How To Make Money In Real Estate - Duration: 11:46.Kris Krohn here and today we're talking about "How to make money in real estate?"
If you have ever wanted financial freedom, if you've ever wanted to live in
your dream house, if you've ever wanted to travel the world, if you've ever
wanted to drive the car that you want. If you've ever wanted most importantly the
time freedom to do what you want, with from your life when you want, with who
you want, then I'm going to tell you right now. Real estate has created more
millionaires than anything else bar none. So today, I'm going to talk to you about how
to make money in real estate. So, check it out. Today I'm going to be sharing with
you the two most important secrets, the two most important elements of how you
can start making money in real estate right now. Because my very first deal,
when I increase my net worth $40,000 as a young 23 year old,
I'm going to tell you that was mind-blowing for me. Because I was making less than
$20,000 a year at the time.
I mean imagine... Imagine in one moment, signing a piece of paper and that on
paper at least, increasing your net worth $40,000. A short time later, I was
actually able to refinance that property and pull out nearly
$20,000. 20 grand in hand. Also that exact same house, I was renting out and it was
cash flow me $550 dollars a month. What would you do with
an extra $550 a month? Listen, whether you're a CEO
making $200,000 a year, 550 extra dollars a month, every month,
no matter what, that's a really big deal. Or if you're a young, poor, dumb, like I
was when I was in college and I had nothing going for me,
$550 a month, that was huge. That was that like covered my rent, right? I
mean, that was a really big deal. Now, to make this money in real estate, there are
two core elements that I want to share with you. And as I share them with you, I
want you to understand. I'm not going to share anything that's rocket science. In
fact, I can't tell you how many millionaires I've met in real estate
that probably are below the average IQ. I mean, I don't want to be rude or
cruel in any kind of way. But this stuff is not rocket scientist. This is stuff... I
mean listen, if I can do it, you can do it. I actually wanted to go to college and
be a doctor and I was told that I was I was too dumb, I was too stupid because I
just... I didn't do well in my chemistry classes.
I had to harness a different type of intelligence. And I want to share with
you an intelligence that's along the lines of Street Mart smart. So, if you got
street smarts, you're really going to like what I'm going to share with you today. Okay,
2 things that you're going to need. See this? It's not peanut or butter and it's
definitely not peanut butter. That's my camera producer this guy's crazy. He
wants so badly for me to slip up and say peanut butter on stage. He's trying to do
inception on me. It's not working Nate. Alright. So check it out. Peanut butter
is not what you need although that is like seriously favorite food of mine.
Alright. So, before I share these 2 things, I'm going to share something that you have
probably heard before. It's called buy low, sell high. Like Warren Buffett.
Richest man in the world that's given away (How many?) tens of billions of
dollars now. 85% of all of his wealth. He'll tell you that buy low sell high is
really how he created all his wealth. He's done it in real estate and he's done it
in business and that's the core competency. Now buy low, sell high. Just so
you understand what that means, if you buy something for 50 cents and you sell
it for a dollar then you make a 50% profit and you make 50 cents on that
buck, right? Well in real estate, we're going to apply buy low sell high to the two
most important elements of how to make money in real estate. And at the end of
this video, I'm going to actually share with you how you can access some of the
free resources that I have that I can give you that can jump you right into
real estate and give you the tools that I wish I had that I got started. I mean, I
retired after four and a half years in it. You know, I'm actually working today.
Loving my life and helping a lot of people with what I'm doing. You got to do
something when you're retired, right? You got to do something when you don't need
money. And for me, that's giving back to you. So
take notes, classes in session. Number 1, equity. I'm going to define what this
term is and why it's important. When you buy a house, buy low, sell high. Let's say
that you have a house that is worth... It has a value of $100,000. It's a hundred
thousand dollar house. But let's just say for a moment that you can purchase this
house for $80,000. That's $20,000 below what it actually cost, what it's actually
worth. Now, think about that for a moment. That $20,000 is what you increase your
net worth by when you buy that house. And if you sell that house down the road,
there's money you're going to get because you bought low and because
you sold high. So equity is a really important element. The second most
important element that I want to teach you today is what's called cashflow. And
I'm even going to give you one of my top strategies today. So, here's what cash
flow means. (Cash flow means I dropped the board.) Cash flow means that I have a
mortgage on this house. And let's say my payment is $600 a month. But let's say
I'm able to rent this house for $800 a month. There's a discrepancy. You're going to
collect $800 this month but you're going to have to only spend $600 of it on, you
know, the mortgage. So there's $200 leftover. That's called a cash flow. This
is a part of buy low, sell high. There's an arbitrage here. An arbitrage measures
the difference between what you owe and what you can get. In real estate, I'm not
talking about becoming a realtor, I'm not talking about becoming an agent. I'm
talking about how do you leverage these two things right here to financially
improve your life right now. What can you do in the next 30 days that will
increase your net worth and actually put money in your pocket?
Well, let's actually apply this to something very real. One of my strategies
that I use out there is if you were to buy a house. And by the way, if you don't
have the means or the money to buy a house, then you're going to want to click
the link in the description and I will actually show you all the ways that I
buy real estate with no money and no credit because I bought four houses last
week. And it cost me $0. And there's a reason why. So click that link. And by
the way, if you're new to the channel and you haven't subscribed, I'm going to be
dropping wealth on you every single day. So make sure that you take care of that
right now. I'm watching. Now, equity and cash flow, here's what you're actually
doing. If you can buy a house, I'm actually going to show you strategy
today called lease option. Lease option is not just do a straight rental, it's
actually like a rent to own. In this situation, if it was worth a hundred
grand and I bought it for $80,000 then my mortgage is 600. But I'm not
going to rent it for 800. I'm going to rent it for $1,000. And the reason why I'm going to
rent it for $1,000 a month is because I'm going to say to somebody, "Hey, I'm going to
put a rent-to-own sign in the yard. Say, hey how many of you want to buy a
house and not rent. Stop throwing your rent money away but you're scared to go
to a bank and go through the qualification process." I learned from
some of my early mentors. Basically, if strategy on how to do this. And in my
book, which you can download. It's called The Straight Path to Real Estate Wealth.
And it's basically all about how do you create wealth through buying homes. So,
this lease option system that I'm teaching you right now is one where you
get a good deal on the house and then whatever your payment is, you're actually
going to get a couple hundred dollars. 2 to 3 hundred dollars more a month
than you would just straight renting it. So now, we're not at a $200 month cash
flow, we're at a $400 month cash flow. It could be a $500 month cash flow. You know,
that's pretty typical on the real estate idea. To get cash flows like that when I
do this Lease Option system. Well now here you are, making an extra
$400 a month. And guess what's happening with that property over time?
It's appreciating in value. You can't count on it but you should account for
it. Because real estate what? Over time it, it appreciates. It goes up in value. So
now, you have an asset. That asset is paying you, you also have a liability, you
have a mortgage, you have a debt. But the asset and the cash flow off of it is
actually bigger. So, you're maintaining the debt. You're controlling the debt and
you're getting this money left over. Now, let's say that I do this for 5 years.
And five years I go to sell this house. Let's say in 5 years, the houses now
may be worth $120,000. And let's say that the
mortgage started off at 80. But let's say that I'd paid it down now to 70,000
Well, if I a 70 and I can sell it for 120, guess what? That's
$50,000. But in the 5 years I've also been collecting $400
a month cash flow. And by the way, you didn't know this but when they moved
in, they actually gave you $5,000 non-refundable down payment because they
want to be able to buy it. 5 years passes, they go to buy it. I don't really
have the selling fees that I normally do, I don't have the realtor 6%
fees I can normally do. So, I'm going to get most of this $50,000. I'm
going to maybe share some of that money back with them. Let's say I share 10
grand back with them. I make 40 here and I've been making $400
over the last five years. That's another $25,000.
So now, all of a sudden, I sell this home, I make $65,000.
And I did it all with understanding buy low, sell high.
Primarily on just two features. Equity and cashflow. I'm not talking about the tax
benefits and the many other benefits that come with real estate. In fact, I can
even show you one of the best parts of this is that you get to be hands-off.
You're not actively managing the property. I told it breaks. They're fixing
it because guess who wants to buy the house? The people, the owners that want to
become the technical owners on title. So, this strategy is what I leveraged on my
first 25 properties. It created a 6-figure residual income. It allowed me
to quit my job. And now, the cool thing is I get to pretty much do whatever I want
with my life. Now, that was 13 years ago when I retired.
In fact, just yesterday. I turned 39 years old. It's freaking crazy and wild. And
I've been to as many countries as I am old. So I've been traveling the world
I've been doing some amazing things. I can tell you some of my favorite beaches
and I... I don't share that to brag. I want you to understand that I haven't been
under the oppression of having a job. My life got unmortgage and I got
to go off financial life support when I created my own freedom. A lot of people,
they're not actually living life on their terms. They're not living life the
way they want. They're living life on their boss's terms. They're living life
on somebody else's wavelength on how someone else's society says you're
supposed to financially do money and live life. And I'm telling you, do you
like that? Even if you like your job, do you really want to have to work 40, 50,
60 hours a week? Now, I don't want you to become an unproductive number of society.
I want you to become a more productive member of society.
You see, the best part of wealth hasn't been the cars in the house and the trips
and taking care of my family. And even as great as the freedom has been. It's
really been the freedom to do the things that feel right that create fulfillment
in my life. What would you do if you didn't have to have a job? What would you
do if you could afford to do anything that you wanted? I'm not talking about
being a playboy and living it up however you want. I'm really just talking about
what is the life that you want to live that is the most on purpose for you. That
feels the best, that feels the most right. Takes freedom for many of us to go to
live that life. The strategies that I'm sharing with you, can absolutely do that
for you. Now, for those of you that are new to my
channel, subscribe. But for those of you that say, "Kris, what's my next step? How
do I get good deals? How do I get the awesome cash flow?"
I can show you how to do it. I've been teaching people how to do it ever since
I retired from it. And I can tell you that I've helped over 3,000 people to
date. Transact nearly a billion dollars in real estate.
My clients are making more money than they ever have. Over 70 million dollars
in the last 5 years of what my clients have brought in. From what I can
teach you, if you click the link in the description below. When you go there,
you're actually going to get access to learning about my entire system and how
I can mentor you. How I can take you under my wing. And I'm telling you right
now, learning how to do real estate that doesn't take money and doesn't take
credit. That's a game-changer for anybody.

How to Make Slice and Bake Cookies - Duration: 4:36.Hey everybody it's Sam here from Sugar Spun Run, and today I'll be showing you how to make Slice and Bake Cookies.
These cookies are super fun to bake and they are very versatile.
Today, I'm going to be giving you a great base recipe and you can add your own fun mix-ins as you would like.
To get started, you're going to need 1 cup of softened unsalted butter and we'll add this to a large bowl, and
we're also going to add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and
1/4 cup of tightly packed light brown sugar.
You're going to want to use an electric mixer for this recipe to beat everything together until your butters and sugars are creamy and well combined.
We are going to add 1 large egg yolk to our batter. Keep in mind,
this is just the yolk, you'll want to discard of the white. We won't need it for this recipe.
And will give everything a good stir.
Now we can add our salt, and our flavoring. You're going to need a half teaspoon of salt, and you'll want to just sprinkle this
evenly over your cookie dough.
I'm also going to be using a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and
this is optional, but I will also be using 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract.
We'll give everything a good stir before adding our flour.
These Slice and Bake Cookies are going to need two and a quarter cups of all purpose flour.
You're going to want to add this gradually to your cookie dough, so that while you're mixing everything together, the flour doesn't go flying everywhere.
This is a pretty dry and crumbly dough
so you're going to want to grab your spatula and make sure to scrape the sides and the bottom of the bowl so that all
of your flour gets incorporated into your batter.
At this point you're slice and bake cookie dough is actually pretty much done.
But as I mentioned earlier if you want to add any add-ins, this is the time to do it.
Maybe you want to add mini chocolate chips, or chopped up candy pieces. I'm going to be adding sprinkles.
I'm going to just be adding about two and a half tablespoons of colored sprinkles.
I'm using nonpareils, and because nonpareils have a tendency to bleed through your dough,
I don't recommend using your electric mixer to stir them together. I'm going to use my spatula to gently fold them into the dough.
So at this point our cookie dough is actually pretty much done.
We are going to roll it up into logs and we're going to chill it. The easiest way to do
this is to break your dough in half and drop half of the batter into a sheet of wax paper.
We're going to use our hands and the wax paper to form it into a log.
So for nice round cookies, you're going to want the edges to be even and you're going to want them to be smooth
I just use my hands to kind of smooth out the edges and make this a nice smooth log.
I'm just gonna tamp down the edges to make them flat as well.
Now your cookie dough is ready to chill,
but if you put it in the fridge like this,
you'll find that the bottom will actually flatten on your refrigerator shelf and you will have a flat bottom.
I like my cookies to be round.
So a little trick that I've learned is to take a paper towel roll and cut that in half, and then I will cut that
lengthwise so this opens up like this and I will place my cookie dough roll into the paper towel roll.
While this isn't actually necessary,
your cookies will taste just as good without doing this, it is going to keep the edges round.
You'll want to repeat this process with the other half of your cookie dough, and then we will
transfer these cookie dough rolls to your refrigerator where we'll let them chill for at least
two to three hours. About 15 minutes before you are ready to slice and bake your cookies,
you'll want to pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Then once your dough has finished chilling,
it should be nice and solid and it will be ready to cut. You're going to need a sharp knife for this and
you'll want to cut your cookie dough slices to be about a quarter of an inch thick.
You'll want to place your cookie dough slices on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and you'll want to space them about an inch apart.
Now these Slice and Bake Cookies are ready to bake. So we'll place them in our 350 degree Fahrenheit preheated oven.
and we'll bake them for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden brown
As you can see these Slice and Bake Cookies
don't spread much at all while they're baking, and the best way to tell that they're done
is that the edges near the bottom should be turning just
slightly golden brown. These Slice and Bake Cookies taste great as is they are, buttery and
slightly crisp, and have such a great flavor, but if you want to play around and dip them in chocolate and add sprinkles,
that's something I like to do. Sometimes they taste great that way as well.
Well, that is how you make these Slice and Bake Cookies.
I hope you guys enjoyed this recipe. If you try it out,
please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of it.
Thank you so much for watching and I will see you next time.

How to make the most out of the new Transactions feature - Duration: 7:30.hello and welcome to the myCRM Transaction tutorial. The transactions
feature ties together the property owner and lead by showing you the relevant
dates who was involved, who made commission and even which documents were
required. Transactions saves you time as now you have a central source for all of
your data viewable and downloadable to your computer and on your smartphone. I
first need to make you aware of six essential rules that govern how
Transactions works. Anyone in admin level access can see and edit anything and
everything. Number two anybody with Manager or Agent level
access will not be allowed to see the things that do not belong to them until
permission is granted. Number three only the creator of the transaction or a
member of staff with admin access can edit it. Number four before creating a
transaction ensure that all of the relevant documents are uploaded already
into the property the owner and the lead. Number five for the early days of this
feature no transaction will be able to be deleted instead if you wish to do
this you will need to select "closed lost". Number six recorded transactions are not
shared with any third party including the property finder transaction gateway
my CRM transactions has been designed to allow any sale or rental scenario and in
this video we will demonstrate how to do it from the property, the lead or indeed
the new transaction screen itself. Before that let me share a few definitions. When
I say User I mean you the person logged in operating myCRM. Property
means the apartment, villa, office etc. that you are selling or renting. Owner or
seller is the person or people who own the property that you are selling or
renting. Lead or tenant is the person who is buying or renting the property in
question. Now let's create a transaction from the property itself. Before if a
property is sold or rented you would change the status to just that whereas
now you notice you cannot do it. Instead you simply need to click on the new tab
called transactions next to where documents would go, click on "add
transaction" and just follow the steps. If you don't know the dates yet please put
when you'd expect these things to happen. You'll notice that the owner is already
pre-populated and as we mentioned earlier if you are an admin or if you
have permission to see the owner you will see that owners information is
there if you do not have permission to see the owner you will instead see a
button asking you to obtain permission to do so click on that button and the
user who is responsible for that owner will be sent a notification to grant you
the ability to see it. The same permission scenario arises when you link
a buyer. If it is your buyer or you are an admin then great, no permission is
required. If it is not your buyer or tenant then you seek permission through
myCRM as before when adding a price you can also add the downpayment deposit
using a percentage value or an amount. Step 3 will let you add detail the
commission payments again via percentage or amount. Upon saving you will see that
the transaction is stored now in the history of that listing it will also be
in the corresponding section within the transaction menu for future
reference. This is just the beginning, now the transaction is there you can click
on it and it will expand downwards showing you the basic tale components if
you click on the arrow it will take you through two transactions where you can
add some "meat on the bones" so to speak, however, before we do that
let's start the same procedure again but from the lead section instead. You go to
the leads menu and find the person who is buying or renting the property then
you ensure the property you wish to transact upon is shortlisted. Select that
property then click on the Add button. The only difference now is that you will
already have the details of the property the owner and the lead populated. However,
if you do not have permission to view any of these you will need first to
request permission from the person who does. Of course we could just start the
whole thing from the new transaction screen as ever to create anything new on
my CRM you need to click on the big red Add button from the transactional screen
you are starting from scratch so you'll need to head to the bottom of the page
and add the property and the tenant or buyer the owner will be also filled
based on the property that you choose if we had carried on from the property page
or the lead page would be at the same point as we are now at the top of the
screen you see the negotiated price this is how much the sellers agreed to sell
for next to it is gross price which is how much the buyer actually has to spend
including commissions and later local fees commissions is the next tab first
you tell the system who is paying Commission how much they are paying then
you tell the system who the Commission is being paid to in the Commission split
section for example 50% of the Commission is coming to me from the
seller as it is my seller and the buyer as it is my buyer if the buyer was
controlled by my colleague then it would be just as easy to add my colleague in
there instead from here you can actually add as many contributors as you want for
example your colleague introduces the buyer to you you could give them a
kickback of timber and in the notes section you can record
any important information that you would like to remember for this transaction
particularly the documents tab cleverly ties together all of the documents from
property owner and lead which ties is back into rule number four before
creating a transaction ensure that all the relevant documents are uploaded
already to the property the owner and the lead without getting too technical
when creating a new transaction it would take a snapshot of everything as it was
exactly at the point of creation if you now revisited the owner for example and
add a new document to it this document will not appear in the transaction to
reiterate rule 4 is very important you will notice that each section has each
document under it and an empty pin icon if you would like this document to be
part of this transaction simply click on the pin and the system will recognize it
officially finally when you are ready to and only when you are ready please mark
the transaction as won or lost once you do this you will no longer be able to
modify the transaction and will only be able to view it for the time being
transactions will not be able to be deleted as ever please feel free to
contact us on the chat now button support at my serum comm 800 my crm or
call your my CRM Account Manager to arrange some face-to-face training
please also note that the FAQ section will be updated regularly finally we
welcome all feedback positive or negative please continue to help my CRM
to get better and better thank you

3 Tips To Make Him Feel Like A Man! - Duration: 2:49.- Three things to say to make him feel like a man.
Hello, guys, and welcome to my YouTube channel.
I'm Alex Cormont, your French relationship expert.
In this video, I want to share with you three tips
that can change a lot in your relationship.
Because we want your husband, your boyfriend, your man
to feel like a man.
This is something really important.
But we also want you to stay in the challenge zone.
We don't want to give him the power.
So I have three tips.
To give you the first one is
you can tell him exactly what you like.
Most of the time we say I like you or I love you.
I want you to add why.
Why do you like this guy?
It could be, I like you because you're a gentleman.
I like you because I feel like a princess with you.
But you can also tell him
I like you because you're such a good cooker.
The more you will explain the situation,
the more he will feel like a man,

help you make the team!
Welcome to X-ray Basketball the show that takes a deeper look into basketball.
I'm coach Logan and on this channel we provide an opportunity for coaches and
players to improve their knowledge and understanding of the game of basketball.
If you're new please follow us or subscribe to X-ray Basketball and if you enjoyed this
video please hit that like button. Today we're going to talk about five keys to
basketball tryouts that will help you make your freshman or high school
basketball team. So let's jump into it. I've been a high school basketball coach
for the last eight years and I've been a part of every level of tryouts from
Freshman JV to Varsity and I'm gonna use that experience to teach you today five
keys to your basketball tryout. The first key to your basketball tryout is
Preparation. There's nothing worse than showing up to your tryout and it's the
first time you've touched a basketball in weeks for possibly months. Your skill
and comfort level with a basketball in your hand will be obvious to a coach
that is running your basketball tryout and it's important for you to practice
well before your basketball tryouts. The best way to get better at basketball is
to practice practice and practice. So grab a basketball head out onto the
driveway or the park and work on your ball handling, your jump shot and playing
as many games as you can. The second part to your preparation for tryouts is
Conditioning. Basketball is a very physically demanding sport and you'll
need to make sure that you're in shape to meet those demands. When working on
your conditioning for basketball tryouts I suggest you focus on short distance
sprints, long distance running, strength or weight lift training and footwork
drills such as jump rope or speed ladder and the last part to your preparation
for basketball tryouts is to work on your grades. The typical standard to
qualify for high school athletics in the United States of America is a minimum
GPA or grade point average of 2.0 some schools, counties and states have
different rules and regulations regarding academic qualification for
high school sports. It's important for you to do your research and find out
what your school requires out of you and if you find that your academic standing
makes you ineligible to participate in high school sports you want to
do everything you can to improve your grades. I suggest making sure that you've
completed all your missing assignments and seek tutoring if any is available.
So the first key was about preparation before your basketball tryout the next
Four keys will be about what to do on the day of your tryouts. So the second
key to your basketball tryout is to Focus. Depending on the size of the
school that you attended there's likely to be more students trying out for the
basketball team than you're probably expecting. I've been a part of some
tryouts that have seen 60 to 70 students competing for 15 roster spots. So it's
important for you in this environment where there are so many different people
that you stay focused and you pay attention to what's going on. As tempting
as it may be to socialize with friends and players that you may know you also
need to realize that these players are competing for the same spots you are.
So don't let them distract you and cause you to lose focus on what you're trying
to do. Remember you're trying to make the team. It's also really important for you
to focus on what's happening on the court to. Your coaches are most likely
gonna put you through drills and teach you new aspects of the game and what
they're doing is they're measuring your ability to learn and react to their
teachings. Sometimes coaches will teach you and put you through drills that are
above your grade level to see how you handle that challenge and other times
they'll be putting you through drills and teaching you aspects of their game
that they're planning on using for the upcoming season. All in all you want to
stay focused on what your mission is you're there to make the basketball team
and you want to make sure nothing distracts you from learning and showing
what you're capable of doing. Now that you're focused on your purpose and you
know what you're supposed to be doing on the basketball court it's time to talk
about the third key to your basketball tryout and that key is to Hustle. The best
way to get noticed by your coach and to separate yourself from your classmates
is to hustle up and down the floor. Examples of hustling on the basketball
court are diving for loose balls, chasing down every rebound you can, sprinting
back on defense and in between each drill sprinting from station to station.
The reason why hustling will get you noticed by coaches and separate yourself
from other players is because it's not easy to do. It requires a
tremendous amount of energy and discipline to hustle for every
single possession and like we talked about before you need to be focused and
in great shape with your conditioning for you to be able to perform at that
level. I promise you that if you have a fear that you won't get noticed on the
basketball court based off of your skills alone that you're Hustling will
put you on the coach's radar. So our third key to your basketball tryout we
talked about how hustling can be a positive way for you to get noticed on
the basketball court and with our fourth key we're gonna talk about how your
Attitude can be a negative way for you to be noticed on the basketball court.
Just like how I told you from a coach's perspective that hustling is the best
way to get noticed by a coach. The absolute worst way to be noticed by any
coach is having a poor attitude. I've seen bad attitudes get players kicked
out of the gym before tryouts are even over or even lead to them getting cut on
the very first day. Competing in sports at a high level does require a lot of
emotion but for you to show that you have the maturity to handle high school
sports you need to show restraint and control over your emotions. If during
your basketball tryouts you feel like you were fouled and there was no call
made. You can't lose your temper and start cursing at other players or
starting a fight. In a real game of basketball there are a lot of missed
calls by referees and fouls that are never given to players and it's
important for you to keep playing even through that adversity. You may even be
in a situation where you're placed on a temporary team during your basketball
tryout whether it be three on three, four and four, or five on five and on this
team you may not get along with your teammates or your teammates may not be
the easiest to play with. It's crucial that you make the most of this situation.
Who you play with and how they play are things that you cannot control but how
you respond to the situation and how you conduct yourself on the court is 100%
under your control. So as we key in on your attitude on the
court we want to make sure that your body language is under control and
positive and that all the communication you have with your teammates is
supportive and not critical and the fifth key to your basketball
tryout is to Not Be Selfish. Your coaches who are running your basketball tryout will
provide you with every opportunity for you to show off your ball handling
skills and your shooting ability. By putting you through various drills. When
it comes to playing games whether it be three on three, four on four, or five on
five the worst possible thing you can do is to be selfish. Nobody wants to play
with a teammate who's unwilling to pass the ball,
who's going to dribble the entire time and is gonna take a shot every time they
touch the basketball and speaking as a basketball coach when we watch players
compete in live games we're no longer critiquing just skills we're also
looking at decision making and team chemistry. So those things are vitally
important when you're competing in live games. Your ability to make the right
pass at the right time to an open teammate or your decision-making on when
to take a good shot during your team's possession of the basketball will mean
more to a coach than to see you go and try to score one versus five or one
versus four. Be patient and don't force the game let the game come to you and
always be on the lookout for positive plays for your team and for yourself. Now
heres a surprise! I've got three bonus tips for you. The first bonus tip I have
for you before your basketball tryouts is to find out Who your basketball
coaches are once you've found out who they are you want to try to find an
opportunity to introduce yourself. Meeting your coaches and introducing
yourself will go a long way in them remembering you when it comes time for
tryouts. Bonus tip number two. Find out which
students on campus were on the basketball team last year. It's a good
idea to make friends with those players seeing how they might be your teammates
if you make the team and they can give you some insight and input on what their
experience was like when they were in tryouts. Bonus tip number three.
Unfortunately not everyone is going to make the basketball team. Traditional
rosters only have about fifteen spots and like we talked about
previously you might be in a situation where your basketball tryouts consist of
50 or 60 students trying out for those 15 spots. So if you do not make the team
but you are still passionate about basketball. I highly suggest that you
find any way you can to still be a part of the basketball program at your school.
Some different ways that you could be a part of the basketball program even
though you're not on the basketball team. You could be a student manager that
helps with practice and games. You could help keep stats for the coaches. You can
work the score book or score clock on game days and you may even be in an
opportunity where you could possibly be a practice player. The most important
thing is you have to let those coaches know that you're interested in being a
part of the basketball program. Willing to be dedicated to the time that your
position requires and fully understand that you're not going to be playing this
year. Now you might be asking me "Coach Logan why do I want to do that? That's
gonna be painful for me to watch those players that I feel like I'm better than
or that I can compete with play and I'm not playing." I understand it's a
difficult situation to be in. However you will have such a tremendous opportunity
to learn more about the game of basketball, to understand what it is that
your coaches want from their players, you'll be able to see through your
teammates and classmates successes and failures what it takes to play at that
level and if you have an opportunity to practice with the team you will be able
to continue to improve your skill set and prepare yourself for the following
year's tryouts. Not everyone is gonna make the basketball team and not
everyone is gonna want to be in a manager, practice player or statistician
position but that opportunity will put you in a better position going forward.
We hope these Five keys to your Basketball Tryout and the Three Bonus
Tips we provided will give you confidence going forward as you prepare
for your own basketball tryout. We encourage you to watch this video over
and over and over again as you prepare for your basketball tryout and if you

bonus tip that we talked about in finding a way to stay a part of the
basketball program. We are incredibly excited for this upcoming basketball
season and we want to wish you the best as you start your basketball tryout journey.
