MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to stump up over £40million to land Nemanja Matic, according to reports. Jose Mourinho had Eric Dier as his No1 transfer target but has been forced to look elsewhere with Tottenham refusing to sell.
Manchester United are willing to spend over £40million to get Nemanja Matic.
Nemanja Matic is keen for a reunion with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho. And now the Independent are reporting that United are turning their attention to Matic and are willing to fork out a huge sum to get him.
United believed the Blues would refuse to do business with them after they hijacked a deal for Evertons Romelu Lukaku.
But the Serbian international has made it clear he wants to leave Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford is where he wants to go. Juventus were interested in the former Benfica star but are said to have been put off by his price-tag.
Following the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, Matic's opportunities for first team football at Chelsea look limited. The 28-year-old is keen to reignite his relationship with Jose Mourinho, with the pair already associates from their time at Stamford Bridge.
Nemanja Matic has been told by Chelsea he can leave the club.
Chelsea want at least £40million for midfielder Nemanja Matic. However, the Blues have already turned down United's initial offer of £35m.
Matic is under contract with Chelsea until June 2019, but last term's Premier League champions are willing to offload him. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly given the green light for Matic to move to their Premier League rivals.

DANCE VIDEO Didn't Go As Planned! - Duration: 4:01.
Hello and welcome back to the Mach Project!
So, today's dance video didn't go as planned.
At all!
See, last weekend I found a good song.
And then I had these perfect ideas in my head for the dancing.
Then I practiced those ideas, in parts.
Then last Wednesday, after work, I went to a park.
And then I tried to do the whole dance in one go.
And I couldn't do it!
I was getting so tired, so quickly.
I keep forgetting that I'm in my 30's and that I started
following my passions so late in life.
So yeah, it was a kinda like a big slap from reality.
Hey Mark!
You just started recently!
So don't expect to be top tier.
So I split up the dance into 2 cuts instead.
But even then, I was still getting tired.
And I couldn't do what I actually wanted to do.
So I had to freestyle what I COULD do on the spot.
Then there were other times where I would just pause.
Because I didn't know what to do.
And then there were other times when my movements would slow down.
And I'd stop smiling, because the fatigue was hitting me pretty hard.
Anyways!
Here's what it all looked like.
So yeah.
As you can see, it wasn't actually that bad.
Actually, it was quite good!
It just wasn't.....perfect.
I was actually gonna do the whole thing again yesterday.
To see if I could make it perfect.
But then I thought, "You know what?
It doesn't have to be perfect."
Cuz, that's what makes us human, right?
And that's kinda the direction I want to take this channel now.
See I've noticed that there hasn't been that much engagement between us.
And I've been thinking of ways to improve that!
To make this a more, interactive and an engaging experience for you.
And the ideas that I have in my mind, I'll be talking about those - tomorrow!
Of course, I'd love to hear YOUR suggestions as well.

ARSENAL fear star striker Alexis Sanchez is about to down tools in a bid to force his way out of the club. And the £50million-rated star's Chile international team-mate Claudio Bravo told him: "We'd welcome you at Manchester City.
Alexis Sanchez uploaded this photo of him with his dog, saying that he is sick.
There are genuine fears Alexis Sanchez could refuse to play for Arsenal in order to force a move elsewhere.
Sanchez, 28, is in the final year of his contract and has set his heart on a move to the Etihad or Paris Saint-Germain.
He is due to report back for pre-season training tomorrow after being given an extended summer break by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
No one at the club knows if he will turn up after he posted an Instagram selfie claiming to be "sick" and his representatives then saying he has flu.
Wenger has told Sanchez he must see out his contract, despite making it clear he wants to leave.
And City keeper Bravo added fuel to the fire by insisting: "If he decides to go, we'll wait for him with open arms at City.
Sanchez has rejected a £275,000-a-week deal to stay at Arsenal and is now deciding whether to make a formal transfer request.
Alexis Sanchez is believed to have flu, and it is not known if he will return to Arsenal fit to train. Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith feels the club have to cash in now.
He told talkSPORT: "It's a no-brainer. You've got to let him go, get the money and move on. "At Arsenal it's happened time and time again when players are allowed to run their contracts down.
"What the owners think about keeping a player you could get £60m for and then letting him go for nothing in 12 months' time, I don't know.
