And people who are into high performance and shoot on nothing less than 60 frames per second

And today I wanted to share my opinion on the whole subject.

Ok, Its tricky, its a not a slam dunk in my humble opinion.

You know it feels like, With this video, I am bound to disappoint half the people watching

And I really don't wanna do that.

So Im going for the impossible.

Im gonna try to make everyone satisfied.

And I have to be honest at the same time.

Im starting to have second thoughts about releasing this video.

OK, Lets make a deal, I tell you my opinion and you promise not to hit that dislike button

no..

I cant do that That wouldn't be fair.

Ok.

here is the truth, my truth, and my opinion… nothing else

I do believe that 24FPS is the cinematic look.

and it just looks a lot better.

HAVING said so, I do have some thoughts about

why I actually say that way.

I think mostly because 99% of all cinema movies that I've ever seen

were shot in 24FPS, and TV and commercials and other types of videos

were released in 30 frames per second.

And so in my mind. I think that anything that doesnt look like 24fps is automatically worse film

In other words… if I'm to be completely honest

I believe.. that if we all grew up watching movies in 60FPS, and we suddenly

saw a movie in 24FPS, our minds would explode

I remember watching The hobbit trilogy a couple of years ago, in the cinema with a couple of friends. we were kind of split up about it.

we all kind of enjoyed the high frame rate, but at the same time it didn't feel cinematic.

24 FPS looks good because you have that nice motion blur, it sort of looks dreamy.

So, technically speaking 60FPS its more realistic. so 60FPS should be better.

So the answer is perhaps related to the content itself.

If you are watching a movie thats meant to be a escape from reality.

then yeah, maybe 24fps is the better option.

BUT if you are watching a review of a lens or a smartphone.

Then perhaps 60fps is better because it gives you a more realistic look on the whole thing

however there is of course a 3rd option.

If you love 24FPS, if thats your cup of tea, go for it, and dont let any haters tell you anything different

But if you want to be the 1% that wants to go for the different look, like 60FPS, just ignore the haters

and do your thing

I want to live in a world of options, choices and acceptance of other peoples

opinions.

I want to live in a world where we can all get along.. no matter what frame rate we prefer.

but I dont know, maybe its a huge tragedy

maybe only one of these framesrates is the one to go
