind of weird to differentiate things between myth and history, especially in this
world where you can talk to demon princes.
I split these two up because these are very boring and these are slightly more palatable.
They're more like creation myths, or they're just like random stories that are fun to read,
so they're getting closer to good fiction.
The poetic and dramatic.
Everyone knows that poetry and theatre are meant to be seen and not read.
And you have NO IDEA how much it pains me that I do not have time to do staged readings
of all these.
Oh my GOD I would have loved that.
We have "eh."
What genre is "eh?"
It's the catchall.
Um, these tend to be accounts, kind of like medieval fantasy op-eds.
So I…
I just put 'em here.
EH!
We're done with these now, so…
Get outta here!
Finally, we have 59 books that I would consider good fiction.
GooooOOOD fiction.
What I did here is I gave myself three criteria about what would make good fiction in the
realm of Skyrim.
Number one, does it help build the world around us?
Number two, does it give us an interesting or different perspective on that world?
And number three, is it good?
Now you might say, "Brian, what gives you the right to say what is good fiction?"
I READ ALL 338 YA DINGUS.
BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY THAT THESE WERE THE ONLY GOOD ONES.
THIS IS ALL I'M QUALIFIED TO DO NOW.
I need a drink.
*deep breath*
Okay!
There's still 59 of these, so I obviously can't summarize all of them, but I have
left five off, and they are my top five books of Skyrim.
So we're gonna talk about those.
Number five, Advances in Lockpicking.
Now Advances in Lockpicking is actually an instructional book.
But I think it does more than just the other instructional books, where you open them up
and suddenly you're better at lockpicking, because it's written by a thief in a very
interesting voice.
There's a great ending line for this book: "Some thieves can't read.
If you can't read, get someone to read this book to you.
It will make more sense then."
That's great.
I think that's a much more fun way than saying, "Here is how you pick a lock.
This is what this set of armor is."
Better than instructional.
Just good fiction.
Number four, Palla.
In a world where crazy creatures exist, how do you make fiction that is compelling that
people can just kind of experience in their own life.
Palla is a necromantic romantic book.
It's a story about a man who sees this beautiful statue of a woman fighting a beast and falls
instantly in love with this woman.
Turns out, she's dead!
From fighting that beast.
He decides to get into necromancy to bring her back from the dead.
I kind of don't want to ruin the surprise for you.
It manages to tell an interesting story while also introducing these ideas of monsters and
necromancy.
It's kind of weird, but it's very well written.
I'm gonna go ahead and put up three and two.
Why do I put up the Argonian Account and Feyfolken at the same time?
Turns out, it's written by the same fictional author: WAUGHIN JARTH.
This one's for you, Waughin!
I'm a big Jarth head!
He's not actually in the story at all, I couldn't find any instance of, like, him
as an NPC.
So I really hope he's in the next one.
Because I want to meet Waughin.
I just want to meet Waughin Jarth.
These ones were not actually written specifically for Skyrim.
They were grandfathered in.
But they do an incredible job of building the world around you.
The Argonian Account is actually the second story in a series all about Decumus Scotti.
This is kind of like the Hobbit of Tamriel, where we're taking this unassuming character
and thrusting them into this completely foreign, amazing landscape, except instead of a hobbit,
it is a midlevel bureaucrat.
It's full of screwball comedy and wonderful worldbuilding about the Black Marsh which
is where all the Argonians live.
You have to fast travel by being eaten alive by a worm.
That's great.
I want to see that whenever we go to the Black Marsh.
It's so flavorful, and that's why I'm a Jarth head.
Feyfolken.
It's a story about a scribe who's terrible at his job but gets this enchanted quill that
forces him to be amazing.
Sends himself into this madness, and he kills himself at the end of the book, spoiler alert.
But that's not what this story is really about.
It's an interesting fiction that teaches you about different Daedric princes, and which
ones could have caused this specific enchantment on the quill.
That's good worldbuilding!
I am interested in the story!
You told me something that I can learn about the world.
I had a good time reading Feyfolken!
Jarth, ya did it again!
And that leaves us with the number one book.
It's not The Lusty Argonian Maid.
I feel like I should broach this subject.
I'll tell you why I didn't include it in my good fiction list,
and it's not because I'm a prude, who doesn't love a little erotic lizard fiction?
*OOH COME ON BABY*
The reason I didn't include The Lusty Argonian Maid as one of the best
pieces of fiction is because it's SEVEN ACTS LONG.
Seven acts?
There is no way you can manage to maintain that level of erotic tension for seven acts.
That's like five and a half hours!
As a person who has done one or two plays in my life, that's just unfeasible.
Okay?
I'd like to see them try.
~I would like to see them try~
*OOH COME ON BABY*
Before I go to number one, I gotta go
get a flu shot.
This is not a joke.
It's important to get your flu shot.
Alright, I'm back.
The number one piece of fiction in Skyrim, not Waughin Jarth, I'm sorry.
It's Beggar, Thief, Warrior, King.
It's four books, actually.
But it's all part of Eslaf Erol's story.
It is completely fiction even within the fiction of Skyrim.
The reason I put it first is because it's the only book that was legitimately hilarious.
I straight up chortled.
*chortle*
That's what I did.
In real life.
That's amazing.
The writing style of these four books is just naturally hilarious.
There are so many bland, cookie-cutter stories in Skyrim that follow the same set up, twist, punchline.
This doesn't have that.
It's just a good story.
One of these writers was just flexing, and I think that's wonderful that a writer had
a chance to—within the fiction of Skyrim—write something that's just naturally funny.
You should all go home, onto your computers, boot up Skyrim, find these four books, and
then read them, in order.
It's worth it!
That's my quest, for you in Skyrim.
300 gold points.
That's it!
That's it, that's all of the books.
So like, what did I learn from reading all 338 books of Skyrim?
Surprisingly, a whole lot.
Like, there are two main takeaways that I pulled from this.
Number one, this is a masterclass on how to write effective flavor text.
Between all of these, historical, instructional, the good fiction, and, you know, the iffy fiction.
This is a way to learn what to do and what not to do.
Obviously, not everyone is going to connect with certain types of flavor text.
I'm sure there's a lot of people that disagree with me and think that the historical
is the most important flavor text.
And you know what?
They are valid.
And they're wrong.
And they always seem to find my comment sections.
When you take something good like Feyfolken which teaches you about the Daedric princes,
but in an interesting way, it really shines in comparison to the three and a half million
biographies of Barenziah.
You don't even see them in Skyrim.
I don't care about Barenziah.
IT'S BORIIIIIII-
But not like Feyfolken!
That's really interesting and effective.
Also it just teaches you about all these wonderful forms of fiction.
If you're a fiction teacher, like, teach your kids with Skyrim!
TEACH THE KIDS.
WITH SKYRIM.
I got a creative writing degree.
That's all I have to say about that.
Second takeaway, this is a wonderful teaching device about unreliable narrators.
So many of these histories are negating other ones.
This is a wonderful way of showing people you need to read everything if you're going
to get the whole picture.
I read everything.
I am the keeper of the picture.
That's every book in Skyrim.
So it's time for us to revisit that ever present question, "Should you read every
book in Skyrim?"
NO!
WHAT?
HOW COULD YOU WATCH THIS WHOLE 10+ MINUTE VIDEO AND THINK THAT I WOULD SAY ANYTH- WHAT?
NO!
I BORE THIS BURDEN!
FOR YOU!
DON'T READ THEM!
NO!
Please don't read them all.
DON'T READ THEM!
You can read the top five, that's fine.
GRRRRR.
HOW DARE YOU JETTISON MY GIFT!
DON'T READ THEM!
NOOOOOOOOOOO

When God's Ways Don't Make Sense – Philippians 1:12-19 - Duration: 38:55.I'll ask you to stand you can follow along as I read if not that's all right
where you're seated we'll begin in verse 12 where the Apostle Paul by the Spirit
of God is writing to the church in Philippi and says now I want you to know
brothers and sisters that what has happened to me has actually served to
advance the gospel as a result it has become clear throughout the whole palace
guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ and because of my
chains verse 14 most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the
Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear it is true verse
15 that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry but others out of goodwill
the latter do so out of love knowing that I am put here for the defense of
the gospel the former preached Christ out of selfish ambition not sincerely
supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I'm in chains but what does
it matter the important thing is that in every way whether from false motives or
true Christ is preached and because of this I rejoice yes and I will continue
to rejoice for I know and I want to draw your attention to this word know we're
going to be talking about this word know notice he doesn't say I hope I pray I
think no I know I know that through your prayers and God's provision and I
love this of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out
for my deliverance I know it let's pray if you would join with me
loving Heavenly Father thank you so much for this portion that we have here
before us this morning in your Word thank you for the Apostle Paul thank you
for inspiring him by the Holy Spirit to write this letter so that we almost
2,000 years later would be here in this Your church as your people being
ministered to and blessed by these words here in Your word Lord that's why we're
here so will You minister to us and speak into our lives we're asking You
for this in Jesus name amen you can be seated thank you
I want to talk with you today about those times in our lives when God's ways
just don't seem to make any sense at all and the reason is is because certainly
this was the case concerning the Philippians but thankfully the Apostle
Paul by the Holy Spirit will rise from the pages of our Bibles to teach us
about those times when everything in our lives contradicts the will of God and
the goodness of God He's going to rise from the pages of Scripture and teach us what
God's purpose is in our lives in those difficult circumstances in our lives
especially when they just don't make any sense I think it'd be a gross
understatement to say that Paul circumstances were difficult at the time
that he wrote this to the church in Philippi I think we sometimes are
dismissive for lack of a better word when it comes to epistles like this one
to the Philippians you have to keep in mind that he's incarcerated
he's not just imprisoned he is literally chained to a Roman guard day and night
every day every night and these Roman guards it's believed would change shifts
every four to six hours now you'll forgive me I don't want to get too
graphic but just think about that for a moment when he would need to use the
bathroom there's a there's a Roman guard right there think about that
and don't imagine for a moment that to be in prison in that day was anything
like being imprisoned today there's no gyms or you know rec rooms or ping pong
tables or pool tables or foosball tables foosballs my we have a foosball table
upstairs I'll just mention that in Jesus name if anybody wants to but I digress
but as he's writing this letter he does so in chains chained to a Roman guard I
think we need to understand that backstory as we get into this letter as
we will today it's important to understand that for the Christians in
Philippi Paul being in prison again and even remaining in prison still made
absolutely no sense to them and the reason it made no sense to them is
because when Paul and Silas were there with the Philippians and imprisoned
there they witnessed miraculously God freeing them from that prison but yet
Paul once again sits in a prison only this time God isn't freeing him and
quite frankly they're a little bit confused I don't understand why God is
not freeing you again Paul which is why by the way he writes to them and
explains to them that it is God's way it is God's will that he remain in chains
you might say those Roman guards who we're going to talk about in a little bit
they're chained to the Apostle Paul can you imagine you might say he had a
rather captive audience and that's why it is that God had him there as
difficult as it was and even though it didn't make any sense he was there for a
purpose and for a reason but if this weren't bad enough Paul is seemingly
answering a question that was being asked about those who were in Philippi
that were apparently taking an advantage of the fact that Paul was in prison
again so much so that we're told they deliberately stirred up trouble for Paul
because they fancied themselves as competing with Paul I say competing
because Paul describes what they were doing as being out of selfish ambition
out of envy out of rivalry and I'll add self-promotion oh Paul's in prison we
could take advantage of that and he can't do anything about it you know
it's sad this is textbook in the Christian Church today and I'm sad to
say that as a pastor I've seen this
while on the mainland the first church that I pastored this was rampant pastors
slandering other pastors to further their own reputation and to fill their
own pews by slandering another that's what they were doing to Paul well
one might think that all that was happening to Paul and against Paul that
he would just be so discouraged even given over to despair but that's not
Paul it's the opposite that's true and I love this in verse 18 Paul says that in
spite of this and even because of this he's going to rejoice how can he have so
much joy and he even repeats it twice saying he will continue to rejoice now
this begs the question of how is that even possible
and maybe more importantly the question needs to be asked is that even possible
for me personally I mean it's doubtless that I will ever be in a situation that
could be compared to what Paul was in and yet he has this joy and he's
rejoicing in spite of it I want that do you want that I gotta
believe that you do well how is it possible I think of what James wrote I
should be honest and say I hate what James wrote is that bad for a pastor to
say that he I say that in a sanctified way because I always struggled with this
notion that you can consider it pure joy when you encounter various trials
because that's not my experience that's not been my response if I could be so
candid I don't consider it pure joy when I'm encountering
various trials I consider it pure hell I hope that doesn't jam your gears me
saying that and it wasn't until I realized that it wasn't just James
saying it and Paul here echoing it this is real this is being the real deal
but how oh that's where that word know comes in James says consider it pure joy
Paul would say I'm going to rejoice and again I will say I'm going to continue
to rejoice in this trial in this difficult set of circumstances that are
leaving me scratching my head I don't understand and the reason I can consider
it pure joy the reason I can rejoice is because I know what God is doing in it I
know where God is going with it that's why God has a purpose in it in spite of
the circumstances it is absolutely possible to have joy to rejoice in the
midst of it and not only that I would suggest that this is one of the main
reasons we even have the book of Philippians in our Bibles did you know
that actually Philippians is one of four books in our Bibles that are known as
the prison epistles they are Ephesians we just finished
Philippians we're in now the next book Colossians
and then the letter to Philemon they were all written while Paul was in
prison why do I point that out because were it not for Paul being in prison
it's unlikely that we would even have these letters and if we didn't have
these letters we wouldn't have the encouragement from these letters I think
about the Book of Psalms which we're studying through on Thursday nights and
I think about David and were it not for the difficult circumstances in David's
life we would not have most of those Psalms had it not been for that and I
don't want to sound melodramatic when I say this but I can't imagine my life
without those Psalms and how God has used those Psalms in my life during some very
difficult times in my life and I'm so grateful that out of that
came those Psalms I'm so grateful that out of what Paul experienced came these
letters you see it there on the screen
and we know this at least I hope we know this but were it not for the
difficult times in our lives there would not be these grand and glorious things
in our lives either glorious things come out of very difficult times
and this is exactly what happened with the Philippians it was because of Paul's
imprisonment that out of that came their encouragement they were even emboldened
which meant that and implies that prior to they were embarrassed they were
ashamed to share the Gospel but now here's Paul in prison and because of
that now they're more emboldened and that's just the beginning of what God
brought about as a result of and as the purpose for the difficult and even
confusing set of circumstances this morning I got up early as I always do on
a Sunday morning and I spent a little bit more time kind of going over this
and I noticed a few things that I didn't actually see or even list when I first
prepared the teaching notice in verse 12 where Paul tells them that all that's
happened has actually served to advance the Gospel and then in verse 13 he says
it's becoming clear throughout the whole palace guard that he's in prison for
Jesus Christ and by the way in the book of Acts we get some blanks filled in
about how they got saved because of this in verse 14 he says that out of all of
this most of the Christians have become more confident in sharing Christ and it
gets better in verses 15 through 18 where Paul says that in spite of his
name being dragged through the mud Christ is preached and he will continue
to rejoice then in verse 19 he says something very interesting he says that
and here's that word again he knows he knows through their prayers
God's provision visa vie the Holy Spirit that all this happened to him will turn
out for his deliverance and the Gospel's furtherance so here's what I did I put
together a list of everything that came as a result of what had happened all
that it had happened to Paul I came up with seven you might find more I'll just
go through them real quick all that happened just from Paul being in prison
just for this church there in Philippi and the Roman guard that he was chained
to number one it advanced the Gospel number two those in the palace guard
were getting saved number three the Christians were emboldened and confident
to fearlessly proclaim the Gospel please note that when Paul says this he says
that they were confident to preach Christ without fear which means to me
that prior they were fearful and didn't proclaim the Gospel number four those
stirring up trouble for Paul were actually preaching Christ people were
still getting saved number five Paul's rejoicing was contagious and I
use that word for a reason because is not joy contagious don't you just love
it by the way sadly this goes both ways but don't you just love it
when you're talking with a Christian that's just genuinely full of joy
doesn't that just bless your heart don't you come away with sort of you
know a joy just because it's so contagious number six
it encouraged the church to pray more and specifically as it relates to the
Holy Spirit and number seven Paul knew he would eventually be delivered and as
such the kingdom of God would be furthered that's all that came out of
this I think it would be safe to conclude that this was indeed the very
purpose that God intended would you agree
would you agree with that conclusion that this was God's purpose in allowing
Paul to remain incarcerated this is why it is that He did not free him from the
prison as He had prior He had a purpose He had a plan
yeah but pastor the circumstances were very difficult yeah but here's the thing
knowing knowing this helps explain the reason God may be allowing that
difficulty in your life maybe it's to work His good through your life as
difficult as the circumstances might be as one so aptly said it God is more
concerned with His call upon your life than He is the circumstances in your
life let me hasten to say that this in no way means that God doesn't care about
your difficult circumstances it's that God cares more about what He's working
out of your difficult circumstances and is this not that famous verse that we
love so much but don't quote the verse after it Romans 8:28
and we know know not N O, K N O W we know that in all things all things God
works for the good of those who love Him and we kind of read past this part
really quick who had been called according to His purpose in fact
actually let's be honest right come on we're in church we have to be we
actually don't even bother to quote the last part of the verse we just we just
want to quote and we know that in all things God works for the good to those
who love Him and and will quote it that way and will try to encourage other
people by saying well you know God works all things together for the good you
know sometimes that's not well I just speak for myself I when you're in the
midst of a really fiery trial it just rings hollow I know that verse I know
that but it's this dare I say qualifier there's there's two preconditions if I
can say it that way one of which is that it's those who love the Lord and
secondly and perhaps more importantly in knowing that God works all things
together for the good it's the second one that it's applicable to those who
have been called according to His purpose now shouldn't we know what God's
purpose is because that's a precondition if you will well
that's verse 29 for those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to
the image of His Son stop right there
that's the purpose what's the purpose pastor bear with me I didn't have as
much coffee as I usually do this morning so I kind of didn't quite get that
well here's the thing the purpose is to make us more like Jesus that's His
purpose that trial in your life that difficult set of circumstances that make
absolutely no sense whatsoever the purpose is to make you more like Jesus
Christ to conform you into the image of Jesus Christ that you me might be the
firstborn among many brothers and sisters that's why that's the purpose I
want to ask a closing two-part question actually I might this will be my first
closing so don't get too excited here just as the Spirit leads Lord you'll
you'll lead two-part question and I think we would all do well to consider
this especially those who are going through a very difficult trial here's
the first part what grand and glorious plan is God working for good in and
through what you're going through
here's the second part to that question is there someone in your life that God
wants to reach in and through your life and even the difficult circumstances in
your life have you ever considered that maybe what you're going through is not
so much for you but for somebody else that's hard especially when you're in a
trial I mean just this notion that I'm suffering and going through these
difficult circumstances for somebody else no it's for you to but actually
people are watching you here's what I wanted to share and actually I think the
Lord wants me to to share it at least for this service anyway when my wife and
I first came here we actually came in December of 2003 and started the church
officially in 2004 by way of a Friday night Bible study and I really prayed
about when and even if quite honestly I was to start another church and I was
just waiting on the Lord and seeking the Lord for about a year and a half and
finally the Lord just made it clear that and this was in 2005 February to be
exact I'll never forget it was our first
official Sunday morning service as Calvary Chapel Kaneohe and I'll never
forget it because our first Sunday service was on Super Bowl Sunday you
know I'm going to write a book and if I write a book it will be how not to start
a church I think I've hundred things you don't do when you you don't have your
first Sunday service on Super Bowl Sunday anyway February of 2005
shortly after that we moved out of the Aloha Pregnancy Care and Counseling
Center and rented the Kaneohe SDA Church to have our Sunday morning services
where we would actually remain for 12 years before God just miraculously gave
us this church this beautiful church so it was shortly after that that we got
pregnant and I prayed that God would give us a girl because we had two boys I
don't want any more boys I wanted a girl and so sure enough we learned that we
were going to have a girl but in the eighth month of the pregnancy we learned
that our daughter her name Noelle was diagnosed with what is known as trisomy
18 the medical community calls that incompatible with life it's a third copy
of the 18 chromosome and babies don't survive that and so they told us that
she had a 50% chance of surviving the birth and she had only a 10% chance of
seeing her first birthday so basically we were going to take her home to die it
wasn't a matter of if it was a matter of when now keep in mind I had just started
the church and I was still working full time and all of a sudden now this
happens and we were crushed devastated and the enemy was right there you're out
of God's will you should have never started this church you made the biggest
mistake of your life and of course and you've heard this in a
variety of ways God's punishing you by allowing this to happen to you
I'll tell you it was really to this day the darkest time in my life so the
church I mean at the time it was kind of interesting because when I would preach
it would echo and that's not because of the acoustics the wooden pews those of
you who remember and there was only like maybe 25 people in those pews and so it
bounced off those empty wooden pews I mean the church was just very very
small and they were watching what's the pastor going to do is this not every
parent's worst nightmare this is unthinkable the death of a child
well Noelle was born on December 28th we resuscitated her took her home and she
required round-the-clock care and I just continued keeping my hands to the plow
and she lived for four months and six days and then she died in our arms at
Kapiolani Hospital on May the sixth of 2006
during that time the Lord ministered to me that yes He was doing a deep work in
my life but He was also using this in the life of others because you see a lot
of pastors come to Hawaii right here am I Lord send me not not Zimbabwe Hawaii
when I told my Board on the mainland that I really believe God was calling me
to Oahu I had one of my elders say to me true story
I think you heard God wrong He didn't say Oahu He said Ohio you got it
wrong to which I just responded get thee behind me Satan so unbeknownst to me
this small precious church that was watching my wife and I go through this
unthinkable trial of the death of our child
were sort of actually expecting me to toss in the towel like all the other
ones and go back to the mainland and in so doing leaving a bad taste in people's
mouth and as so many had done before but we didn't kept our hands to the plow I
remember some Sunday's it was brutal I felt so sorry for the people because I
mean I'm I'm just I'm preaching but I'm dying I'm just dying inside just crushed
just crushed
but it wasn't long after that in fact 40 days 45 days after that miraculously and
that's a maybe another topic for another time but my wife said I really want to
have another girl not to replace Noelle but to heal our broken hearts over
Noelle and we can see the first time not easy for us we couldn't have children
for the first 10 years of our marriage and 45 days after we conceived and of
course my daughter Sabia is 11 years old today but the church was watching
this and when they saw us go through and God get us through that trial they
realized wow they're not going anywhere and you know what neither are we
this guy's committed and if he's going to be that committed to this church after
the death of his daughter then they committed to the church because it was
almost like a we'll wait and see the jury's out and what I didn't realize at
the time what I couldn't know at the time maybe it could be argued I should
have known at the time was that God was that was His purpose for this church I
stand before you today and I've said it before I'll say it again and I'll close
with this I cannot even imagine my life without you as a church I can't imagine
had I not gone through as painful as it was I can't imagine not going
through that that whole experience and every time I stand before you this
church as is my privilege every week I just am
reminded of the goodness of God no matter what no matter how hard if you're
going through a difficult time today I want to encourage you you just wait
you'll see what God's gonna do in and through what you're going through
let's pray Father in Heaven I thank You so much I thank You for the friend of
difficulty I thank You for the the servant of trials Lord I thank You for
what as only You can and always do bring out of those trials in our lives thank
you Lord in Jesus name Amen

(Part26) (4K) Don't buy TRD Oiled Air Filter Cleaning Kit!!! 2017 4Runner TRD PRO Cement. - Duration: 7:56.hey guys welcome back to my channel its tactical expectation and today I want to
review a genuine TRD oiled air filter cleaning kit and that's the part
number and it's a genuine the filter kit from Toyota dealer and this is the oiled
air filter that I use. It is also genuine and that is the part number okay and
this was in my car approximately three months and I always changed the air
filter every three months when I had a paper one so this time I took it out and
I used this product to clean it at this point
okay so I'll show you why this is a bad product and go with the K&N aerosol
oil kit it's better choice for you this kit is unusable okay it's just it's
a junk. I know I bought TRD product because I'm very brand loyal so that's
our actual TRD and I just wanted to use all TRD products okay and I'll show you
what this consists of. so this kit is $45 from Toyota even the you know price
tag is by Toyota so know it's genuine so anyways when you open this up you get
a receipt they don't include the instructions and one I ordered from the
web the picture that I ordered from eBay doesn't match what I ordered and I'll
show you
anyways I will open this up it comes with the two spray nozzles one is for
oil and one is for the cleaning solution and there's oil filter on the air filter
oil solution I guess there's the instructions on the back so this product
works ok you know it's you unscrew this put this in there and spray the filter
so where it soaks up entire way and you soak up the back this is the 30 side
this is the clean side because the air comes in through the bottom and it goes
up and then goes to the engine so the bottom is the 30 side top is the cleaner
side will you spray both areas and you let it sit for about 10 minutes and you
spray water through the top to the bottom so clean side to the 30 side
always so you just run low pressure water go back and forth back and forth
in dirty water and debris will fall out and basically you let this dry you know
an entire day until it's completely dry then you apply the oil okay
what you're supposed to do is plug that in and you spray it right but this
nozzle doesn't work it's so I said it on it's hard to tell but this is set on
stream but you can set on both so there is a spray right I said it I'll spray
and it shoots out stream like you're fuckin pissing okay so you cannot oil
this it doesn't spray on it on a mist form at all like zero so this product is
unusable unless you you pour it before it or you use a brush to brush it or
something but you know you can over oil these filters so I just want to test it
to see if I can use TRD products for my TRD filter but this product failed big
time okay
this is what I would
this is the eBay page and that's because this product I heard really bad reviews
on Amazon okay everybody just gives one-star to start saying this doesn't
spray oil at all so don't buy it and they all returned it so then I did some
research and this is another genuine Toyota TRD air filter cleaning kit same
part number but I thought this oil was a different method of oiling this filter
so that's why I ordered this product for $43 by the way you can order cane and
kit for about $15 will buy that okay I'm not getting sponsored by canon or
anything like that but just for you my viewers you just have to know okay I
tested it Thierry the product out and I failed
okay so just don't waste your time buying this crap I think that's why
they're phasing this out because this oil at least have to be a arrow so can
okay this viscosity is too thick for the spray nozzle to be implementing okay
this is fine this is a generic cleaner okay
and I don't have any problems there but this product is $45 come on guys so I
try to use that to see if it works but they don't have that I think this is the
updated model and this is also genuine cleaning kit so anyways thank you for
viewing and I will come back to do more videos so oiled Eric dr. versus the
paper air filter but the sound difference between the oiled air filter
and paper air filter is night and day even though I have TRD cold air intake
system okay that's why I was gonna throw this away and just just use the paper
filter so I currently have a paper filter but the sound is muted it's I
don't like it so I'm going back to this that's why I might just get the new one
and pay like eighty dollars or I might just get the cane and clean solution kit
and just apply aerosol oil to this filter and reuse it okay but anyways I
think you'll be viewing and I will be back with another video thank you for
viewing my video and please subscribe like my videos thank you
