Youtube daily what Feb 2 2019

What's wrong with you right now? Sorry something went wrong try again in a few

seconds. Very typical right now if your Google

Home or your Google Assistant enabled device is struggling right now and

you're wondering what's going on I have some opinions with some good research to

give you here on what's going on and when we might see some of this led up

now what I'm telling you is there's a bit of a difference right now I have

never had the amount of issues that I'm having in my own home at this time and

there's really nothing that has changed here for me the most of the people that

I'm getting reports from and I've been you know soliciting some of these

reports for the last couple of weeks most of the reports are are very similar

people haven't changed anything in their homes they haven't changed anything on

their Google Home or their Google Assistant and suddenly functionality has

stopped working so what is going on what are these issues you know for myself

I've had my devices waking without any wake word or any sound in the home not

just not just you know ambient noise going on there is literally no sound I'm

sitting and my devices are waking up I've sent those reports to Google and

they've started to look into them and I'll let you guys know when I get

something back from them but you know they were very helpful at that point I

should always mention how helpful they've been with lots of these issues

with me I've also had multiple of my Google Home and my Google Assistant

devices disconnecting and then needing a full reset or a full factory reset and a

set up again in some cases where they're just stuck in an odd place and you can't

get them set up I've also had Google Chromecasts and I have had some Google

Chromecasts in my home working flawlessly for three years suddenly dying and I

have multiple people who've contacted me for support with that same very same

issue with Google Chromecast that they've had

for years showing up or disappearing sorry rather in their homes just

disappearing and being unable to be contacted and and having to factory

reset the devices as well on top of that what we're also seeing and if you look

at reddit right now you can see a lot of issues in the Google Home communities

and you can see this in Google's own communities lots of people are

struggling with devices they've had connected for years again or at least

for a year you know with a Google Home device but Google Assistant home control

those devices have been struggling in some cases you're just not able to get

exactly the device you want or it can't find the devices anymore or you know we

had the needs more information issue show up here very recently and just lots

of home control and then simple query issues where Google just does not seem

to be able to answer our answer what it was capable of months ago so let's talk

about what's going on or what I think is going on so through lots of research

through again you know different forums different communities and people who are

relatively regarded as product experts within the Google Home suite of products

or Google Assistant here are saying that the latest firmware push does have a

number of issues in them and what's being worked on in the background and as

part of this firmware push is things like Google Duplex so Google Duplex is

what I think is our main issue and actually one of our subscribers here

Dorothy is her name and she's been here for a long time and she always tells me

how things are going with her Google Home products and one of the things she

said is that my Google Home is much better conversationally the Google

Assistant is so much better at reading things back and just in general in terms

of conversation and what I'm telling you is Google Duplex has been deployed and

not just on our devices but also on the server

Google side now why do I say that well if you're thinking about deployment it's

really hard to deploy Duplex on a few phones in a few select cities in one

country and have it really be limited and have everyone else in the world

using a different set of servers and a different set it's just not gonna work

out so what I'm telling you is the code for Duplex is out there and that is

messing with everything right now not only that but I believe behind

everything that Google is doing part of Duplex and part of the coding going on

and part of the AI implementation is to fix their routines on top of that we

know the whole lists capability is being adjusted on the fly because we've seen a

partial release of the ability to create different lists but when you go and you

do that your Assistant can no longer add things to your shopping list for example

so that's another capability or function that we know is in the midst of

deployment he saw all the latest features from CES the auto-translation

feature we know that was capable on Pixel Buds a while ago but now deploying

it to all of these or attempting that development is going to take a lot of

resources on top of that if you think about Google Assistant's deployment on

Google Maps in both Android and iOS the ability to actually utilize that in some

new functions that are being placed into that are also going to be not only

stretching development resources but having to be tested at this point with

your Google Assistant the relatively new iOS and Android application layout and

we know that there's issues with that but that's also taking away development

resources and we're seeing consistent upgrades and changes to that application

to catch up right now with what's being asked for for people we know the drop in

capability or what Amazon calls their drop in capability is being worked at on

as well and so you know you're seeing this massive massive change in

capabilities in functionality that really what I'll tell you is

unprecedented in terms of any sort of software I've ever seen you know you

think back to Microsoft's deployments of things like service packs on their OS

and I liken this to that because we're talking about implementation of an AI on

millions of devices out in the field and in terms of the Google Assistant

billions of devices now not everyone is getting all of that functionality but

what I'm telling you is all of that is coming to some people at some time and

it's relatively soon I think we are months now away from a full deployment

of Duplex in the US and I would say we're under a month away from that

deployment of Duplex if not you know latest I think we're two months away

from that full deployment in the US and most of those capabilities that I've

talked about here and most of these changes that I've talked about three to

four months away and so right now all of that testing is going on because lots of

that code has had to go live and it has had to be tested by Google employees in

a live system in a live environment so with all this said with this massive

massive deployment that's already gone on in the background as far as I'm

concerned and this massive massive deployment that I think is going to go

on in the next couple of months where does this leave us ultimately it leads

us with our devices struggling right now and you know what I think we're going to

have to live with it here for another month or two I've already seen some

issues even out go away and then I've seen other ones crop up so I think this

is going to go on for a little while longer I don't think we're getting out

of this anytime soon but within a couple of months I think

you will have a massive massive increase in Google assistant capabilities

including full deployment of do in the US and as well as lots of these

other features all over the world the other thing is that real-time

translation and their focus on the international market I do think you

international folks outside of continental North America here I do

think you're about to get a massive increase in features as well in 2019 and

I would say in the first half of 2019 so guys this is what I can give you today

you know I hope this is helping you see a little bit of the light and also

understand a little bit of what's going on with your Google home products so let

me know in the comments below I'm open to other suggestions because again this

is research I've been doing here for the last few weeks this is what I'm finding

and you know what there's going to be things that other people are finding

right now and I am open to that and I want to have an open honest discussion

about this right now I'm not here to attack Google and I'm not here to defend

Google as well just giving you my opinion and trying to help you see

what's coming no guys this is the kind of content and insight that I am giving

my Patreon subscribers so basically patreon if you don't know what it is it

is a subscription service that you can go you can pledge different amounts on a

monthly basis it goes from $1.00 to $100 and at different levels you get

you is it's stuff like this that I am giving those people who have already

pledged have already joined up on our patreon page and I'd love to have more

people over there so I can continue to give better and better insight service

and capability now I've already had lots of those people provide me new questions

Explaining my Gender: What is a Nonbinary Woman? [CC] - Duration: 8:22.

Hello, this is Anna.

In one of my last videos, I came out as a nonbinary woman.

If you want, you can watch it, I put the link below.

I did give a little explanation of what it means,

quoting a definition by Riley J. Dennis, whom I was drawing in that video.

While this was a very good explanation of what "nonbinary woman" can mean,

and I got really excited when I first heard it,

I've been thinking a lot about how I, myself,

would explain my gender and had some other ideas how to more accurately explain and visualize it.

Now, I want to make it clear that this is how I define it for myself

and not everybody who is nonbinary necessarily sees it the same way.

I would like to start with the gender binary.

The two gender categories most of us grow up with are, of course, man and woman.

Usually, we're assigned one of these at birth, depending on our genitals.

Babies with vulvas are categorized as "girls" and babies with penises are categorized as "boys".

Side note: This is a very unreliable way of identifying someone's sex because

a) there are more than two different kinds of genitals

and b) there are more factors than just genitals that determine biological sex.

I'm going to link another video by Riley J. Dennis below,

because I could not explain it any better than she already has.

But let's go back to this image here.

We have two circles, one with an "M" for men and one with a "W" for women.

We are assigned one of them at birth, based on our genitals.

But even if we stayed in this binary for a moment and looked closer at how society defines gender,

we can quickly find more things that supposedly are connected to our genders, right?

Men aren't just "humans with penises" and women aren't just "humans with vulvas".

We have a whole set of characteristics that we define as "manly" or "masculine"

and their opposites, which we define as "womanly" or "feminine".

That can be our behavior or personality traits, for example being active vs. being passive.

Or being dominant vs. being submissive.

Being rational vs. being emotional.

It can also be the shapes of our bodies or certain abilities,

like being physically strong and muscular vs. being weak and fragile.

Also the way we dress our bodies, the way we move, the way we talk…

almost every characteristic about us is classified as pairs of opposites in these two categories.

And while sometimes it's quite acceptable if a person from one category

has a personality trait or ability that we would categorize with the opposite,

like, for example, when a woman is or good at assembling her own furniture,

we usually find it irritating when people we would classify in one category have too many characteristics

that we associate with the opposite one.

We are even more confused if we can't tell by looking at someone which category they're in.

What I'm trying to say is that the way we define gender depends on way more than just our genitals.

What I also want to say is that this is all crap.

I say, that all of these characteristics are not "masculine", or "manly"

and they're also not "feminine" or "womanly".

They are just neutral characteristics that people of any gender can have.

And sometimes, some of them are a big part of how they express THEIR individual gender,

but they are not immutably linked to one particular gender.

For example, a person can identify as a woman and have a lot of characteristics about them

that society would categorize as "masculine".

She would still be a woman because her gender expression is not the same as her gender.

So.. let me conclude what we have so far.

It's not our biological sex that defines our gender.

It's also not the way we dress or behave or any personality traits that determine our gender.

So what is it? I think it's best explained by saying: It is a feeling.

If you feel like you are a woman, then you are a woman.

If you feel like you are a man, you are a man.

And there are some people who don't feel like a man or a woman, or who feel like both.

And that often is explained by drawing this line between "Men" and "Women", like here.

So it's a spectrum, and you can be anywhere on this spectrum.

So, a person who is right in the middle would be 50% woman and 50% man.

Or someone here might be 20% woman and 80% man. Right?

This is a very good way of explaining that there are, in fact, more than two genders.

But for me, it's still too limiting. My problem is this:

As I said, "M" and "W" are defined as opposites.

That means, they are always defined in relation to one another.

A man is defined as "not a woman" and a woman is "not a man".

They are two opposites complementing each other.

And this does not change much by just drawing a line between the two.

All the genders on this line are still defined in relation to those two categories.

As I said, 50% man and 50% woman. 20% woman and 80% man.

Those are all people who still live between these two binary poles. It is still a dualism.

I'm not saying it's wrong to identify on that line.

If that's where you are, it's absolutely valid. It is just not where I am.

I identify as a nonbinary woman.

To explain what that means, I would like to look at the "nonbinary" part first.

I am a woman, but not a 100%. If we use this graphic,

that would mean I move a little bit on that line away from the "W".

The problem is that this automatically implies that I am closer to the "man" side of the spectrum.

Like, maybe, 70% woman and 30% man.

But what if those 30% are not "man"?

What If I feel like a woman and, in part, neutral?

What If I feel like a woman and, in part, a third gender? Or a fourth?

Now, secondly, let's look at what "woman" means, because we have many different definitions of "woman".

If "woman" is defined in a very traditional, conservative way, then it's not really the right category for me at all.

That doesn't mean I have nothing in common with that category, but I just don't really fit in there.

But there are other definitions of the term, and some of them feel more like me than others.

So.. If I'm a woman or not is kind of relative, depending on which definition I go with.

I go with "it's a feeling". And, what's most important for my own definition

is that I am not a woman as in "opposite of a man".

I am not a woman as one of two complementary categories, so let's remove that line.

And now look at what we have: it's not a binary anymore.

It's a pluralism, a gender diversity!

There are many different genders,

and they are not all defined in relation to these two traditional gender categories.

They are their own categories. And all of them can overlap.

So, in my case, I am, to some extent, a woman, but I am also a little bit of this,

and this, and this, and maybe even a tiny bit of this.

And that's why I identify as a woman who is also "genderqueer" or "nonbinary".

What is a Tabata Workout? Longmont Chiropractor explains how you can workout in 16 minutes. - Duration: 4:58.

- Hi gang,

I'm Dr. Jay from New Leaf Chiropractic

and Family Wellness,

and I want you to meet the workout Tabata today.

So Tabata was actually developed by a Japanese researcher

and Dr. Tabata.

And I always thought it was like Tabitha or something

or why they put this in here but it's actually Dr. Tabata.

And what he figured out is that 16 minutes of work,

high intensity work,

actually in the study group,

got better results than like an hour,

people who were just kind of doing mediocre,

long distance type workouts.

So my wife went to the gym the other day.

She's likes, ah, I don't really know if I can go.

I've only got 30 minutes.

And oh perfect, 30 minutes,

that means use Tabata right?

So what's a Tabata workout?

Tabata means exactly 16 minutes of work.

And just like this suggests,

you're basically going to be repeating this 30 second cycle

where you're doing 20 seconds of work

and then 10 seconds of rest.

The formula, you multiply that times eight.

So you're going to pick four different workouts to do.

My four favorite and most frequent done,

air squats and I'll demonstrate these.

Air squats, something core,

pull-ups or some version of pull-ups, and push-ups.

So you're getting a pulling group in,

you're getting a pushing group in,

you're getting a core group in,

and you're also going to be getting some leg work in.

So ah, okay,

20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest.

And you're going to do that eight different times.

And you can do that for four different movements total.

Right, so you're going to have four minutes of work,

of air squats,

four minutes of work, push-ups,

four minutes of work, up the next.

And then the core exercise for a total

of 16 minutes of work, it's really just that easy.

I recommend just starting, well with a running clock.

There's lots of apps that you can download also

that are called Tabata

that as you run towards seconds

and then there's a beep to rest for 10 seconds.

And then it beeps again

and you can even start another workout.

So the way this works is just 20 seconds.

So your air squats, I start with air squats first.

And then rest.

And then you do it for a second time,

20 seconds and then you rest.

When you get done with all eight

then you go to your next one.

My most frequent one is a push-up.

Common push-up, hit the floor.

You have to make sure your chest hits the floor.

If you're doing this like this,

your chest does not hit the floor,

drop to your knees, there's the scale.

Floor, lock up,

floor lock up.

This does not count.

If you can hit the floor and do a push-up.

I'd much rather you do four regular, good push-ups

than cheat and go from your feet.

Alright, so we did push-ups,

we did air squats.

Pull-ups, you're just going to grab a bar.

If you can't do a proper pull-up,

what I've done with a couple people,

we stack weights at the gym

so that you can do a jump and pull.

And it doesn't have to be far but you need

to get your heart rate up.

And again you're going to do that for 40 seconds.

And then the last one is something core.

Most frequently,

regular sit-ups type things can work

but there are a whole bunch of variations.

Regular sit-ups just look something like this.

Touch the floor behind your head,

touch between your toes, one.

Two.

Buyer beware here.

If you're doing these guys

you can develop little strawberries

at the top part of your butt cheeks

and have really uncomfortable showers

for the next week.

So sometimes I'll actually just lean back a little bit

on the left butt cheek,

and then go over to the right side.

So use that in those muscles

and adipose tissue as kind of a buffer.

Some gyms have these little,

c-shaped things which will take some

of the pressure off your back.

If you can't do a proper sit-up,

bridges are fine,

either from your knees

or all the way up to your toes.

And right, so you'd be 20 seconds on and then rest.

And then 20 seconds on and then rest.

So find the exercise that works best for you.

There's no one exercise that you have to do.

The idea is to get four different movements

and those four movements can be just like.

If you're getting really advanced with this

and you don't necessarily love the air squats,

if you've got some weights.

Grab some five or some 10 pound weights.

Hold them in what's called a front rack position

and then you can just go ahead and do those.

This does not count as a squat.

So if you're doing these things

we're going to ask you basically you should

that you can hit the floor.

Don't hit the floor, sorry.

Hit all the way to the bottom

unless there's like knee problems or knee issues.

With all these things,

I'm out of breath just from doing that.

With all these you want to make sure

that you're doing within your comfortable level

and if it hurts, if you've got back pain,

or something, or neck pain when you're doing these,

call a time-out, do something else.

If you have any specific questions

about the Tabata workout,

go ahead and pass a note.

Thanks gang.

Hyaluronic Acid What the Beauty Industry Doesn't Want You to Know - Duration: 13:59.

Hyaluronic Acid: What the Beauty Industry may not want you to know!

So we're going to go into that today.

So, in the Beauty Industry, skincare product lines, they are adding Hyaluronic Acid to

almost EVERYTHING.

They are adding it to cleansers, exfoliants, toners, eye products, and lotions and creams.

So here's a really quick PRO TIP: Don't waste your money, additional money, on cleansers

that are adding Hyaluronic Acid, that are touting that they have Hyaluronic Acid, or

Vitamin C -- any anti-oxidant ingredients -- because it doesn't stay long enough on

your skin for it to even have a result.

So, make sure that you get a nice exfoliating cleanser, or a hydrating cleanser, a pH balancing

cleanser, but don't spend that extra money on anti-aging or cleansers that say, "We have

Hyaluronic Acid in our products!"

So, it is one of nature's most powerful humectants -- and it is! -- but we're going to get into

some things that the Beauty Industry may not be telling you!

So here is an actual fact that the Beauty Industry touts, which is true: So one molecule

of Hyaluronic Acid can hold up to 1,000x its weight in water.

Or, if you can think of it, one gram of Hyaluronic Acid is equivalent to holding up to TWO of

these.

So it's a pretty powerful humectant.

But, what the Beauty Industry may not tell you is, is that Hyaluronic Acid actually works

more effectively if the weather is like THIS -- it's raining!

So this is actually highly unusual for Southern California, so I wanted to come out here,

in the rain, and show you that Hyaluronic Acid works when the environment is full of

water.

So if you live in a place like Southern California, Arizona, Colorado, or even Australia, Hyaluronic

Acid may not work as effectively because the Hyaluronic Acid is pulling moisture from the

air into your skin.

And when there is LOW moisture in the air, it actually is drawing it UP from your skin.

So, stay tuned for the PRO TIP to find out what you need to do to make the Hyaluronic

Acid serum work for you.

Hi, I'm Christy Greene with Go See Christy Beauty Boutique and here at our boutique we

have been treating clients for over 10 years who struggle with Acne, who want to fight

aging, as well as hyperpigmentation and other skin conditions.

So, we are going to go into what the Beauty Industry may not tell you.

Okay, so the first one is, that sometimes a lot of skin care companies will pair Hyaluronic

Acid with another anti-aging ingredient -- such as Vitamin C. So they'll do Hyaluronic Acid,

they'll do Vitamin C, and also with Ferulic Acid.

So then it starts to kind of get clumped in together as an "anti-aging agent" or "anti-aging

ingredient".

And Hyaluronic Acid actually is NOT in and of itself an anti-aging agent.

Anti-aging ingredients actually will stimulate Collagen and Elastin production or help retain

the existing Collagen and Elastin.

And Hyaluronic Acid is simply a HUMECTANT.

So for those of you who geek-out on chemistry, Hyaluronic Acid is actually an ANION GLYCOSAMINOGLYCAN.

An anion is negatively charged.

So, Hyaluronic Acid, is obviously from an acid, and Sodium Hyaluronate, which is more

commonly used in skincare ingredients, is actually from sodium.

So they are a little bit different.

And Sodium Hyaluronate is a derivative of Hyaluronic Acid.

Now going back to what I said, it is not an anti-aging ingredient, per se, but it can

actually help with the appearance -- or minimizing the appearance -- of fine lines and wrinkles.

And how it does that is because it's a humectant, and if it's drawing moisture from the air,

and it's binding it to your skin, it starts to plump up your skin, therefore minimizing

the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Mmmm... hold on... effectively retain water...okay.

I was right.

Okay.

Throw that away.

BOOP!

You see, as we age our skin cells slowly start to lose its ability to retain and hold water.

So Hyaluronic Acid basically helps us with that by attracting more moisture.

So in the dermal layer, that's actually where most of the moisture is able to be retained,

but as we age, in the epidermis it starts to lose its ability to hold the water every

year as we age.

So we create Hyaluronic Acid within our own bodies, so you CAN'T react to Hyaluronic Acid!

However, as our bodies starts to age, we, our body is always fighting to replenish the

Hyaluronic Acid in our body.

And of course as we age, that ability lessens year-after-year-after-year.

So just to give you an example, it's constantly working to replenish that in our body.

So Hyaluronic Acid in our blood, it only lasts about several minutes -- one-to-three minutes

-- and then in our skin, about three-to-five days, generally speaking -- and a lot of it

depends on how old you are -- so what your age is and the environment that you live in

-- and up to several weeks -- one-to-three weeks -- in our cartilage.

So the body has to constantly be replenishing the Hyaluronic Acid.

So the common misconception is, sometimes the Beauty Industry kind of infers very loosely,

is, is that the higher the percentage is of an active ingredient -- so like anti-aging

ingredient, Vitamin C, Retinol, Peptides -- the better it will work for your skin.

And that's not necessarily true!

Some ingredients as stronger or higher percentages or higher levels can actually give a negative

effect to the skin -- such as Glycolic Acid, some Retinols, and L-Ascorbic Acid -- where

they can actually cause a reaction or a rash -- what we call in the industry "Dermatitis"

-- on the skin.

So in the case of Hyaluronic Acid, where some products are touting that it's 100% Hyaluronic

Acid (which, that is probably not true...) you have to remember, ONE molecule can hold

up to TWO of these; so it can hold up to 1,000 x its weight in water.

So adding any more to a product is not only unnecessary, Hyaluronic Acid in and of itself

is a thick, gel-like type ingredient.

So adding any more to a product is going to make the product unappealing to put onto the

skin.

Now the LARGE Hyaluronic Acid molecule can range, it comes in a variety of sizes, and

it can actually go all the way up to several thousands-of-molecules-of-sugars long.

So the sugars are interconnected very similar to a spider-like web formation, and that's

what gives the film over the Stratum Corneum.

Oh...

I forgot...

Sorry.

Oh my gosh, okay.

So when it's not bonded to other molecules it can actually bind to water, and that's

when it can actually increase the moisture level in the skin as well as lubricate the

joints.

This moisture then, in the lower levels of the skin, is then drawn up to the upper levels

of the skin so that it can get moisture.

So, if the larger Hyaluronic Acid molecules can sit on top of the skin but too large to

penetrate down into the lower parts of the skin, how does the Beauty Industry address

that?

They HYDROLYZE it!

Hydrolysis is basically a process where they break apart the bonds in a molecule in water.

So hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid is basically the result of this chemical process in which

they create smaller fragments of Hyaluronic Acid making the molecules smaller in weight

and size.

So by offering this type of product where you'll see, sometimes they'll offer Hyaluronic

Acid serums where it'll say "larger molecular weight" and, or "multi-weight" Hyaluronic

Acid, what they're offering or what they're saying is, in their Hyaluronic Acid serum

they're claiming that they have different weights in them where the larger molecules

stay on top to add moisture to the skin and the smaller molecules are small enough to

penetrate the epidermis increasing the moisture levels underneath the skin.

So now Cosmetic Chemists are trying to come up with a formulation where you can add something

to the skin externally and stimulate Hyaluronic Acid production within the skin, and I tried

to look up a lot of the research in a lot of the Dermatologist journals and Cosmetic

Chemist trade magazines, and there's still not enough information that I actually could

find on that which produces long-term results.

So until then, what I would recommend as a PRO TIP is if you want to spend that extra

money getting the multi-weighted Hyaluronic Acid, you're more than welcome to do so, obviously,

but for me, what I would recommend is just getting a regular Hyaluronic Acid.

It doesn't constitute the increase in price until that there are more results.

And then what you would do is you would actually put an OCCLUSIVE agent -- which I'm going

to talk about just a little bit later in the video on how to prevent the Hyaluronic Acid

from actually doing the opposite, which is DEHYDRATING your skin, pulling moisture that's

already within the skin up.

So, we'll talk a little bit about that further in the video.

So in the mean time, I am NOT trying to change your mind and stop using Hyaluronic Acid serum.

I actually LOVE using Hyaluronic Acid serum.

And what I have found in my practice is that people who tend to be oily, or breakout-prone,

or they're more texture-sensitive, they tend to like Hyaluronic Acid serum more than the

humectant I'm about to talk about now.

So, did you know that there is a humectant that's actually a little bit more effective

than Hyaluronic Acid, not as expensive, and more readily available?

And that ingredient --- which once I say it -- you're going to know what it is.

It is GLYCERIN.

So -- you've heard of Glycerin soaps -- so Glycerin is an odorless, non-toxic ingredient

that is a very strong humectant.

And it can be dissolved in water and alcohol, but not oils.

And if you look at a lot of your ingredients, especially lotions and creams, you actually

pay attention to the ingredients in there.

Usually, if it's a very effective hydrator, it'll say "Water" and then it'll say "Glycerin"

or in the next couple of ingredients, "Glycerin".

When it touts that it has Sodium Hyaluronate in there and it says it has Hyaluronic Acid,

it may not actually be the Hyaluronic Acid that's putting moisture into your skin, it's

actually the Glycerin.

'Cause Glycerin has a higher percentage in most lotions and creams than Hyaluronic Acid.

Usually you will see the Hyaluronic Acid much lower down in the ingredients list, which

may mean that the ingredient has ONE DROP in there but is actually charging you a whole

lot more.

So, unless you see, sometimes I will see Sodium Hyaluronate higher up on the scale.

Which then, okay, they can charge a little bit more.

So in most of your ingredients, take a look and see if you can see Glycerin as an actual

ingredient.

Okay, so here comes the PRO TIP!

The first PRO TIP is: Remember how I said if you are living in a arid climate, such

as California, Arizona, Australia, Colorado, that you actually need moisture from the air

in order for the Hyaluronic Acid to really work effectively?

Well, one of them is, at night, even places that it's really cold -- because you're using

the heater and the heater actually draws moisture out of the air -- is at night, use a COOL

air humidifier and that puts humidity into the air.

So when you put your Hyaluronic Acid serum on in the evening, make sure that you INCREASE

the humidity in the air.

So that's the first tip.

The second tip is: When you put Hyaluronic Acid in you also needs and occlusive agent

-- and that's going to be in our NEXT video of "How to Keep Moisture Effectively in the

Skin" -- is when you use something that actually keeps the moisture from evaporating, you are

creating a moisture barrier.

You want to put that on top of your Hyaluronic Acid or anything that you're using as a humectant

on there.

And that's what keeps the Hyaluronic Acid, the moisture, retaining moisture within your

skin.

What Suarez did in first Arsenal training session to impress Lacazette - Duration: 2:03.

is already making an impression at Arsenal following his deadline day switch from Barcelona  The Spaniard arrived at the Emirates on loan from Barcelona with the Gunners having the option of an £18m permanent deal

Suarez is in contention to make his debut against Man City on Sunday after training with his new teammates this week

And he has already caught the eye in just a couple of sessions at the London Colney training ground

Arsenal uploaded footage from Friday's training session as Suarez showed off his shooting ability - much to the delight of Alexandre Lacazette

Suarez takes a touch before whipping his shot in off the post to leave Lacazette and his fellow teammates rather impressed

The Frenchman stands back and celebrates the goal while Suarez's other new teammates can be heard celebrating

Speaking on his new signing on Friday, boss Unai Emery said: "He has a big experience in Spain, at Sevilla, at Villarreal, where he played in a semi-final against Liverpool in the Europa League

"After, he played with Barcelona, not in the first XI a lot of times, but he helped them there and played in the Champions League, in an important team with important players

I think for him it's easy to adapt with us."   The midweek results saw Arsenal climb to fourth but Manchester United are now just two points behind in sixth

Jamie Carragher outlines what Arsenal must do this summer - Duration: 3:25.

Arsenal must invest heavily in their defence this summer if they are to be competitive at the top of the table once more, claims Jamie Carragher

The former Liverpool defender believes that until the Gunners sort out their issues at the back, the rest of their transfer activity will be overshadowed by their lack of defensive solidity

But it's not just an issue for the January transfer window that just closed, as Carragher notes that the Gunners have needed defensive reinforcements for some time

"If you are looking at the defence you have to go back 12 months when Arsene Wenger was still there and there was a lot of money spent," Carragher told Sky Sports on Friday

"They lost Alexis Sanchez and got Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan when they were crying out for a centre-back

"They did spend decent money on Shkodran Mustafi a couple of years ago but it hasn't really worked out

The defenders they signed in the summer are not good enough for Arsenal and that's why they continue to have problems defensively and will do until that changes

"They have a fantastic strike force but in the summer they greatly need defensive reinforcements

"    As for the one signing Arsenal did make in January, Carragher is adamant that the month just gone shows investment is sorely needed this summer

While he trusts that Unai Emery will know how to get the best out of Denis Suarez, he also believes that the north Londoners will need to heavily invest this summer or they will fall behind their rivals

"Unai Emery knows Denis Suarez well from their time together at Sevilla and it will be interesting to see where he does use him," he said

"At times he has used Alex Iwobi in that wide position or in a No 10 when he changes the system

It might be that position that he looks at.    "It hasn't been a great window for Arsenal but Emery was quite transparent when he said they could only get loans

"I think the summer is when they will have to really invest. It's touch-and-go whether they make top four and that will have an impact on what happens in the summer

Arsenal need a big summer window."   Keep up to date with the latest news, features and exclusives from football

What is Linux swap? - Duration: 7:11.

If you are a Linux user you have definitely heard about Linux Swap, but you may not know

what it is exactly and how you can use it.

Time to change that!

I mention Linux swap and swappiness in almost every video

on things to do after installing Linux.

You can watch these videos in this playlist.

You probably know that Linux swap is somehow related to RAM

and swappiness can affect your system performance.

In this video I will explain you what it is and how to use it in little more details.

You will learn: • What is Linux Swap?

• Do you need Linux Swap?

• What are Swap Partition and swap file?

• How to create a Swap File.

• What is swappiness and how to adjust it?

What is Linux Swap?

The Linux Kernel usually uses your RAM memory to store temporary information.

When there is no enough RAM space, the Linux Kernel takes some of this infromation from

RAM and writes it to the swap space on a hard drive.

This is called the swapping process.

This way your Linux system can release some RAM space

and doesn't crash due to lack of memory.

So, Linux swap is a very useful way to extend the RAM because it provides the necessary

additional memory when the RAM space has been exhausted and a process has to be continued.

That is why when you install a Linux distribution, the installation wizard usually asks you to

assign a space for the swap partition.

Do you need Linux Swap?

This is a question many novice users ask themselves when they begin to discover Linux.

In fact, this will depend on the use and amount of RAM your computer has.

Nevertheless, having a swap space is desirable even if you have a lot of RAM.

For example, usually when your RAM gets full and the Linux kernel has no space to write

into, your system will crash.

On the other hand, if you have a swap space, it will be used by the Linux kernel and your

system will keep working, though much slower.

So, it is safer to have a swap space.

Note: swap space has one disadvantage - it is much slower than RAM.

So, adding a swap space won't make your computer faster, it will only help to overcome some

limitations posed by the RAM size.

There are two option for a swap space: a swap partition and swap file.

Swap Partition

Swap Partition is just part of your hard drive which is reserved for a swap space

It is sort of hard coded in your hard drive. So, is usually not that easy to change.

I recommend that you create the Swap partition during the installation of your Linux distribution.

• If your computer has 1Gb of RAM or less,

then the Swap partition should be twice the size of the RAM.

• If you have between 2gb and 4gb of RAM,

the size of the Swap partition should equal the RAM.

• For RAM of 8 GB, swap can be half of RAM.

• Finally, If you have more than 8gb of RAM, then it is enough to have 2-4Gb.

But everything depends on your use case.

You can check type and size of your Swap with this command:

This is the size of my swap partition.

Linux Swap File

Alternatively to a swap partition, you can create a Linux Swap File after the installation.

The modern Linux Kernel allows Swapping to a Swap file instead of a Swap partition.

A Swap file has an advantage over a swap partition that you can change the size of your swap

any time simply by changing a swap file size.

If you want to create a swap file, run this command first:

Note: this command will to create a 1Gb swap file.

Replace 1G with the value you want.

Next, you have to set the correct permissions.

Then, format the file to swap.

Finally, enable the swap.

If you want the changes to be permanent, you

need to edit the /etc/fstab file

open it

and add the following.

Ctrl+O to save the changes and

Ctrl+X to exit

In the end, check the status of the swapfile:

here it is

How to remove or edit a Linux Swap File

In case, you need to remove or edit a Linux Swap File for any reason,

you first, deactivate the swap.

And delete the actual Linux Swap File.

If you what increase or decrease a swap file

size, you created a new swap file of desired size

If you what only to removed the swap file, remove swapfile entry in the /etc/fstab file.

Swappiness and how to adjust the Swappiness value?

Swappiness is a property of the Linux Kernel

to define how often the Swap space will be used.

As you already know, RAM is faster than a hard drive.

So, every time your system need to use swap,

you will notice that some processes and applications will run slower.

However, you can adjust the system to use much more RAM than swap.

This can help improve overall system performance.

Normally, the default swappiness value is 60.

The smaller this value, the more of your RAM will be used.

Swap tendency is defined by this formula.

swappiness is here in this formula.

I am not going into technical details of this formula, you can pause and read it

if you are curious.

So, to check your curremt the swappiness value, run this command:

You should see the value of 60.

If you want to modify the default value, you need to edit the file /etc/sysctl.conf.

And add the following:

vm.swappiness=10

10 is the most commonly recommended value.

Also, this setting is recommended when you have more than 4Gb of RAM.

Save the file and close it with Ctrl+O and Ctrl+X keys shortcuts.

In order to apply the changes, you need to reboot the system.

Now, the swappiness values is ten.

This way your Linux kernel will use more RAM and less swap,

but it still will swap when your RAM memory gets critically full.

Linux swap is a technical concept but knowing how it works can improve the performance of the system.

Digital Ad Spend Has Surpassed TV Ad Spend:What's the Biggest Return on Investment? - Duration: 1:33.

There has been an enormous shift in the amount of money being spent on digital ads versus

TV ads.

It used to not even be close.

But that has changed, in 2016 Digital ads for the very first time surpassed TV ads.

How does this impact your business?

TV is still an option to look into.

But digital ads are offering so many opportunities, especially for small businesses, because it

really lets you very closely track exactly what people are doing and how they're responding

to your ads.

Because if you're on a very limited budget, you don't have a lot of flexibility to just

sort of build your brand.

If you do that, who may be out of business and three, six months, a year because really

at the start it's all about generating sales.

You're able to really see what people are responding well to and how many people are

clicking on your ad and you're really able to dial it in.

Whereas TVs better if you're just trying to reach a massive amount of people.

And it's not targeted at the same level of specificity.

So the ability to target very specifically and track the numbers is incredibly powerful.

Most businesses should be doing this.

It can generate so much sales once you get it dialed in perfectly.

Anyway, that is everything for this video.

Please subscribe and click the bell for notifications.

I'll be creating a ton of extra free content.

What Educational Expenses Can I Write-off My Taxes? - Duration: 3:17.

(light crescendoing tones)

- [Toby] I joined an investor class.

I paid $30,000.

Up to today, I haven't started an LLC or C Corp.

How should I report this education expense

for taxes purposes?

Can I report it on my personal taxes?

You want to jump on this one or you want me to whack at it?

- [Jeff] You can whack at it.

- [Toby] Okay, so here's the deal.

Investor, that's a magic word.

If you are an investor and you're doing education,

you don't get to write off your education expenses period.

In fact, if you are...

If you look at some of the publications out there,

your travel and everything else is specifically excluded

if you are an investor.

So we don't want this on your personal return

if that's what you're doing.

If it's an investment expense, don't want it.

The sole kind of exception is

if you are already in the realm of real estate

and you already have rental properties,

then it's treated as an expense that you could write off

as long as it's real estate class.

So the real answer is

I would not be writing this on my personal.

In fact, there's a case.

It was a gentleman who we ran into at an event years ago,

and he went out and did exactly

what you're talking about doing.

And his accountant filed it out of his personal taxes

and he became a tax case (mumbles quickly) Commissioner?

It was exactly what we thought,

which is they were going to deny it

until you actually had the business.

Now if you set up, let's say a C Corp.

It has the ability to do what's called a start-up expense

and reimburse any expenses that were associated

with the investigation or start-up of that business.

So if your investor class really had to do with the start-up

and investigation of that business,

then it would be deductible.

The only question is whether it's going to be 100% deductible

in that first year, or whether you have to spread it out

over a number of years.

They allow you to what's called amortize it.

So, you're going to get to write it off,

the only question is how long.

If it's less than 5000 bucks,

you're going to grab it the first year.

If it's more than $5000, then you're going to have a portion

that is immediately deductible up to $5000.

You're going to spread out the rest over 15 years.

You do not report this on your personal taxes.

So, hope that makes sense.

Anything you want to add on that one?

- [Jeff] No, I mean there used to be an argument

if this was, say an investors class for securities,

instead of property,

you used to be able to deduct that on Schedule A.

- [Toby] Never.

They actually specifically exclude it now.

- [Jeff] Even though you were already trading and --

- [Toby] Yep.

You have to qualify as a trader.

- [Jeff] Okay.

- [Toby] Yeah, investors don't get it.

Kind of stink-olas, and uh --

- [Jeff] And there's no place to deduct it anyway anymore.

- [Toby] No, you're just toast.

But people used to try it

and they would say, "Hey, I'm a trader in security"

which means you got to have a lot of trades,

about 700 hundred trades. - Oh, true, true.

- So, I try to avoid that.

(bright music with clap-like beats)

Fatwa!! And what to do? By Sheikh Salih Al-Maghamsi - Duration: 4:32.

Allah, Almighty, said:

"And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge.. " 17:36

".. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart.. "

".. about all those [one] will be questioned."

When a person is given a degree of knowledge..

this is a sign of success granted to him from Allah, Almighty.

In this verse, Allah is talking to the most knowledgeable among the creations about Allah!

or prophet, SAW..

saying to him:

"And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge.. "

and it is the biggest lie..

that man would say false and invent a lie about the Lord, Almighty

It is the biggest lie, to lie about Allah!

and the person who have the true knowledge, he is granted the fear of Allah[Khashyah].

and the person who is having [Khashyah]..

he will be afraid to say about Allah which he have no knowledge..

'Pursue it and strive for having it seriously..'

'because, if Allah would give it to you, you will benefit..'

'And when you reach the top of it, and people say that you've reached presidency..'

'Then you are not safe, not being asked about it.. by Allah.'

'scolding you; You had the knowledge, did you do the job?!''.

People before us had mentioned..

that the early Arabs, at the days of Jahiliah..

They used to go to a man..

His name was 'Aamer Bin Ad-Dharb Al-'Adwani

They use to go to him to solve their issues, when they disagree!

Once, a delegation from a tribe came to him..

They said:'O 'Aamer..

there is a person among us has the two sexual organs..

of a male..

and of a female..

And we want to give this person his share of inheritance..

Should we consider this person as a female?

or should we consider him as a male?

So, that man, who was a pagan..

he couldn't reach a solution for them.. for 40 days.

And he used to have a maid, taking care of his goats..

her name was; Sukhylah.

Then, after 40 days, she said to him; ' O 'Aamer..

The guests have eaten your goats..

and only a few of them are left!

tell me.'

He said to her: 'This is not your business, go and take care of the goats.'

But, she insisted to know..

and, she stressed on him, to tell her the case..

he told her about their inquiry!

and he said to her; this is the first time that I encounter such a problem..

Then that maid, who was the herder of the goats..

he said: 'O 'Aamer, what is the matter with you..

you can decide according to the path of urination..

i.e. if that person used to pee through the male sexual organ..

then, he is a male..

but, if it was through the female sexual organ..

then she is a female.

Then, he said;

''You've made it easy for me, Sukhylah.'

And he told them!.

Al-Imam Al-Awza'ai, may Allah put mercy upon him..

he said about this story..

he said this man was a pagan..

He is not expecting to enter Jannah..

he is not afraid of the Faire..

and he doesn't worship Allah..

And, he stops at this case for 40 days..

to give the right Fatwa.

How about a person, wishing to enter Jannah, and afraid of the Fire?!

How much meticulous he should be..

if he was assigned to give Fatwa?!

or was asked a question about Allah, Almighty?

And, we've been at the time of our Shaikh, Al-Ameen Ash-Shengity..

may Allah, Almighty, put mercy upon him..

At the city of Rasoul Allah, SAW.

And as I know for sure.. a delegate from Al-Kuwait came to visit him..

to ask him about some Shar'aia issues..

And the man was at the last days of his life..

And, at that time, if someone would say that..

on the surface of earth, there is no one..

at that time..

who knows more than him..

we could say; this is not far from the truth!

Yet, when they've asked him..

he answered: 'I don't know.. I don't know.. I don't know!'

So, when they insisted to get an answer..

He changed he way he was sitting..

Then, he said:

'I'll answer you from the Book of Allah..

So, they listed to him

Then, may Allah put mercy on him and forgive him.. he said to them:

I'll say as the saying of Allah..

"And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge.. "

But, when they insisted more..

may Allah put mercy on him..

He said:

'So-and-so said as such..

and so-and-so said as such..

and so-and-so said as such..

but, as for me..

I can't make my conscience carry the burden of the sayings of others..

I do not know.'

That was his saying, in spite of his status and of his degree of knowledge..

May Allah put mercy upon him..

the point is..

There is a lesson here..

for all those whom Allah has put in the frontier..

he must not feel proud that a big number of people are surrounding him..

or, you must not give an opinion, if you don't have the knowledge!

And, the Angels have said..

to their Lord.. and they are Angels..

"They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us.. " 2:32

And from the signs of fearness of Allah.. and of [Taqwa]..

that man should stay away..

from these borders..

and to stop where Allah, Almighty, has taught him!

avoiding claiming seeing; what he had not see..

and hearing; what he had not hear..

and saying..

with his tongue, what was not said..

".. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart.. "

".. about all those [one] will be questioned."

So Let's hear directly from two top Victoria Secrets Model on how they stay in shape.

Stella Maxwell said.

I work out an hour a day.

For breakfast, I eat scrambled eggs, avocado, oatmeal.

I really love oatmeal or granola and yogurt.

For Lunch I eat fish like salmon and some salad on the side.

Today we had chicken and salad.

And then dinner, probably the same thing, a protein and a green.

For snacks, I like nuts and those dried peas.

The second Victoria Secret model, Josephine Skriver said.

I just eat a lot of protein and a lot of veggies, and I make sure I get my carbs because the

way I work out, I need healthier carbs like brown rice or sweet potatoes because if I

cut out carbs, I would have no energy to do what I do.

For breakfast today, I had scrambled eggs, spinach, and a cup of brown rice.

I would say most of the time it's grains, protein, and rice, but sometimes for lunch,

I don't do as many carbs because it makes me sleepy.

But for breakfast, it's such a good startespecially after my workout, I'm dead tired and I need

fuel for the whole day.

My biggest meal is breakfastsometimes I have it twice because I'm so hungry.

"I used to drink a lot more milk when I was home [in Denmark], but I don't love the milk

herethat's just like a taste thing.

But I don't really cut out any food groups.

I obviously don't eat sugar and junk food every day, but I make sure once a week you

have a good treat day and you just go all out.

"For snacks, I love everything from fruit to carrots or nutslike a little handful

of nuts keeps me going or just a half a portion of what I ate earlier.

I always carry fruit and nuts with me.

Nut bars are good and easy to bring in your bag.

"I've tried every workout, and I think that's a journey everyone has to go through to figure

out what works for your body.

The best advice I can give is to make sure that it's fun.

Working out doesn't have to be lifting weights or spinningit can be Zumba dancing, swimming,

or hiking.

I've tried everything from yoga to spinning to Pilates, and the workout that I've landed

on is weights.

I finally got past the myth that girls develop muscles so quickly that I was scared I would

lift one weight and be bulky, but really, if you stick with it and take a few weeks

off, muscle memory helps you snap back.

On a good week, I go to the gym five days a week, sometimes three days a week, or sometimes

I can't even make it one, so I really try to listen to my body.

I always say that every day is a good day to go to the gym, and because of the schedule

I have, I can't say Oh, I'll go on Mondays, because I don't know what I'll be doing next

Monday.

Don't feel guilty about itset yourself a goal that's reachable, don't over do it.

You can find a buddy to make your workout a lot easier.

Working out with friends really helps.

That's how we girls stay motivated because we're like, I really can't go, and one of

the Angels will say Hey, we're doing a 7 pm workoutjoin us!.

There's no such thing as a bad workout.

Even if you make it a half-hour, it's good to go and get out there.

"A year and a half ago, I decided to be a morning workout person.

It took me four months to not hate itI was such a night person, but there was always

a dinner, or something came up, or a friend wanted coffee, or you sit on the couch and

you turn on Netflix.

So I really made it a thing.

It's like eating breakfast for me now; it's just a habit, it's what I do.

I don't ask myself, Do I want to wake up at 5 am to work out at 6 am?

I just set my schedule that's just what it is.

So it's a habit for me, and it takes a while to form a habit.

My workouts are an hour long.

I would say 80% of my workout is weights, and then I add in cardio once or twice a week.

I notice that I lose my muscles when I [just do] cardio.

Some of the other girls do more cardio because it's better for their body shapeagain,

it's so hard for me to give you specifics and say, If you work out like this, your body

is going to look like mine.

Half of it is genetics, and half of it is figuring out what works for you.

But it's a journey, and it's hopefully a fun journey."

Has the Supreme Court Grown Beyond What the Founders Wanted? - Duration: 7:37.

The federal government is often described as a complex system of checks and balances

among three co-equal branches of government.

Another way of looking at it is to see the federal government as four deliberative bodies

stacked as a pyramid.

At the bottom is the House of Representatives.

It is the most powerful body with 435 members.

It is the most diffuse body, but its power is that in matters of impeachment, war, taxes

and spending, the House has the initiative.

The second body is the Senate with 100 members.

Its sole power is the ability to say no to bills and motions passed by the House and

to approve presidential appointments and treaties.

There is no fixed number of justices, but by tradition there have been nine justices

on the Court.

The framers gave the Court no initiative authority.

It can only act if someone petitions it to act.

However, the Court has the power to say no to any action taken by the president, the

Congress, and the states.

At the top of the pyramid is the president, who has both the initiative and the power

to say no to Congress through his veto.

This model became broken when judges took it upon themselves to create new laws on their

own.

This seizure of initiative is the innovation that disrupted the constitutional system created

by the framers because there is virtually no check for a power the framers never anticipated.

Ilya Shapiro is the director of the Robert A. Levy Center for Constitutional Studies

at the Cato Institute.

I spoke with him about the changing role of the Supreme Court.

Mr. Shapiro, what was the original purpose of the Supreme Court and has its role today

grown beyond what the framers intended?

Well, the Supreme Court or the judiciary in general is supposed to check the other branches.

So if Congress passes a law that goes beyond its Constitutional authority, the Supreme

Court or lower federal courts are supposed to strike it down.

If the president or an executive agency does something that's beyond their statutory

authority, the courts are supposed to step in.

And the problem is over the decades, power in Washington, federal power, has grown.

And that's why the importance of the Supreme Court has grown.

And so now we have sort of gotten used to the idea that every June at the end of term,

the Supreme Court rules on three or four or half a dozen of the most important political

issues in the country.

And you think about it in the last decade, everything from health care, immigration,

racial preferences, abortion, political gerrymandering, campaign finance, voting rights, you name

it, a big political controversy, the Supreme Court is involved.

And it's not because the Supreme Court is trying to get involved and trying to earn

a higher profile or gain more power.

It's just a function of a system that has concentrated power in Washington.

And in a large and diverse country, you're going to have differences in opinion that

ultimately end up resolved by the Supreme Court.

I think, ultimately, the way to reduce political polarization, or the tension, the toxicity

that we're living the last decade, is to push power back down to the states and the

localities.

If the Supreme Court doesn't have to decide these major issues of federal power or executive

authority or what have you, then it won't be as talked about.

I think that would be a good thing.

But it's not just the Supreme Court.

It's also Congress.

It's also executive agencies.

As power has centralized in Washington, all of these institutions start playing a larger

role.

You just mentioned that these branches of government shouldn't have so much power.

But how can their powers be cut back?

Well, just like it's taken decades to get to where we are, it will take decades to get

back.

I think the Supreme Court, starting in the '30s, started approving uses of federal

power that go beyond Constitutional authority without amending the Constitution.

And that's really the genesis of the growth of power here in Washington.

But it's not just that.

It's also Congress abdicating its authority or delegating its power to the executive branch.

That way congressmen can say, I voted for this great law and I'll just have the bureaucrats

sort out the details.

And if people don't like the details, they can blame the agency.

They shouldn't blame me, I passed this great law.

But it's the bureaucrats, it's the civil servants, it's the agencies that are doing

the bad things.

And, of course, people can't lobby the agencies or the bureaucrats.

They can only sue them.

And that's why all of these major disputes over clashes of policy views or values end

up in the courts rather than being decided in the halls of Congress.

There's something unusual and unhealthy about protests going on outside the Supreme

Court rather than outside of Congress because all of these major clashes of policy positions

or values should be decided by our elected representatives, not pushed to the executive

agencies and ultimate resolved in court.

I also asked the Democratic side the same questions.

Thomas B. Reston has spent a lifetime in politics, working in eight presidential campaigns at

the national level and in countless local and statewide efforts.

He was twice elected Secretary of the Democratic Party of Virginia.

Reston was a political appointee in the Foreign Service under President Jimmy Carter, serving

as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs.

He is a civil rights advocate and author of "Soul of a Democrat."

Here is my discussion with him.

Do you think the role of the Supreme Court has gone beyond what the framers had intended?

No, I don't think so.

In fact, I think, as a practical matter, the role of the Supreme Court is returning more

or less to what the framers wanted, or certainly Mr. Chief Justice John Marshall, who was the

great conservative who established the principle of judicial review, over the actions of Congress

so that the Supreme Court could knock out legislation that had been written and passed

by the Congress if the Supreme Court found the legislation to be unconstitutional.

So I think really the Supreme Court is returning to its earliest days as this staunch, as the

staunch wall against an unbridled Congress.

I think that it has always functioned as the great conservative part of the American government.

And I think with the new conservative majority on the court, which has now been established,

I think that court will return to its essential role.

What are the 4 Cs of DIAMOND buying? - Duration: 2:32.

This is Jill Maurer with Your Jewelry Minute, and today I'm answering the question, "What

are the 4 c's of diamond buying?".

The 4 c's of diamond buying are cut, color, clarity, and carat weight.

Cut refers to the make of the diamond.

It refers to how well it is cut not the shape of the stone.

When a cutter gets a stone, they try to determine what they can do with the diamond.

How they can cut it so that they remove the flaws, maintain most of the weight, and get

the most light coming through the diamond.

So a diamond is said to be well cut or well made when most of the light coming in through

the diamond is reflected back up through the table creating a sparkly shiny diamond.

Carat refers to the weight of a diamond.

One carat equals 200 milligrams or .2 grams.

If the diamond is a half a carat we'll say it is a 50 pointer or it has 50 points.

And a 1/4 carat diamond would be said to have 25 points or be a 25 pointer.

Sometimes you see tcw which stands for total carat weight.

And that refers to the total carat weight of all of the stones if there is more than

one stone.

Color.

We think of diamonds as being white, but most diamonds do have some yellow or brown in them.

So we rate the stones between D and Z to talk about the color.

D is completely colorless where Z has a lot of brown or yellow in the stone.

Generally colorless is considered to be more valuable, and the more yellow-brown the stone

is, the less valuable it is unless it is a fancy yellow.

That brings the value back up.

diamonds also come in other colors: pink, blue, green for example.

Those are very very rare, and if you do see them on the market, they've generally been

treated to be that color.

Clarity refers to the flaws and imperfections in the stone that we're able to see under

10 times magnification.

And there are 12 different grades that can be given to a stone to indicate its clarity

going all the way from flawless to imperfect and rather beat up.

So that's it.

The 4 c's of diamond buying.
