And, so a year ago I didn't know it but…
going to the IJK changed my life.

And should everyone go to the IJK?
Well yes, obviously.
Yes, I recommend it to everybody. Go to the IJK.
Particularly next year becaus I am one of the organizors.

It's in Badajoz.

It's in Spain. It's some town near the,
the border with Portugal.
Good weather… We will even have a swimming pool.

So the Universal Kongres will happen in Lisbon, near the… quite nearby.

I expect a very nice atmosphere, and geat weather.
Many cool esperantists will participate.

It was a chaotic situation. It was the…
I didn't participate in many IJK's, It was my 2nd one.
But still probably the most unusual IJK.
But uh… So Africa is Africa.
I don't know how to say that.
The culture was different.
Togo is full… A very poor country and wasn't as accustomed to tourists as other countries.
So anyway that was very new for all of us, even for the Africans.
We were like strangers because we were white and [they] aren't used to having white people like that.
The people wanted to …?… with you. And so…
The experience as a thaveler was different and we weren't there only as tourists more than usual.
You are with locals and you don't feel like you're a stranger.
So you are already an esperantist, because you are with esperantist.
So it was always cool. And even though it was so chaotic and badly organised, it didn't matter.
Very cool.
But it wasn't a usual experience of the IJK. The programming didn't work well.
We expected that.
Because we already knew abouth their lack of resources.
Was it a succes all the same?
Jes, I would say it was.
So many of them never had been to a large [esperanto] gathering. It was the largest gathering in Africa… Ever!
Because we were more than a hundred participants.
I think a hundred and twenty were there.
Something like that.
