Sampdoria means a lot to me,
after having had a great season last year,
starring in so many matches of such a tough league.
The club really does mean a lot.
I'm very happy to be here
and stay in this team, this family,
because it's like a family to me now.
I'm delighted.
It was hard for me to join a Serie A team
following two seasons in Serie B.
We all know they're different competitions,
two different kettles of fish.
The players are different and it's a bit harder.
Nevertheless, I've fitted right in.
The city and its people gave me a first-class welcome.
My team-mates, the coaches, physios and kit-men
have all been amazing.
I'm very pleased an agreement came together
between my people and Sampdoria.
It's what everyone wanted
and it's in my best interests.
I'm very happy and I want to thank many people,
like my agent, adviser, everyone around me,
friends and family,
and obviously the Sampdoria family -
as I said before. A lot has been said recently,
but the truth is I had so much desire
to stay here
and I can't wait to begin the season.
