CNG kit maintenance part 1. Car CNG gas kit repair and maintenance - Duration: 10:46.

In this video series I am showing CNG LPG gas kit repair and maintenance. This is a four parts series in which I will cover almost all details about its maintenance. this is important because most cars have such kits in them.

As this topic is big enough that it will be covered in a few parts of videos like 3 or 4 parts. You people must watch all parts to get complete information about the gas kit.

Maintenance on a gas kit is important because after a certain time it accumulates debris which is giving drive ability problems and poor starting conditions.

This is a carburetor car. There is no throttle body in it. The fuel and air are fed in the carburetor.

The problem with this car is it is not idling, it is not staying start instead it is dying on the road when slow running. There is poor and difficult starting condition.

It is stalling when the foot is not on the gas or accelerator pedal.

There is a poor starting condition for this car. Especially it is big problem when one is getting stuck in traffic rush and the car refuse to start.

The CNG and LPG operated cars or natural gas cars gas kit needs maintenance and repair after certain interval to make the starting and running of the car in good condition.

Long time this kit had not been maintained. This video is of very importance or have great value for those who have natural gas or CNG operated cars.

Maximum people here have such fuel operated cars with them and I received many request to do video series on CNG or LPG natural gas kit repair and maintenance.

I will try to shoot all details on the gas kit maintenance and repair so that anybody with a few basic tools and little knowledge can do maintenance on their own car easily and successfully.

It needs very few tools and a little skill to do such maintenance. For that it is important to watch all parts of the series and then attempt this job.

I am giving first a little demonstration and explanation of the kit that what actually is this kit doing. How it functions so that one can understand the basic principle. Then it will be easy to understand the maintenance.

The gas line is entering in the kit first which is coming from the gas cylinder. There is gauge installed here to show the pressure. The pressure here is up to 220 Bars.

There there are a few diaphragms and two solenoids to regulate the gas pressure to a low level. Solenoids are controlling the gas flow.

Both the solenoids are getting 12V controlled power in parallel when the system is on.

When the solenoids are on the gas is entering the kit where it is regulated to low pressure.

The outlet of the gas kit is supplies through a big diameter pipe to the carburetor. where the gas fuel is mixed with the air which is intake to the engine.

The kit works on the principle of negative pressure or negative displacement. When the engine operates it produces vacuum which operates the kit and the kits sends the gas to fill up the vacuum.

The quantity of the gas is proportional to the vacuum. Hence it is a regulated automatic control according to the car acceleration and speed.

This was a little detail of the gas kit how it works.

The problem with these kit is they accumulates dirt, debris and liquid part of the gas.

The liquid portion of the gas substance is creating problem with the gas kit functionality hence it creates drive ability problems.

It is important after certain time to maintain and clean these kits to make them in good working condition.

We will inspect inside and if some part went bad, we will replace that also.

First we will switch off the gas control valve on the gas cylinder to switch off the gas flow.

On the CNG cylinder we will shut off the control valve here in the trunk to stop the gas flow.

Sometimes the positions are written and marked and sometimes not. But anyhow we will shut the valve to stop the gas flow.

We will loose and open the pipe nut using an open spanner or adjustable wrench.

When we will loose the nut it will release a little pressure once which is normal.

I am showing all details here so that anybody who is about to attempt such a job will be able to do it without facing any difficulty.

Now as you can see the input pipe had been removed.

We will keep the pipe side so that it may not come in our way.

Now I will remove Electrical connections for the gas kit. Electrical for the gas kit is simple enough. We have a parallel positive and ground connections to be removed.

Three connections are there for the gauge unit. On the gauge unit there will be a complete video I may upload to give complete understanding on gas gauge electronics.

Here is the gauge sense wire. This is going to the CNG kit control unit to show the gas tank level through pressure by glowing four LEDs.

The 12V DC positive wire for the gauge unit for kit we are going to cut. We are using pliers to cut this wire. Latter on we will joint and tape it again.

All the ground connections we will remove from the kit by opening the nut and bolt from the gas kit.

this all is what we do is to remove the gas kit off from the car engine compartment.

The nut bolts and washers we will secure in some good place so that in the end of the job we will supply all of them back to the car and to the gas kit itself.

There is one stud underneath which is 10mm in size. We will use some 10mm open spanner or an adjustable wrench to open that stud.

We will open one Phillips screw using a screw driver to remove the gas kit outlet pipe which is going to the carburetor.

It is better to remove the negative post of the battery prior to the work to avoid any damage due to any possible short circuit during work.

After removing every thing from the gas kit now is the time to remove the gas kit off the car and bring it out of the engine compartment for service and repair.

Now it is off the car and we will inspect this kit from out side first.

You can see this kit is oily and that is due to the oil component of the gas.

We will open this gas kit in the next part of the video. Opening of the kit is not very difficult. It needs to remove all part from the kit, clean and inspect inside.

I will show you everything step by step to give understanding of every part.

As this is a step by step instruction guide so I have shown in this first part how to remove CNG gas kit from the car. Next parts of the video will cover more details.

This kit is famous Landy Renzo mad in Italy. They are very popular and common among gas kits.

The stamping is there on the kit itself.
