Time is fast running out for Premier League clubs to get their transfer business done before the window slams shut
Fans of sides at both ends of the table will be desperately hoping their club can strengthen before 11pm on Thursday
So far this window, Premier League clubs have been surprisingly quiet. None of the top six have made a permanent signing, bar Chelsea 's capture of Christian Pulisic for next season
But there could be plenty more business to be done, with top flight teams linked with a host of players
Which team most desperately needs reinforcements? Here's what our writers reckon: Fulham - Darren Lewis Fulham: Defensively they are just not good enough and they will be relegated unless they end the window with more solidity and more leadership at the back
For all the money they have spent it is remarkable that they are the leakiest team in the Premier League
Claudio Ranieri needs to fix that this week or they will go down. Tottenham - James Nursey There is so much to admire about Mauricio Pochettino's young exciting side with so many English players
But you fear for their season going up in smoke this rate after costly injuries to Dele Alli and Harry Kane
It has contributed to successive defeats to exit the Carabao Cup semi-finals to Chelsea and the FA Cup to Crystal Palace
They can now forget about the title, I can't see them winning in Europe against German league leaders Dortmund and Spurs face a huge battle just to hang on to a Champions League qualification spot in my view
Arsenal - Neil Moxley It would be easy to write 'Spurs' and point to their current injury list as justification
But none of the issues surrounding Harry Kane or Dele Alli are long-term and Heung-Min Son is due to return shortly
Do Spurs need to strengthen? Yes. Is it absolutely necessary in the next 96 hours? Probably not
Manchester United and Manchester City appear well-set. Chelsea are unlikely to move quickly now Gonzalo Higuain has replaced Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard is staying put
I would say Arsenal. Top four qualification is hanging in the balance. Not one of their centre-halves convince
It's a priority for them to find a leader capable of filling a very big void. What would they give for a young Tony Adams in the ranks? It could mean the difference between Champions League or Europa League
If there is one out there, it is surely worth the investment. Tottenham - Adrian Kajumba No signings in the summer and a squad badly hit by injuries, Spurs need reinforcements before Thursday's deadline
Had they bolstered their squad and had more bodies to help them through their injury crisis Spurs may still be in at least one of the cup competitions still and possibly two
Now they are down to just the Premier League and Champions League and need to strengthen to keep their hopes of a top four finishing and progressing in Europe alive
Newcastle - Mike Walters If Tottenham is the club who last won the title in black-and-white, Newcastle is the club whose glory years were recorded on Pathe newsreels with Mr Cholmondley-Warner's voiceovers
In a one-club city, where the best things all come in the same barcode of black-and-white stripes, St James's Park rises like a citadel above the skyline as you trundle across the Tyne by train
Nice stadium, shame about the team. For the third time on Mike Ashley's watch, they are dicing with relegation
For it to happen once, in 2009, was downright unnecessary; for it to happen again three years ago was stupendous negligence; a third time would be simply unspeakable, unforgivable
So far, the Toon's resilience away from home has kept them above the water line - just
But their home form has been pure compost, and a large part of the problem has been the lack of attacking options to take the fight to visitors
Without Salomon Rondon, Newcastle are so feeble up front that if they punched your doorbell, you wouldn't hear it ring
If Ashley is serious about selling the club, he will get a lot more bang for his buck if he's flogging a Premier League outfit
And unless he dips his hand in the petty cash tin this week, Rafa Benitez won't be hanging around beyond the summer to count the coppers
A new striker and a creative player, a No.10 who can play between the lines, on the payroll this week will keep them up
Anything less, and it'll be squeaky bum Tyne in May. Cardiff - Andy Dunn Staying in the Premier League is an irrelevance set in the context of unimaginably tragic, recent events but Cardiff City will want to do considerable business before the deadline
Never mind the prophets of doom queuing up at the start of the season, Cardiff are within three points of 14th place with only 15 games of the season remaining
If they can recruit a decent addition in every department - a big ask, sure - they can remain in the Premier League
Tottenham - Neil McLeman After spending nothing in the summer, Daniel Levy is hardly likely to sanction a big spending spree with Spurs now out of both domestic cup competitions
But yesterday's FA Cup defeat at Crystal Palace showed the lack of depth in the Tottenham squad
Mauricio Pochettino's crass remarks about cups being for "egos" is what he believes – but he also knows his squad is not strong enough to sustain a challenge on multiple fronts
If not now, Spurs need to spend in the summer. Crystal Palace - Dave Burke Too good to go down? Maybe, but Premier League history is littered with sides condemned to the drop despite an enviable choice of players
There have been too many games where good work hasn't been rewarded for Palace. Andros Townsend has been playing out of his skin in recent weeks, and Wilf Zaha will always be a threat
But injuries to either of these, coupled with Christian Benteke's injury and loss of form and Connor Wickham's lengthy lay-off have shown up a lack of depth
Re-signing Bakary Sako is a start, but like many fans, I'd feel a lot more reassured going into the second half of the season with more attacking options to keep some space between us and the bottom three
Tottenham - David Anderson Tottenham's chastening cup losses of the last few days underline with a red marker how badly they need to invest in their squad
Mauricio Pochettino has done a fantastic job in establishing them as a top-four side and has taken them agonisingly close to winning trophies
But their current squad, as talented as it is, is too thin and it cannot cope without the missing Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli
Tottenham cannot take the final step because their squad is not strong enough. Compare them with Liverpool, a team Spurs have finished above for the last four seasons
Jurgen Klopp's Reds are top of the Premier League, nine points clear of Tottenham because they spent big in 2018
Their net spend was around £96million on the likes of Alisson and Virgil van Dijk, while Tottenham's net spend over the same 12 months was just under £14million
How can Tottenham compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City when they cannot match their levels of spending? It's not going to change in this transfer window or the next probably and Tottenham cannot spend big because all their money is going on their new stadium
This must be so frustrating for Pochettino and he has hit a glass ceiling at Tottenham
Top four is the best he can achieve, which is worrying for Tottenham with Manchester United eyeing him up as their next permanent boss
Tottenham - John Cross They are really short. Injuries are biting, cup exits may have hit morale and they desperately need reinforcements
If you stand still in this league, you go backwards. Tottenham didn't sign anyone last summer and cannot let the same happen again
Now they have just got the top four and Champions League to aim for and sometimes just a new face shakes things up
