Today we're gonna be taking a look at the SOG flash Tanto
assisted open stiletto
Or are we stick around?
Welcome back to the channel crew and today we're going to be doing a little bench top review on this SOG
stiletto style
Assisted
opening
folding knife now this is
the
flash tanto
Variety now you knife aficionados out there
ae gonna quickly realize that this is a fake is a counterfeit is not a SOG
If I'm wrong
By all means please drop your comments below
but i found this knife and
With the price on it
I thought it can't be real and got it in did some research looked through some
current SOG catalogs and past catalogs
Couldn't find it anywhere
That being said it's a pretty cool little knife, so we're gonna take a look at it now
Like I said when I took it out of the box you can quickly tell. It's not SOG quality a lot of the
Finishing on it is rough around the edges where the wood meets up to the metal
little corners
Machining marks things like that
it does have a pocket clip like I said, it's the long stiletto style
Handle here it is an assisted open meaning. It has a spring when you start to open and will go the rest of the way
and it is a
stiletto
Style blade there. It is 440 steel
And despite it being a knockoff. I really like this knife. It's it's fairly sturdy is what it is for cheap knife
We've talked about it before
If it's able to cut rope
Able to open boxes and of course with that style of blade It could also
work well in a self-defense situation
So overall for the money
I think it's a pretty decent not now let's take a look at a few of the specs on this thing
The first spec we're going to take a look at since got our scale on is the weight
This knife is a little bit on the heavy side
Yeah, it's around five point two ounces, so
considerably heavier
Than the Boker Kalashnikov that is my everyday carry
However, it's got a lot of stainless. It's got a little more meat on the blade and
That sort of thing would of course warrant it being
heavier
Also you will notice it is a locking blade here is the
lock for the blade to fold it back up that's pretty traditional
No big deal there next let's get some measurements on this thing, so we'll measure it closed first
And we get just a little bit actually over four and a half inches there it looks like closed
So now we will
Open it and go over all length looks like we're about eight and a half inches
Overall so that obviously would put the blade somewhere in the neighborhood of
Four inches on that so there you go crew even though it is a counterfeit even though. It is a knockoff
there
Is the lowdown on
What this particular company is calling a SOG flash
tanto
