Self-care if I'm a German woman, you probably understand what I'm talking about as a Nigerian woman
I think African women who can relate to this. We're taught to take care of everybody else before taking care of ourselves. So
Everybody comes before us, you know kids,

boyfriend were raised as Africans as like you have that like it's almost like
Suffering is a badge of honor
Or you have to suffer to get happy to find happiness at the end of the day and I really don't believe in that
it's important to take care of yourself because I
Feel like when you really take care of yourself
And I don't mean by an expensive wigs or fashion and or whatever when you really take care of your body your mind your health
that's when you can perform at your
Optimum level and be the best for the people you love and the people who love you
So in this video, I'm just gonna be running through a few self-care tips
You know to live your best life
Especially when you live in the busy crazy stressful city like I do which is Lagos. It's maddening
So I feel you just need to sometimes just need to take some time to take care of yourself so you can
recenter and you can be
At your optimum, I feel that's what self-care is about taking care of yourself
Truly taking care of yourself. Not you keep doing things for yourself just because you want others to see that's when you know
I don't think that's taking care of yourself. No, I'm not an expert on this topic
I'm just talking as someone who is on this journey, so I'm learning as well
So I just want I just come here to share. So I'm interested in hearing about self-care tips that are beneficial
Especially when you live in a high-stress environment
Keep watching a really great self-care tip that I feel has helped me a lot is eating clean eating organic
So, you know foods with preservatives are not good for your system
We all know that I mean most of the healthcare problems that we're experiencing now in life are down to our food
I'm lucky that I live in a city where a lot of most of the food is organic
Anyway straight from the farm to the market to the grocery store to the table because of population growth and all that
We're beginning to see more chemicals in our food in our meat and it's affecting our health. There's more cases of cancer
dementia
So I feel eating clean. I'm not saying never eat junk food because listen I eat junk food
I love cake. I have a sweet tooth. I'm not saying
Totally cut it out of it like I mean if you can hey by all means it try as much as possible
To eat clean when you can't what you feed your body
It just emanates in every part of you and when you eat clean up you feel better even when you start eating clean

Your body just feels strong them obviously
There'll be the time where you have to eat fast food, but when you can't cook your meals at home meal prep, it's hard
I'm really struggling with that now with no purpose. It was an epic situation in Nigeria
Take time for yourself to quiet your mind. You know, we live in a time where there's just so much noise

News on the TV a lot of news on TV is bad. There's stuff on the internet
More bad news, there's stuff on social media. It's cooling through social media and I seen stuff that I'm making you feel insecure
So sometimes you just need to step away from all that all the noise, you know
The stress the traffic family stress work stress school stress, so I'm just need to step away
Just quiet your mind. Some people meditate meditation is also a type of a way to quiet your mind
I've tried meditation, but I have not been
Consistent with it when I have meditated. I've used an app called headspace
Meditation is not just a city. It's not people think what my teacher is going to go home
completely think about nothing what meditation is more of just focusing on one thing and when your mind starts to
divert
Which it will it will divert because they are human you just bring it back to that one thing
You're thinking about prayer is another one. You know, Kriya is great
Meditation and prayer know what relaxes you we all know what relaxes us like for me
When I'm in my room sometimes I would dance nobody I'm just there by myself. Um for me I'm in the club
I'm at a party by myself. I'm just dancing like nobody can see me
Obviously nobody can I can't really dance like I want nobody's looking no what relaxes you it could be reading a book it could be
Dancing could be watching TV, but some people is writing in their journal keeping a gratitude list also
Really I find
helps as a way of
Self-care, even if you're having a bad day
And you take time to just be thankful for things. It just makes me more appreciative and it just makes me filled with
gratitude and joy and happiness
Pretty much so gratitude lists our great self-care tip pamper me time
Ladies and guys. Listen, I think you owe me time, you know just going for a manicure
Going for a spa treatment
Getting a pedicure whether you're a guy or girl whatever, you know
Just having that time that mean like see do you pamper yourself for me?
I will do mine every day at the end of each day. I've just recently gotten into this
It's a sense that Korean skincare right under the tents. There's a nobody got time for that. Oh, I do I think five steps
For me, it's just I look forward to it
because even if it doesn't say anything to my I just like that time where I just
It's the end of the day I take off my makeup
I wash my face I use my toner I use my essence I put on my
Mom I put on my cream
I like that time I just for me is just a little pamper session just like a five-minute session
So hello, and I do this every day I do this every night without fail
So have a little pamper me session. It doesn't have to be every day at least once a week
speaking of skin flora shade drink water that h2o that
h2o
Your skin will be glowing
What's that? It's great. Like I
Try to drink that ever bottle. I can't know how many liters it is
I think we're meant to drink 3 2.5 litres of water a day
Notice how I have a headache or migraine. It's opposed to me a lot. I'm
Dehydrated, all I need to do is drink water
And I'm fine for me water is just as important as you think clean and another one that I really love
This has helped me a lot
Exercise my goodness. I think I'm out
I didn't know what my fitness goals are I go to the gym because it makes me feel good if I just wanted a flatter
Stomach a bit of a woody just now I go to the gym because it makes me feel good
after workout no matter how
hard how difficult the workout is I
Feel good after I have my endorphins rushing usually when I workout in the morning. Ah,
That's big. I feel I can take on the world. I feel like superwoman I just feel like the listen I can slay dragons
Exercise you don't have to go to the gym. You don't have to be a fitness person some
simple as walking
Walk where you live in your s take 10 minutes 15 minutes
And don't just sit down and be stationary do some kind of exercise
Listen, it doesn't always have to be like, oh I'm wearing my fitness kids
I'm going to go on walks and we've gone through squats. I'm putting to the gym and need to lose 20 kilos
No, if it's a if it's a distance that you can walk
Walk instead of driving, you know exercise guys. Don't just be sitting down on your stationary
so to find those things that make you happy and do them as long as they're
Legal, they don't harm anyone
So if you're a sicko and you feed off of hurting people if that's what makes you happy you really need to seek some therapy
No judgement. So guys. Those are my self-care tips. These are just a few of the things I've worked for me
