Google Doodle Celebrates the Legacy of Pioneering Aviator Bessie Coleman.

The letters spelling Google were rendered in the vapor trails of swooping, looping biplanes in a Doodle marking what would be the 125th birthday of aviator Bessie Coleman, Thursday.

Coleman became the first female pilot of African-American descent, and also the first woman of Native American descent, to hold a pilot's license.

And she soared despite the many forces attempting to ground her, Google writes on a page commemorating her life.

After excelling academically at a segregated, one-room Texan school Coleman would walk four miles to reach each morning—all the while helping her sharecropping parents harvest cotton—the would-be pilot moved to Chicago and worked two jobs in order to earn enough to enroll in aviation school.

But despite five years of of saving, she was barred from entering U.S. aviation schools on account of being black and a woman. Undeterred she traveled to Paris where she earned her wings in just one year.

She would later return to Europe to train as a stunt pilot when U.S. schools again refused her admission.

As a barnstorming airshow performer "Queen Bessie" wowed American audiences with daring, complex stunts before an equipment failure led to her death at 34.

Coleman had dreamed of opening an aviation school for pilots of color before her life was cut tragically short. Instead, her indomitable spirit inspired generations:

"Because of Bessie Coleman, we have overcome that which was worse than racial barriers. We have overcome the barriers within ourselves and dared to dream," wrote pioneer aviator and civil writes activist Lieutenant William J. Powell.

What you should know about aqua CAKE paint! ► Bodypainting Tutorial - Duration: 1:49.

Welcome to the world of colors

and everything you should know about body painting! :D

I'm ShiSha Rainbow

and I'll tell you all about aqua paint in cake form.

First things first

I've made a video about advantages and disavantages of aqua paint before.

And you should check it out first! ;)

Technique #1: The very dry consistency.

For this effect we use only a small amount of color and no water.

This technique is perfect for smokey shadows.

Technique #2: Dry consistency

Here we're still using just a small amount of paint but add a drop of water.

This works especially well for harsher color transitions.

Technique #3: the creamy consistency

For this we use as much water as we use paint

and activate the color well.

This will make the paint very opaque and well covering

and ensure that the color doesn't run.

That's especially useful for painting large areas

which is what body painting is about after all. :)

Technique #4: liquid consistency.

Here we are using a little more water than paint for the application.

This technique offers semi-coverage and is therefore most useful for delicate lines.

Technique #5 is the very thin consistency.

Here we're using a good amount of water on a relatively small amount of paint.

This method is great for splashes, aquarelle look or even for soft shadows.

I would definitely recommend the cake form of this aqua paint

if you're working on very detailed elaborations

or if you are drawing tattoos, working with lights and shadows

or also for merging different areas and techniques

the paint has to offer depending on how you mix it.

So

If you liked this video and it was of some help,

leave me a "thumbs up"

Otherwise subscribe to my channel so I see you around!

Cheerio! :D

Strange Pregnancy Sign IMPLANTATION BLEED I thought was my period - Duration: 7:09.

welcome back it's Lynn from Achieve The Birth You Want.

today I wanted to

tell you that if you are trying to get

pregnant but you just had what you think

is the period I maybe try and do

a pregnancy test in a week's time or

something because you never know you

might actually pregnant

it might have been, what I learned was an

implantation bleed. today i want to share

with you how i found out that I was

pregnant with my first baby and the

earlier signs and symptoms and why I didn't find

out till so late

back then we just got back from my honeymoon I

was back into full swing with a

full clinic and really good at works and

we weren't planning on having a baby just yet

and then one day I realized that I was

getting more and more tired and I guess

put it down to the fact that had a

really heavy case load and I'm

working a very physical job so it was

probably just that then I felt that my

breast were more tender or saw but put that

down to get normal period symptoms

I started getting nauseous at work and

i would start feeling like i wanted to vomit

I would get this really sudden

urge every now and then and I never

quite felt like wretching

wrecking but I really had to hold

it down and I likely that down to

maybe I was jut severely tired

maybe I needed to just get

out and go on holiday again see more

sunlight but it was when I was treating

one of my patients who is a lovely

mother of three herself and she's the

one who told me she was looking at me

right now tuning into it

are you pregnant I said it was the

it was the weiredest thing

is some people think that but you you

look like you know you look like you I

and you're saying that you're nauseous

and she going

we developped quite a good relationship relationship and

we were talking a lot

and she knew that I was feeling like she

knew that I wanted to vomit

it's been going on for quite some time

it wasn't just a one-off food poisoning

or something like that so she was

smiling to herself she's looking at me

and I think looking back now I must have

been really quite funny maybe was

obvious to her anything she convinced me

to go back to go and get a pregnancy

test and check it out

I told it was possible i just had my

period and so like I definitely wasn't

it so i was i bought the pregnancy kit i

had already dismissed the idea in my

head completely allegories go to the GP

to check out maybe needed a blood test

or something so I do this I did the pee stick

test in the morning before

going to work out really well i thought

ok I just need to do it to dismiss that

as an option so that when i go to my GP

we can discuss about what other wasn't

having what conditions like it's

probably be suffering so I peed on the

stick really quick

it's popped on the table that happens

and grab my shoes and bags have to wait

a couple minutes where it takes and I

grabbed it to the way out i remember

glancing at it thinking yup it's negative

and I literally had to take it a second take

that doesn't mean negative

doesn't it

fumbling through the packaging

oh ok where the instruction ?

i was reading it over and over and over

again and I couldn't believe it i was

pregnant this is crazy

how is this possible I just had my

period so I thought okay I'm gonna go to

work and buy some more and re-test and

it may be that was just a dud I was

definitely more aware of the nausea then

and everything seemed to click and I

thought well they might my breasts are

tender and swollen and even though I

really just had my period I don't really

nauseous all the time and I'm really

tired.

I i went to discuss it with my GP

and i'm looking online for how

all could be possible already my period

and I found two interesting things

firstly it is absolutely possible that

women still have periods while they're

pregnant and some unfortunate women out

there do have the entire frame it's been

hella diesel one parent hoping that at

least even though everything else

changes and other things feel with that

you don't have to have filled with

different periods that we was little

while could be back and vents the second

thing that turned out which turned out

to be and it's an implantation bleed

that's when the fertilized embryo

actually fixes to the uterus wall embeds

itself and then so is going to break some small blood vessels

that's when and you can get a bloody

discharge which can be like a period

pink to red even dark brownish so any

kind of discharge like that it's not

your period and kind is not your cycle

then it could be back now I I live here

always be you know very light anyway so

for me I just assistant at that I don't

keep them elements keeping track of

anything that we weren't planning

anything

and so it was the biggest suprise and

looking back now it seems obvious this

so if you have

being trying and you you know you're

you're you're doing the ovulation test and

has to know when you're most fertile

and you think that you have high

chance of being pregnant but you just had a

period don't dismiss it straightaway and

see what happens

when you do the test. there are so many

other little signs and symptoms and

everybody has different pregnancies

or pregnancy is different and I think

that i'll be more aware of these when we

start trying for a second baby i'll

definitely be on the look out for these

have a full page of different pregnancy

signs and symptoms so you can over there

at channelmum.com/pregnancy-symptoms

symptoms please let me know if anyone

else had that insight agency

door similar story like this of I don't

know any other strange kind of symptoms

thatmake you think oh I might be pregnant that

you found this helpful in anyway it's we

share your friends and give it a thumbs

up if you are trying that I have

everything craft for you after you

subscribe to my channel if you're

pregnant or trying to be as you don't

Korean economy grows 2.7% in 2016 - Duration: 2:17.

The Korean economy grew two-point-seven percent last year,... logging a slightly slower pace

of expansion.... than the government was hoping for.

Growth in the fourth quarter was also the slowest since the second quarter of 2015.

Shin Se-min has more.

The Korean economy grew two-point-seven percent last year,...

short of the government's two-point-eight percent target.

With it, the country's economy posted a growth below the three percent mark for two consecutive

years.

"Private consumption is the main driver of Korea's economic growth... at almost 50 percent.

There was a significant on-quarter increase in facility investment,... but slowing domestic

demand, from a zero-point-five percent rise in the third quarter to zero-point-two percent

in the fourth,... affected the overall growth rate."

The Bank of Korea said the growth was dragged down by a sharp drop in construction investment

and a slowdown in private spending,... in the face of a developing political scandal

that shook the nation to its core.

And measures like the government's expansionary fiscal policy, worth 9-point-7 billion U.S.

dollars,... a nationwide sales event in October,... and temporary designated holidays in May and

in June,... relatively garnered some degree of success in stimulating private spending.

And experts say, such government-initiated efforts will likely be necessary, looking

ahead this year,... despite a pickup in exports, which we're already seeing in key items like

chips and displays.

"As there seems to be not much room for increase in wages, there will not be any boost in private

consumption.

And the wage issue is something that can only be resolved through improved conditions on

the employment front.

So all in all, things won't be easy this year without the government's extra help."

Bracing for such concern,... Korea's finance minister unveiled plans to stabilize the people's

livelihoods by frontloading more than 30 percent of the government's 2017 budget - some 72

billion U.S. dollars - in the first quarter,... a method that it has relied on for the past

couple of years.

Why Blue is the Warmest Colour's Adéle Exarchopolous was worried about her latest love scene - Duration: 3:12.

Do you feel like you're always being compared to that performance?

I will, always. I mean, that's the movie people have in mind because

it's a movie where the camera is so close and at the same time the story is so

emotionally and inside and you can feel my skin and I have no make up

so people have this feeling that they know me, so yeah I will always

be compared to this one.

On the movie with Lèa, we didn't know if this movie was going to have success or not

and I didn't know anything because I was really young in cinema but we knew that

something was special and, since this movie, my life is special.

I mean, all the time I'm like, "Where would I be if I hadn't made this movie?"

But what was really funny in Orpheline was that I was like,

"I'm going to play love with another girl other than Lèa and how are people going to get that?

Aren't they going to think about it when they watch the movie?" But at the end it was

really natural because I met Gemma and, I mean, she's as beautiful as Lea

so that was nice too and she's really talented.

What do you feel the movie is ultimately saying about the experience of being a woman

in this day in age, in this moment in time?

It's hard to keep your freedom because you're always feeling a judgement from somewhere.

We're not supposed to have the same freedom in sexuality...

I mean, even just in cinema. For example, actors don't have to sell their bodies,

we are not prostitutes, but they don't have to sell their image like we have to do.

There's a lot of producers who tell me, "You know what, you should lose like 2 kg, you will be perfect."

And when you are a guy, you don't give a fuck. I mean, Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio del Toro,

all those guys have their own and when you're a woman, there's something where the actress is conditioned.

Do you have a long term view of your life as an actress?

Yeah, I think I have a lot to learn about. Of course I have dreams like everyone, like there are directors

I dream to be working with but I'm not focusing on America, for example. If it comes, it's cool

but I love America Latina cinema, spanish one, people who just single on women

in a special way. It's subjective, but in a way that I love. What I'm going to become if it stops

I need to find something and I don't know.

I don't think you're going to have to worry about that. Your performance in this movie

and everything you've done has been absolutely brilliant and I honestly wish you the best

it was so lovely to talk to you this morning.

Thank you, you too. Pleasure.

Who was Bessie Coleman and why does she still matter? - Duration: 6:35.

Who was Bessie Coleman and why does she still matter?

The first African American female to become a pilot, born on this day 125 years ago, remains an inspiration to many.

Bessie Coleman was the first African-American female to become a licensed pilot in 1921. Defeating gender and racial prejudice, the then 29-year-old became a symbol for millions of women of colour at a time when African Americans were still battling segregation and fighting for equal rights across the country.

On Thursday, Coleman would have been 125 years old. To mark her birthday, Google paid homage to her with a Doodle on its homepage.

Who was Bessie Coleman? Born on January 26, 1892. in Atlanta, Texas, Coleman grew up inspired by World War I stories and the famous Wright brothers, credited with building and flying the world's first airplane.

After completing high school, she was admitted to the Oklahoma Colored Agricultural and Normal University, now known as Langston University, where she spent a year before heading to Chicago in 1915.

How did Coleman become a pilot? Coleman was rejected from American aviation schools because of the colour of her skin and her gender. She was told to attend an international aviation school in France, so spent her savings learning French and headed to Paris in 1920.

"I knew we had no aviators, neither men nor women, and I knew the race needed to be represented along this most important line, so I thought it my duty to risk my life to learn aviation and to encourage flying among men and women of our race, who are so far behind the white race in this modern study," she famously said.

While in Paris, Coleman spent about seven months learning how to fly, and was rewarded with an international pilot's licence in 1921 by the Federation Aeronautique Internationale.

Upon her return to the United States, Coleman became known for her extraordinary stunts and was dubbed "Queen Bess". She continued to face restrictions in the US and spoke of the difficulties, coining the phrase: "The air is the only place free from prejudices."

She passed away on April 30, 1926 in an accident during a rehearsal for a show. She was 34.

Women in the aviation industry During the 1960s, more American women were able to enter areas that had until then been the preserve of men. In 1960, one in every 21,417 women was a pilot. In 1980, the number was one in 4,220 women. In 2010, it was one in 5,623 women.

The aviation industry today While gender remains one layer of discrimination, African American men and women face another level of prejudice. More than 90 percent of pilots in the US are white.

In late 2016, a group of 18 African American pilots alleged a pattern of racism at United Airlines, claiming that is had an "utter lack of diversity at the management level" and systematically kept black employees from entering the managerial ranks.

Aviation worldwide Worldwide, the aviation industry remains overwhelming male, and in most part white. In South Africa, despite apartheid ending in 1994, only 4 percent of the 17,252 pilots in the country are black, and only 241 are black women.

Clown Charged for Alleged Possession of Child and Animal Pornography - Duration: 1:52.

An Oklahoma firefighter and clown who was arrested weeks ago amid child pornography-related

accusations has been charged with multiple offenses, Tulsa World reported over the weekend.

Zackery Perry, a former Muskogee firefighter, was charged last Thursday with aggravated

possession of child pornography; publishing, distributing, or participating in obscene

material; and child sexual exploitation.

Perry was also charged with "crimes against nature," with investigators alleging in a

probable cause affidavit that he had "been involved in or facilitated" the recording

of a sexual act involving a canine.

According to the affidavit, Perry allegedly had "1,378 images and videos" either related

to or directly depicting child pornography.

The alleged facilitation and/or recording of a sexual act involving a canine, investigators

said, was discovered via "photos, videos, and texts" related to such an act between

an adult woman and a dog.

A woman notified authorities on January 5th that Perry had allegedly sent her "pornographic

videos and pictures of children" and had asked her for photos of her 8-year-old child.

Perry and the woman had reportedly been using KIK to communicate.

After Perry's subsequent arrest, Muskogee Police Department PIO Lincoln Anderson said,

"He had things that nobody should have with children, that's the bottom line."

"About the time we get all caught up on the apps these people are using for this stuff,

10 more pop up.

They can't keep track of all the ones that are getting used for this stuff."

On January 11th, Perry reportedly resigned from his position with the Muskogee department,

where he also worked as a clown.

Officials said Perry would dress in full clown attire to entertain children during its annual

fire prevention month activities.

Perry's next court appearance is scheduled for February 2nd.

She was the first female pilot of African American descent and was also the first woman

of Native American descent to hold a pilot license.

She is also the first person of African American and Native American descent to hold an international

pilot license.

Because flying schools in the United States denied her entry, she taught herself French

and moved to France, and got her license in just seven months.

Coleman specialized in stunt flying and parachuting.

She remains a pioneer of women in the field of aviation.

Bessie Colemans Aviator Biography(Wiki) Google Doodles Bessie Coleman's 125th Birthday Anniversary - Duration: 6:49.

Today's Doodle celebrates Bessie Coleman's 125th Birthday

Bessie Coleman, the first African American female pilot, grew up in a cruel world of

poverty and discrimination.

The year after her birth in Atlanta, Texas, an African

American man was tortured and then burned to death in nearby Paris for allegedly raping

a five-year-old girl.

The incident was not unusual; lynchings were endemic

throughout the South.

African Americans were essentially barred from voting by literacy tests.

They couldn't ride in railway cars with white people, or use a wide range of

public facilities set aside for whites.

When young Bessie first went to school at the age of six, it was to a one-room wooden

shack, a four-mile walk from her home.

Often

there wasn't paper to write on or pencils to write with.

When Coleman turned 23 she headed to Chicago to live with two of her older brothers, hoping

to make something of herself.

But the Windy City offered little more to an

African American woman than did Texas.

When Coleman decided she wanted to learn to fly, the double stigma of her race and gender

meant that she would have to

travel to France to realize her dreams.

It was soldiers returning from World War I with wild tales of flying exploits who first

interested Coleman in aviation.

She was also spurred on by her brother, who taunted

her with claims that French women were superior to African American women because they could

fly.

In fact, very few American women of any race had pilot's licenses

in 1918.

Those who did were predominantly white and wealthy.

Every flying school that Coleman approached refused to admit her because she was both

black and a

woman.

On the advice of Robert Abbott, the owner of the "Chicago Defender" and one of the first

African American millionaires, Coleman decided to learn to fly in

France.

Coleman learned French at a Berlitz school in the Chicago loop, withdrew the savings

she had accumulated from her work as a manicurist and the manager of a chili

parlor, and with the additional financial support of Abbott and another African American

entrepreneur, she set off for Paris from New York on November 20, 1920.

It took

Coleman seven months to learn how to fly.

The only non-Caucasian student in her class, she was taught in a 27-foot biplane that was

known to fail frequently,

sometimes in the air.

During her training Coleman witnessed a fellow student die in a plane crash, which she described

as a "terrible shock" to her nerves.

But the

accident didn't deter her: In June 1921, the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale

awarded her an international pilot's license.

When Coleman returned to the U.S. in September 1921, scores of reporters turned out to meet

her.

The "Air Service News" noted that Coleman had become "a full-

fledged aviatrix, the first of her race."

She was invited as a guest of honor to attend the all-black musical "Shuffle Along."

The entire audience, including the several

hundred whites in the orchestra seats, rose to give the first African American female

pilot a standing ovation.

Over the next five years Coleman performed at countless air shows.

The first took place on September 3, 1922, in Garden City, Long Island.

The "Chicago Defender"

publicized the event saying the "wonderful little woman" Bessie Coleman would do "heart

thrilling stunts."

According to a reporter from Kansas, as many as 3,000 people,

including local dignitaries, attended the event.

Over the following years, Coleman used her position of prominence to encourage other

African Americans to fly.

She also

made a point of refusing to perform at locations that wouldn't admit members of her race.

Coleman took her tragic last flight on April 30, 1926, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Together with a young Texan mechanic called William Wills, Coleman was preparing for an

air show that was to have taken place the following day.

At 3,500 feet with Wills at the controls, an unsecured wrench somehow got caught in

the control gears and the

plane unexpectedly plummeted toward earth.

Coleman, who wasn't wearing a seat-belt, fell to her death.

About 10,000 mourners paid their last respects to the first African American woman aviator,

filing past her coffin in Chicago South's Side.

Her funeral was attended by

several prominent African Americans and it was presided over by Ida B. Wells, an outspoken

advocate of equal rights.

But despite the massive turnout and the tributes

paid to Coleman during the service, several black reporters believed that the scope of

Coleman's accomplishments had never truly been recognized during her lifetime.

An editorial in the "Dallas Express" stated, "There is reason to believe that the general

public did not completely sense the size of her contribution to the achievements of

the race as such."

Coleman has not been forgotten in the decades since her death.

For a number of years starting in 1931, black pilots from Chicago instituted an annual fly

over of her

grave.

In 1977 a group of African American women pilots established the Bessie Coleman Aviators

Club.

And in 1992 a Chicago City council resolution requested that

the U.S. Postal Service issue a Bessie Coleman stamp.

The resolution noted that "Bessie Coleman continues to inspire untold thousands even

millions of young persons

with her sense of adventure, her positive attitude, and her determination to succeed."

Independent counsel rejects lawyer's claim Choi was denied rights - Duration: 2:39.

The lawyer for the woman at the center of Korea's massive power abuse scandal... is

claiming she was denied legal counsel during questioning... by the independent counsel

investigating the case.

While Choi Soon-sil has been summoned for questioning for the second time, her lips

has been tightly shut since her loud appearance yesterday.

Our Hwang Hojun reports.

A war of words commenced between the independent counsel team looking into the massive power

abuse scandal... and Choi Soon-sil's legal defense.

Choi's lawyer Lee Kyung-jae held a press conference on Thursday, claiming that on December 24th

last year, the only time Choi voluntarily appeared for questioning, she was interrogated

by the independent counsel under the pretense of a simple face-to-face talk -- after her

legal advisors had left -- and that this went on for approximately three hours from 10:40

p.m. to about 1 o'clock in the morning.

Lee also said Choi's interrogators not only forced her to confess to colluding with President

Park Geun-hye, but also that she was verbally abused by a senior prosecutor, who allegedly

threatened that the team will "annihilate" her entire family and her relatives.

Lee urged the probe team to reveal the surveillance footage recorded during the talk.

In response, the independent counsel spokesperson, in Thursday's afternoon briefing, denied those

claims, and said that investigators did not engage in either coercion or verbal abuse.

"In the case of Choi Soon-sil, she is the figure at the heart of this scandal and therefore

we were extra careful to carry out the investigation strictly based on law and principle.

We express deep regret over the fact that Choi has damaged the integrity and honor of

the independent counsel with these false claims."

The spokesperson also disputed the time given by Choi's lawyer.

He said said the interrogation ended before midnight, not at 1 a.m, and that Choi's legal

representatives had been notified of the face-to-face talk.

As for video footage, the spokesperson said there is no security camera installed inside

the interrogation room but there are cameras in the hallway.

Lee said the door was left open during Choi's interrogation in December with a corrections

officer sitting just outside, suggesting there was no foul play.

Choi has been undergoing a second round of questioning since Thursday morning.

She entered the counsel's office wearing a face mask and refused to answer any questions,

in contrast to her quite vocal appearance on Wednesday.

"The independent counsel team said Choi remained tight-lipped during Wednesday's questioning,

and expects a similar attitude from her in Thursday's interrogation.

Hwang Hojun, Arirang News."
