One of the older Shrine in Japan, "Sumiyoshitaisha" on January 3rd!! So crowded !! #086 - Duration: 7:49.
That's the popular bridge in Sumiyoshi Taisha
Hey guys, welcome to Rion's TV I am Rion
Look at that
Yes, I'm at Sumiyoshi Taisha station. There's Sumiyoshi Taisha front of the station station
well Sumiyoshi Taisha is the one of the oldest Japanese Shrine and
It's 3rd of January as you see there are so many people for the Hatsumoude
Well, Hatsumoude means "the first shrine visit of the year". Well, you will see how crowded it is
Okay, so let's go to check
Well that's the popular bridge in Sumiyoshi Taisha. It's called a Taiko-bashi
The shape is looked like Japanese taiko drum. So that's why it's called a Taiko-bashi nice, huh?
Okay, so let's go back to the route
So that's the main shrine and front of that there is a place to wash your hands but it's a long line
Well looks like that one is main one right? but actually that's the third shrine so the main one is inside
Let's go check then. Yeah, don't be trapped that, you know
That's not the main one
It took like 30 minutes to go through the front of the first main shrine
There's like so many people you know, it's crazy but
Yep, I think it's pretty much that's it, though. So let's check the festival
There are so many shops
Wow, it's a so many paper lanterns, huh?
This one is called "Chochin" in Japanese and it's popular the usually in the Japanese festival
You will find a lot of Chochin which is a paper lantern it's nice huh?
I found the Milk Senbee which is a Condensed milk with a rice cracker
That was my favorite. Okay, so, Let's get it
So firstly you pick the chopsticks lotto and you will get the number and
you will received the rice crackers as many as you got in the lotto
Well, so if you are lucky then you can get 12 but then 6 ... not bad!!
Yeah, I love it it's sweet
It's so good with the rice cracker. And then this is just only 200 Japanese yen
Well, it's kind of a hard to eat, but still good though
Yeah, this one was used to be very popular when I was a kid. I used to eat a lot
But recently not that much
So if you find it tried it, it's good pretty sure you will love this
Let's go to check next one
Well, that's so crowded right, but trust me, you know in the January 1st
There are more
yep, I think more than double or 3 times more well this festival continued to the night time as well
So if you want to see the night time Matsui then so the Sumiyoshi Taisha is a good place to come
Well, I couldn't get it but then I heard there's a little snack and a fortune slip inside
and then if you got the best luck in there, then you get something that's what I heard
Well, look at that trash right there I guess they didn't
You know, prepared a much trash can right here
It looks pretty bad anyway, let's go
I'm kind of out of the shrine
There were so many people and it's so crowded huh, but it's interesting, right?
So, you know if you come to Japan
around the New Year season Sumiyoshi Taisha is really good place to come to visit
pretty much that's it

Donkey Mom Is SO Excited To See Her Baby Again | The Dodo Reunited - Duration: 4:17.
Colonel Sanders had, like, really bushy hair.
He was really cute and really tiny.
He was rescued along with his mother, Mary Poppins.
The people that rescued him couldn't keep him.
They just did it 'cause they felt bad.
I was told that Mary Poppins
was leaving to go to another rescue.
But when I heard he needed a home,
I was like, "Oh, heck yes."
Definitely a loner, at first.
He was new to the farm animals.
I don't think he really knew what to do with them.
He was very timid, not very personable.
You can tell that he missed his Mom.
Colonel was with us for a week
before I had received the phone call
that Mary was never picked up from a rescue.
Obviously, it hurt my heart.
Everything happens for a reason.
She was meant to be with Colonel.
Seven days may not seem like a long time
for a mother and son to be separated,
but whenever I saw their reunion,
I definitely kind of changed my thought on that.
When we first got here,
she had no idea what was in store for her.
Let's go see your son.
Let's go be reunited.
Come on. Come on, you can do it.
Colonel, go to your Momma.
Look! Look who's over here.
[bray] Look who it is!
It's your son! Look.
Do you see him yet? Come on, Momma.
He's right here. Come on. Come on, sweetheart.
He started, like, pacing back and forth.
He wanted to get to her as soon as possible.
It was almost like she was screaming for him,
you know, like happy tears.
I definitely got emotional.
It was really, really cool to see that.
That's my finger.
Since the reunion, Mary and Colonel
have moved to a much bigger pasture.
So they have more room to run and graze and whatnot.
They have two friends, Clara Belle and Fernando,
which are alpacas,
and they get along really well with them.
Colonel and Mary are with each other 24/7.
They each have their own feed bucket,
but they insist on eating out of the same one.
They are never more than 15 feet away from each other.
and never out of sight.
Colonel's kind of like the annoying kid,
and Mary's -- you know, she'll play and stuff,
and put up with them, but
you know she loves it at the end of the day.
Since Mary's been back in Colonel's life,
his personality has definitely changed.
He's no longer, like, that
down-and-out, Eeyore type of donkey.
He's very, very, mischievous,
super-curious, has quite the personality.
Putting forth all the effort
of getting Mary and Colonel back together again
was definitely worth it.
Animals definitely, 100 percent, with no doubt,
feel emotions, go through the same emotions as humans,
go through a healing process just like us.
What's in store for Colonel and Mary
is to live the best life they can here.
They're a part of our sanctuary, so they're never going anywhere.

Mitt Romney Is Not A "Resistance Hero," So Stop Praising Him For Calling Out Trump - Duration: 3:46.
For the last several days after Mitt Romney pinned his exceptionally weak op-ed critiquing
Donald Trump for not using manners, um, there've been too many on the left.
And in fact, MSNBC is probably the biggest culprit here on the left, trying to make Mitt
Romney a hero.
I mean, hell, MSNBC had a graphic yesterday that referred to Mitt Romney is one of the
new mavericks coming into the US Senate.
Yeah.
This 71 year old millionaire.
A worth $250 million, I think.
Uh, yeah.
He has the new maverick.
He's going to be the savior of the left in the Senate because he didn't like the way
Donald Trump spoke to people.
Mitt Romney is not a hero.
Mitt Romney is not a turncoat.
He's not a trader to Republicans, which is what Fox News is trying to say.
Everybody right now is trying to put some kind of label on Mitt Romney and it's either
hero of the resistance on Msnbc or a traitor to the Republicans over on Fox News.
The truth is that neither of those are true.
Mitt Romney admitted so himself in the actual op-ed that I'm assuming at this point, nobody
took the time to read.
The man clearly said that he agrees with the policies of Donald Trump.
He agrees with the deregulation.
He agrees with the packing of conservative justices for lifetime appointments onto our
courts, reshaping those for generations.
He agrees with the tax cuts.
He agrees with the hard line stance on immigration and MSNBC is dumb enough to sit there and
put them on a graphic and say he's the new maverick.
Thank God I don't watch that network because I'm pretty sure I would have a stroke anytime
I turned it on.
Luckily there's people on twitter who posts these screenshots talking about how ridiculous
it is and that's how I find out what MSNBC is talking about.
Same thing with Fox News, but this is insanity.
Ladies and gentlemen, Mitt Romney is not a hero to anyone.
Mitt Romney is out there for Mitt Romney and he's going to be just like jeff flake or John
McCain.
He's going to talk a big game in public or in this case in writing.
I doubt Romney would ever say these words out loud and then he's going to go to the
Senate and he's going to do it.
McCain and flake did, and he's going to vote with him 87% or more of the time, just like
every other republican out there.
There's going to be no difference in voting record.
There is no difference in policy whatsoever.
Romney, he admitted it.
He just doesn't like the way Trump says things and he was a little too harsh.
Maybe use some manners, maybe some pleases and thank you's thrown out there.
That's it.
That was Romney's critique, and if you're dumb enough to think that that makes him some
kind of hero of the anti Trump resistance, then you obviously don't understand how devastating
all of these policies that Romney is pushing our to this country because when it comes
to policy, there is no difference between a Mitt Romney, John McCain, when he was still
in the Senate.
Jeff Flake, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul or Donald Trump.
Every one of them wants to do the exact same things.
It's just that some of them aren't willing to go on twitter and insult another human
being's intelligence.
Literally, the only difference between Trump and every other republican in Washington DC.

This Little Kitten Was On The Brink Of Death, So A Woman Desperately Fought To Try And Save Him - Duration: 4:47.
tiny Winston the kitten was incredibly weak when he was dropped off with his
siblings at animal shelter feline hope in Kitty Hawk South Carolina there he
met volunteer Michelle Martel oh and while Winston was teetering on the brink
Martello knew if there was a chance to save him she had to try when Winston and
his two siblings arrived at the animal shelter their chances of survival didn't
look good it's unclear exactly what the poor kittens have been through but
whatever the truth was they were fighting for their lives it was their
precarious condition that caught volunteer Marcello's attention she works
for feline Hope a non-profit animal rescue group that provides a number of
vital services for the wider community the charity neuters and spays animals
and provides financial support to help cover medical costs for pets and Kitty
Hawk according to its website it's also a supporter of the trap neuter and
return program this initiative captures stray cats neuters them and if they're
healthy enough releases them into safe locations furthermore feline Hope
donates homeless cats to loving families it also aids sick felines like winston
and his sisters who marchello had her eye on as she raced to do what she could
to save the trio unfortunately despite Marcello's speedy response time she
couldn't help all of them another member of feline Hope lead at katulski revealed
the devastating news to love-me out in October 2018 when she got there early
the next morning two kittens had passed however tiny Winston still clung on but
his small size concerned vets of the charity the kid was approximately two or
three weeks old but poor health meant that his growth was stunted in fact
Winston was the same size as a newborn kitty but that was the least of his
problems in addition to that he hadn't eaten properly in quite a while as a
result Winston suffered from a serious case of
male nourishment Winston didn't weigh as much as he should and his dramatic
levels of dehydration indicated he hadn't been drinking properly
furthermore a flea infection had drained so much blood that it had left him with
anemia yet despite all these problems tiny
Winston fought for his life like a warrior it was only fitting that
Martello showed the same tenacity and trying to save him she got to work
treating what issues she could to keep him hanging on Martello subsequently
dedicated herself to Winston's round-the-clock care
she bathed them repeatedly until his fur was clean of the clinging dirt and even
fed the underweight kitten with a syringe so he could eat easier but even
with marchello support Winston faced an uphill struggle the brave little kittens
various health problems and troubled development left him with a compromised
immune system at one point it even looked like Winston would lose his grip
on life as his condition degenerated even further marchello had stood by
Winston through thick and thin she wasn't about to give up on him so easily
and raced the tiny cat to an emergency clinic the doctor treated Winston with
medicine and fluids but his life hung in the balance yet again Winston proved
that although he has the body of a kitten he's got the heart of a lion
he not only recovered overnight but was also well enough for another visit to
the clinic the following day since then his condition is stabilized at least it
has for the most part marchello who ended up adopting Winston kept a
constant eye on him he even accompanied her to work to avoid staying home alone
but the little Lions starting to get a little more independent and Winston's
playful personality is blossoming as his health improves feline Hope volunteer
katulski told love meow that the kittens not quite out of the woods yet but his
future looks brighter especially considering what he's had to overcome
it's a long journey back to health when something has been that close to death
for as long as he has katulski explained he only weighed as much as a newborn he
was a brillant is digestive track didn't work katulski added making it this far
has been a miracle which just describes Winston all over he started out
completely dependent on Martello but he's slowly finding his own feet now he
enjoys exploring and he even began eating solids Winston is a growing boy
but he's only as big as a sweet potato according to love meow
so he has far to go but he's not in any rush to shut his kitten hood just yet he
still savers the simple things such as his habitual snuggle with Martello at
feeding it's likely that Winston wouldn't have had his second chance at
life if it wasn't for marchello and feline hope but he isn't the only cat
the group is rescued he's just one of the many animals that Oh their lives to

Why Do We Get So Upset Over Politics? - Duration: 6:29.
I am Mr. Beat
Why won't you listen to my political views?
Why won't you see things my way?
I've got everything already figured out! And why won't you just listen to m-
Ok, I've calmed down a bit. But I just wish you would understand how my political beliefs are the best.
Anyway, I'm sorry I got so worked up there.
Hey, why DO people get so upset over politics?
Doppelganger: Oh I know!
Of course you do. Doppelganger: Group identity and views on morality
That's great. That's fine. I mean, you're right. But let's elaborate on this.
Before we get into it, I should say that I was inspired to make this video by a book I recently read called The Red and the Blue by Steve Kornacki.
Kornacki does an amazing job explaining how the United States has become so polarized politically just in my life time.
And here's a great way you can check out the book. By not reading it!
Seriously, just listen to it, on Scribd. Scribd is place where you can listen to tons of audiobooks and, well, you can read them on there too.
But yeah it's a lot cheaper than actually buying them.
It's just $8.99 per month, which is also a lot cheaper than Audible.
Scribd also has magazines, monthly live streams with celebrated authors, and a large library of sheet music for musicians.
For a 30 day free trial, click the link in the description of this video. Thank you to Scribd for sponsoring this video.
Ok, so let's start with the fact that humans are tribal.
This is evolutionary. Our ancient ancestors formed groups based on trust and cooperation.
Humans are and always have been social animals, who are quick to see the benefit of forming groups and will go to great lengths to keep the group together.
The longer we stay in groups, the more likely we are to have common goals and, more importantly, common morals.
Here's a little disclaimer- I probably should point out that I am also a human before we move forward with this video.
So yeah, we humans are held together by these things called morals, or the beliefs and standards about how humans should behave.
Morals hold us together but also makes us fear and hate other groups.
And, we get pretty offended when individuals in our group want to leave and join another group.
Humans have been around a couple hundred thousand years, and today we may think we are individuals, but we are still heavily dependent on groups.
Some groups we have a much deeper sense of membership of.
For example, we are usually pretty loyal to our families, or our religious group.
However, we are usually not so deeply tied to our coworkers or classmates, for example.
We have emotional connections to the groups we are loyal to.
It really doesn't matter what type of group it is. We can go all-in for any group, no matter how big or small, or no matter how nefarious it may be.
Speaking of which, I've been meaning to start a cult. I'll let you know when the Facebook page is finished.
Once we are all-in, there is often no going back. The group becomes our identity, and our status in society becomes directly tied to the group.
So why do we so often go all-in for political ideologies?
Because politics is directly related to morals.
Again, morals are the beliefs and standards about how humans should behave.
Politics is about what the people in power do, and what they do directly affects the rest of society.
Because we think our group is moral, then of course we passionately defend it and attack other groups.
But here's a great quote. "Too often, we judge other groups by their worst examples - while judging ourselves by our best intentions."
That quote was by someone who made my Worst Presidents video. George W. Bush.
But it's true. We tend to think we are more virtuous than others.
We get so upset over politics because when someone criticizes are political beliefs, just like when they attack our religious beliefs, we perceive it as an attack on our identity.
Look, at least politics is an important thing to get upset about. I mean, we get upset about petty things, like sports teams.
I'm a Chiefs fan, and I used to passionately hate Raiders fans when I was younger, just because I was, you know, a fan of a group of these guys who tackle each other and fight over a small piece of leather and I didn't want those other group of guys wearing the black and silver to get that piece of leather.
Ok, let's be real here. I still hate the Raiders. But I digress.
In general, the more passionate we are about political ideologies, the less we know about issues.
It might mean that we know a lot about one side, but even that's a stretch.
In reality, the more context and knowledge we have about both sides of the issues that divide us, the less emotional in general we are about politics.
So how should we solve this problem of getting so worked up about politics when meeting up with families over the holidays?
By the way, families get so upset because if one family member has different political opinions, it's like they left the tribe.
Well you could always "don't you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever talk politics with your family."
Or, if politics does come up, you could try to stop talking about political parties or politicians.
You could just talk about ideas and policies. You know, the boring stuff.
I know if I find myself getting really worked up about a political issue, that's when I need to shut up and learn more about the other side.
I find the more I learn, the less I know anyway. So yeah, so, in conclusion, I don't have anything figured out.
So what are your theories for why we get so upset talking about politics?
I've linked some great articles and studies below. There's actually a lot of research looking into it.
I'm taking next week off, but after that will be the glorious return of my Compared series. Thank you so much for watching.
