But why is this model so compelling nowadays?

To understand why, we need to look at some history.

The first wave of the trend that brought us towards cloud computing

was colocation which IT shops have been doing for decades.

Instead of building costly capital intensive data centers,

they can rent space in shared facilities.

That frees up capital for more flexible uses than real estate.

In the first decade of the 2000s,

IT departments need for efficiency drove them to use virtualization.

The components of a virtualized data center match the parts of a physical data center;

servers, disks and so on.

But now there are virtual devices separately manageable from the underlying hardware.

Virtualization lets us all use resources more efficiently and just like colocation,

it lets us be more flexible too.

With virtualization you still buy houses and maintain the infrastructure.

So, you're still in the business of guessing how much hardware

you'll need and when setting it up and keeping it running.

About 10 years ago, Google realized that its business couldn't move

fast enough within the confines of the virtualization model.

So, Google switched to a container based architecture on

automated elastic Third Wave cloud built from automated services.

We'll explain exactly what containers are later in this course.

In Google's internal cloud,

services automatically prevision and configure

the infrastructure that is used to run familiar Google applications.

Google has spent billions of dollars building

this platform and making it resilient and efficient.

Today, Google Cloud platform makes it available to Google customers.

The Charlotte Mason Elementary Arithmetic Series, Book 2 Is Here! - Duration: 5:02.

Math book 2 is here!

I'm Sonya Shafer with Simply Charlotte Mason.

Today we are excited to announce that The Charlotte Mason Elementary Arithmetic, Book

2, is now available!

You are sure to enjoy these simple, lively lessons that will help your student gain a

firm footing in addition, subtraction, and multiplication up to 1,000.

He will solidify and learn the addition tables up to 10 + 10 and the multiplication tables

up to 6 x 10.

And that learning will not just be rote memory and recitation.

He will memorize the math facts, yes, but first he will personally discover how the

addition tables and multiplication tables work.

Subtraction and division are included along with the addition and multiplication tables,

presented as complementary operations.

So your student will develop a solid grasp of the subtraction and division facts as well.

Book 2 also introduces addition and subtraction with larger numbers, including carrying and

borrowing, up to 1,000.

The step-by-step, interactive lessons will encourage your child to work confidently with

three digit numbers, as well as with money.

You will find interesting review questions tucked regularly into the lessons, plus there

is an entire section—50 more pages— containing

hundreds of extra review questions in the back of the book.

That bonus section will make sure you always have plenty of engaging and interactive review

questions on hand no matter where your child is in the lessons.

Three end-of-term exams are included that you can use to record your student's progress

through mastering the addition and multiplication tables, as well as working with three-digit

numbers.

As usual, no specialized manipulatives are needed.

The lessons use the same everyday objects that were recommended in Book 1: buttons,

beads, coins—things you can find around the house.

Book 2 gives extensive work with money, so you will want to have a good supply of coins

and one-dollar bills.

You can use real dollar bills or play money.

Those manipulatives are so important to make sure your student sees the math concepts in

the concrete first and has a firm understanding of them before he moves to pure number.

An optional kit is available for Book 2 that includes plenty of play dollar bills as well

as two decks of number sentence cards, a felt underlay for building the tables, and a gridded

dry erase board (called a "slate" in the lessons) with a dry erase marker.

Number Sentence Cards are a brilliant idea for a homeschool mom!

Each card contains a handful of equations, either focused on one addition or multiplication

table or offering a combination of equations from several different tables.

Before you begin the arithmetic lesson, grab a card or two to have on hand.

Then if you need to step away for a few minutes—to change a diaper or to help another child with

a question—simply hand your math student those cards.

He will be able to continue the math lessons smoothly on his own until you get back by

working those equations—using the manipulatives if he needs to—and writing the answers on

his slate.

Genius!

The kit for Book 2 contains Number Sentence Cards for all of the addition and multiplication

tables that are covered in the book.

The Number Sentence Cards are also sold separately.

The Charlotte Mason Elementary Arithmetic Series, Book 2, along with its corresponding

kit and Number Sentence Card decks, are available at special pricing for just a couple of weeks.

Download the free sample and take a look at this fabulous resource.

Book 2 is a beautiful addition to The Charlotte Mason Elementary Arithmetic Series and an

exciting way to strengthen your relationship with your child as you continue to climb together

in the mountainous land of mathematics, just as Charlotte Mason described it.

And with lessons like these, you can be sure that every step taken will be on firm ground.

ZickZack durch Armenien | #14 Towards Asia - Duration: 10:41.

It seems that every bigger street is going to Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. That's how we got there as well.

We are exactly the same speed as this one guy here. -"It are the small things in life, that make you happy."

On our way back Ok?

Why not now?

Ok, now.

An artificial reservoir?

Maybe it's not filled at the moment?

Or they are still building it?

It could be anything.

The car is coming. And my Syncro Travels Crew.

If I get rid of the ladder now, you are stuck here forever, aren't you?

You should take a video from here. - Yes, in a second.

Armenia has an amazing history.

Today there are still countless monuments, churches, stone ornaments, and so much more.

They are 100's, sometimes even 1000's of years old.

An historian could probably spend his whole life in this country, without ever getting bored.

We will not show you any of this in our videos.

We are sorry, we are cultural philistines.

But we would love to show you the beautiful landscape of Armenia.

Yes, that's right Luke. Someone has to be on watch while Steffen and I sit around, doing nothing.

Luke was bitten the next day by a pack of wild dogs.

It didn't look to bad, but we weren't sure if there was internal bleeding.

That's why we drove back to Yerevan, over 2 hours drive. Because there was the only vet for dogs in Armenia.

The vet couldn't see from the outside if there was internal bleeding.

That's why he had to operate.

After the operation we leaned, that everything was Ok.

But it's still scary.

And we can be grateful that nothing worse happened.

We had to give Luke Antibiotics after the operation.

Steffen know quite a lot about medicine and he can handle it well.

So we could give Luke the Antibiotics along the way.

Well done Luke.

Why Luke?

Well done Steffen! Great!

Only 2 left.

Finished! We are finished.

Well done.

Come here.

My Houzz: Deshaun Watson's Surprise Renovation - Duration: 23:04.

- [Deshaun] What makes a home to me is the energy.

I'm a big energy person.

Where I can relax,

just feel free and not have to worry about anything.

I'm Deshaun Watson and this is My Houzz.

I was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia.

I grew up with pretty much nothing.

In the hood, the ghetto,

whatever you wanna call it.

It was maybe a two bedroom,

a government apartment with seven people in there.

So there wasn't too much space.

My mom had raised four kids as a single parent mom,

havin' help here and there but it was just tough.

Barely had lights

but my mom always made sure

we had food on the table and somewhere to sleep

but it wasn't nothing that she really dreamed of.

And then one day I went to a Halloween church function

and brought some candy home

and there was this card in there.

It was a Habitat card

and it was just saying,

hey, if you wanna register

for a house you have to fill out this information.

My mom had to do like, 200 hours of community service,

take classes, kids had to have been in school,

have good grades, she has to work,

her credit has to be good, and that's what my mom did.

She said, "I don't have nothin' to lose,"

so a year and a half later,

she was blessed to be able to get picked

for the Habitat for Humanity home.

It was just a fresh start for us

that built our own foundation

in a good environment, good neighborhood.

And it changed everyone's lives.

It made me motivated to fulfill my dreams.

It helped me get to where I am today.

I'm thankful for that.

Me and my mom's relationship is very close.

She is my rock, my hero.

She always was there and givin' 100%

each and every day to try be the best she can

to help her kids be successful.

Growin' up, she said I could be whoever I wanna be

and if I put my mind to it and work for it.

I just dreamed big and she was always there to support me.

Then, once we got blessed with the home

that we're livin' in now,

she was diagnosed with tongue cancer.

She didn't know if she would be able to speak again,

be able to eat again, all types of things.

But she wanted to show her fight.

Now it's hard for her to be able to speak

and she never complained.

She never once was sayin' that she wanted to give up.

She's always been a fighter

and that really inspired me.

If she can get through that,

no type of adversity can hold me back

from what I wanna achieve.

I want to give back to my mom and renovate her house.

She deserves it from all the things

that she always dreamed about

and dreamed that she wanted in a home.

It's been a solid home for us

for, I wanna say, over 12 years now.

The living room, kitchen, and dining area,

those areas need a little touch-up,

but for my mom, I'm gonna do a little bit more

than just touch it up.

From everything that she went through,

this is really the smallest thing I can do for her,

because she deserves even more.

I'm a momma's boy, so, she can get whatever she wants.

I live in Texas.

My mother lives in Georgia.

So I turned to Houzz to do this renovation.

Houzz is a website and an app

where you can get everything for a renovation.

I looked up contractors in the Gainesville area

and found Infinite Home.

I went and looked at their profiles

and they had great reviews.

I had a quick call with Laurel and David

and I decided to meet them in person.

(upbeat music)

- Thanks for having us.

- [Deshaun] No problem, I appreciate y'all comin' down.

- Can you tell us about your mom?

- Yeah, my mom, she's a single parent mom, four kids.

She loves to read, listen to music, watchin' TV.

If I think that bein' able to do somethin' for her,

it'd be nice.

- Tell me about when the family gathers.

How are you using the kitchen and the living area space?

- Everyone just kinda gathers on the couch

or sits on the kitchen counter.

Not on the counter, but

(Laurel laughs)

the chairs next to it.

- Wherever. (laughs)

- I feel like as we've gotten a lot older

and bigger, the space has gotten smaller.

- Yeah.

- Do you have any ideas of what direction

we wanna go with this?

- What I observed when we saw your home

was we walked through the front door

and you have that great living area

that we can reconfigure a bit.

- I feel like that extra sofa

when you walk into the house

is kind of blocking up the view

between the kitchen and the living room.

- What I'd like to do is take that sofa away

and make the living room and kitchen

feel so much more spacious.

And then I'd like to talk about the kitchen

and expanding that island

just to give you some more seating.

- Whenever I come up to the counter,

my knees are like, hittin' the wall,

and I have to turn sideways

just to be able to have room to eat.

- What do you think if we gave it an overhang

for the bar stools to sit at,

make it a little bitter, a little longer.

- Would be perfect.

- I put together a Houzz ideabook.

An ideabook is the place where I can collaborate

with our clients, share photos,

and actually buy the product.

I'd love to hear your thoughts as well.

- Alright, that sounds good to me.

- This is a good representation

of the colors that we're thinking of.

- Right.

She's more...

Nothing, pretty much, white.

She's more of a darker feel.

- Gotcha.

- I like the opening area, though.

Both of 'em are real open

and we can easily get around and maneuver.

- So I think I wanna put a fireplace in the living room.

- That's somethin' that she always wanted,

but never had the opportunity to do it.

- And I found this photo.

- [Deshaun] Do you have to build a chimney?

- [David] No, actually, it's an electric fireplace

on the Houzz shop that we can put the TV right over it,

flip a switch, turn it on, enjoy it, still puts out heat.

- Sounds good to me.

- [Laurel] So, we like this fireplace.

Let's just go ahead and add it to our cart.

- [Deshaun] Let's buy it!

Honestly, if that's the only thing

that y'all put in the house,

she'd be totally fine with it.

(laughs)

- Okay, good.

- One of the ideas she always wanted

was to make it all hardwood.

- [David] I'd like to extend the same hardwood

throughout the entire space.

- She'll walk in and she'll really like that part.

- I added this to show you an idea

that we had to do a contrasting color on the cabinets.

- I think that'd be the idea that we kinda shoot for.

Yeah, for the cabinets, the tops now are like a foot

from the ceiling, so if we can get those longer

and get it closer to the ceiling.

- That'll look nicer

and give her some more storage space as well.

- [Deshaun] Exactly.

- [Laurel] This shows more in line with the island color

that we're thinking.

- I'm not really a big fan on the stools.

- Well, let's go have a look.

What do you think about these stools?

- I really like those.

Let's buy it.

- [Laurel] Okay.

- [Deshaun] I think another thing

that she would really love is moving the microwave

that sit on the counter

and gettin' one of those

that are sittin' at the bottom of a drawer

where you can, like, open up.

I think she would really find that pretty cool.

- We can put one right in the island

and that'll free up a lot of counter space

for her as well.

- Exactly.

- Over the island, I'd like to add some lighting.

- [Deshaun] I think the pendants

would bring a nice touch to it,

especially now with the counter we have,

we just have maybe one or two lights

that kinda lighten up the whole kitchen.

- Okay.

- [Deshaun] But if you bring that,

we can really brighten it up.

- If we like these, Houzz has this really neat feature

called Visual Match,

so we can click on this little light tag

and it'll give us these other options here.

Yep, that's gonna look really nice.

Let's say, three of these,

and let's add to our cart.

- So, what are the ideas for the table?

- I found a table I really liked

and I think would fit the space well.

Also, I'm thinking it would be nice

to put a big piece of art on that wall

in the dining room just to anchor the space.

I found this one.

- How big is it?

- It's 54 by 54.

- Wow.

Now, I really like the idea,

but I'll have to just probably see it with my own eyes.

- Okay, great.

- I appreciate you guys comin' down

and bein' able to sit down and talk with me

and kind of go over the idea of what we're thinkin'.

I'm not gonna be there,

but I'm gonna make sure my Auntie Sonia is there.

She's like, the other half of my mom.

- [Laurel] I can't wait to meet her.

- Yeah.

- Thank you for trusting us with your mom's house.

- [Deshaun] No problem, appreciate y'all.

- [David] We'll take good care of her.

- Thank you.

(upbeat country music)

- Hi, you must be Auntie Sonia.

I'm David.

- Nice to meet you, David.

- Good to meet you.

- Hi Auntie Sonia, Laurel.

- Nice to meet you, Laurel.

Y'all come on in.

- Thank you.

- [Laurel] Deshaun told us all about you.

- What he say about me?

(laughs)

- Only nice things.

(laughs)

- [David] Very good things.

- [Laurel] David and I are really excited

to be working with you on this project.

- Well, first of all, I'm gonna say that

Deann is, you know, they homebodies.

- [Laurel] You can tell just how important family is.

- She love her photos.

- And memories. Okay.

- I'm gonna tell you now.

- [Laurel] Well, we're gonna try and find a solution

so that we can display all these.

- [Sonia] It's really important to her.

If y'all don't get them photos in there,

she will be disappointed.

Because the photos makes her house warm

and a happy home.

She just loves her family.

- [Laurel] I love that.

Auntie Sonia made it very clear

that family photos are a big part of this design,

so I'm gonna make sure to keep the family

in this family room.

One of the things I really like about this room

is that there are so many windows.

I'd like to take this TV and move it

above the fireplace that we're gonna put right here.

- Make that happen for her.

- Ooh, it's gonna be good!

I tell you the truth.

(laughs)

Sometimes we gather in here.

- Okay, so about how many people

at any given time?

- Well, about twenty.

- [Laurel] Okay, wow.

So it's a really loved area.

- Yeah, it is.

- [David And Laurel] Okay.

- [Laurel] One of the design changes

in the kitchen is take out this pantry here.

The biggest thing it does for her

is it connects the two rooms together

instead of kind of visually blocking

the spaces from each other.

And don't worry, she can still have a pantry.

It'll be part of the cabinetry.

- Is the cabinets gonna still be over here?

- Yes.

- [David] Around your new refrigerator,

we're going to actually build cabinetry

that it pushes into to give it a built-in look.

- Ooooh, she gonna love that!

She gonna love that.

- It's really fancy.

- Yeah, she gonna love that.

Well, what about this island?

It's gonna be big?

- [David] You don't like the kitchen island?

I think it's...

- [Sonia] Well, you know.

It's alright.

- You can sit at it, you can entertain here.

I sat down at the kitchen island

and my knees hit the cabinet.

It's just not gonna work.

We're gonna get her a much bigger island.

(laughs)

- It's gonna be goo-ooood, good.

What are y'all gonna do about the dining room?

- [David] We're pushing the table back this way,

'cause your island's comin' out more.

- [Sonia] But this light.

- [David] Gonna hang it right from where it was.

- From its original location.

- But will it be over the table?

- [David] It will.

It'll be right over the table.

- Oh okay.

That's gonna be good.

You know me and her talks a lot.

She really had wanted that room hardwood.

Y'all gonna give her hardwood in there?

- [David] We are, we have hardwoods in the living room.

- Ooh!

Let me tell ya'll somethin',

let me tell y'all.

She gonna love that hardwood.

Is that gonna be the same?

- It'll all be the same.

- It ain't gonna be mismatched--

- No, no mismatch.

- That gonna be awesome.

- Alright, well if we're all set on the designs,

I think we're ready to start demo tomorrow.

Are you ready to be here for that?

- What I'm gonna be doin'?

- You're gonna smash out this kitchen island behind me,

how 'bout that?

- Ooh, I'm gonna have a sledgehammer in my hand?

- [David] Absolutely!

- You know, I ain't never done nothin' like that before,

so I'm gonna be able to hit somethin'?

- Absolutely.

- I'm gonna be able to crush?

- [David] Yes.

- [Laurel] Yep.

- Ooh!

- Well, we're so excited to get started tomorrow

and lookin' forward to seein' you here again

in the morning.

- [Laurel] I've loved working with you, Auntie Sonia.

- Thank you so much!

(upbeat music)

(drill sounds)

(loud thump)

- Hey!

- Hi, Sonia.

- Hey, how are you?

- We're just finishin' up preppin' the kitchen for demo.

- Sure is a lot of space in here, now.

- We're about ready to start on cabinets.

- Y'all said that I'm gonna start breakin' stuff today.

I sure hoped it!

I wanna get in and see what I got to break.

- Let's put your goggles on first, though.

- Okay.

- Safety first.

- I'm gonna do this.

- [David] Choose which one you want.

- Let me try to choose.

This one.

- [David] Alright.

- You think I can do it?

- [David] I think you can do it.

I know you can do it.

So get ready to take a swing on three.

One...

Two...

Three!

(smash)

(screams)

(laughs)

(cheers)

- I'm goin' again!

(laughs)

Ooh, this kinda fun.

Whoo!

- Ow!

- I'm doing one more for the road,

one more for the road.

Give it a go!

- [David] There we go.

Nice.

(laughs)

Nice!

- Y'all want me to do the rest of that kitchen?

I'll do it!

- I know you can handle it,

but I think we're gonna bring in the crew now

and let them get to work.

(banging sounds)

(upbeat music)

(hammering)

(dramatic music)

- [David] Oh, is that glued down?

Didn't see that one comin'.

Oh, there you go.

In my experience, some areas will come up real easy

and then the high traffic areas

it'll really be stuck.

(hammering sounds)

- [Man] Is everybody's back broken?

'Cause stop what you're doing.

(buzzing sounds)

(upbeat music)

(record scratching)

(birds whistling)

(upbeat banjo music)

- [Deshaun] It's been a couple weeks

and we're halfway there.

Cabinets have gone in,

the new island has been placed,

and the fireplace is almost done.

I can't wait to see what Auntie Sonia thinks.

- [Laurel And David] Hey, Sonia.

- Ooh!

Hey, y'all!

This place look good!

I love this fireplace.

Ooh, that island is so big!

That's beautiful.

- [Laurel] Yes.

- [Sonia] Now this is the counter?

- This is the counter.

- [David] That is the countertop, yep.

- Ooh.

This is gonna be prett-ay!

What color is that, Laurel?

- [Laurel] Well, it pulls in the browns and grays.

- Oh, okay!

- [Laurel] I think she'll like this

because of the dark veining.

- I love this kitchen already.

- [Laurel] Let's walk over to the dining room.

One of the things that I wanted to do

is put a piece of art on this wall.

There's a great tool on the Houzz app

called View in My Room 3D,

so we'll be able to digitally place the art

on the wall using the Houzz app.

- Great!

- [Laurel] You wanna see it?

- I wanna see it.

- Alright, let's have a look.

So we're gonna go to our ideabook,

scroll down to find our piece of art,

there's this little button, View in My Room 3D,

I'm gonna tap that,

and it wants me to scan the floor

and then place my device against the wall,

well done.

Take a step back.

- [Sonia] Wow!

That's gonna be beautiful!

I love them colors.

- So let's take a photo of it,

we'll save it to our ideabook

and send it to Deshaun.

- Okay.

- And see what he thinks.

(phone rings)

- [Laurel] Hi, Deshaun!

- Whassup?

How y'all doin'?

- Hi Deshaun!

- Sup Auntie?

- [Laurel] Deshaun, now that you've seen the artwork,

what do you think about it?

- She's gonna love that.

- [Laurel] Great.

- [Deshaun] I think it'll fit well in that space.

- [Laurel] I've got so much to show you.

You ready?

- Alright, let's do it.

- [Laurel] Alright.

So, this is your mom's new fireplace

with a TV above it.

- [Deshaun] Man, that's dope.

That's gonna be a big TV.

- Yeah.

(laughs)

- [Laurel] By making that the focal point,

it really opens up the flow between these two rooms,

'cause, you remember, there used to be a couch here

and it was blocking our view.

Now we have this gorgeous kitchen to look at.

- I like the different colors,

the color we chose for the cabinets.

And the island color, makes it pop.

It's a lot of space for her to move around.

- I bet she gonna love it.

- Course, you, Auntie, might want that.

- What you tryin' to say, if Auntie cook?

(laughs)

- [Laurel] You remember your old pantry.

- [Deshaun] Yeah, I do.

- We redid it.

Have a look.

- [Deshaun] So those are like pull-outs?

- [Laurel] They are, mm-hmm.

- Nice.

- [Laurel] All four of those shelves pull out.

- That's gonna be a lot of space.

A lot of stuff that--

my mom throws stuff in there for sure.

- What you think she gonna have in there?

Potato chips, or...

- Straight snacks.

You already know how we is.

(laughs)

I gotta head out,

I'm on a plane right now about to take off.

Thank you guys.

It looks amazing.

- Bye, Deshaun!

- I really think Deshaun liked everything

that we did in the house.

And Deann is gonna love this place.

(upbeat music)

- [Deshaun] Today I'm back in Gainesville.

And I'm very excited to finish up the house.

- [Sonia] This looks good!

Ooh, that's so cute over there!

(Laurel laughs)

Ooh, that's gonna be her spot!

- [Laurel] We have some things to do.

Let's get to work.

- [Sonia] Girl, you know what.

I'm decoratin' now.

- [Laurel] You are.

It's comin' together.

(upbeat music)

- Hoo-hoo!

- Hey!

- Whassup, Auntie?

- [Sonia] How you doin'?

- Good, how you doin'?

- Doin' great!

- [Deshaun] Hoo, fireplace.

She gonna love this.

I hadn't realized we have that much space.

Crazy.

Couldn't even imagine that it could look like this.

Nice.

- [Laurel] Sonia and I have a couple of things

for you to help us with.

- [Deshaun] Alright.

- [Sonia] Come on!

I'm good at settin' a table or two.

- [Laurel] Oh!

That's great.

- These are the pendants that we picked on Houzz, right?

- They are.

- Nice.

They really brighten up the kitchen.

(upbeat music)

- I think a little bit to the left.

- [Deshaun] To the left?

- [Sonia] I think that's it.

That look beautiful, it's pretty.

- [Laurel] Alright!

- [Deshaun] That good?

- [Laurel] Grab this one.

We're just gonna kinda slide 'em over.

- [Deshaun] I think it looks good.

- [Laurel] That's it!

It's all together!

- I am fixin' to go pick up Deann!

See y'all!

- Thank you so much.

She gonna love it.

I'm very excited and that everything turned out

how we wanted it.

I think it's gonna mean a lot to her.

It means a lot to me.

(slow guitar music)

- I know you gonna be happy

and I just hope that all of us...

Hope we was able to give you what you want.

- [Deshaun] Hey.

I hope you like everything.

I wanted to surprise you.

Everything you've done since I was a little kid,

bein' a single parent, you deserve all this

and you should have the best.

[Deann] Thank you. Thank you.

- You ready?

Let's go.

You got your eyes closed?

You can peek a little bit.

One step.

Yeah, you got it.

Can you close it, Auntie?

Alright.

One...

Two...

three.

- Ooh!

- [Sonia] Oh, look at it, girl.

- [Deshaun] And the TV in the wall.

- [Deshaun] We flipped the couch around

to kind of open this area up

to have more room to walk.

All the pictures.

Got Junior.

- [Deshaun] The island we made it a lot bigger.

If I could fit underneath it,

you know everybody else can fit underneath it.

- [Sonia] You like this, don't you?

- [Sonia] Mmm-hmm.

- [Sonia] Look at your pantry, Deann.

Remember how this was?

When it was just a little small pantry.

- [Sonia] Mm-hmm, slide it out, girl.

- [Deshaun] What you think about the floors?

It was carpet before that cuts off the kitchen,

but I knew you always wanted the floor just wood.

- [Sonia] She love it.

Remember your microwave was on the counter?

(clapping and laughing)

Oh look at it, girl, now.

Let me show you how it work.

Watch this.

See where it say open?

- [Sonia] And you close it.

But don't that give you a lot of space on your counter?

- [Deshaun] These pendants right here.

I picked this out.

- I did.

- [Deshaun] New kitchen table.

- [Sonia] I love them colors.

- [Sonia] Beautiful.

- [Sonia] Oh, you like the silverware?

- [Deshaun] This painting,

of course we had just a blank space before.

And so it makes it pop more.

- [Deshaun] Thank you.

- I could just see it in her eyes.

She's very moved.

- [Deshaun] Everything that she saw,

she loved it, so it was good.

Of course, I would like to take all the credit,

but behind, really, it was the master team

and a couple of people who really helped me out

and do most of the work.

They actually here.

I'm gonna go grab 'em.

Mom, this is Laurel and David.

- [Laurel And David] Hello!

- So nice to meet you.

The smile on her face just said it all.

- [Woman] Hey!

How you doin'?

Oh my god!

I love it!

- [Sonia] How you doin'?

I know she's happy and she loves this

and she excited and overwhelming.

- I love this house.

- [Sonia] And this makes me feel great with joy.

(pops)

(cheers)

- Love you, mama.

Love the whole family.

Appreciate y'all for helpin' out.

Y'all a part of the family now.

Toasts up!

- [Sonia] Deshaun gave her this gift.

- That's smooth right there.

(laughs)

- I'm not just sayin' this because he's my nephew.

- Good, ain't it?

- But he's a real good person.

- The smackin'.

(laughs)

- Bein' a son and bein' able to take care of your mom

and help her out.

I feel good.

I love you, mom.

You deserved it all.

And enjoy it.

RTX 2080 Laptops Are Here 🔥 - Duration: 8:25.

- Hey guys, this is Austin.

We've had those sweet, sweet RTX

graphics in desktops for a little while now.

However, today is the day that it is finally time

for all of this power to come down

to the laptop side of things.

To test, we have the brand new ROG Zephyrus S 17 inch.

Now, we actually took a brief at this laptop at CES.

However, at that time, Nvidia had

the performance testing side of things locked down.

But with this in our hands, it's time to see

exactly what we can get out of RTX for laptops.

Here, we've got the top end RTX 2080,

paired with a Core i7-8750H.

Now, the main cutback going from the full desktop GPU

to the laptop Max-Q edition is in TDP.

Instead of having over 200 watts to work with,

this has to fit in a 100 watt budget,

which basically just means the clock speed comes down.

Desktop was about 1700 megahertz,

this is a little bit over 1200 as far as boost clocks go.

Take a look at the benchmarks, though,

and it is not a massive improvement,

but you will see a pretty good performance bump

over the previous generation, GTX 1080,

and especially that Max-Q implementation.

Now, benchmarks are one thing.

But what I want to know is what will it take

to get this RTX 2080 running at a full 1080p

at 144 frames per second, which is what this screen can do.

Now, starting off with, let's see

what we can do with Overwatch.

Well, three seconds into Overwatch,

it looks like this is no problem.

We're completely maxed out on ultra settings, the 1080p.

And right now, we're about 160 frames per second.

I gotta say, Overwatch looks like

a solid thumbs up on this front.

Next up, we have everyone's favorite game, Fortnite.

So this, I think should be pretty easy

for the 2080 to handle.

Even on full epic settings, I don't think it'll be an issue.

Fortnite is another game that is no problem to run,

although we're a little bit closer here,

at about what, 100, I don't know, 120?

So especially paired with that G-Sync panel,

144 frames per second is no problem in Fortnite,

so now let's move on to Black Ops.

So when it comes to Black Ops,

I'm not super sure that we're actually going to be able

to max it out fully and still hit 144 frames,

but let's give it a try, I guess.

I will mention that I am running this

on the balanced power mode,

so you can crank the fan up to turbo,

but in my testing, it only gives you

another couple percentage or so of performance,

but it's like twice as loud, so I'm not gonna do that.

Okay, yeah, immediately I can tell

that we're at 100 frames per second,

which is good, and to be fair, we do have a G-Sync panel,

which means that it's nice and smooth,

but a 90, 100 frames per second,

that's not what we're looking for.

So all you needed to do is crank things down to high

and we're pretty much locked at 140 fps.

Next, let's see how Battlefield 5 fares.

We are in the game, this is not 144 frames.

This is about 50 frames.

So the thing with Battlefield that's going to be difficult

is it does support ray tracing.

And it is one of the very few games

that does support ray tracing right now,

but it is incredibly demanding,

especially on the ultra setting.

Okay, so turning ray tracing down to low

gave us a big boost in frames.

We're now up to about 90, which on this G-Sync panel,

honestly, really is not a problem.

I would be totally happy to play the game like this.

Damn, like look at the, look at the reflection.

Dude, every time I see a car, I have to go and like,

oh, I should probably not do that.

So this is a playable game, absolutely,

but I want 144 frames per second,

which means it's time to start cranking that thing down.

Now that's more like it, we're about

130, 140 frames per second right now.

I did have to turn off ray tracing

and then set everything down to medium, but I mean,

we do have a very, very playable, 140 frames per second.

I mean to be fair, medium looks totally fine

and that 144 frames per second is a big deal.

But if it's me, I'm going to turn the ray tracing on

and give up a few frames per second

to get that extra little bit of visual.

Now gaming is great, but this also

is great for content creation.

So Wes, how does it handle Resolve,

and specifically RED stuff?

- So what we have playing here

is 7 and 8K RED footage playing down at quarter res.

But as you can see, with a color grade on there,

and a few nodes, doing kind of a punchier grade.

It is playing back in real time, which is something that

Resolve would struggle with on lower end spec.

- This makes a lot of sense as a laptop

to use for content creation then, right?

Because you got something that's fairly thin,

you do have the Pantone color calibrated display,

which realistically, eh.

- Well, so, so look.

Coming out of the factory, it'll be pretty good.

It's going to shift over the first

few hours, honestly, of use.

But by having a good display, that means that

if you are someone that wants to calibrate in the future,

you can be fairly comfortable that you are going to be able

to get a fairly good calibration out of it.

- Next, let's talk about this actual laptop itself,

the Zephyrus S, which there's actually

a lot more to talk about than purely just the graphic side.

This shares a lot of DNA with the original Zephyrus.

When it's closed, it's only 18 mil thick.

When you open it up, the entire deck lid raises

to give more cooling from the bottom.

There's also a very unusual placement

for the keyboard and trackpad.

So it's all put on the bottom half of the laptop,

which means that this top half is entirely dedicated

to cooling that CPU and especially the GPU.

Now, these does take a little bit of getting used to,

but it's really not so bad.

Now, the same thing goes with the touchpad.

While it's a little bit smaller than usual,

most importantly it has a solid surface,

and you do have the option of turning it into a number pad.

And some of the best sounding click buttons

I have ever tried on a trackpad.

All of this means that this is among

the smallest 17 inch gaming laptops that you can buy.

That being said though, it is still a 17 inch gaming laptop.

Sure, it's a little bit closer to something like

that 15 inch Zephyrus that came out last year.

But realistically, there's no getting around

that this is a very, very big footprint for a laptop.

I'll give them this though.

At only six pounds, it is way lighter than you would expect,

considering that there is that full 2080 inside,

but don't exactly expect to you know,

fit this in your backpack easily.

The display itself is exactly what you would expect

out of a high-end gaming laptop.

It's a 17.3 inch panel, with a 1080p resolution,

but importantly, not only does it run at a full 144 hertz,

but it also supports G-Sync.

You also have Nvidia Optimus onboard.

Usually, you have to pick one or the other.

G-Sync is for keeping those frame rates nice and smooth

and to keep any kind of tearing out,

whereas Optimus allows you to turn off that graphics card

when you're not using it to save battery life.

Now, in this, you do have to manually turn it on

as well as restart the laptop

when you're switching between the two.

Most of the time, when you have a laptop with G-Sync,

it means that you're gonna get like an hour of battery life,

so thankfully that's not the case here with Optimus onboard.

Paired with a decently sized 76 watt hour battery,

I'd be able to get about three to three and a half hours

of normal use with the laptop.

Now that's not gaming, mind you, but this is actually

a laptop that you can do some other stuff with.

Not a lot of other stuff, but some other stuff.

You do have the added benefit of supporting USB-C charging.

Now, that's not enough to fully power the laptop.

It tops out at 65 watts, so it's a lot more

for kind of, charging it overnight,

or using it for lighter tasks, but importantly, this means

that if you want to take this on the go,

you don't have to always carry

the giant 200 watt power brick.

Instead, you can take a smaller one

or just plug into a USB-C monitor to top off.

Also, while we're talking about USB-C,

it does have a pair of USB-C ports,

but neither support Thunderbolt 3,

something that the previous Zephyrus did.

Not exactly like a deal breaker,

it's just kind of an odd decision.

Something interesting about this notebook

is the webcam, it doesn't have one.

That is where this comes in.

In the box, they do include an external webcam.

Now, there's a couple reasons for this.

First of all, they don't have a whole lot

of bezel to work with on the top.

But more importantly, this is

a higher quality webcam than usual.

Not only does it support 1080p,

but it also has a full 60 fps output.

And on top of that, they also have

a little stand that comes with it,

so if you want to do something like Twitch streaming,

you can set the webcam off to the side.

You know what, this actually does look

a lot better than most webcams, including on a laptop.

Now sure, it's not going to be quite as good as something

like a dedicated camera setup for Twitch streaming,

but considering that this comes in the box,

I've gotta say, really not a bad idea.

(music playing from laptop speakers)

- Hey, not bad.

So the audio's pretty impressive here.

Not only do you have a pair of speakers

that are firing directly at you, but on top of that,

there is this awesome little wheel to control the volume.

It's like what you would find

on a lot of mechanical keyboards, and I love it.

Like seriously, can everyone just adopt this?

Like, I want this on every laptop ever.

Now as you might imagine, all of this

doesn't exactly come cheap.

The Zephyrus S starts at $2700, and the model I have here

comes in at a full $3,200 and zero cents.

I don't know why I had to say zero cents,

but it just sounds more impressive that way.

With that RTX 2080 Max-Q inside,

you will not find another gaming laptop

that's this thin as well as this light,

while still giving you a full 17 inch display,

and importantly, this much performance.

Now whether it's worth the price tag is kind of up to you.

But I've gotta say, they did

a lot right with the Zephyrus S.

Here's the weird reason Jay Leno is thanked in the credits of Mary Poppins Returns - Duration: 1:26.

Photo: Tasos Katapodis (Getty Images) Moviegoers who stuck around through the end credits of Mary Poppins Returns may have noticed a certain retired late-night host's name inexplicably present in the "Special Thanks" section

Jay Leno doesn't appear in a single frame of the Disney film, as far as we know, yet the denim-clad Burbank resident still gets a shout out

What gives? On a recent episode of her podcast, comedian Julie Klausner pondered this very question, prompting a response from Poppins' star Lin-Manuel Miranda, who was able to provide her, and us, with an answer. Advertisement As it turns out, when the filmmakers were attempting to recreate the soot-speckled world of 1930s London, they found themselves in need of a period-specific car sound

So singular was this sound that it could apparently not be replicated or imitated (um, have they even heard of Michael Winslow?), so the producers reached out to Leno, one of the world's most prominent collectors of vintage cars, for a solution

Vulture even went so far as to field a guess on which of Leno's many vehicles was brought in for the film, settling on his 1931 8-liter Bentley Mulliner

Probably a safe bet. Send Great Job, Internet tips to gji@theonion.com

Increase Your Revenue By $100,000 This Year, Here is How..| by DYB Coach Ron Ramsden - Duration: 6:22.

Do you want to increase your yearly sales by $100,000?

This was a question I was just asked.

How do I increase my sales by $100,000?

What do I have to do?

The number sounds great, but what do I actually have to do?

So, we did a breakdown, this was a member of the DYB group, and it was so easy once

we had the numbers and once we had a plan in place.

I want to show you with roundabout numbers, how easy it is to attain that $100,000 if

you look at it in smaller pieces.

It's like how we say, how do you eat an elephant?

One bite at a time.

So, instead of just putting $100,000 extra amount of money that you want to gross this

year, let's make a plan on how to get that, it's amazing how easier it looks once it's

all broken down.

So, I put on this whiteboard here We are going to explain it as I go through, so you will

see in the green on the top, it's the $100,000, so I am going to get this straight so you

can actually see it.

So, the $100,000, what we have to know is a couple facts, not a lot.

We need an average job size, I rounded all these numbers so the math would be a little

easier, but you should know your average job size, if you don't know, you can look at your

gross sales last year, or last month, how many jobs were completed and divide it, that

would be your average job size.

So, on this example, we have a $4,000 a month average job size.

Like I said, I rounded this up so the math would be a little easier to show on the board

here.

So, $100,000 divided by the $4,000 is 25.

So, it's 25 jobs extra done this year will bring us to our $100,000 increase goal.

So we know right now, we know our $4,000, we know we need to do 25 more jobs.

Well, at least now, instead of just saying we want to make $100,000, we actually know

how many jobs we have to do.

So, now we have to figure out how we are going to get these 25 jobs.

So, the other very important number is your close ratio.

Your close ratio is, if you went on 10 estimates, how many of them would you land?

Some of us, depending on where the leads are coming from, where these phone calls are originating

from, is sometimes where they are going to come, if they are just finding you off your

Google page, they are finding you as a flier that was stuck in a mailbox, sometimes if

they are just finding you from your truck driving by, they don't know what kind of company

you are, they don't know what kind of work you do, so your close ratio might be lower

if you are actually closing these people, your pricing might scare them off.

But if you are working for us, we work with a lot of past customers, past customer referrals,

we actually screen our calls coming in, ask them questions before they are allowed to

book an appointment.

So, our close ratio is a little higher than 50%.

So, we know our average job size is $4,000, we know we need 25 extra jobs this year to

reach our additional $100,000 goal.

We know we have a 50% close ratio.

So, we know now that, because the close ratio is 50%, so if you times the 25, we need 50

additional leads coming through the door.

And at 50% close ratio, so we are going to close half the leads that come through the

door, so we need 50 leads, if we close half of those, that would reach our 25.

Depending on those, you can actually plug in your own numbers there, if you don't know

your close ratio, you should really take a look at that, you take a look at your average

job size.

So, we know we have 50 additional opportunities to bid on things, to increase our $100,000.

So, at first, we were looking at, we needed an extra $100,000, now we are breaking it

down, now we know we have to complete 25 jobs, and we need 50 leads, how are we going to

get those leads?

Networking, Facebook advertising, depending on how you are going to get it, but what a

great part is, is to increase that $100,000, you need to close less than 1 lead a week.

That is pretty cool, that is more or less 1 lead every 2 weeks.

Now we are going to work on the additional crew to take care of that additional work,

and if you want to increase this by $20s0,000, just double all of these.

Of course you are not going to double your close ratio, you are not going to double your

average job size, what you are going to do is you are going to double the amount of jobs

you need to close, and you are going to double the number of opportunities that you need

to bid on with your close ratio of 50%.

If you want to actually do less bidding, what you have to do is work on increasing your

close ratio.

I hope this little quick snapshot helped?

I'd love to be able to go over this with you, tailor it to your own.

So, if you would like to reach out to me, I am ron@dybcoach.com, it's late at night

when I put this up, I just thought of it right now.

You can also find me on Facebook, I'd love to chat with you, send me a message, comment

on this, if you would like to go over and see if we could figure out how to increase

your sales by $50,000 or $100,000 or maybe even close up your close ratio so it is a

little higher, I would love to talk to you.

I am Ron Ramsden, and I am a DYB coach, I am also a painting contractor up here in New

England, enjoy the day.

I help painters work on their business, so they don't have to work in their business,

have a great day, happy selling.

Careers at Generali Global Assistance - What's it like to work here? - Duration: 2:35.

I work for customer service department. I take inbound calls or people that want

to purchase travel insurance that inquiry or have questions about

travelling on a trip. When you work really hard and you really try to assist these

customers and try to help them out with whatever they need and they give

you a good feedback and then they you know send out emails giving us

compliments it makes you assure yourself that you know you're doing your job and

you're actually helping people. They have really good you know medical, dental, all

the good perks that you you know you're looking for in a job. It's right there

for you there are so many other places you can move up. For me I enjoy

customer service but they give us the opportunity if want to move to

claims or other departments in the company.

What I really enjoy here is

I get to work with all the latest and greatest technologies we're going to

this transformation. We are moving into a more agile company. We are

moving to cloud technologies with artificial intelligence so it's a great

time to join the company because now if you join you're gonna be a part of the

transformation. That's how you learn and grow. A good part about this company

is if you have interest in a certain field or technologies and if you express

that, you get an opportunity to work with those technologies. So there are a lot of

inter-department transfers. If you feel that you're better at something or

you want to try out something new you always get an opportunity to

work in that field.

Well, day to day the basics is we process claims. As they come in we talk

to our customers and if they need guidance with the claim we can certainly

help. My favorite part of the job I think is actually coming in to work I love

the people that I work with and the support that I get from everyone.

Everybody is so helpful here. One case that actually comes to mind is a couple that

was vacationing I believe it was like in Antigua or something that had a medical claim.

You know and she was just so shocked and surprised at how fast the claim was

processed and I think it just so happened in the time where they were in a great

deal of stress and just having that one positive thing happened just made the

world of a difference.

you

Sport TV - "Wish you were still here", "Come back" - Loads of Spurs fans clamour for journeyman's r - Duration: 2:15.

Crystal Palace knocked London neighbours Spurs out of the FA Cup on Sunday and, in doing so, progressed to the fifth round; the game could have been very different had the visitors not been hit with a string of injuries to a number of key players, but Spurs fans were more concerned with one of Palace's players rather than their own

Andros Townsend netted his seventh goal of the season in all competitions via the penalty spot and could have had a second but failed to fire either side of Paulo Gazzaniga, instead hitting the cutback straight at the Argentine

The Eagles winger has played for an incredible twelve English clubs, including Newcastle and Championship leaders Leeds, but seems to have found a home at Selhurst Park after spending much 0f his Spurs career out on loan and is currently enjoying what is surely his best season in the Prem

Naturally an energetic wide-man, the 27-year-old has been converted into an unorthodox striker this season by Roy Hodgson and is becoming quite good at arriving in the box – meanwhile, Spurs' Fernando Llorente struggled to get any breathing room and took just 38 touches in ninety minutes as he failed to threaten Palace's stand-in backline

After netting from the spot, Townsend's celebrations were muted, the reasoning for which was explained by the man himself on Twitter, leading to many Spurs fans applauding the number 10 for his class; others took it a step further by stating that they wish he was still in white

Arsenal's Hector Bellerin may be out for the season but it's given him a chance to show off his new accessory
