a tale of two Germanys: Mercedes v Trabant - which one are you? - Duration: 7:52.

Hi there, Vladimir here with another video about how to learn English

This should be fun

Learning a foreign language will most likely be

the most difficult thing you will do as an adult

and by learn, I mean master reach the highest level

because there is no other level to me

Language is what makes us human

therefore you either know it or you shouldn't bother at all

And this is especially true about English, the only true global language

Learning a foreign language is a very complex endeavor

it requires a lot of time and effort

therefore one of the most important questions you need to ask yourself is:

Am I using the most effective and efficient method for learning English?

In other words:

am I wasting my time, money and effort

This video will give you a visual demonstration

of the importance of being both effective and efficient

show the damage you can inflict on yourself and others when you are being wasteful

A short history lesson

After WW2, Germany was divided into 2 unequal parts

On one hand, east hand, right hand

A democratic peoples republic of complete democracy and freedom DDR

under the friendly guidance of the democratic and socialistic and friendly Russia

or is it was known then The Soviet Union of friendly and democratic and socialist republics

the largest country in the world and the richest in natural resources

The other part of Germany, the west part, was occupied by the

imperialistic and capitalistic United States of capitalist and imperialist America

as well as its capitalist puppets Great Britain and France

Germans, both east and west, being the industrious folks that they are

resumed car production

First were the oppressed Germans in the west

Having their factory leveled off during WW2, this little-known company built this car 9 years later

considered one of the best worst in history

which comes to no surprise considering the oppressive and exploitative nature

of capitalism and American imperialism.

The happy and free east Germans follow suit and 3 years after their oppressed brothers

came up with this, this vehicle and they called it Trabant

Mind you, same Germans, same blood, same DNA, only 500 km apart

different means of production, different social and political system, different methods

As you can see both vehicles have 4 wheels, 2 doors, a steering wheel, basically the same thing

both can take you from A to B, as long as B is nearby

30 years later the oppressed west Germans went from that atrocity to this one

The democratic and free east German brothers and sisters made a giant leap forward

and went from that to this

As you can see again no major differences

both vehicles have 4 wheels, windshield wipers a steering wheel, basically the same thing

However, as we all know, appearances can be deceiving

there is so much more than meets the eye

One small difference was that the Trabant was made from cotton,

Let me repeat that, the Trabant was made from cotton

and not just any cotton but from recycled cotton waste

and not just any waste but recycled cotton waste from the Soviet Union

the richest country in the world in terms of natural resources

Cotton waste and paper

The happy and highly trained east German proletariat

used a cotton cutting technique knows as: I couldn't care less about my fingers

Extremely efficient as you can see

On the other hand, the poor and unfree west Germans were using

a production method knows as: where the hell is everybody?

West Germans were so lazy they were using robots to build their cars

By contrast, east German Trabant was handmade

and the most important tool the effective east Germans used was the Hammer

The hammer was such an important tool

so important it was even added to their national emblem

A popular slogan from that era went something like:

There is nothing you cannot fix with a hammer and a bit of wire

Mind you, both videos are taken at roughly the same time, the late 80s

Same Germans, same language, same blood

Different political and economic systems, different methods of production

light years apart

One group of people producing crap, used to produce crap

The other group of people still producing one of the most sought-after cars in the world

enough of that

the moment of truth

you need to ask yourself the following question:

Is your English a Trabant or a Mercedes?

Is your English smooth and pleasant to the ear

or broken and off-putting

and if so, why?

why is your English broken?

Is it because you are using the wrong method?

is it because you are wasting your time?

The way I see it, 99% of you are doing this

hammer people

you are at a crossroads

you can either keep wasting your time watching English learning videos on YouTube

or start reading

And I suggest you start with my book Virtually Native

which will make your study process both more Effective and more Efficient

The fight is for the 1%

My book is available on Amazon and virtuallynative.com

Jose Mourinho explains surprise Scott McTominay decision which cost Man Utd vs West Ham - Duration: 3:22.

McTominay started on the right side of a back three alongside Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof

The 21-year-old midfielder struggled throughout the game and was at fault for West Ham's fifth-minute opener as he failed to track Felipe Anderson

Mourinho's decision to start the Scotland international out of position perplexed many, especially considering the fact he had Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly at his disposal on the bench

Despite his lackluster showing, the Portuguese is adamant McTominay deserved his starting birth, which was handed to him because of his ability to play the ball out from the back

"I want to play [Anthony] Martial," the former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid chief said of his team selection

"Something that you are asking for a long, long, long time to play Martial, I left Alexis [Sanchez] out, and I think that Martial is not a player very, very, very focused on his defensive duties

"And to play him as a second striker and trying just to cover the area of [Declan] Rice would be much easier for him

"And at the same time I felt we needed quality on the ball on the building up from the back and Scott McTominay has that quality with the ball

"Everything that left his foot was correct, was accurate, the passes to Ashley Young on the right, the passes to (Nemanja) Matic, the passes to the striker, everything was accurate from him

"A part of a special character, a special personality, that a team in a negative moment needs this kind of mentality like Scott McTominay has

" Defeat to Manuel Pellegrini's West Ham was the second United suffered in the space of five days, their first coming on Tuesday night at the hands of Championship side Derby County

Mourinho's troops have now lost four of their league games this season, which has lead many - including Red Devils legend Paul Scholes - to believe the club is in a state of crisis

"This club seems to be in a bit of a mess," the former United and England midfielder said

"Whether it's from above Mourinho, we know he didn't get the money he wanted in the summer

"He's been given a lot of money already to spend on players, Lindelof and Bailly especially

It's early days for people like Fred, you do have to give him time. "It just seems like a war right through the club from Ed Woodward to Mourinho and then Mourinho to his players

The players just look unstable." United will look to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night when they welcome Spanish giants Valencia to Old Trafford for their second Champions League game of the season

Mechanical Vs Wooden Pencil | Which to use? Lets Compare - Duration: 4:36.

So you're going to start drawing and you can decide between a mechanical pencil and

a traditional drawing pencil

So let's talk about that. Now the mechanical pencil is

a refillable lid

And what I like about the mechanical pencil is that you can refill it and it lasts a lot longer

than your traditional pencil because

The traditional one you have to keep sharping and replacing the entire pencil

And now with that but when you're drawing with it

The pencil itself will get smaller and that's going to be a lot more difficult for when you're trying to do drawings

Because as it keeps getting smaller and smaller in your hand, you'll have no portion of it that's left

So then you're going to buy a pencil extender, which is going to cost you more money. And then

It's just going to be a half's in the long run. And that's the thing. I like about mechanical pencils is

You don't have to replace the whole pencil

You can keep it and just keep getting different leads. Also, I would like to mention that

you can get different lead types a softer lead or harder lead and

different brands so you're not this stuck with what's inside the pencil as

You do with the traditional ones another difference is going to be the erasers

The erasers on the mechanical pencil is inside of it

And you can replace these

whereas with the traditional drawing pencil

The eraser can't be replaced

And you have to buy a whole new pencil

so what you have to do with the traditional drawing pencils when your eraser runs out is

Put another eraser cap on the end of it that you get to buy separately

The races for the mechanical pencils are a lot smaller so

You can erase finer details from your drawing hair

And you'll get a better look with it

With mechanical pencils, you have more variety such as the 1/2 here

It has a grip at the end of it in

the barrels metal

This grip allows you to draw a lot better and you don't worry about losing grip while you're drawing

Such as when your hands get sweaty with a traditional drawing pencil

We have to buy something extra that goes on to it so that you don't lose your grip such as a pencil grip

With traditional drawing pencils. There's a lot of accessories yet to buy

Just to try to get the effect in the feel of a mechanical pencil

Mechanical pencils come with lead there are different sizes

And because of this you can draw more detailed the mechanical pencil I have here

The way this one works the led inside of it rotates as I'm drawing

So whenever I'm drawing a line

It always stays at a sharp point

Because on the inside of it to lead rotates keeping a sharp point at all times

Whereas it was a traditional drawing pencil, you have to continuously sharpen it to keep its edge

Which can be a hassle while you're drawing

because you can be in the flow of doing a drawing and then you constantly have to stop and

Sharpen the pencil also with the traditional drawing pencil. You have to buy a pencil sharpener

bead electrical one or a small handheld one

And sometimes people sharpen them mainly by hand because you always have to sharpen the traditional drawing pencils so often

you'll go through them a lot faster and

being that these users aren't that cheap when you get name-brand ones or the kind of a very good value and

That are great for drawing

Because the high price you're going to be spending a lot of money long run

So if you want to draw detailed and now I have to worry about constantly sharpening a pencil you

Want something that has a good grip and then while you're drawing such as this one here

the lead rotates inside

so you always have a sharp point and

With the ability to just have more accessories of the mechanical pencil

It's ease of use and the ability to always have a fine point and not have to worry about buying so many pencils. I

Recommend a mechanical pencil. I

Think it'll suit you well for all your drawing needs, so what is your preferred drawing pencil?

traditional or mechanical

Tudor Counsel, Dr Joanne Paul explains the ways in which Tudor monarchs used them - Duration: 2:55.

Someone like Henry the eighth starts out really dependent upon his counsellors,

particularly Wolsey, as time goes on it's less clear who he's listening to and how

much he's listening to them, whether it's all coming from his own whims or whether

he is listening to counsel, but I think the important thing is the expectation

that they were listening to counsel; monarchs who didn't listen to counsel

things tended to go really badly for them or if they were listening to the wrong sort of

counsel; counsel was really an important part of monarchy in the period and to

rule without it was considered to be illegitimate. They were surprisingly

aware of things like the gaze of the spectators, the citizens around them, the

subjects around them and there were attempts to use propaganda to get people

on board or to convince people of things, especially as the period goes on you get

more print propaganda, more things coming from the crown, I guess the important

difference, however, is the place of counsel during the Tudor period, there

was an understanding that counsel was essential; it helped to legitimise rule;

that's almost less the case now and counsellors are often referred to as the

people in the dark, the people that you you don't want being sort of sharing the

spotlight with a politician; I suppose the only counsel that's supposed to

matter at this point, is coming from the people themselves, not the ministers and

advisers and so there's often an attempt to downplay the role that they have. Well

I think Shakespeare was importantly clued in to what was happening

politically at his time, I think the important thing to remember is that in

the period, there wasn't really the same distinction we have now between fiction

or theatre and political writing; there wasn't it's a political writing really

wasn't its own genre so someone like Shakespeare who's writing dramas was in

many ways a political commentator of his own time and that's a political thinker

so Polonius I think is meant to be a critique of political council in the

Elizabethan period. I think he's meant to be a bad good

counselor and a good bad counsellor and what I mean by that is that he's not

very good at being morally good, he he's the the best

counsellor in terms of being a philosopher or a humanist, he's really

bad and sort of bumbling about that, but he is actually quite good at being a

sort of Machiavellian counsellor, so he's good at being a morally bad counsellor, he

does a lot of scheming, it doesn't work out for him hiding behind an arras but

he does a lot of scheming and spying and so he's he's actually sort of the worst

of both worlds and I think Shakespeare was attempting to critique the way that

counsel was being thought about in his own period through Polonius.
