We switched it up a little bit for March Madness,
we're gonna do Mya's Bracket.
So, here at BET, we put together a Final Four
of classic artists from the 90s era.
The R&B that we think were dope.
- And we're gonna get you-- - That's some era.
And we're gonna put the pressure on you now.
- You're gonna have to decide. - Alright.
You're gonna have to decide.
So, the Final Four, we have it right here.
We have epic right here, we got Mary J. Blige vs. Lauryn Hill
and then we got Brandy vs. Monica, classic.
How can y'all compare anybody?
That's so hard, I listen to all of these wonderful ladies.
So, let's get right into it.
We have right here, Mary J. vs. Lauryn Hill.
- You know. - This is so hard.
I know it's hard, so what I'ma do is, I'ma go first, you know.
So, personally, I feel like Mary J. has a bigger body of work,
you know, her resume speaks longer.
So, that's why I'ma choose Mary J. over Lauryn Hill.
Even though she had a classic album
but the body of work, I feel like, speaks louder.
What you think?
I mean, I love classic hip hop, I love R&B, I love bars,
I love consciousness, Mary J. is everything to me
with harmony, music composition, the list goes on and the body of work.
And fashion and her swag, "Hey, hey".
But Miss Lauryn Hill...
I'm gonna have to go with because she has taught me some things,
I've had to look in the dictionary, almost for every song.
And she was conscious at 22!
Even if it is, you know, that one album that she had served,
She's just a timeless, very empowering artist,
all of them are but I go with Miss Hill for that reason.
I really want Mary J. and Miss Hill to have, you know, a baby!
Mary Hill, and I would be completely satisfied.
So, right now, we're gonna get into Brandy vs. Monica.
This is a classic battle, for years now, you know, so... I'ma go with...
- That's so hard! - It is, man, it is.
I'ma go with Brandy.
- Oh my God. - I'ma go with Brandy.
I'ma go with Brandy, I'ma take her over Monica,
I feel like...
And I feel like, just where Brandy is musically
and she had the movies, the Moesha show, it's just like...
That was like, my childhood, you know what I'm saying,
I grew up on like--
I grew up on her, so I'ma take her! What you think?
Brandy for runs, I choose, like, she is the vocal bible of runs.
And harmony, you know, she knows her stuff musically.
And Monica, I mean, Monica is the realest it gets
and she came out when she was like, 15 as well.
So, these ladies have...
[laughing]
Evolved into queens, I think they've always been...
You know, even at 15.
And I really respect both of them vocally.
I'ma have to go with Monica for the swag and realness.
There's disagreement, it's all good.
I'm a good friend to you, it's all good, so we got Br--
- We got Monica over Brandy. - Yeah.
This is for the chip, national championship.
This is #Mya'sfinalfour.
Are you gon' take Lauryn Hill over Monica
or are you gon' take Monica over Lauryn Hill?
This is strictly just personal, music, we're talking strictly music.
OK, if we're talking just about music,
I've always wanted to work with Lauryn Hill in the studio
and get another perspective, Monica and I are so similar.
It would be like working with myself, you know,
and I've never really gotten the chance to converse with Lauryn
but I have with my girl Monica,
so I would definitely choose Lauryn for that reason.
- Definitely, OK. - Yeah.
OK, so Lauryn Hill, that's who you choosing.
I dig it, I dig it, you know the fans--
I love everybody, come on now.
Definitely, these are all true queens, all true queens right here
but I definitely understand what you're saying,
how Lauryn Hill just impacted you musically.
She's touched so many lives in that genre.
So, I definitely understand that.
So, that's here for Pull Up.
You know, once again, it's your boy, B-Mac
and I'm here with the beautiful and the talented Miss Mya.
- Glad having you here. - Hey.
