the great thing about Cefalu is it's got one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily

You can take a stroll along the golden sand

see the snogging couples, surfers

bronzed life guards, beautiful women

and men of a certain age proudly parading in famously tiny swimming trunks

I must say,

you've got to admire their balls...

Sicily is also famous for its incredible food

so we're off to pick up Nancy Jung

who is a proper food blogger and wine expert

but most importantly she has a slightly more sophisticated palate than mine

I don't need a helmet or anything?

No

you can hire a nice vespa for about 25 euros for half a day in the old town

but it won't be as stylish as Marco's set of wheels

Make sure you've got travel insurance

The shape of Cefalu from a distance looks like a snail

It's a very comfortable way to get around town

but Marco's scooter is more like a car really

It has the turning circle of an ocean liner

I've heard about Sicilian cuisine for a long time and I've been looking forward to coming here and trying the lovely food

What we want is something just

to stave off the hunger until later

and the perfect thing, I've heard tell, is arancini

I'm going to the focaccia shop, one of the oldest

but they also have arancini?

Yes, and they looked really good, that's why I'm going back

I have food instinct

Arancini with meat

and one with cheese and ham

you can really feel this crunchiness

all the other places I've been to, they microwave this and they get soggy

check out the goodness in there

or a hamburger or a kebab

I really like this because....well I really like rice anyway

This is the other type you can get which is the meat one

the Sicilians prefer this one, I actually prefer the cheese one

but they're both delicious

It's really good just as I expected

crunchy outside, generous mozzarella inside

The 366 days of 2016 were the worst of my entire life

What went wrong in 2016?

It was like something had echoed in the life of millions of people that year

There was something in the air, something ravaging which suddenly devastated everything

Funny thing how a single year can impact a life so much

Whereas there's nothing much going on during an entire decade

This year's changed me completely

I'm totally jet lagged

I don't know hat time it is anymore, I'm a mess

Actually, it's because after so much pain in my personal life

I decided reinventing myself

At the other end of the world

For 4 months

The year of 2016 was the most beautiful year of my life

Our favorite free alternative to Photoshop is Gimp.

It's an open-source application that

relies on a community of volunteer developers

You can get it for both Mac and PC,

and it comes with a lot of professional-level editing

and retouching tools, perfect for designers

who can't or won't shell out hundreds of dollars to Adobe.

Once you launch the program, you'll

find a dedicated window that displays

the image and separate windows to organize

the tool box and layers.

Icons in the tool box represent actions,

such as the crop, lasso, paint, and brush tools,

and you can apply various effects to your photos.

It may seem like Photoshop, but Gimp has its own look and feel.

PhotoScape is going to do your basic photo editing,

plus it also lets you create slideshows and animated gifs,

capture screenshots, and combine and split images.

Another cool feature is that you can customize the toolbar

to organize the features you use most.

Free comes with a price, however.

PhotoScape's software is free to download,

but it's part of the OpenCandy network,

so unfortunately, you'll get ads for other recommended software.

The Nik Collection is a full image editing

suite offered by Google, and it's now totally free.

This is one of the most powerful and complete online photo tools

at the moment.

The collection includes a group of plug-ins that

let you do a range of things.

The only downside here is that the Nik Collection

is basically one and done.

It doesn't look like Google will be offering patches or updates

to these tools, so they may not have much longevity.

Try Pixlr.com.

The site separates its photo editing

into advanced and basic options.

The Pixlr Editor is more like Photoshop.

It's a straightforward photo editing

tool that lets you crop, size, and tweak the image.

Express, on the other hand, lets you put creative overlays

on your images.

This is really for playing with your photos.

You can put a stain on a picture to make

it look like you rested a coffee mug on the photo, for example.
