January Favorites 2019 | Lifestyle, Books and Podcasts - Duration: 11:55.hey guys it's Danielle with Danielle gets it done and these are my January
favorites okay we'll start with my shampoo brush have you heard of a
shampoo brush I bet you didn't even know you needed one but you do it's just a
little rubber a brush that you use in the shower to get the shampoo massaged
evenly into your scalp and I love this thing I talked on my Young Living Hall
about this a little bit I use a natural shampoo which is much better for you but
it doesn't set up so well so this helps it set up and kind of get everywhere and
get you nice and clean and I only shampoo once a week now it used to be
twice but now that I'm pregnant I only need two once which is really nice
actually but with that being said I want to make sure I make it count
you know what I mean so this puppy helps me I think it's eight dollars or
something I will link everything below that I can in the description box
moving on to makeup I got a new foundation it is a loose powder from the
Savi minerals line from Young Living and I am obsessed with this I love it so
much I got the tone cool number two for your reference which I was a little
nervous about because I order this online obviously but I think it works
really well for my skin and what I do is I use a BB cream first and then will put
on any blush or bronzer or highlighter depending on the day and then kind of
finish with this and I have a big foundation brush that I spray with some
rose water then get this all over and buffed into
my skin and I really really really like it and I've actually been getting
compliments lately on my skin so I think it is thanks to this okay this is random
but I watch all TV on either my phone or my tablet we have a Kindle Fire which by
the way I think is amazing I'll link that below to it is so much cheaper than
an iPad it obviously does weigh less than an iPad but if you just need a
cheap tablet to like watch Netflix and Amazon Prime and YouTube I think it's
totally worth it anyways we have a nice TV and it's hooked up to all the things
but I just am always watching things on my phone or my tablet because I'm
cleaning and moving around let me know if you can relate but this was really
cheap on Amazon it's kind of like a little adjustable tripod so like when
I'm doing laundry I'll set it on my bed and put either my phone or my tablet
both fit well and it just makes it really easy to watch things with and
folds down really nicely I actually travel with this last month and I loved
it speaking of TV I'm gonna talk about one
show and that is dirty Jon which is on Bravo it was like a limited series I
want to see maybe around six episodes and it was really good so dirty Jon if
you're not familiar actually started us as a podcast which is really cool and I
listened to that right when it came out it must have been a couple years ago now
so check out that podcast if you haven't listened to it it is a true story about
a wealthy Orange County businesswoman who fell in love with this guy named
John and kind of the con bad story that falls apart and so I obviously can't
give too much away but it started as a podcast and then Bravo picked it up
recently which so excited about because I love Bravo
and I love the podcast and I think they did a really really good job okay forget
the actress right now who plays the main character I'll link her name below
Connie Burton something like that she's really
well-known and she does such a good job and it really held close to the original
podcast plot and so I thought it was so good and then moving on to books the
first one kind of has to do with that I just love like conman stories apparently
and so my first book is called a sucky love story by Brittani Louise Taylor now
she is a really popular youtuber she has gosh I'm pretty sure more than a million
subscribers and I've known about her I watched her here and there but I was
never a regular viewer or a subscriber but I heard she wrote this book and she
does a lot of vlogging so to back up she met this European guy I think he's from
Croatia fell in love they got engaged they got pregnant they've been raising
this son and I even remember just like a couple times I watched her it seemed
something seemed a little off and then I guess he just kind of disappeared from a
picture but she never really talked about it because she wasn't ready and
now we find out legally she really couldn't and so this is her memoir her
book telling all the things spilling all the tea on what happened to her and it
has a lot of parallels to dirty john actually I'm not giving I won't give
anything away but he is kind of like a con man you kind of realized that right
away and I just found it really interesting and it was a really easy
quick read and then it's kind of fun to go back to her YouTube videos and you
can see this guy in her videos I don't think she took a lot down she really
stayed transparent and it is very interesting I say interesting a lot I
say interesting and honestly a lot and honestly I'm working on it
the second book I read and I must say these I'm talking about three books and
I really read them throughout December and January and the second one was fear
from Bob Woodward I actually listened to it on audible and I have a coupon code
for you below I'm loving audible so that is the big expose kind of on Donald
Trump's presidency by Bob Woodward who's a really respected journalist he has
written about like I think every president that he could while living
while he's alive and he's really thought to be bipartisan and really fair and so
I was really interested I am kind of a political junkie and yeah I finally read
it or listen to it it was very good I learned a lot I guess the only issue and
it's not really his fault is so many of the characters in the book whose senior
administrators and the people around Trump are no longer a part of his
administration because it's just been so volatile so that was kind of a bummer it
was kind of funny too though you're like oh yeah remember that guy like remember
Sean Spicer forgot all about him but it was interesting said interesting again
but I think it's really worth the read Steve Bannon and this book comes out as
like the normal hero almost which personally is super frightening to me it
was very odd but he was like the voice of reason in this book if you're into
politics you might really enjoy it my last category is podcasts and the first
is called in the dark so it's funny I listened to season one and really liked
it it in the dark basically is an investigative
cast and season one was about a boy actually here in Minnesota who was
abducted in the late 1980s and it's never been solved so I kind of grew up
with this case looming over my childhood and they did this podcast about it and
actually it was solved as the podcast was released like the whole thing was
solved so that was really interesting and they had to like scramble to get it
all edited and how and I enjoyed it and my friend Aaron Williams who a lot of
you know has the same taste as me and podcast so I told her to watch it or
listen to it and then she said um did you listen to season 2 because it's much
better and I had it and so that is what I want to talk about today I agree it
with so much better so season 2 is about a african-american who has been
convicted of killing I think it's four or five people down south in I think
it's the early 2000s it's been a while since I finished this and what makes it
interesting is the case has been overturned and retried and he's found
guilty again like seven times like something crazy and so it was kind of
brought to attention to this journalist and she went down there and investigated
and I don't want to give too much away but it's kind of I guess kind of the
basis is did he really do it there are a lot of sketchy things that the DA did
and other witnesses did were witnesses and it actually kind of ends up being a
story a lot about the DA as well and his practices and whether or not they're
ethical in or legal and if you like serial it really reminded me of serials
so you probably love that podcast and then my last podcast is the
Bristow's made a baby it is by Becca Bristow and her husband Becca is one of
my favorite youtubers and she got pregnant and she did a weekly podcast
with her husband documenting her pregnancy and it just wrapped up because
she had her baby in December I believe and she just had a really great positive
outlook on pregnancy and her birth story is really positive and it's been fun
being pregnant listening week by week and sometimes I go back and listen to
the week that I happen to be on so if you're pregnant or you love pregnancy
podcasts definitely check that out those are my January favorites I hope
you enjoyed if you did please subscribe leave a comment below give this video a
thumbs up thank you so much for watching I hope you have a wonderful day and
whatever your plans are I hope you get them done bye guys

B. Smith's Husband Slammed By Fans For Having Girlfriend While Lifestyle Guru Suffers From Alzheimer - Duration: 4:18.As B. Smith, the woman once dubbed 'the black Martha Stewart,' suffers from Alzheimer's disease, her husband has started dating another woman – and fans are furious!
It has been nearly six years since model, restaurateur and lifestyle guru B. Smith (Barbara Elaine Smith, 69) was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The illness "ravaged her brain, jumbling her memories, turning her sentences into alphabet soup," according to the Washington Post. Her husband and business partner of two decades, Dan Gasby, 64, has cared for his wife as her condition has deteriorated, but the support he's received from all her fans turned to anger when, in December, they learned he was dating a woman named Alex Lerner, 53. Oh, she also "has a room" in B. and Dan's house. Needless to say, some fans were furious.
"You don't bring your mistress in the house where your WIFE lives. She's not dead," one irate person wrote on Facebook. Alex, a white, blonde woman, is "having her lifestyle funded by a black woman, and this white woman didn't have to build a thing with you," a YouTube blogger said, per the Washington Post. "B. Smith's husband is trash. Point blank. Married is still married," @korafbaby tweeted, while @FeministaJones weighed in with, "The audacity of this muthaf*cka to bring this woman up in his wife's house."
Others are more sympathetic to Dan's situation. "It's not my place to judge, @Kindraf tweeted. "The family is happy and B. is well cared with love and inclusion – and that is all that matters. It's not my business. I'm glad he's open as opposed to hiding that – again – doesn't concern anyone else." "Lots of thoughts on this one but I'm not one to tell anyone how their relationships should be," @sasha6S tweeted. "I'll just say this is a little strange."

Wow.
I knew B. Smith was ill… I remembered reading about it years ago
But I didn't know her husband was a whole ass piece of shit
Damn, I'm not surprised, cuz men generally aint shit when their wives get sick but c'mon man…
— And I say that humbly (@FeministaJones) January 29, 2019
I tell him all the time to be careful with what he posts," Dana, Dan's daughter from a previous marriage, told the Washington Post. "I say, 'Look, You're going to make people mad. You either have to be okay with that, or you have to change.' " She has also said that her father hasn't abandoned B. by any measure. "She's in this house. She's here every day."
B. and Dan married in 1992 and lived a happy life as her career began to skyrocket. She scored a television show, B. Smith With Style, and made frequent appearances on the Today show. She launched a magazine, opened three successful restaurants, and started a line of home goods still for sale at Bed, Bath & Beyond. In 2008, there were signs of trouble when she would "have the same conversation three times in one day," Dana said. In 2013, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and she went public with the diagnosis in 2014.
As to how B. might think about her husband going public with his girlfriend while she deals with this disease, the Washington Post says she and Dan "sometimes clashed over his flirtations" while she was still lucid. While it's impossible to know how she would react to this, a Twitter user summed it up as "situation ethics at its best."

JIGSAW | Draw My Life - Duration: 6:10.If we take a look at the news murderers that have been born in the big screen during the
last years, without a doubt, the most fascinating one among people is John Kramer, also known
as Jigsaw, the protagonist of the horror saga Saw.
Today, we'll continue with our special terror program.
Let's get to know a bit more about his macabre story.
Watch out for spoilers!
His strength comes not only from the number of victims who had fallen in his traps, more
than 50, but more likely from the wit and sadism present in his murders.
Jigsaw is not a regular killer with a bladed weapon or a gun.
He is an engineer of crime.
And this is, precisely, the profession John Kramer had before turning into a maniac killer.
His past is told mainly through the second and fourth installments of the saga, tho,
unfortunately, we dont know anything about his childhood or teenage years.
John was a civil engineer, with a successful career in the restoration of old buildings.
He was happily married to Jill Tuck, a psychologist, younger than him, whom he helped in the private
desintoxication clinic she ran and that she herself had founded.
With their patients, they used a self-help therapy transmitted through the slogan of
the company: Cherish your life.
This quote will be of a great importance in Jigsaw's genesis as a killer.
John Kramer's life seemed perfect, until suddenly, everything was turned upside down
and he suffered several blows that sank him forever.
The first one was losing the kid they were expecting, who they were gonna call Gideon
(Guídeon).
Jill was pregnant when, one night, while she was locking the clinic, she was deceived by
one of her pacients, Cecil Adams, so she could go in and steal drugs.
While escaping, Cecil hit Jill with the door, causing an internal bleeding and the loss
of the baby.
Not long after, in a routine check-up, John was diagnosed with colon cancer, which comes
from a tumor in the frontal lobe of his brain.
The tumor is inoperable, and condemns him to die soon.
However, he hangs onto his last hope, and tries to sign up for a new experimental treatment
that could save his life.
The final blow came when his insurance company refused to pay for the treatment, and John
was left without any hope.
Depressed, he decided to put an end to his life, and he jumps off a cliff with his car.
Surprisingly, he survives, but severely injured, with a metal bar through his abdomen.
In that moment, John, has a revelation and finds out how much he "cherishes his life".
He gathers the courage to to get the bar out of his body and recover to perform his work.
He dedicates the time he has to test human nature and its survival instinct.
Jigsaw doesn't consider himself a killer.
He doesnt kill directly - he puts his victims in a limit situation where they have to choose
between giving up pr fighting to survive.
At a high cost, of course, including extreme torture, from self harm to ending with others'
lives.
But it's always them making the choice.
Jigsaw doesn't enjoy his victims' suffering.
He makes them go through it so they can change the course of their crooked life.
The chosen ones are usually people who are not happy, or waste their existence and that
of others.
Kigsaw comes to remind them they have to be grateful for the gift of being alive.
And if they dont make it through the test, it means they didnt deserve that gift.
Jigsaw traps are mechanic gadgets or physical puzzles that seem to be inspired by sadistic
instruments of torture from the past.
In order to build them, he uses second hand or rotting materials, specially rusty metal
pieces, and sometimes he adds countdown mechanisms.
However, they are always a symbolic representation of the defects or sins of the victim.
Jigsaw explains the rules of the game to his victims and how they can escape through video
or audio recordings.
But he doesnt show his face directly - instead, he usually hides behind two well known symbols
for those who follow the saga.
One is Billy, a puppet John built back in the day for his future son, Gideon.
After his death, Jigsaw decided to give it a more macabre appearance and use it in his
games to communicate with his victims.
It has appeared through video recordings, and also physically, riding his own little
tricycle.
The other one is the pig mask Jigsaw and his disciples use to hide their faces when kidnapping
their victims.
It's a rubber mask covered with a wig and represents a realistic image of the head of
the animal.symbology comes from the pig in the chinese calendar, the year when his son
John was supposed to be born, and the year his crimes started to take place.
As it was expected, Jigsaw ends up dying in the third part of the safa, tho not because
of his terminal illness, but murdered by one of his victims.
However, as usual, his wit is ahead of the unexpected events, and he manages to have
his legacy ot tests continue through several disciples, during the 8 movies the saga has
had up to now.
Recently, we have enjoyed the come back of the saga to the big screen, after seven years
with no new sequels.
It seems like Jigsaw's legacy is going a long way, surprising us with new and twisted
mortal games.
