Exorcists Try To "Cast Demons" Out Of Gay College Student - Duration: 5:57.
My name is Samuel Johnson and I am from Boston, Massachusetts.
So, I grew up in the Pentecostal tradition of Christianity.
After a long, hard childhood of growing up in that particular denomination, I went off
to a Christian university called Liberty University, which is in Lynchburg, Virginia.
During my time there I enrolled into a group called "Lust-Free Living."
This was designed to get students to wait until marriage, abstinence, sexual purity,
etc., etc., etc.
So when I noticed I was specifically attracted to men, I enrolled in an ex-gay group at the
school.
I was not allowed to have any kind of sexual activity outside of a marriage between a man
and a woman, which included solo sex.
During my time at university, I did notice that some of the men on my dorm were very
attractive.
And I believe there were certain guys who were becoming suspicious of my same-sex attraction.
So I was reported to the RAs, as well as avoided by a lot of the guys.
So due to the social problems I was having and the religious abuse I was experiencing,
I ended up, you know, not doing so well in classes, so ultimately I had to make the decision
to drop out and go to a public school in hopes that I'll be able to be more successful there
overall and earn my degree.
So one night, when I was having a conversation with this friend, I told him about a few of
the struggles I was having, one of them, of course, you know, the fact that I'm attracted
to men and not women.
So he recommended that I go visit this exorcist.
On a Friday night, after classes got finished, one of my friends picked me up from my apartment
and we went across town.
When I got there, I walked into the place and I sat down and the church service began.
So after the service, the sanctuary began to clear out and I was at the altar.
I went over to the exorcist and we had a brief discussion about what I was going through
before exorcism began.
He also asked me if I struggling with homosexuality.
I told him yes.
He first started by placing some oil on my head in the form of a cross.
So both him and his wife began to pray over me and they asked me to breathe in and breathe
out at different times while they were trying to, quote, cast demons out of me, unquote.
And so, not only were they speaking in English but they were also praying in tongues.
A few months had passed and nothing had changed.
So there came a moment where it just hit me, "Oh.
I might be gay."
I decided to do some research on the side.
So what I came across was a video by Matthew Vines in regards to a debate on homosexuality
and the bible.
So as a result of watching that video, I began my own journey of questioning the bible and
reevaluating my entire life.
I started my coming out process.
Within a few months after going through my coming out process, I had a point during the
summer in which I was out one night in my apartment complex.
I stumbled upon this party that I saw a friend at.
I ended up having a moment in which I brought a guy to my apartment.
And I will say making out with that guy in particular, that was a really good moment
to help me understand that being gay is perfectly natural.
So about the next month, I graduated from college, and then about a few months later,
that's when I was able to solidify that gay is okay, and I'm perfect just the way
I am.
I relocated back to Boston.
Then came the month of June, this being my first ever pride month as an openly gay man.
I recall a specific moment when I was marching down Charles Street and then I made that right
to march up Beacon Hill for the final stretch of the parade.
As I was marching up that hill, I had this very powerful moment in realizing how beautiful
my life truly is.
I'm singing, I'm dancing, I'm chanting, and there are hundreds of people on the sidelines
cheering for me, and I'm just having one of the best moments of my life at that time.
Some people will ask me, "Is it possible for you to become straight?"
Well, let me tell you this.
After growing up in the pentecostal tradition, where they pray in tongues, people are slaying
the spirit, prayers, fasting, conferences, retreats, exorcisms, ex-gay therapy groups
of all kinds - I would definitely say that it is definitely not possible for people to
turn from gay to straight.
Besides, we're all made this way for a reason.
And if being gay is so bad, why are we so cute, and why are we just so amazing in life?

It is so easy to make if we make different shapes or angles of tools, we can create different flowers how you see on the photos.
So many possibilities to decorate our dishes with these tools.
The lid from the can is very sharp and it makes perfect garnish tool.
I cover edges with a tape but we also can bend edges.
To make simple cuts on the fruits and vegetables we can make with the tool and it will be a very beautiful flower!
This cuts impossible to make so beautiful and even cuts with a kitchen knife.
We can use this technique to make flowers from cucumber and carrots to decorate salads.
Like an example, with the same tool, I am going to make a flower from a cucumber.
We can make fancy cuts or flowers from vegetables and fruits with hard to cut skin.
Like example, I cut butternut squash and avocado with skin.

Why So Much Small Talk in the USA? - Duration: 6:32.
Hey everyone, Dana here!
Why do Americans spend so much time on small talk that nobody actually cares about?
It's a total waste of time...or is it?
As I mentioned in my video about the American hi, how are you?
I often get questions about Americans being fake or insincere.
And this often connects into questions about small talk.
So today I'm going to try to explain why small talk the best that I can.
Let's start by saying that I, personally, usually enjoy a little small talk, but not
all Americans do.
Small talk is more common in the U.S. and more a part of the culture there but that
definitely does not mean that all Americans love small talk.
Okay, so when is small talk used and what should you talk about?
Really good question, and one that is very hard to answer because, from growing up in
the U.S., I just kind of feel when it's right and intuitively know which topics to
talk about and which are off-limits by reading the situation and the people around me.
Because in the end, small talk topics really, really vary depending on many variables, including
who you're talking to and where and when.
Small talk at a party with someone I've met a couple times would go a little deeper
than small talk with the cashier at the grocery store.
There's surface-level small talk, like about traffic or all that crazy construction going
on around town, and then there's small talk that makes a bit more of a connection, maybe
where you went on vacation or your plans for an upcoming holiday.
And often, especially at a party, small talk will start out as an ice breaker, so something
more surface level, and then get more personal as the evening moves on and you start to feel
more comfortable with the person you're talking to.
So in that way, small talk helps get me feeling more comfortable at a party and feeling more comfortable
to talk about other things.
I can often tell from small talk if I have anything in common with the other person or
if maybe I should move along and find someone else to talk to.
But I can at least give you some topics that are not good for small talk: politics, money,
sex, religion, or basically anything too personal.
For example, jumping right away into personal medical problems is not really good for general
small talk.
To answer one particular small talk question that I got: if you're a cashier at a store
for example, don't you get bored having the same small talk over and over and over
again so many times every day?
Well, from my own personal experience, no.
I didn't work in a supermarket, but I did work in a hotel at the reception desk, and
I can tell you that I truly enjoyed making small talk with the people checking in.
They'd often tell me about where they were traveling from, what they had planned for
their vacation; we would chat about local restaurants.
Some people shared more about their trips and others shared less, and it didn't get boring
because the conversations really changed depending on the people.
And, yeah, I really enjoyed making that connection with them.
Which brings me to the question of why small talk.
Why do people do it?
Isn't it a waste of time?
For me personally, because it makes a connection with another human being on this planet.
A connection that sometimes is just really, really quick and stays right at the surface,
and other times does lead to more in-depth conversations and maybe even friendship.
Let's say I'm just not having a great day.
I spill my coffee in the morning, I stub my toe against the door frame, whatever, it's
not going well.
Then I stop by the store and the cashier makes a little small talk with me.
It brings me out of my bad mood.
We laugh about a TV show or something funny that her dog did.
And suddenly I find myself leaving the store with a smile on my face.
The small talk wasn't a deep ever-lasting connection, but the connection we made did
genuinely put me in a better mood, and then I take that better mood, for example, into
the office, where I'm then kinder to people than I would have been as Grumpy Dana, and
they're in turn then kinder to other people as well, and on and on and on.
And there's at least one study to back me up.
In a study published in 2014 in Social Psychological and Personality Science, researchers from
the University of British Columbia found that the study participants who had some kind of
social interaction with the barista at a cafe ended up feeling more of a sense of belonging
and in the end happier than the people who had just tried to be as efficient as possible.

Resident Evil 7 | Why Is Ethan Winters So Boring | RE7 Characters & Development - Duration: 3:14.
Despite Resident Evil 7's main character Ethan Winters being an everyman who against
all odds defeats insane mutations, that even Umbrella Mercenaries seem to be avoiding,
single handedly to save the beautiful girl, fans find him quite frankly, boooooriinnnnng.
In fact, after reviewing hundreds of comments, it appears there is a large contingent of
people who love Clancy, the poor side character cameraman
who got caught up in the situation.
So why did Capcom make this interesting main character choice, and why is Ethan Winters
so gosh darn boring in:
RESDIENT EVIL 7
Capcom's answer to that question is, immersion.
From day 1 of development they wanted the player to be immersed in the situation.
The first person view, the PSVR compatibility, the unknown character.
They didn't want you to waste time focusing on the backstory of the protagonist, but instead
keep you focused on the horror experience going forward, picturing yourself in the situation.
To them, realism was the key.
While on paper, that sounds good, it didn't really translate the way they wanted it to
with fans.
Ethan was not just quiet.
He was down right bland.
The man was in the midst of one of the most terrifying experiences anyone can ever have,
and he didn't even seem to react.
Oh hey my wife whom I love and cried over is about to kill me….
[heavy breathing]
Even if he did have bioweapon experience, unless he was a soulless sociopath, he should
have at least displayed some emotion.
I don't know how that worked for you, but for me, it kind of BROKE that immersion they
were trying to enhance.
"I'm sorry, I really am"
Ethan's biggest reaction of the game comes during that exciting video game classic moment
we will never forget…when he sees some socks...
Ohhh sick burn bro!
The personality was one thing, but the illogical decisions were bizarre He shows up alone.
He sees a nice elderly farmer. and he doesn't even holler and ask if he'd seen his wife.
He's also there out of his own free will chasing a woman who was not even relatable
as a loving wife whereas beloved Clancy "I'm not even supposed to be here today".
I know I'm giving him a hard time, he wasn't that boring.
There are crazy people in this house trying to kill me.

yourself into the body.
