My name is Jamie and welcome to my channel!
The month of October has already gone by,
and it's already the first day of November,
(I meant to upload on the 1st so I'll just say it's the 1st)
This past month my favorites weren't clothes fashion etc
aka. the stuff I normally talk about.
but rather food, a book, that kind of stuff.
So I wasn't sure if I should film a favorites,
but I thought I should share whatever good information I have with you guys.
Then let's get straight into my first favorite item.
What's up with my hair.
The fist fav is this book.
It's called 'Fit for Life, not Fat for Life'.
The subtitle is more interesting.
Why aren't wild animals obese?
I think it's a very thought provoking question to ask.
Harvey Diamond, the author of this book attributes
the cause to the study of Natural Hygiene.
I'll first tell you what Natural Hygiene is.
A study on maintaining physically and mentally
cleanliness to improve health.
So basically it explains how we can make sure
that the food that enters our body does not become
an undigested pile of food waste,
and instead gets digest and absorbed well.
I honestly think the title is a little misleading.
This is not a book about dieting, but about health.
I've never struggled with obesity my entire life.
And I also eat very healthy; a well balanced meal.
Yet I always had acid reflux and digestion problems.
But after I read this book and ate accordingly,
I could digest food much more easily.
My dad was the one who recommended this book to me
In the 24 years I've been alive,
I've never seen him lose weight like that.
But in a matter of a month, he lost five kg.
He didn't starve, but he ate a lot of veggies.
He also drank alcohol and ate meat as well.
Even though he still ate everything he used to,
he changed HOW he ate it.
I don't know I can believe every single thing this book says,
but I believe it has some truth to it.
Even if you don't need to lose weight,
if you want to be healthier,
read this book and do what it tells you to do.
My second favorite is
this candle.
It looks plain and boring but
it's from brand called Apotheke.
It's the Basil Sage Mint scent.
It's the Basil Sage Mint scent.
It's light and fresh
but also sweet
it just is a subtle fragrance.
I really can't stand strong artificial scents
so I seldom put on perfume, but
this candle is really subtle.
Also because it's a soy candle it's better for your body.
I think it's a good way to unwind on any evening.
It's especially good for Fall because of how lonesome it makes you feel.
My third favorite...
this accessory brand I mentioned in my mini haul.
It's called So, Me.
I'm not sponsored, nor were these gifted.
The owner of this brand probably doesn't even know
that I have a YouTube channel LOL.
The designs of the earrings from this brand are
very very pretty, they're non-nickel earrings,
and they're quite affordable.
I first got to know this brand at the Dongjin Flea Market in Hongdae.
I bought two pairs right away and have been
wearing them nonstop recently.
This pair I'm trying for the first time right now
and my mom says she loves it too!
I want to spread the word about this accessory brand
so that the really nice owner becomes successsful
The next favorite is..
a type of food.
It's the macarons from
TWG.
I already ate them all.
My parents were recently in Hong Kong.
They bought 10 macarons there.
I think these are the best macarons I've had
in my whole life.
If you read the description it says..
What this means is..
They're famous for their tea.
and so they put the flavor and scent of their teas
into the macarons to make them extra yummy.
This is just so true. They're SO good.
It's the right amount of chewy.
and the filling is not too sweet
and just so freaking good!
My favorite one was the Napoleon Tea and Caramel.
It's basically a caramel macaron but better.
It's a black color
and I'm sorry I don't have a nice picture, but
You have to try that one first.
Another favorite by TWG is
their Creme Caramel Tea.
This tea is especially good.
My mom and I went to the Hyundai department store
and we drank this for 12,000 won a teapot.
It was so good that day that my mom bought it when she went to Hong Kong.
If you like Rooibos tea, you'll like it.
They've put in a french spice into the Rooibos tea.
It smells like vanilla.
and it still has that earthy taste of rooibos.
I highly recommend this tea.
It has no caffeine in it so it's good to drink in the evening.
I think it's a good substitute for coffee.
If by any chance there is no TWG near you,
you can buy it at Twosome place (a Korean cafe)
I think it's around 10,000 won pricier than in Hong Kong.
But considering how a cup of coffee is 5000 won,
it isn't that bad.
If you're craving a hot drink,
but already consumed too much caffiene,
this is the drink for you.
I didn't make any song, movie, tv series recommendations last month,
but this month I have two favorites.
The first is Rich & Sad by Post Malone.
Post Malone is famous for 'Congratulation' and 'White Iverson'
'Congratulation' and 'White Iverson'
But I think his latest album 'beerbongs and bentleys'
is just a work of art.
The whole album is great too,
but among them, I really love this one song.
Just like the title says, it's about how
having a lot of money doesn't make you happy.
And it's completely true. Money doesn't lead to happiness.
This cliché but true message never gets old.
The melancholy element of the song made it different from most songs of that genre.
My last favorite is the movie 'Chef'
I think it was a pretty big box office success in Korea.
I was just surfing though Netflix and watched it
and I loved it. I'll tell you the plot first.
A famous Chef, Carl Casper works at a pretty famous restaurant.
One day after receiving a harsh review from a food critic,
Casper attempts to make new dishes,
only to be stopped by the restaurant owner.
As he realizes that he has no voice in the food he creates,
he quits his job and starts a food truck.
With his best friend and son, he becomes the ambitious chef he once was.
They drive across America and start the business just like that.
It's a very light but invigorating movie.
If you watch most movies, they have a slow beginning,
and have a somewhat happy middle part,
and then have a conflict in the middle and then that conflict gets resolved right?
But I don't really like that conflict in the middle.
When I know that the conflict is approaching,
I just want to stop watching the movie.
This movie has a smaller conflict,
I think it barely exists lol.
The ending is also very happy.
And it's a movie about familial love.
Also it's a cooking movie so
there are scenes he makes grilled cheese and other cheesy things.
The cooking process is very cinematic
This movie makes you want to eat something super cheesy.
So you should definitely watch this movie.
So that's it for favorites.
There aren't any big stunning products, but
each of these products really made my month better.
I'll see you guys in my next one!
Bye!
