1997 Land Cruiser Solar Battery Charger - Duration: 3:59.

Hello the previous video I

Added a 12-volt accessory outlet and it didn't go so well, but this is kind of the next video

We're going to be talking about a solar charger

So I have a problem here if I can

Get this to work

My battery is

A losing charge. Okay, so I have just under 12 volts there. Let me get out of the wind

Okay, so the I may have a parasitic

Draw on it and I will check that later, but it's kind of wintertime. It's very cold

It's the last video. I wired in this 12-volt accessory outlet that's on all the time because I have this

Sunway solar charger and I'll put a link in the description to this and if you use that link

It's my affiliate link it helps me out a little bit and doesn't cost you anything extra

So this is a 3 watt

solar panel and then I got the

Sun way

Charge regulator. So what this has is you hook the battery in here and then you hook the solar in here

you can also hook a load on but I'll just be using the battery in the solar and this is a charge regulator so you

Don't over charge your battery

Reading online like maybe could just hook this right into the battery. But know this was relatively cheap, so

So I got this so I'll hook these up and then it comes with a couple adapters

The one I'll be using is the 12 volt

12 volt outlet adapter so

The outlet and this doesn't work unless you have the ignition turned on so that's why I wired in one that's on the battery all

The time so that'll plug in there. So I'll hook this up and I'll come back and we'll take a look at it. Okay?

So I have the solar panel here and it comes with suction cups, so I could press it up against the window

I may put those on later or I could stuff a like a towel behind it and

I have the sunshade to I'll put a link in the description of my landcruiser playlist where I

So I have this here and it has a blue linking LED on it

And if we go in here

We'll see that it is charging the yellow lights on now. It's 2:30 in the afternoon and the

Sun is not quite direct on here

So it will mostly charged in the morning. I

Mean there's a little bit of indirect Sun hitting this so I do have this facing south

So it is pointing towards the Sun I am in the US Northern hemisphere. So

I'll come back tomorrow. Well, I'll see when I'll come back in a couple days

Maybe when I get a chance and we'll check the voltage again

See if it's come up from that if there's a parasitic charge that's draining the battery faster

Then this is charging it then this is only gonna do so much

So I will eventually have to get that figured out

what I could do is disconnect the car from the system and just hook the

Charger up to the battery and then when I come back to run the car off

You know connect it back up and you're not supposed to drive the car or start the car with just with this hooked up. So

When I get ready to drive, I'll unplug this here

But this is temporary. I'll probably come back in the spring and redo this so it looks a little better that

China Is The First To Land On The Dark Side Of The Moon - Duration: 3:27.

- [Announcer] For the first time in history,

a space mission has touched down

on the far side of the moon.

China's Chang'e-4 probe landed in the oldest

and deepest basin on the moon's surface,

making the mission a milestone for both China

and space exploration as a whole.

This isn't the first time China has landed on the moon.

In 2013 Chang'e-3 successfully touched down on Mare Imbrium,

a huge lava plain on the moon's surface.

But until now, China has never explored

the moon's mysterious dark side.

No one has.

That's actually why it's called the dark side.

It's not hidden from the sun, it's hidden from our view.

That's because the moon is in what's called

synchronous rotation with the Earth,

which means every time the moon rotates once on its axis,

it also completes one orbit around the Earth.

As a result, we see the same face of the moon every night.

In fact, we only got our first glimpse of the far side

in 1959, when the Soviet Union's Luna 3 took pictures

as it flew by.

And while we've had numerous landings

on the near side of the moon,

no one's attempted to touch down on the far side before,

and for good reason.

It's impossible to communicate with anything over there.

Any signal would get blocked by the rest of the moon.

But China's team has a solution.

They launched a relay satellite with a clear view

of both Chang'e-4 and the Earth.

And so far, the plan's working.

Here are the very first images taken by Chang'e-4,

the first in history ever taken from the surface

on the dark side of the moon.

What's more, you're looking at the oldest,

largest, and deepest basin the moon has.

Chang'e-4 landed on Von Karman,

a flat landscape that sits inside South Pole-Aitken Basin.

The basin is around 2,500 kilometers across.

That's about the distance from New York to Dallas.

And it's a whopping eight kilometers deep.

For comparison, the deepest natural point on Earth,

the Challenger Deep, is nearly 11 kilometers deep.

Next, the lander will release a rover

that will explore the surrounding area.

One of it's tasks is to study the composition

of rocks and dirt in the basin.

Since scientists believe this is the oldest basin

on the moon, learning what it's made of might help us

understand how Earth's only moon formed and evolved.

But that's only one goal of the mission.

Besides cameras and spectrometers,

Chang'e-4 also brought along potatoes and silkworm eggs.

Researchers hope to test how well plants can grow

and eggs can hatch in the moon's low gravity.

It's the first mini greenhouse to ever land

on another world in our solar system,

and might help prepare us for space colonies in the future.
