Hello everyone! Alex VapersMD is here and I'm glad to welcome you on my channel
I've been waiting, I've been waiting for Pod system with DNA chipset
EVOLV is on the market for a very long time, they have a whole lot of different chipsets and solutions, but I've been thinking - where's the board for Pod systems?
Pod systems is crazy popular and trendy right now
And recently I received an email from Lost Vape. Guys wrote me this: Alex, here's the thing, you're making reviews and we have a new device coming out
Pod system with DNA GO board
I'm like what the hell is going on? How so? EVOLV DNA GO and Pod system? This is just so cool
I'm telling them: Send it to me, I'm eagerly waiting and I'll make a review
And I received this beauty, I filled it with salt nicotine liquid, got a brutal TH and I didn't liked it
I'm refilling it with regular nicotine liquid
And after some time of testing I can say this - I vaped through over a 10 tanks on this device
Over 10 refills, to be exact. With one reservoir and it still works
Okay, let's figure out in close up. Let's dive down
So, friends, the packaging, it has inscription Orion, a picture of the device itself, warning that this product contain nicotine and small font inscription
At the rear side there's manufacturer's info, barcode and another nicotine warning
Also, on one side we have inscription regarding DNA GO chipset and on another side is written that it has Replay option
But we will talk about it later, after we do the unboxing
So, under the cover we're met by the device itself
Also, there was a sticker on device, but since I got only one sample I had to remove all stickers and test it
And inside we have a lot of interesting stuff
Let's start with this box
Okay, this small box contains 2 additional pods. It's great, because it means that we have 3 pods in total in the kit
Pretty important information of what this pods made of - SS. It designed for 400 puffs, capacity is 3ml. For MTL and DL styles of vaping, resistance is 0.25 and 0.5Ω
All this beaut inside looks like so - individually packed pods in such plastic bags
Don't be surprised that these pods are filled - these are pods I've been testing
One pod I've tested with salt nicotine liquid, other I've tested with regular nicotine liquid
But we'll talk about it later. Let's continue overview of kit contents
Also, in the packaging we have another cover, which hides the branded MicroUSB-USB cable
And branded neck strap - with this you can carry your device on your neck
And at the very bottom lays a bunch of different documentation
There's warranty card, there's mini User guide and full User Manual in various languages
So, folks, now it's time for specs. This Pod is made of zinc alloy and plastic and it's available in various colors
It features replaceable 3ml tanks which could be re-filled, it has mounted drip tip with airflow adjustment option
Also this mod featuring fixed 950mAh battery, Fire button, mode switch button. And, obviously, this mod can be charged via USB
But the main feature of this Pod is the fact, that it's working on EVOLV chipset called DNA GO - it was made specifically for Pod systems
Of course, this chipset could be adjusted through E-scribe software. There's no way that this thing wouldn't support E-scribe, it's DNA chipset after all
And this tiny chipset has built-in Replay system, which we were previously talk about and I told you how exactly it works
The link with review will pop-up in the corner, so you will be able to learn more about this mode
And we're getting to the detailed look and as always we start from the top, where we have a reservoir with fixed drip tip, which has airflow adjustment. Also this Pod has re-fill option
As I said before, this reservoir is made out of plastic and it's available with two resistances - as you can see there's 0.5Ω. Also it can be 0.25Ω
This plastic reservoir can be removed like so
On the side there's plastic lever. We're pushing it down and remove the reservoir like so
Upper part of drip tip is rounded and is made of plastic
Lower there's metal airflow adjustment ring. Adjustment happens like so - you need to turn this ring right or left. Sadly, but there's no stopper
Air is being taken from both sides
Near is the fill slot. It's sealed by this threaded cap
Also there's an o-ring on this cap and there's a metal ring on reservoir for filling
On that matte part there is a transparent windows on both sides
With these windows you can monitor how much liquid is left in the tank
Also, if we take a closer look we'll see the big amount of cotton, which protrudes on one side
But it doesn't on the other side, so the liquid will get to the cotton from this side
And somewhere inside is coil which is made out of SS
I'll explain, why Lost Vape uses SS wire - it's because SS wire is the working the best with Replay mode, which is built-in in DNA chipsets
And since we started talking about chipsets, then let's get to the lower part of this device - the mod
This is mod with fixed 950mAh battery
As I showed you earlier - there's a lever for unplugging the reservoir
This is Fire button, which is delivering the voltage and you can turn this mod On and Off if you press it 5 times
Lower we have mode selection button and small LED
On the side it has seashell-style inlay, Lost Vape logo, this side is blank and on this side it has Orion logo and seashell inlay
Inside there's two screws, contact group and a clip for reservoir
At the bottom is vent holes, two screws and on the side there's small plug which hides the MicroUSB slot for charging
Another important thing - you can use this device in Pass-through mode - you can vape it while you charging it
And now, friends, let's see how is this working
For a start we need to insert the reservoir. It happens like so - first we insert bottom part and after that press down the top until it snap in place
If you can't snap it into place then press down that lever, push on the Pod and let the lever go
Now everything should work
By the way, reservoir is held very firmly - it doesn't wobbling nor rattling and it is great
After that press Fire button 5 times
One, two, three, four, five
Sadly we don't have any notification that mod is turned On, but it's functional - as you can see this LED is flashing
We can turn Off this mod in the same way
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Now when we press fire button nothing happening, voltage is not being delivered. Bug again - there's no visual notification that this mod is Off
After you turn it On you have several ways of using this Pod
When you press Menu button(aka mode selection button) one time - you can see that LED changes its color. And here we have 3 modes
In this moment the wattage is changing
For example, when I used salt nicotine based liquid I'm using very first mode with white LED indication. So it gives not much voltage and I'm not experiencing hard throat hit
But if I use regular nicotine based liquid then I switch into second mode with blue LED indication and I'm completely okay with that
After you chose the mode which is suit your needs - you can start vaping
And all you need to do is press Fire button
But that's not all. After you did one-two-three puffs you can activate Replay mode
To activate it you need to press Menu button and hold it until LED change its color to green
Now Replay mode is on and you can use it
By the way it's pretty good, that MicroUSB slot is at the bottom of device
As you can see, charging has begun and LED will inform you about what's going on - when LED is Red - it means that device is charging
If the LED is constantly green - it means that device is fully charged
When you plug this device in your PC via USB, you are able to use E-scribe software for fine adjustment of this device
Attention, important information. At the moment, E-scribe software doesn't support this device, since this device is in Beta testing stage
But beta of E-scribe software already fully compatible with this chipset
This beta software is for developers and the most cool thing is - I have opportunity to show you how this works. Let's go
Okay, friends, this is a window of E-scribe beta version. As you can see, it's written Evolv DNA Go at the top
Also this is starting screen and you can start making adjustments
Okay, first tab is for DL. As you can see, there's three modes white, blue and red, wattage 10, 13, 15
Also there's Boost settings right away - it's preheat
And adjustment of Replay mode, the color of which you can change as you wish
There another tab which is responsible for MTL. As you can see, it also has wattage and Boost settings
And Replay mode adjustment as well
Next tab draw my attention - it says Display
This is cool, because I didn't understand where's the display. But yeah, there might be the display
As you can see, now the display is Off, because this device has no display, but I think in the future we'll get small systems with the display, it's cool
Next tab is Box mod. First goes the description of resistance of our atomizer. As you can see - 0.2Ω is for DL and 0.47Ω for MTL
Also there's maximum resistance values
Next tab is Safety. As you can see there's Puff time limitation at 5 seconds and Max output power at 40W
Next tab is Battery. Let's not stay here too long and move on
Next tab is Amperage - as you can see there's Max Peak and Sustain amperage limitations and time limitations, as well as minimal resistance
Mechanical specs. There's the tab which is in charge for Fire button. As you can see there's an options - Button-activated or Automatically
So, we're waiting for Pod systems with DNA Go which will be automatically activated during puff
Next tab is Temperature specs. There's some limitations of heating of device and other stuff. I haven't quite figured it out
And Device tab. It's for info. Here will be Manufacturer name and Product name
Last tab is Diagnostic. It's for testing and fine tune of your chipset
As you can see, there's not much settings, especially important ones
But we have pretty interesting tab with statistics. Let's get into the Device monitor tab and here we can see standard window with statistics, like in other products with DNA chipset
Okay, currently you can see the voltage of your battery. Let's see what is gonna happen when we press Fire button
As you can see, first goes peak voltage and after it gradually goes down because Replay mode is active
And, of course, battery graph goes down a bit - it's okay
Let's press Fire button one more time and see how it'll work
It gradually goes down and down. And yes, Replay mode is working in its full beauty
So, friends, I guess this is the only Pod in the world where you can monitor the statistics of your device and your vaping statistics
And last thing we'll do is size comparison
As you can see - yes, it's not the smallest device. Well, not the slimmest device, it's pretty short in height
But it loses in terms of width to all devices on my table
But, anyway, it's still a Pod system of new generation with great chipset
Overall, let's go back to face-time and speak of its pros and cons
Also I'll share some thoughts with you

Overall folks, as you can see this is multinational thing
It also support E-scribe software. It blows my brains
But, anyway, I found several cons in this device and we'll talk about these cons right now
And first con I'll give to this device is for design. Yes, I don't really like how this device looks
It looks like walkie talkie, it looks like a cellphone straight from '90s and it's not very presentable
I dunno, I don't like its design
Next con I'm not giving to the device, I'm giving it to Lost Vape for the fact that they positioning this device as DL and MTL device
Well, folks, I understand in MTL devices a little bit, this tiny bit, and I can't call this device MTL
Yes, of course you can close airflow slots to minimum to almost block the air
But that doesn't mean, that this is MTL device
For this device to be MTL, there must be correct airflow, proper TH and there must be enough flavor
Unfortunately, I didn't find here no correct airflow, proper TH and there's not enough flavor
But yes, this device is DL and restricted DL, but not MTL
I'll try to explain to Lost Vape, because they obviously will watch this video, since I have English subtitles
Guys from Lost Vape - MTL is not just reducing the size of air intake slot, but it's also correct airflow, correct restriction of a draw and correct chamber
Also the height of shaft and etc and etc and etc
There's a lot of delicate moments, which is necessary for correctness of MTL
This device is not MTL, this is device with restricted DL option, but not MTL in no way
I gave a detailed answer, yeah
Let's continue. Last con from me personally as from fan of various drip tips
This device has non-replaceable drip tip, but in defense of this drip tip I'll say that this drip tip is pretty comfortable
Let's move on
Nitpicks
I have a single nitpick to this device - we have to get used to location of Fire button
It's located in the middle of the front panel of device and there's many things besides it on the same panel
And when you just take it in your hands - you'll not always understand which button should you press
So you will need to get used to it, at first it's unusual

Now let's talk about pros
First pro to this device I'll give for chipset
It's obvious. It was shock-content for me, when I learned that Evolv made a chipset for Pod devices
Chipset is working great, Replay mode is working perfectly, I'm satisfied with battery life and there's also an option to fine adjust it with E-scribe software
And things we learned in this software - this chipset has additional features like display and automatic activation option
All of this has potential and I'm very curious how this system will be evolving
Next pro to this device I'll give for convenient re-fill
Though this cap is sticking out and it's not looking very nice, but it's very comfortable to re-fill. So there's the pro for convenient re-fill
Also I'll give it a pro for decent 3ml liquid capacity. Yeah, if you use tighter draw, this amount of liquid will be enough for longer period of time
As well as battery life
Another pro I'll give for convenient location of MicroUSB slot
Yes, you can use this device in Pass-through mode - you can charge it and use it in the same time
So a pro for correct location of MicroUSB slot - in mods ass
Next pro I'll give to airflow adjustment ring. Here's the deal
Even thought this ring don't have a stopper and has nothing to grab for, but adjustment is pretty tight by itself
And it doesn't mess up
And I don't think that you'll be adjusting your airflow on the daily basis
The most important that you adjusted it one time and it won't mess up
Because it's located in uncomfortable place to accidentally turn it. So there's no issues with airflow adjustment ring
Overall, last pro I'll give for compact size
Though it's pretty wide device, but it's short and slim at the same time
It's comfortable to throw it in your pocket and it will not be interfering you
Overall, that was pros of this device
So, folks
Let's summarize
But before we'll talk about price
I think those of you who know and understand what's going on here - chipset by Evolv, you all know that price tag wouldn't be 15$ for sure
On the web price tag vary from 55 to 80$
80$ for such device...Is expensive
It's freaking expensive
It's...damn, this is really freaky expensive
55$ is acceptable. But again - what do we get for 55$?
You're getting a device which you can only re-fill and charge it via USB only
And use all the functional of Evolv chipset
Anyway, sooner or later, all three pods from the kit will end and you'll have to buy new ones
Unfortunately, I didn't found prices of these reservoirs, but I think it won't be cheap as well
Because it's separate mechanism with drip tip, with airflow adjustment, with metal cap
Well, I believe that this thing is gonna be expensive
So overall, 55$ is expensive as well. For Pod system
Yeah, chipset by Evolv affect the price. This is natural and you can't argue with that
Well, guys decided to design this chipset and they understood very well, that devices with this chipset will be expensive
My first thought when I just know about this device - Damn, what will be with price?
I was scared to imagine what is this Pod system and how much it's gonna cost
And yeah, I wasn't surprised when I saw 80$ price tag
Overall, friends. Let's summarize. What can I say?
I don't know
Who is gonna buy this? Apparently fans of Evolv chipset and fans of Replay mode
For form I'll explain - Replay is simplified TC mode, which will prevent your cotton from burning if you ran out of liquid in your tank
Will I use this device? You know, I've been using it for a long time and I like it
But still, MTL type of draw takes its own and I'm constantly return to proper MTL tank
To get correct MTL draw with proper throat hit and with nice flavor
And this thing is more mobile. You can take it when you go out to the city and this device won't bother you in terms of size
So you just taken it out, turned it On, vaped it, turned it Off and thrown it back to your pocket
But anyway, this thing remains expensive for a lot of people
I think many would like to have such a thing in their arsenal, but not many can afford it
