>>AVIRIS is a type of a camera.

If you're on an airplane, for example, and you take a picture with your iPhone, the picture

will tell you things about what you're looking at.

It might tell you that there's reef there, it might have nice colors, but your camera

only sees in the visible part of the spectrum- red, green, blue.

But with AVIRIS you have a camera that essentially has 224 detectors across the visible spectrum

all the way to the shortwave infrared, collecting the sunlight bouncing off of whatever we're

looking at, and giving us a data cube, a spectrum, of everything that you're looking at.

Different things will have their own unique spectrum.

And therefore we can then compare that to a spectral library to know what we're looking

at.

You're able to know things like how much coral there is in a given reef, perhaps what

type of species of a plant you're looking at if you're over a forest.

It's an augmented type of camera that gives scientists a lot more information than a regular

camera would.

AVIRIS sits right above this window.

When the pilots hit Q6 to begin recording a line, the shutter here essentially retracts

and exposes the scan head to begin scanning during the flight line.

After the end of each flight line the pilot presses Q6 again and you have that shutter

window go back in place, until you repeat the process over each line.

When I was a little kid, I wanted to be an astronaut, I wanted to do engineering work;

became an aerospace engineer, started working at JPL, and got involved with imaging spectrometers,

working both on the hardware, but also on, essentially the mission logistics of what

it takes to collect the data.

I've been working with the principal investigators for both the coral reef team and the volcano

team.

So when a scientist gives me information about what area they're interested in, I go in Google

Earth and I'll measure what the width of that feature is, then I have another tool where

I put in all the different parameters of the airplane, the airspeed, the field of view,

and I will plot out a given number of lines that will cover that area.

So a narrow coral reef section of an island, it might only require one pass, but an area

where there's a large bay, it might require two passes to make sure you have enough coverage.

Up or Down? The Haunted Mansion Stretching Room - Duration: 2:54.

When you step into the famous octagonal room, your first stop at the Haunted Mansion, the

disembodied ghost-host asks: "Is this room actually stretching?

Or is it just your imagination?"

Well it's not your imagination.

It is stretching, but in which direction?

The answer to that question actually depends on which Haunted Mansion you're visiting.

Both rooms do stretch.

However in Disneyland over in California guests are lowered down as the room stretches while

guests over in Disney World in Florida remain put as the ceiling stretches upwards.

So why is that?

Well the original design was born out of necessity.

You see, Disneyland isn't a very large park, and so Disney always had to be careful with

how they used the space they had.

When it came time to designing the Haunted Mansion, the idea was to place the bulk of

the ride building on the outer edge of the park, outside of the Disneyland Railroad which

acted as a border.

The ride's facade and entrance, however, would remain on the inside of the park, creating

the problem of getting guests onto the other side of the railroad tracks.

That's where the stretching room comes in.

By lowering everyone underground on the open air elevator disguised as a room, guests would

be able to easily and safely make their way to the doom buggies where they could experience

the ride on the other side of the tracks.

Over in Florida size wasn't an issue so they didn't have to employ the same solution.

In fact, it would have been hard to do even if they wanted to.

Because the waterbed in Florida is so shallow, Disney can't dig too far down into the ground.

It's the same reason why the famous underground tunnels known as the utilidoors aren't actually

underground.

They were built first on the surface level of the land, and the rest of the Magic Kingdom

was built on top of it.

Even though they didn't need to lower guests underground in Disney World, the stretching

room was still a key part of the Haunted Mansion.

So instead, the room was designed such that the upper half would raise up when stretching

while guests stood in place.

That said, there is one similar instance of that trick being used in the Magic Kingdom.

Because the main building for Space Mountain sits outside of the Walt Disney World Railroad,

guests need to somehow get onto the other side of the tracks.

That's why the queue for Disney World's Space Mountain requires descending a few gradual

ramps before eventually ascending back up into the main queue room.

The Haunted Mansion's stretching room is a wonderful example of Imagineering ingenuity.

When faced with a problem they found a creative solution that not only solved the issue, but

made for a memorable part of an even more memorable ride.

Feds SLIP UP On $1 Billion Of Social Security – This Is REALLY Bad…

The social security system in this country is fundamentally flawed, and Republicans have

been trying to change it for years.

Though Democrats have successfully been able to stop them until now, what just happened

indicates that they won't be able to do so much longer.

A recent audit just found that the Social Security Administration paid out over $1 billion

in benefits to people that don't have social security numbers, meaning people who should

not be receiving social security at all.

Yes, in the last 10 years, the SSA paid $1 billion to 22,426 representative payees who

did not have a social security number and who the SSA did not follow its policy to get

a paper application from.

"[U]nless it takes corrective action, we estimate SSA will pay about $182.5 million

in benefits, annually, to representative payees who do not have an SSN or paper application

supporting their selection," the inspector general said, according to Right Wing News.

Making matters even worse, the inspector general also found that the SSA paid $853.1 million

since 2004 to representative payees that had been terminated by the agency.

The agency never updated the system when someone was terminated and did not keep up with paper

applications.

Shockingly, the SSA responded by defending their actions, only switching to an Electronic

Representative Payee System.

"Representative payees play a significant role in many beneficiaries' lives.

We have approximately 5.7 million representative payees managing annual benefits for approximately

8 million beneficiaries.

When appointing representative payees, we adhere to guidance in the Social Security

Act," the SSA said in a statement.

"Specific to this audit, the Act permits us to appoint, in certain circumstances, an

undocumented alien, or applicant who resides outside the United States without a Social

Security number to serve as payee," the SSA continued.

"Specifically, the Act states we should verify a person's SSN (or employer identification

number) in our investigation of the payee applicant.

However, the Act does not state that the applicant must have an SSN to serve as a payee."

Democrats' pathetic allegations that Trump colluded with Russia in order to win the election

has ricocheted keenly in the direction of none other than Clinton's campaign manager

John Podesta.

Young Conservatives reported that Clinton's campaign manager John Podesta received $35

million dollars from Rusnano, a fund directly funded by the Kremlin.

This money was given directly to Podesta's firm, Joule.

This bombshell was revealed this week during a Fox News interview with Peter Schweizer,

the author of "Clinton Cash."

"In 2011, John Podesta joins the board of this very small energy company called Joule

Energy based out of Massachusetts," Schweizer said.

"About two months after he joins the board of a Russian entity called Rusnano, puts a

billion rubles which is about 35-million-dollar into John Podesta's company.

Now, what is Rusnano?

It's not a private company, Steve.

It is a fund directly funded by the Kremlin.

In fact, the Russian science minister called Rusnano, Putin's child.

So you have the Russian government investing in one John Podesta's businesses in 2011,

while he is an advisor to Hillary Clinton at the State Department."

"What makes the Podesta case clear is there was a transfer of money and there was a transfer

of a lot of money that stood to make John Podesta a lot of money," he added.

"That is unique and that's extremely troubling because at the time that transfer is taking

place he is advising Hillary Clinton at the State Department.

We know that from the Podesta emails that he is helping her make personnel decisions,

speech decisions, policy decisions.

He is meeting with her monthly.

It's a transfer of money from a foreign government, at the time, that is he was advising

America's chief diplomat, Hillary Clinton."

Look What Trump Did After Meeting With Condoleezza Rice…

President Donald Trump shocked everyone on Friday by meeting with someone that nobody

was expecting him to…WNP Insider reported that Trump met with former Secretary of State

Condoleezza Rice.

This was surprising given the fact that Rice called for Trump to drop out of the presidential

race last October after his infamous Access Hollywood video leaked.

"Enough!

Donald Trump should not be President.

He should withdraw," Rice wrote on Facebook on October 8.

"As a Republican, I hope to support someone who has the dignity and stature to run for

the highest office in the greatest democracy on earth."

However, it seems that Trump and Rice have now put this behind them.

this morning," White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer stated on Twitter."Great meeting

with a wonderful woman today, former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice!" Trump himself

Looks like the muddy waters surrounding the Russian hacking "scandal" just got a lot

more murky.

According to the Daily Mail, WikiLeaks has published hundreds more files today which

it claims show the CIA went to great lengths to disguise its own hacking attacks and point

the finger at Russia, China, North Korea and Iran.

The 676 files released today are part of WikiLeaks' Vault 7 tranche of files and they claim to

give an insight into the CIA's Marble software, which can forensically disguise viruses, trojans

and hacking attacks.

WikiLeaks says the source code suggests Marble has test examples in Chinese, Russian, Korean,

Arabic and Farsi (the Iranian language).

Marble software "is used to hamper forensic investigators and anti-virus companies from

attributing viruses, trojans and hacking attacks to the CIA" by "hiding … text fragments

used in CIA malware from visual inspection."

The source code shows … Marble has test examples not just in English but also in Chinese,

Russian, Korean, Arabic and Farsi.

This would permit a forensic attribution double game, for example by pretending that the spoken

language of the malware creator was not American English, but Chinese, but then showing attempts

to conceal the use of Chinese, drawing forensic investigators … to the wrong conclusion.

A previous Wikileaks disclosure showed that the CIA hacking program was enormous in size

and that its "hackers had utilized more code than that used to run Facebook."

Its ability is also enormous — it can turn on normal household electronics like phones

and television microphones.

The revelation that the CIA can not only hack but blame others for the hacking is sure to

raise concerns.

Especially since Congress is currently investigating alleged Russian hacking into the 2016 election.

Concerns have also been raised about the disclosure of the CIA's tactics — our enemies now

know some of our tactics.

on the mainstream media for continuing to ask questions about a connection between Donald

to sign off on Russia's purchase of a controlling stake in Uranium One, an international mining

company headquartered in Canada.

Around this same time, a Russian investment bank paid Bill Clinton $500,000 for a speech.

"When you talk about connections to Russia, the only connection that anyone's made with

President Trump is multiple years ago he hosted a pageant there and he's — some of the

— you know, he owns condos around the world and some of them were sold to some Russians

and I think he sold a house to one several years back.

That's his connection," Spicer said.

"So when you compare the two sides in terms of who's actually engaging with Russia,

trying to strengthen them, trying to act with them, trying to interact with them, it is

night and day between our actions and her actions," he said.

"And yet no one questioned what she was doing or how she was handling it."

My single starts off really kind of confidently.

It says, you know, "People say the meanest things,

I've been called a dick, I've been called so many things."

And it goes on to say "I saw you standing outside a bar,

I would've said you're beautiful, but I've used that line before."

My new album, The Afterlove, for me it's a different sounding

album. I'm excited by it. I took two years and made an album

that, for me, is more upbeat. It's not just me on a guitar

singing some miserable songs. I think I kinda put together a

dream team of people to help. I was working with Ed Sheeran

and Ryan Tedder, who's the lead singer of One Republic.

I have done four albums that were all related to each other,

and I'm proud of them, but they are in the past and I don't want

to repeat myself, and my friends are saying, you know,

James, this is an album the first time. We don't want to lie to you,

it sounds very different, and for that reason,

I'm really excited about it.

I took Ed Sheeran skiing, because he couldn't ski,

so I taught him how to ski by day and he taught me

how to write songs by night.

You know, Ed's not the greatest keeper of secrets,

but he's a phenomenal songwriter, and so it's been

a genuine pleasure to write with him.

And a lesson, really, genuinely. My first album was very open

in its lyrics and then I kind of closed up a little bit.

And he said, come on, this is our job,

let's have some really clear lyrics,

which is what he's best at. And so you can really hear

where I'm at in my life on this new album.

Twitter is a strange phenomenon where people voice

their opinions. Which, once upon a time, we were told you should

keep your opinion to yourself. Or, if you haven't got anything

nice to say, don't say it at all. But Twitter has kind of

reversed that and people say whatever they like and I hope

I'm laughing, not just at the people who might be

writing things, but laughing at myself.

But to me, this is the most basic setup

There are 3 basic things that I put on all of my gun

It is the aiming device, laser

Flashlight

and red dot sight

Why choose red dot?

Because red dot can be used in many circumstances and ranges close to far.

Trijicon MRO is my red dot of choice

The field of view is very wide, wider than T1

That's why I like it

Next we have the light

Everygun need a flashlight

Because you can not shoot at something that you do not see

My light is a Surefire M951V

It is connected to the dual pressure switch

Here I have my aiming device, the Element LA-5B

This device have infrared ray (for use with night vision goggles)

Don't know you can see the infrared

Laser

And both laser and light

For when my primary light is down

laser

Both these devices are connected to my dual pressure switch

You can see I keep the wires here with zip tie

Keep it close to rail, no messy or entangled

My light is mounted on a Haley Strategic Thorntail MIL620 mount

45 degrees to make it close to the rail

There's a hump on one so in the dark you know you have 2 different buttons

The switch with the hump is the light

The light switch is momentary only (you need to hold it for constant light)

You will not want to keep it on constant because the enemy will detect your location

The second switch is the laser

You can press the second button twice

For constant on

Then turn it off

Next up is back up sights

When using any electronic devices there are chances of failure and battery outage

So backup sights is a necessity

Here I have a KAC Sight Micro that is very compact

Mounted behind the LA-5 with no obstruction whatsoever

Back here I have a Magpul MBUS Gen 2 sight

One button to deploy

I can even use this MBUS through the red dot

Because they cowitness 1/3 with eachother

Very good and slick, only one button to deploy

Next we need a sling mount

Depending on you slings choice you may or may not need this

I choose 2 points sling because it automatically slide the gun to the back

Very fast

Weapon manipulation is also very easy

Switching shoulder is an ease

One more thing to point out is that you should setup your light and laser switches

Where you can reach with both hand

If you only put them on one side

Like many people put them here

When you switch hand

You won't be able to press them

If you mount them on the 12 o'clock positon then you can reach 'em with both hands

This is a basic thing that many people do not know yet

how important it is for the American people to know that such crimes are being investigated.

Gowdy even warns Comey that if he doesn't take this invasion of privacy seriously, HE

may be the next victim!

the full-scale cleaning operation results in the Arctic.
