The Swedish royal family are celebrating a very important milestone on Friday, Prince Gabriel's first birthday

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have marked their youngest son's big day by releasing two adorable portraits

The one shared on the royal family's official website shows the tot sitting on his own whilst smiling at the camera

For the special photoshoot, the gorgeous blue-eyed boy wore a smart short-sleeved shirt, white shorts and Converse trainers

The royal couple posted a second snap on their personal Instagram. "Congratulations, Gabriel

Love you! For a year, you have spread joy to us and your big brother!" they captioned the post, which shows Gabriel showing off his two bottom teeth

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia's sixth grandchild will no doubt celebrate his day in style, most likely surrounded by all his cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as his parents and older sibling Prince Alexander, who is two years old

MORE: See which royal couple has made their private Instagram account public  Prince Alexander, two, has also had a very exciting week

On August 23 the royal undertook his first official engagement, inaugurating his christening gift from the Province of Södermanland

Alexander, who is styled as His Royal Highness Prince Alexander of Sweden, Duke of Södermanland, went to visit the Nynäs nature reserve, and took part in a walkabout to meet well-wishers

The little prince looked delighted to sit in a horse and carriage in between his doting parents, dressed in a striped shirt and chinos for the occasion

The Swedish royals have a tradition of carrying out engagements from a very young age

Alexander and Gabriel's cousins Princess Estelle, the six-year-old daughter of Crown Princess Victoria, and Princess Leonore, the four-year-old daughter of Princess Madeleine, both visited their duchies at the tender age of two

A Place Like Home for Family with XLA | The Children's Inn at NIH - Duration: 2:26.

We are here for our 14th year at The Children's Inn at NIH.

Our four boys are here with us. Three of our boys --

Holden, Harrison and Davis are part of a clinical study at NIH. We're really grateful that they get to be part of that study.

I'm Holden Green. I'm 15. I've been coming to The Children's Inn for 14 years, and

I have X-linked agammaglobulinemia, or XLA for short.

It's a primary immunodeficiency, which means their bodies' immune systems are only about half as effective as a

normal person's immune system. and there's a wonderful immunologist at NIH -- Dr. Gulbu Uzel --

who is following them as part of her study and

making sure they stay really healthy.

I'm here because I have a rare immune disease that I'm part of a clinical trial with NIH.

The Children's Inn really helps me be part of that trial because it's such a nice environment to stay in and there's a lot

of fun activities for teens, and there was a lot of fun activities when I was a lot younger.

The Children's Inn is just a wonderful engaging place

for the kids to be. There's an outdoor play space, a sports court and a game room.

Makes you feel like you're not at the hospital basically. It's really a nice place.

People are comfortable. People are welcoming. And,

because you're across the street from,

I think, the best medical center in the country

yet you get to cross that street and be completely removed from all the medical stuff.

It's the ability to have that rather than having

a week or two at the hospital that I think makes it for a lot of families to be able to

participate in these trials. I know it has for us.

The family time that we get to spend here together

really helps me feel comfortable. And, just seeing everybody yet having your own private room, but shared kitchens --

It makes it feel more of a community and less of a hotel. They really do everything to make it feel just like home

so that you feel really comfortable with all the medical needs the kids might have. We really want to thank

the donors who give to The Children's Inn, the donors who make NIH clinical trials possible.

Without their help, without their efforts

we would not have the quality of life that we have for our boys, that we dreamed of for our boys.

So we just can't express how grateful we are for that.

How to eat healthy when your family doesn't - Duration: 3:17.

It's very hard to eat and live in a certain way that you want when your family and friends just don't get it.

Hi, this is Komet R and today we're talking about eating healthy when your family doesn't

Research show that we are greatly influenced by our lifestyle, people and even their body composition around us

So, without further ado let's dive right in

Number 1 Feed them, don't force them

Feed your family with information on nutrition and health day by day,

just little by little, in the simplest way possible

so that it is digestible and easy for them to understand what you're heading towards

Feed them with correct information and knowledge

However don't try to shove every thing in a single day

also don't throw out all the cookies and chocolate and expect them to eat the vegetables in a day

That's unrealistic!

Number 2 is make healthy alternatives

So by this you have got the point

For example if you're family loves fried chicken why not bake them instead

and if your family loves store bought cookies and ice cream why not make them at home

Chances are that they are healthier than the store bought ones

There are tons of recipes on the internet, on youtube (also on my channel)

which are totally healthy for you and your family

Number 3 Check with yourself

This might sound confusing because you're the one who's making a good change in your lifestyle, right?

How could you be wrong?

It is very important to check with yourself if you're doing this for temporary purpose or a lifestyle changes

Check if you're being judgmental about the eating habits of your loved ones because no one likes being judged

neither do you!

As your loved ones feel less judged they also start judging you less on your healthy eating behaviour

Last but not the least make this about you

when your family really doesn't want to get on board with you

and you're just there sitting tired and alone

Don't get devastated. Find your own tribe, do whatever it takes to focus on you first

because it starts with you

Buy yourself some good stuff and make a little pantry of your own

when your family see you become so passionate and dedicated about this

they might even get inspiration from you and that might help them start their own journey

So there you have it!

Here are takeaways

Educate them about the good nutrition slowly but surely

Keep making healthy recipes of the food your family already enjoy

Don't be too judgmental about the whole situation

You probably were as confused as they were when you first started

Focus on you first

when you focus on yourself first and start seeing results, chances are that you're family will get encouraged

to start their own health journey

With this being said I'll see you again next week

goodbye, good luck, bisous, ciao, adios

Harry misses out on family summer tradition - and people think Meghan's to blame - Duration: 3:20.

A range of royals have headed north over the last few weeks - including Prince William and Kate Middleton - to visit The Queen and Prince Philip at Balmoral

And whilst there the group have indulged in the family's long standing tradition of grouse hunting - with images surfacing of Prince George going to watch his father take down the birds for the very first time

Many have shared their outrage at the youngster being taken to view the blood sport

But others were left wondering why Prince Harry was notably absent from the shoot - something he has been participating in from a similarly young age alongside his father and brother

According to the Daily Express , the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were at Balmoral over the Bank Holiday weekend

So why didn't they take part in the shoot?  Some are speculating that Harry's lack of participation could be down to Meghan Markle

At the end of 2017 the prince also backed out of his family's traditional Boxing Day hunt at Sandringham in Norfolk - something he's been doing since he was 12

A source close to the family told The Sun this was because he didn't want to upset Meghan

"Harry loves [hunting] and has always been out there on Boxing Day. But if it means breaking with long-standing royal traditions to avoid upsetting [Meghan], so be it

It's fair to say that there are some pretty stunned faces around here."  Meghan has always been a vocal animal lover and animal rights activist, having previously adopted two rescue dogs , refusing to wear fur or leather and choosing to follow a vegan diet

The pair are also rumoured to have recently adopted a Labrador .  Some people on Twitter are hopeful Meghan's love of animals may encourage other members of the family to abandon the cruel sport

Others have simply shared their disappointment at the family's long-standing tradition

One person posted: "I wish P rince Harry and Meghan every happiness, they're truly soul mates

Hope Meghan doesn't change when she goes to Balmoral and shoots, fish and hunt! That's the Royals killing grounds! Diana hated it, it's disappointing Harry, William and Kate shoot and hunt

"  Another said: "The Royal Family are happy to stand up for rhinos and other endangered, exotic species

If they really cared about wildlife they would ditch their ancient blood sport hobbies

"  A third added: "Why don't the Royal Family stop hunting and shooting? They help perpetuate this torture and abuse

"

Princess Diana said the Royal Family never wanted her to be Queen - this is why - Duration: 3:39.

Princess Diana captured the nation's hearts with her honesty, grace and the fact she genuinely seemed cared about others

In the infamous interview with Martin Bashir on the BBC's Panorama in 1995, the People's Princess explained to the world why she thought would never be Queen - and it was all to do with what the Royal Family's perception of her

When Bashir asked her "Do you think you will ever be Queen?", she quickly replied "no, I don't, no"

She added: "I'd like to be a queen of people's hearts, in people's hearts, but I don't see myself being Queen of this country

"I don't think many people will want me to be Queen."  She continued to say that by "people" she really means the establishment she married into and feels they decided that she was a "non-starter

"   When asked why this was the case, Diana went on to say that she believes her problems with the Royal Family were because "I do things differently" and doesn't go by a "rulebook" as she leads with her heart and not her head

She added that she thought she didn't have supporters in the Royal household for a bizarre reason: "They see me as a threat of some kind"

Diana said to Bashir that she feels every strong woman in history faces this reaction, because their strength inspires "confusion" and "fear"

The enlightening in-depth interview covered a lot of ground on some very important topics

This is what the Princess had to say on some of them. What Diana said about her marriage  At the time of the interview, Diana and Charles had been separated for nearly three years

The pair married in 1981 when she was just 19 years old.  She told Bashir that she may have felt daunted by the pressures of marrying into the family at the time, she still felt she had the support of her husband-to-be

She said that she "desperately wanted it to work" and "desperately loved my husband" but when Charles asked for a separation she accepted

This was the interview where she famously said of Camilla Parker-Bowles : "There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded"

What Diana said about mental health  In the BBC interview, Diana was very candid about her difficulties with her mental health - saying that she struggled with postnatal depression and bulimia which she described as a "secret disease"

She also admitted to having hurt herself in feeling the pressures of the limelight: "For instance you have so much pain inside yourself that you try and hurt yourself on the outside because you want help

"I was actually crying out because I wanted to get better in order to go forward and continue my duty and my role as wife, mother, Princess of Wales

"   The full BBC transcript of the interview can be read here .

I was lost and was afraid,

I believed all of they're lies

I believed that i was safe

and that I would never die.

Now I'm all alone

I've been hiding in the dark.

I just want to go home,

but my deeds send me too far.

All stay strong, we live eternally.

All is well in the Afton family.

Lives, they fell, to pure insanity.

All is hell in the Afton family.

All stay strong, we live eternally.

All is hell in the Afton family.

Lives, they fell, to pure insanity.

All is hell in the Afton family.

I never did go near,

cause I know just what I saw.

Then on a day of joy

my life ended to their flaws.

Now I'm all alone,

fighting monsters in the dark.

I wish that I could live,

but I fear I've gone too far.

All stay strong,

we live eternally.

can't you see I'm broken down?

I wish this were the end,

but continue on, I vow.

Now I'm all alone

I'm still hiding in the dark.

We can only go so far.

All stay strong, we live eternally.

Cheryl Discovers Drunk & Violent Family History | Who Do You Think You Are - Duration: 7:52.

Cheryl's arranged to meet historian dr. dan Jackson at the North Shields registry

office to find out more about John and Caroline if you look out this window

here you get a really good sense of the geography of North Shields that's

amazing I got a copy of a photograph of my

great-great great-great grandparents from Chester John wood and caroling and

he was a mariner he was a mariner yeah Mariners were known to be really snappy

dressers that's what he said he looks amazing I had a lot of swagger about

them yeah that's what they were known for and then I got this census from 1851

mm-hmm so they're living it Gibson's Bank which is just there can you see

where the greenery is no way that was the bank itself and but they lived on

these stairs because the land as you can see it's quite a steep Bank so you had

these precarious houses kind of clinging to their to the riverbank where all

these people lived on top of one another Wow so this was known as the law town

and that's where the sort of working-class people lived this was the

place where all the sort of spit and sawdust pubs would have been because you

can imagine all these sailors coming into the time yeah of course and the

sort of things that sailors like to spend the money on was all catered for

down on the Lord it was a sort of place you had to have your wits about you it

was not to be quite a violent place at times and up on the high ground was

called the high town and that's where the Pasha houses were where the big

houses where dr. a square and Northumberland Square and places like

that so there's a very obvious difference between the difference yeah

class divided in the town so they would have lived in like a small house here

yeah there's a report from the time that says people in Gibson stairs were living

in about four to a room there's all sorts of industries there's everything

you can think of shipbuilding sail making mast making uncas myths you've

got robberies where women used to work so it was incredibly busy when John and

Caroline lived North Shields was a thriving port the

town's location at the mouth of the River Tyne meant easy access to the

Northeast's coal fields which were fueling Britain's industrial revolution

coal was loaded onto ships and sent down the coast to London and also as far

afield as the Baltic and North America

sometimes a mineral wait see that could be away for two or three years three

years yeah depending where they were going so I guess the woman then had to

be quite confident tough independent if their men are always say four to three

years and they're living in an environment like that do you have to be

a tough woman absolutely and the women of North CIO's are known to look out for

each other as well and to support each other a useful place to go next would be

to find out about his career at sea Cheryl's meeting maritime historian dr.

Helen doe at the nearby old lowlights musi so so far what I do know is that he

had an apprenticeship ticket and that he lived on the bank there in North Shields

your ancestor John finished his apprenticeship and he then became a

second mate which is actually quite a good step up long ships and he's working

in the coal trade well this is the first document I've got for you okay which

tells you something about him so this is report of character he in 51 John

Woodley very good oh wow so on this page he's the only one that has a very good

for his conduct yes indeed James Lane it's his brother James Lane was seven

years younger than Cheryl's four-times-great-grandfather John and

had followed in his big brother's footsteps to see

and what is that sees badly behaved yes and it isn't specify maybe was drinking

perhaps he was drunk James Lane called me a bloody snot yeah of what is it and

struck me and struck me in the face wow this is the mate and he's saying he'd

struck me in the face for which I put him in irons then the next day you've

got James Lane again but this time he's taken before the master found guilty and

he's fined for the events it's a big contrast to his brother no look at this

certificate he was a moss he became a master it was he then like second or

next to the captain he is the captain that's incredible John became a master

mariner in 1855 at the age of 29

by this time the Merchant Service had introduced tough exams to ensure only

the most qualified men became masters John would have needed to be able to

read and write as well as navigate by the stars 114 church we North Shields

yeah that address shows that he's really come a long way

Church way is up their high town Wow Wow he's now living in a more salubrious

area I feel really really proud of him actually Stern society should be yes got

a better life for his wife and his children and what she certainly now got

status as well really mm-hmm can we go back to your photograph a

moment yeah absolutely have a look at that so I want a slightly different

light by now he was already a master it's quite possible that that was taken

to celebrate this very big step Wow and no wonder they're looking so proud yeah

this is a photograph showing status and that's probably why it was taken makes

complete sense now and the first ship that he became master of it was called

La Belle and as as Captain as the master of a ship

he's in charge of selecting the crew and this is the crew that he had no chains

on Wales thank God James Lane oh he's got his brother oh dear

maybe behaved to his brother James has been in trouble honed the spirit of the

deep and you can see it shows here there's the last ship he was on was the

spirit of the deed say obviously hasn't had any work in between I'm actually not

surprised that he recruited JM he's brother James why is that

it's just typical like Geordi mentality to always keep your family involved I

mean I'm sure any other most wouldn't have wanted James aboard given his

previous back yeah for no I guess I I reckon that John could have kept James

in check and you would have liked to give him another opportunity and chance

to earn some money I suppose and that's very typical still now of the jory

mentality

you
